Room n washroom was small. Not enough space
Front desk staff was very rude. When ever we asked her some information never explained well and informed us to come later. It happened 2 to 3 times. When ever we see her on the front desk we don't go and wait for the next staff to come and then we go to the front desk for help.

We arrived by taxi and that didn’t have a meter. The driver tried charging us an exorbitant price. A hotel employee spoke with the driver to resolve the issue, which saved us a lot of money.

This hotel is in a poor neighborhood in Doha, Qatar. All of the hotels in this area are old and not renovated. This hotel has limited Dining options, because there are so many people with cancelled flights who get free lunch at this hotel. When I came for lunch and dinner, there was no place to sit. Also, the breakfast was terrible. The most disturbing experience was the arrival experience. The security rudely joked my suitcase out of my hand, and told me to leave my suitcase by the door before checking in. There is an unacceptable and an acceptable way to speak with guests. After all, without guests it is impossible for the hotel to make money and pay its employees. *** When the room was cleaned, the staff moved the furniture and my shoes, but did not return the furniture and my shoes to the proper spot. When I arrived back at the hotel at night, I had to tell the staff to move the furniture back. I should have not had to do this. Terrible service, and very little professionalism from the staff.

WARNING: NO GUESTS!

Hotels.c*m doesn't tell you something important about this place: they have a strict \"no guests\" policy. I was informed of this when I checked in, but I foolishly imagined they would never enforce it. Wrong! I brought a guest to my room and they enforced it aggressively, confronting me in a way that would never happen in the U.S. It was a horrible experience. Don't mess with these folks!

When I arrived at 3:30 am in the morning, the hotel had no booking for me, I had booking conformation nr. Had to pay an additional night stay plus my normal cost of QR 1100 for 5 nights. Desk staff not very helpful. Did not know the time of restaurant as we wanted lunch the following morning as we missed breakfast.

Not the best experience Ive had

I was not impressed at all with this hotel. These things may seem trivial but I travel alot and comfort is very important. It ruined my experience. I arrived late off of a 17 hour flight and arrived around 1am. I checked in and had no help from anyone to take my luggage or explain where anything was. In fact I was literally pointed to the lift. When I got to the room I discovered the requests I had made (which were confirmed to me by email as ok) were not in this room. I paid for a bath and a 'city view' which it had neither. I went back down to the front desk only to be fobbed off. I also needed a power adaptor which I was told could not be provided (first hotel ever to not lend me one). I asked if one of the staff could possibly lend me one of theirs as I had to call home to let my family know I had arrived ok. Eventually one of the staff obliged. I later discovered that there was a plug in the room under the desk that could take my plug. If they had just showed me it would have saved alot of stress! There was no bath as promised by this hotel ( I would not have booked here is I had know this). Overall I found the staff for the most part disinterested in the comfort or pleasure of my stay and even a little rude. I was to stay up to 7 nights depending on my schedule. I had pre-booked 3 nights and extended but chose to leave to another hotel. The room itself was only ok for the money. The pictures look way better than the actual hotel. Likes - Great prices for room service and food of good quality, Staff very welcoming and attentive , Room service delivers in timely manner and house keeping good attentino to detail. safe in room. Made me a cake for my birthday which was a lovely touch.

Dislikes - Air Conditioning in room sounds like a jet taking off, Safe has a plug socket inside(great idea) but does not work, Pool furniture (loungers etc) worn out, No where else in hotel other than pool area (which is Female only on Saturdays) to relax in the sun.

Good for business trips

Safir could use some updates to infrastructure(water drains) and staff.
Employees were very timid throughout the stay which didn't make for a very welcoming environment. Once, I asked for a plate and knife from room service and was told that there was a charge of 10 Qatari Riyals. When asked what type of policy this was, they ended up waiving the fee. But I was told it was a rule for guest not buying food from the hotel.

Housekeeping are not 100% thorough when it comes to cleaning(don't move furniture when vacuuming,dusting). But when asked to do something, they were quick to get it done.

The hotel has seen its day, but for a short business trip, it works.

Stayed here on an overnight layover. Staff responded quickly to my inquiries and arranged airport pickup and drop off (for a fee). Service was excellent, from check-in, to room service to check out. Room was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved our 2N stay. All staff looked after us well. Our room was spacious and the bed super comfortable. The bathroom was excellent. Loved the high quality bed linen and towels. Generally the hotel is good , room is decent size and clean , smoking 5th floor need a lot more ventilation from the point you reach the 5th floor the place really smells different and the rooms have no adequate ventilation for smokers

The only bad experience I had was being very strict in late check out in a really dogmatic way ... other hotels in doha I have stayed in before have show a lot more flexibility in this respect

The hotel area has some low end restaurants but no decent or fast food around

Also the laundry services is extremely expensive ...everyone should completely avoid and use the laundry near by the hotel

Horrible Customer Service. Avoid!

