Excellent Stay

The property was spacious and clean, in a perfect location. Short walk from the centre and we enjoyed our time at a winery recommended by the property: La Fonti. Spectacular views and a lovely, clean pool. The food at their restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. Lovely and friendly staff. Would highly recommend for anyone thinking of visiting the countryside of Tuscany.

The views from this hotel were amazing and the staff were really lovely. It's a very traditional Italian hotel - very rustic - so if you're looking for something authentic its perfect. Breakfast was very disappointing.

Relais Fattoria Valle is a charming find nestled in between Greve in Chianti and Panzano. The guestrooms are stately, huge and spacious, the furnishings reminiscent of a different era, albeit a little worn. The staff will be proud to tell you that the property has remained under the ownership of the same Italian family for years and the decent breakfast spread can be enjoyed outdoors, with a good dose of the crisp country air. Recommended as a change from the small town B&Bs that are all around Italy but would definitely require a car.

Beautiful old world stay in Tuscany

This is the perfect place to go when you are looking to relax, surrounded by the beautiful rolling hills of Tuscany.

We had a wonderful time! I want to write a special note to say thank you to Elisa who was a fantastic part of our trip. Immediately upon check-in she made us feel right at home after a long day of travel. It was so nice to have such a friendly face be our first impression at the hotel. Her excellent customer service continued throughout the week. When we left she was extremely helpful with the checkout and even provided us with a morning 'to-go' breakfast box since we left for the airport at the early hour of 3am. I look forward to returning to Relais Fattoria Valle with family and hope I will have the opportunity to introduce them to Elisa.

A romantic Tuscany gem!

We absolutely loved our stay at Relais Fattoria Valle. It is exquisite in beauty, and relaxing beyond measure. Elisa went out of her way to accommodate us and also provided excellent advice on wonderful Tuscany towns to visit. She was friendly and charming, just like the entire stay!! The meals were great and the views spectacular!

Authentic Tuscany with charm and character

We spent 4 nights in June 2017 travelling as a couple and had one of the most memorable stays of our entire month in Italy. The hotel and surrounds have authenticity, charm and history. Our room (Room 27) was tastefully decorate with period furnishings and being a corner room had delightful views of Panzano and the tuscan hills. We had a hire car which is highly recommended to get the most out of exploring Tuscany. It was very hot (30-33 celcius) during our stay, however, the pool that picks up the afternoon sun was a perfect place to relx and cool off. The evenings cooled quickly and opening up our room made it very comfortable (our room did not have air conditioning like most authentic italian villas and is not needed). I could not speak more highly of the staff - Lara upon arrival helping us settle and providing us with ideas for the coming days, Elise in the evenings to organise drinks, dinner and activities, Francesco the chef with his authentic tuscan cooking and patience with a wonderful cooking class and all the other staff too! We could not fault our stay...was a tremendous experience. We will absolutely be recommending to all and will definately return.

Beautiful Hotel in Wine Country

Cute, rustic hotel in the middle of wine country. The place is on a hill overlooking the vineyards with an incredible view. The staff, especially Elisé (spelling?) who served us both days at the restaurant, was extremely nice and spoke English. The patio is perfect for watching the sunsets, and the pool was clean and a nice bonus in the hot afternoons. The restaurant was fabulous and we actually ate there both nights so that we didn't have to worry about driving. The tomato pasta dish with chili was one of my favorite meals during the trip. A nice breakfast was also included. FYI - there are mosquitoes in Tuscany, so come prepared.

Terrible and expensive

When we arrived we saw the place from the outside and it looked interesting. However, we were very disappointed when we got in as the inside was very old and dark. Then we went to the room which was not what we expecting based on the price and the reviews. We expected it to have the regular hotel room amenities but there was no tv, kettle or minibar. The bathroom was small and, as the rest of the room, it was rather old and lacking some refresh. Furthermore, we asked about dinner at the restaurant and they said that the restaurant was going to be closed. In general the place felt like it was an old house with old stuff inside and in need of a major renovation. We stayed at other hotels around Tuscany, paid less and got better quality and experience. We cannot really understand how this place has got so good reviews that actually tricked us into booking a room. Not recommended at all.

We have now stayed at Relais Fattoria Valle 4 times, each time we have enjoyed as it is a beautiful house in a beautiful location in the hills of Chianti. The hotel is under new management and we found that the hotel was not as good as our previous stays. The rooms although serviced lacked attention to detail with no clean towels over the 4 nights. Although the food was good we did miss the chef that used to work there. The girls at reception as usual were friendly and helpful.

