I booked a massage with my husband at the spa and was not very impressed by the whole process first of all the girl came in 10 minutes later and stopped at the 15 minute mark, even though she was late I felt like the massage did not massage us did not Put any effort into it. It was very lame as far as I’m concerned I’ve had many many massages in this was probably one of my worst and my husband, the same thing.

This is a delightful classic hotel with gracious hosts, spacious rooms, delicious options for eating and shopping, and midway between Florence and Sienna, making both a very approachable day trip. This property is gorgeous and has a lot of historical significance. But there are many areas they can improve like the bathroom. Toiletries are horrible and they did not provide conditioner or body lotion. The body wash was also the shampoo which is ridiculous for any woman.
They could explane a bit better how to arrive, drop off bags and then park on an offsite parking. That was a bit confusing, especially because there are many areas you cannot drive through.
You have to walk out of the property to go to the spa, so you have to make sure you’re fully dressed. You also have to walk out of the property to go into the pool in the adjacent hotel so again you have to make sure you’re dressed properly. I found that to be very inconvenient and uncomfortable to be honest.
The breakfast was great along with lively views. The terrace also had amazing views and they offer a wine dispenser.

This property is in middle of Radda Chianti region, beautiful & mysterious. We loved the landscape around and since we had a car rental were able to visit the San Gimignano & Siena . We eish that we could have stay one more night an enjoy more of this beautiful nature. The propyby itself was beautifully decorated and I loved the vintage feel of that, breakfast was awesome and also we enjoyed one night of spa and relaxing there and one session of message . Very nice and kind spa staff.

Our stay was very nice. We loved the spacious room with the skylight. It had a cute window to look out overlooking Tuscany, which was amazing in the mornings. We did one day for a couple hours in the spa, which was very enjoyable. The prices to get services were expensive, so we passed on that. We love doing spa treatments while on vacation but the prices could have been much more affordable or they could have offered a spa package.
The breakfasts were top notch with many options with fresh juices, great coffee, breads and cakes, fresh fruit and salmon. Dinner was very nice and the dinner staff were very friendly. It would have been nice to have a coffee station in our room to make our morning coffee. I’m an early riser and nothing is open in the hotel until 8am, including surrounding areas.
The front desk staff were friendly but could have been much more helpful and accountable. We went to the desk asking about winery tours and tastings and they told me I needed to call. Most hotels in Italy have always helped to set these up for us, as we don’t have international call option, nor do we speak much Italian.
Overall it was a lovely stay and above average hotel for the price, but these little suggestions would make it better in our opinion.

The hotel it’s a great value centrally located. Their spa is not included and you have to pay a discounted rate for guests to enjoy the sauna etc. ( I think it should be included )
A small ( but pricey ) misunderstanding happened where they provided a card where you can taste wines from an automatic machine. The attendant said: “here is your card with $150 of credit to enjoy our wines”
At check out we were charged for the wine we had. And they told us that it was not a credit but just a card to consume and to keep track of what you drink.

Other than that a great option while staying in Tuscany.

Slight Fawlty Towers like. Hotel is in a great location but sometimes you felt as if guests were an inconvenience. Limited eating options available in January.
Bathroom was great. Bedroom was vast but dated. Would be great to have kettle/tea/coffee options in room. Spa is good but not immediately in hotel and not free to guests.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The hospitality was amazing. Our room was really specious and very quaint. Loved that it overlooked one of the side streets. We enjoyed breakfast on the terrace in the morning, and the hotel also allowed us to use the pool and one of its other hotels.
The only thing is it’s not a conventional hotel, there’s no elevators etc. but that’s understandable, since you want the experience of an Italian villa. Also met the owner and he was really friendly.

The staff upgraded us for free which was cool, but the spa isnt on site and is very expensive. There was nothing in the minibar. Someone tried to enter the room at 7 in the morning. We were offered coffee but they charged us 26 for it, even though breakfast was included

Radda In Chianti was a pleasure.

Good trip to Radda. Staff was really helpful planning wineries and castles to visit and tour. Hotel restaurant staff and food were also top notch. Loved it. We visited in the off season so it was not busy but was still beautiful.