Horrible Customer Service. Hotel even refused to give one plate and knife without ordering food. In addition their room service person Mr. Sufian and F&B Manager Mr. Edward are rude! would never go back to this hotel and chain as their staff is the worth Ive seen in the hospitality industry! They even asked me to pay for phone calls which I didnt make; they reversed the charges later; but a waste of time!

The hotel hot water in the room was giving out BROWN water when trying to use. I had to request a change in the room to get clean water. Never seen this in any of my previous stays. Room is very small as well.

Incredible value for a quick stay

We picked this hotel for a 12 hour airport layover in Doha based on its price and ratings. We were thrilled by how friendly and competent the staff was and the room was wonderful for the quick overnighter. The staff set up wake up calls at 5am and came through and then provided their shuttle to the airport. The room was very nice and everything worked great. Thanks to the staff and Safir Hotel Doha for a very pleasant experience

Worse stay of my life....the ac was v bad..to much noise..at night it stop working and start to trough hot air...the wash room sink was not draining the water..the lights was not working in bathroom..the water was very very hot no chill system..it was almost 55 degree can't even wash my face..stayed 3 days with family and other family friend was in other room and he has the same experience..every time we try to open door we have to go to reception and make new key..the worse parking area in the world..I don't know how it is 4 star...belive me every year 50 nights I live in hotels and this was the worst..the reception people are biggest lier and stupid. .they give me smokking room I booked non smokking.she told me no smokking not avaliable. All hotel booked.I told her if like this upgrade my room with non smokking u booked before my visit..belive me she gave us on non smokking floor..how they got it they told me 1 min before hotel full booked...the WiFi in my room and friend room stop working again and again..and they have stupid iptv...if net stop the TV also stop working...so no TV no WiFi the tecnition wast time..the safe in my room was also not working..I don't know y hotels.com have there the world most stupid hotel in there list..I hope hotels.com will remove there name from the list after reading this...please my friends live on streets but don't live in this stupid hotel..also the swimming pool water was very oily..

Good value for a short stay

The hotel is comfortable, clean and well appointed and good value for a short stay. For a longer stay, think twice. My room was just big enough to fit the requisite furniture - bed, desk, chair and table - improved by a big picture window, but with a view onto a shabby street. The main local feature is a builder's souq. The hotel food is OK, a little over-salted for my taste, but the menu is limited and poorly balanced. There are a few local restaurants to choose from but they are at the very low cost end of the spectrum. Security is good, possibly a little over-bearing at times. For longer stays you'll need to consider your taxi budget, but getting a taxi outside is easy.

Nice 4 star hotel close to Doha

The hotel location was the worst, no one knew where it was and it was very hard to get to at times. For the price it was not bad, however I would recommend staying at another hotel that has 5 stars and pay a little more than stay there ever again.

Very nice, pretty close to airport

This was a much nicer hotel than I expected for the price - the room was really nice, the breakfast was good, the staff pleasant and efficient. I wasn't there long enough to try out all the facilities (pool, etc). It's about 10 minutes or less from the airport by taxi. The hotel is new, and prices may go up when it's more established, but at the current price or even a bit more, I would happily stay here again if I pass through Qatar.

We really enjoyed the stay at doha. Loved the hotel
the staff was very helpful to us. Pool was kept open longer for us so we could have a swim later after hours.
Ali from the front desk and the Phillipino man frm the health club were so good at their job.
Love to come again.
Bed was a little small for two but otherwise comfortable.
Very close to airport and small shops.

- Seitenstraße des Hotels ist dunkel und von jungen Herren. Sicherheitstechnisch ist jedoch nichts vorgefallen
- kein Balkon, keine Fenster im Zimmer (nur Klimaanlage)

Hotel staff service was redculous.
They charged me 50QR for the way back to airport and didn't give me any receipt.
They just said no problem, no problem. Then they rquested me to get back to the hotel.
Breakfast menue is so limited.
The only good thing is that the accomodation fee was cheap. Yet it is cheap because the service is cheap.

Okay hotel for stop-over

Okay hotel for stop-over. More tourist hotel than 4 star. A little worn bathroom, but but big and spacious room. Near Souq Waqif. Water in pool is not heated and cold in evening. Service at front desk was a litte odd. During check in they started discussing price with another customer and generally front desk was not friendly. Security staff was great. Make sure you ask for blue taxi for going somewhere, or else they will get you an over twice as expensive driver without a meter but no extra comfort from the taxies. No taxis/shuttles outside hotel as they told us before arriving when asked for an early taxi.