Lovely hotel in fantastic location.

I was exploring Tuscany by car and I selected this quiet hotel.

It is a small hotel with the a very beautiful building and location in the heart of Chianti. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly particularly as I was a single traveller.

Quirky little place in the countryside

An interesting country house hotel. A beautiful building but could do, as I've complained about in other hotel reviews, some proper front end visible management. We were made welcome but for the 5 days we didn't feel \"looked after\", more that we had to wander around asking for things like food and drink. We were asked each morning whether we were going to eat in or out which was not always easy to know as we left our day plans fairly open. The restaurant is OK but built in the cellar, misses out on the lovely surroundings and lacks any warmth. The food was delicious though. Our room, 31, was above the central stairway next to reception and the bare timber floors meant we could hear every conversation in our room, so we didn't feel entirely relaxed and rested by the time we left. If you are a good sleeper and don't care for personal service, this is a great hotel.

Great place to stay near Panzano in Chianti

Beautiful old fattoria (farm) house near Panzano in Chianti. Beautiful old Tuscan furnishings. Our room (33) was adjacent to a sitting area with a game table and couches and chairs. The other room off the sitting area had two connected rooms. This would be a great place for families. They have a restaurant tat serves dinner but we did not eat there. The breakfast was only so-so. A great italian breakfast must include cappuccino and it must be included. Still I would recommend Fattoria Valle. We were in Panzano so we could attend Officina della Bistecca with Dario the Butcher.

The hotel staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We had planned a bus back to Florence and when we found out, on the day of, that bus service was suspended because of a national holiday, they immediately helped us find private transportation quickly.

Beautiful home base for day trips in Tuscany

Relais Fattoria Valle is in a beautiful setting and is very peaceful. It is also walking distance (maybe 700 m) from Antica Macelleria Cecchini in Panzana, which is a worthwhile restaurant to go to even if your are not a true carnivore (but vegetarians should not bother going).

There are tiny things that could be improved about the hotel (our shower door fell off the tracks, coffee in the morning could have been better, staff could have been a little less condescending when I deviated from the standard request for an Aperol spritz, free internet was available in the lobby but not in rooms, etc), but none of that was enough to take away from the overall charm and beauty of the place.

This would be a good home base for someone with a rental car who wanted to make a bunch of day trips in Tuscany and come \"home\" to a beautiful setting with a swimming pool, etc. I would not hesitate to stay there again

Nice, relaxing villa/hotel

This was a very nice place to stay. It had historic charm, a nice pool, restaurant and a great location for visiting other areas in the Chianti region. There is no air conditioning though. So, it might be best to visit at times other than the hottest parts of summer.

Idyllic get away in Chianti

An absolutely idyllic location for a quiet get-away. Beautiful views across the vineyards and olive groves to the hill-top town of Panzano. Church bells ring across the valley on the hour. Easy access to Panzano (about 400 metres) and surrounding places of interest.

When the weather is fine, dining is outside under the beautiful mature trees watching the sun set to the sounds of the many birds.

Food and service excellent. Beautiful pool which captures the afternoon sun - only wish we had more time to spend there!

Room with a view!

This is a lovely hotel halfway between Florence and Sienna. I f you are planning touring Chianti, I recommend staying here. It is off the '222' - the scenic route, not to be missed for fantastic views. Ask for a top floor room, to enjoy the views. While you are there, try and fit in restaurant 'LaMole' - 2km away by the crow flies, 13 by road, and a half hour drive up a ever narrower mountain road. The views are stupendous, and the food and atmosphere second to none.
Photo is from Lamole, our hotel is the property towards the bottom of the frame. Panzano is the town behind.

Great 'hideout' location.

Relais Fattoria Valle is based in a great location (and 10 minute walk from Panzano) and boasts an amazing view on the Chianti countryside. The staff provided good service and the breakfast selection was good despite having to pay for your espresso & cappuccino which is very non-standard in Italian hotels. Dinner was good (but not served every night).
Unfortunately, our room was on the small side and we had no view (make sure you ask for a room with a view!).

Castle-like relaxation with a view!

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel! Wonderful castle-like building that makes it feel like you have traveled back in time, comfortable room with AC and a view over the Tuscan hills and a quiet pool area with the same wonderful view. Leonardo was great, serving us drinks by the pool and at the terrass in the evening!