It is located in a beautiful place. It was a low season so they upgraded our room so we appreciated. We were in the second building and it was very quite in spite of there is a restaurant on the first (0) floor. Staffs are very nice! Room was spacious and comfortable. I will come back here. It’s a wonderful hotel located right in heart of Radda in Chianti which is itself an amazing tiny town in ‘chiantishire’ around Siena. The hotel is wonderfully located in an ancient noble palace and it’s amazing the way the palace itself has been transformed in a beautiful and confortable hotel still maintaining its wonderful charme. Delightfully charming, chic, confortable.

If you believe in good customer service, licensed massage therapist, quiet accommodations, and management who actually cares about your experience, then you need to avoid this place at all costs! This was absolutely the worst customer service experience I have ever had in over three decades of traveling the world. Avoid at all costs! For staff to get into a fight with a customer is laughable.

Very Nice Hotel with Excellent Staff

Our room was huge with small kitchen and living room. The bathroom was very clean and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. The Wifi was impossible to connect to in the living room and slow in our room. We did need to go downstairs in order to work (where the signal was fine) and the speed was a lot better. The shower also was hot for 5 minutes and then cold for 3 minutes and hot again.

We loved our stay at Hotel Palazzo Leopoldo!! We stayed here during the winter time so it was the off season. I think our room was upgraded because it was very nice with a great view of Tuscany. The breakfast was great and we looked forward to the fresh eggs every morning. Definitely the best breakfast during our stay in Italy. The staff was so helpful in recommending the best restaurants in the area. They also arranged for flowers to be sent to our room per request from my boyfriend for my birthday. They went above and beyond for us and I will definitely stay here again.

Honeymoon in Florence!

The hotel was reasonably easy to find considering all the driving issues in Florence. They gave us a parking voucher for unloading our luggage at the hotel that would help us avoid the costly fines for driving in the wrong areas of Florence. I'd highly recommend you NOT drive at all in Florence. We had a wonderful location with helpful/friendly staff. The breakfast was huge and delicious! We were given a welcome glass of wine on the terrace accompanied by a light snack - very nice touch. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was a little hard but not too bad and they have a variety of pillows to choose from to maximize your comfort. Lots of storage and a fridge in the room.

The facility is in a beautiful location of Radda in Chianti. The views are to die for. The staff is super accomdating.
The breakfast is ok. Lots of opinion to satisfy the pickiest eater(myself included).
I stayed in the other building and it isn't old over 1,000 years told ...which is why the wifi is choppy. But fort the most part it worked.
room 26 has an amazing shower!

Wonderful place to get away from it all.

Booked last minute on a motorcycle tour of Tuscany. Now my favorite hotel in my favorite small Chianti town. If you're looking for action, this is the wrong place. But if you want a sweet little hotel with a great family- run vibe, in an ancient small town, with several excellent restaurants within a few steps, and stunning views, this should be on your radar. I'll be back!

My husband and I stayed at Palazz Leopoldo for five nights. We had the junior suite. The room was beautiful and spacious. The breakfast area was very nice. There was a very nice woman that took care of the breakfast and made great cappuccinos for us. The outside eating area has great views, but it was a little cool for us in the morning for eating outside. When we arrived to check in it was pouring rain, and the front desk offered to park our car for us. The people at the front desk were always very pleasant and helpful. The area around the hotel is very charming as well. We highly recommend this hotel. Radda in Chianti is also a great base for exploring Tuscany.

I am so happy we stayed here! Radda is a beautiful town - if you are looking to relax and enjoy beautiful scenery you'll love your stay. The hotel exceeded our expectations! It's located in the town square next to shops and restaurants. The room was spacious, the bathroom was very nice, the bed was comfortable! The amenities were wonderful, the spa was outstanding we spent 2 hours enjoying the spa.

Radda is probably the best place to stay if you wish to travel Chianti. The staff at Leopoldo will go the extra mile to make sure your stay with them is fabulous. Try Cole Bereto winery for a visit. Their il tocco merlo is to die for!

Excellent overall. Service was great, the hotel is much bigger than initial appearances suggest, but laid out in a cosy kind of way. The room itself was superb - it had its own entry hall - it was quite a good side with a great view. The pool downstairs is great - very relaxing place for a dip. The breakfast was good. When arriving, you will have to drive through the middle of the village - through an access barrier. The parking options are plentiful around the village. Would stay again. Definitely worth the raves that it gets.

