The lighting was very glaring and unpleasant.
The check-in was difficult, and then the keycards required once- or twice-daily reprogramming.
The staircase steps are uneven.
Half of the outlets were not functional.

Good things:
The beds were comfortable, the linens were clean, the floor was clean, the bathroom was clean and in good repair. There was adequate hot water after the first night - I believe you were performing some necessary plumbing maintenance, and fortunately there was a notice saying so, so we remained at your motel rather than moving to another, anticipating the improvement.
Housekeeping responded quickly to the problem of the inadequate number of towels.

The hotel appears to be undergoing major renovations. Reminds me of an overpriced Motel 6 property that’s 30 years old. Lobby was closed. The room did not look anything like what The promo pics on the website displayed. Extremely poor management and given the fact this place is sandwiched in between two Marriott properties that are newer and in much better condition, I’d stay at one of those properties.

When I first booked this hotel, I saw nothing but amazing reviews. Once we started digging a bit further, we saw how terrible the motel really was. Everyone was giving it 0 - 1 stars and mentioning that there are cockroaches in the hotel. From the minute we walked in, we smelled weed and there was blasting music coming from several rooms. If there was a way to get my money back, I would.. I’ve never felt more disgusted and unsafe in a location before.

Switched rooms multiple times.
First room hair all over the sheets, last room roaches on the bed. YES ROACHES! Oh and I took a video. Ended up on the phone with Hotels.com for HOURS. The hotel refused to refund until the manager came in the next day.
Absolutely DISGUSTING!
Could not say enough horrible things about lack of cleanliness and possible health issues at this hotel

Room was clean and quiet, and the outside area was nicely kept. The hotel is located in a convenient area with dining options nearby. Saw lots of young kids stay here with their parents. The area feels safe and there are two other hotels right next door. The only downside was the staff who checked me being grumpy and impatient.

They canceled my reservation without giving me any notice. Nowhere in my paperwork was there any mention of me needing to confirm my reservation by 4:00 pm of my day of arrival.

I was able to get a room, but it cost $20 or so more. NOT HAPPY!

The room showed years of “wear & tear.” I will never recommend this place to anyone.

Very dirty place, bugs everywhere, all nonsmoking rooms are with very strong tobacco and weed smell, I tried to get different rooms and they all smell tobacco even when they say nonsmoking, that’s not a place to stay not even an hour, everyone smoking in the rooms entrance and very dirty, Expedia should remove that place from their list because the pictures are not the right one when searching for a place, their appearance is totally different than what we see in the Expedia catalog, it was awful experience, I couldn’t sleep at all

I have been staying at this hotel at least 6 times a year for 14years. I have noticed lots of full time family and less desirable people staying at this hotel.
I have noticed what appears to be drug deals and middle of the night arguments occurring frequently.
I will reconsider my next stay in Edison at another hotel property that is more comfortable and with less worry of safety. A shame actually.

Convenient to the major highways and the interstate. My only issues were the a/c unit and the tightness of the bed to the a/c unit. The a/c unit is old and didn't cool very well.
Second due to the desk it makes the bed way too close to the a/c unit. You have to side step to get into the bed.

Extremely shady, room was supposed to be non smoking but stunk so bad of weed and tobacco we had to leave immediately. Everyone sits out of their rooms half naked usually smoking, drinking or blasting music.

Stay may be cheap but not worth your health and safety.

Cheap rooms, not meaning price.

The door lock did not work properly as the face plate for the lock was loose. Door handles on the dresser were only screwed in with one screw, needed two, one for each side. Glued together toilet tank cover was tacky. No attention to cleaning details, i.e. along wall edges, door frames, etc. Room smelled smokey even though it is non-smoking. Had asthma issues which confirmed that. Will NOT stay again nor recommend. Sorry.

Price was good. Room was generally clean and comfortable although bed was pretty firm. The rug by the front door smelled. There was a large bug carcass on the wall by the front door. The door was warped and had to be slammed hard (kicked) in order to close securely. Front desk clerk was nice but took quite a while to get off the phone when I was checking in.

Are sometimes red roof ends are anything from Sketchy to a surprisingly good deal. This is the latter.The renovated rooms are great, they retain a lot of their previous elements but are now outfitted with more electrical outlets even with USB ports, the large work desk, I like that there was a microwave, refrigerator that actually worked, and even a recycle bin.
Unfortunately it was clear that the floors are not mopped, as you can see in the photo that is me wiping my foot on a wet towel after walking around the room barefoot and my white socks met a similar fate.
Before I arrived they needed to make an adjustment to my reservation, Diana was very kind and professional and courteous about the adjustment.

Not sure why the reviews are not great because I was extremely happy with my stay. The checkin was easy, staff was not rude at all. The room was freshly painted, clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable with clean sheets. There was a couple burn holes in the comforter but I was in a smoking room so that is to be expected. There was a couple rowdy neighbors but at 11pm they went inside and quiet. I slept very well. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again when work has me in the area again.

My room was very dirty. The police showed up there several times during my stay. The garbage outside was overflowing. The physical appearance was unsightly. I overpaid for the quality of the room and service. When o spoke to housekeeping regarding the unclean condition she stated that she didn’t have Clorox wipes like I did to clean. She only uses soap and water. The wipes that I used to clean the room were brown when I finished. This was unacceptable!

It was ok!

It didn't look promising on the outside and the room was small, but the room was clean. It was surprisingly quiet, given it was under the highway. The air conditioner covered up the sound of the cars. We really only were in the room to sleep, two people couldn't have spent much time together in the room because it was so small. My only real complaint is that there was no coffee maker in the room & I had to walk over to the office in the morning to get their pretty watered-down coffee.

Do not. Biohazard beyond repair. Very bad. My throat still feels a bit scratchy from the air I inhaled from the room. And I was only there about 30 seconds. Urine, a cloud of ammonia lingered in the air. Takes you by surprise. Dust, feces odor embedded in the walls, carpet and furniture is what I gather.
Just unimaginable.

I’ll keep this short and sweet. There were addicts in the area nodding off and conversing in front of rooms. As for the room? The room was covered in stains; from the sheets, to the walls, to the tub. You can believe what you want to, but you should definitely believe me if you want to avoid a terrible experience.

Worth its price, amazing motel.

Clean, safe, profesional and hospitable. The room was big enough, spotless clean, I love the details on the toiletries, you don’t find thing like that anywhere else. Instructions for wifi fast and reliable signal. AC worked amazing, the whole room was cooled in a few. They have a room service menu that definitely would try next time. Cheap room with a cheap vibe

The room was a standard level of clean - smelled like it was just cleaned and for a 69 dollar a night hotel- it was clean enough - bathroom was old , and the tub had signs of use. The check in man was great - however the activities that occurred while I was checking in and during my stay were something out of a comedy. To start off with there was 3 ambulances and 4 cop cars waiting in the front of where my room was. It seems that an overdose occurred while I was checking in - luckily for me it was right next to my room. I definitely got a look from the cop standing guard - having to explain to him that I was not a hooker. Fortunate this was just a room to sleep in so I didn’t have to drive home drunk from my st pats party . However at 7 am we were all awoken to a woman screaming at the top of her lungs.
It was creepy and scary.