Underbart ställe med fantastisk utsikt! Lugnt, harmoniskt och romantiskt. God mat och bra service. Eftersom vi inte hade någon bil och taxi är väldigt dyrt så hade det varit super om hotellet hade haft nån form av shuttle eller pick-up service att erbjuda gästerna.

Vackert beläget, mysig stämning!

Fint gammalt stenhus vackert beläget mellan toscanska kullar, vinodlingar och olivträd. Huset ligger ca 10 min promenad från den lilla staden Panzano med vacker utsikt och flera restauranger. Går att ta sig till huset med buss från Florens men bil rekommenderas då det är mycket trafik på vägarna (mörkt på kvällarna om man varit inne i staden) och ganska långt om man vill göra utflykter.
Fint poolområde och god frukost med nybakt bröd och gott kaffe. Rummet var enkelt och lantligt inrett. Rent, fräsch och mysigt. Rummet har varken tv, minibar eller AC men då temperaturen sjönk på kvällarna så funkade det med en bordsfläkt. Personalen var hjälpsam och stämningen familjär, hade gärna kommit tillbaka!

En natt på detta charmiga ställe

Fantastisk placerat hotell med promenadavstånd in till närmaste by. Huset är ett fantastiskt gammalt adelshus med 3,5-4m i tak i rummen. Bra frukost och blev väl bemötta. Rekommenderas varmt!

Schön gelegenes Landgut zum Entspannen

In die malerische Umgebung von Panzano liegt das Hotel in einem Park, der von Olivenhainen eingebettet ist. Von der Terasse hat man den Blick auf die Weinanbaugebiete von Panazano \"Panzanello\". Die Zimmer sind groß, komfortabel und stilvoll eingerichtet.
Der Service ist unaufdringlich und sehr herzlich, so daß wir uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt haben.
Die Erwartungen an einen Landhausurlaub in der Toskana wurden voll erfüllt.
Sämtliche Sehenswürdigkeiten sind innerhalb einer Stunde mit dem Auto zu erreichen.
Eine klare Weiterempfehlung!

Sehr schön gelegenes, kleines Hotel mit sehr freundlichen Personal. Das Essen im hoteleigenen Restaurant war sehr lecker. Leider sind die Türen nicht schalldicht, sodass man die Gäste im Flur sprechen hört.

Romantiskt hotell i vacker omgivning!

Vi hade tre nätters övernattning som vi var mycket nöjda med. Bra mat, mycket bra service, fantastiskt läge, romantiskt och rustikt hotell. En kväll var vi och åt hos Dario Ceccini på hans restaurang som var en upplevelse. Hotellet ligger ca 500 m från byn men det är mörka snirkliga vägar. Var också på en matlagningskurs på hotellet då vi lagade 4 rätter som vi avnjöt senare. Fin pool, bra gratis parkering och underbart vackert läge. Tyvärr fanns ingen aircondition på rummet men vi fick låna en golvfläkt så vi kunde sova. Enda nackdelen var att där var mycket mygg på kvällen.

Lovely place, would stay there again.

Stayed for two nights but we wished we would have stays longer. Nice pool with the most beautiful view over the wine yards. Free parking and convenient to drive there. Close to Florence if you want to do a day trip. We also did a few vine tastings at wine years just a few minutes from the hotel. Wound go there again. Sometimes it was difficult to find the receptionist since they didn't always were in the reception, and the house were big.

Fantastisk miljö, vackert

Jag och min sambo tog en buss till Panzano och hade som syfte att besöka vingårdar och bo på ett genuint italienskt hotell - och vi träffade precis rätt med detta hotell. Det ligger bland massvis av vingårdar, har en bra pool och bra service. Rummen är inredda med gamla möbler och är otroligt fina och fräscha.

vi åt lunch på hotellet som också var bra. Enda nackdelen är att det är svårt att promenera in till stan eller till vingårdarna trots att det är nära. finns ingen trottoar så man får gå väldigt nära där bilarna kör och vi hade ingen hyrbil. Så en stark rekommendation om man ska åka till Panzano är att ha bil! Vi promenerade dock ändå ca en halvtimme neråt backen till 2 vingårdar och uppåt backen 10 min till själva staden.

skulle absolut kunna återvända till denna plats men då isåfall med bil :)