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Tuscany

An opportunity to stay in a genuine medieval Tuscan villa that has been renovated to modern standards without losing any of its original charm. Staff were welcoming and helpful; parking was close at hand; rooms clean and spacious with comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast buffet available at reasonable cost. Excellent restaurant at the hotel and several other good options just a short walk down the street. Best part was being in the heart of a medieval walled city built on a hilltop with a commanding view of the surrounding countryside. One only had to walk out the door of the hotel to be able to shop for locally made leather goods, ceramics, textiles or purchase a bottle of wine and some cheese produced on the farms around Radda. Rates are very reasonable resulting in exceptional value for money.

We had a wonderful week at the palazzo Leopoldo. The room was huge and decorated well, it had a separate lounge, bed and kitchen area. We had asked to be on the top floor which meant quite a few steps up to the room and no balcony. This was not a problem for us though. The cleaners keep the room spotless and hotel staff always go out of their way to assist you. The jacuzzi pools outdoors and the swimming pool indoors are very relaxing and peaceful. The outdoor pool is located in a sister hotel 10 minutes drive away. However it is freezing! As we did not have a car, the hotel arranged for us to be taken there and collected by their staff. Breakfast is a self service buffet style, with a good range of choices including eggs, bread, ham. Cheese, tomatoes, home made cakes and pastries, fruit, cereal and yoghurts. All fresh and delicious!
Radda in Chianti is a lovely location, we did not have a car so used a taxi to and from Florence airport (1hr away). There are many lovely restaurants within walking distance and a few shops for gifts, wine bars and deli's to buy fresh local produce. There is a vineyard 'vinge vecchia' within walking distance (about 10 mins).
Overall, a lovely place to stay, we would definitely go back, perhaps with a car next time so we could venture out a bit more or book a few excursions e.g cookery day, wine tour, gelato making!

Great location, friendly and helpful staff

This hotel is in the heart of the Chianti (wine producing) district of Tuscany. The view from our room and the outdoor terrace where we had breakfast was stunning. Our room was enormous and the King size bed was very comfortable. Great Tuscan food is available in several restaurants within a short walk of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and professional. Loved it.

Enjoyed Tuscany and this beautiful hotel

What a lovely stay and people at the hotel. The rooms were big and comfortable. We had a family room which was perfect two huge rooms with a TV each and a shared bathroom for the two rooms. AC worked great considering the outside heat of 34 c. Used the pool as well as the outdoor pool at the sister hotel. Perfect !
Like others have mentioned there are no elevators as this is an older house. hotel personnel were very helpful carrying the baggage up yo where we were,
Would highly recommend this hotel.

Rustic without much charm

Personally I don't find the charm in old furniture when the drawers don't open or the cupboard is so high I can't reach the hangers. I know this is supposed to be \"rustic charm\" but when it becomes uncomfortable and difficult to use a line has to be drawn. This hotel has 4 star rating but the bathrooms were very small and very basic. There is no elevator and no bellboy in attendance and luggage has to be personally lugged up and down steep stairs. On the positive side one can say that it is a lovely old mansion - but something has to be done to make it more comfortable.

Wonderful spot from which to enjoy Tuscany

Truly unique experience in a spectacular part of Tuscany. Great staff - very helpful - especially front desk. Breakfast in the old Tuscan kitchen was excellent. Enjoyed the pool - somewhat unique design. Unfortunately the spa area was closed. Lots of care has been put into the restoration and decoration of the hotel. Some shops and a few restaurants around the hotel adds to the convenience. Restaurant associated with the hotel was excellent. Local shop owners around the hotel also very hospitable. Did quick day trips to San Gimignano and Siena from here.

Beautiful and historic! The staff are nice but not super helpful. Wish we could find coffee in the hotel. Try the BBQ on Thursday at hotel down the road and be sure to check out the small heated indoor pool!

A palace in the center of a Mediaeval town.

Best way to see the Chianti region. Facility location and setting is superb. Visit Flavio's restaurant, La Botta di Bocco.
