The property is clean and beautiful. In our room the main door stuck and was very difficult to open and close without a loud noise. The bathroom door lock didn't work and we couldn't keep the bathroom door closed. We planned to use the shuttle service however when we arrived at the port with our family there was no one waiting and we were told it would be at least 40 minutes before we could be picked up. (Our shuttle to the airport the next day was early, clean and very nice.)

We reserved the \"deluxe family suite\" which is 2 connected rooms-- they were both very nice and spacious. Our check in was at 3:00 however our second room wasn't ready until 5:00 (we were there at 3:30 waiting) and we had to call and wait for the door to be opened between rooms and to get a rollaway bed that had been confirmed prior to the stay to be brought in and set up. We weren't fully in both rooms with the bed until 6:00. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal but we were traveling with small children which made this process pretty stressful. There were a couple of very large groups checking in around the same time which I think added to the delays so this might not be a typical experience.

We picked this hotel because of the adult infinity pool and the view of the Acropolis which did not disappoint however there were kids at the pool and this was not enforced.

The Front Desk staff was fabulous as they were a professional and friendly. but everyone else was not Our refrigerator didn't work and we had to order ice twice a day.

I felt like I was in downtown Baltimore city as there were strip clubs and sex shops nearby but that did not bother me. If I stayed in Athens again, I would stay at a smaller boutique hotel closer to the Acropolis.

Hôtel près de 2 autobus touristiques ( big bus et sightseeing). Se rendre à Athènes à pied peut être long et fastidieux, mais revenir d’Athènes vers l’hôtel se fait quand même bien. Nous avions tendance à prendre un transport pour l’aller et revenions à pied.

Le personnel de l’hôtel est gentil et accueillant.

Les chambres sont confortables et ont une bonne grandeur.

Le principal atout de l’hôtel est sa piscine, terrasse et restaurant sur le toit, la vue y est exceptionnelle.

Le buffet déjeuner est très bon et généreux, il y a beaucoup de choix et tout ce que nous avons goûté était très bon.

The property is beautiful. The lobby was decorated beautifully with the chandelier and the art wall. The location is great - rooftop dining provides spectacular views (day or night time.) dining was decent as well - breakfast options were plentiful and the dinner was delicious as well.
The bathroom had a leak and once reported to the front desk, they were responsive. Additional housekeeping attention was needed in the bathroom as well.
The pools closed at 7pm which was rather early considering 7pm was still rather bright outside. Nevertheless, the pool in the spa was available until 10pm - no view as it was in the basement.
Overall the hotel was lovely.

Would not recommend this hotel. The photos make it look far nicer than it actually is. It is very dated and does not emulate the luxury and cleanliness seen within the photos.

Also the walk to and from the closest metro takes you past a row of strip clubs on the highway making it unsuitable for families or individual travellers.

La chambre est grande, propre et agréable. La piscine sur le toit ainsi que le déjeuner au 9 e étage sont absolument formidables. Le buffet est l’un des plus faste et les meilleurs que j'ai mangé, avec la vue en plus, ça commence très bien la journée.

Il y a un arrêt de Big bus et sightseeing, mais ils commencent à passer vers 10:00 et sont aux 80 minutes environ.

On peut se déplacer vers l’Acropole à pied, c’est faisable, mais pas très convivial, mais l’option est tout de même là.

Il y a un petit dépanneur 24h à 3 minutes de marche où on peut trouver de l’eau et des fruits frais.

However, we booked two rooms - one king bed and one family room.

When we arrived they gave us a king room and a separate connecting room with a door between a double room and a twin room.

All good - two rooms as booked, one good as a family room.

On checkout though they insisted we pay city tax for three rooms, not two, even though Expedia quoted city tax for just two rooms and no-one had told us they would class the booking as three rooms.

The woman on the desk was condescending and unhelpful telling us to look at the terms on the website.

Our booking is with Expedia and it clearly says two rooms only. So we’re now trying to get our money back.

The breakfast, spa, and pools are great. Possibly the best breakfast buffet we’ve had on a trip before.

However, our room smelled like smoke for the entirety of the trip despite communicating our displeasure with the front desk.

Upon check in, we had to bring our many bags up to our room ourselves and the area outside our room was quite loud in the middle of the night and woke us up several times.

A little underwhelmed, especially considering this was our honeymoon trip and dreamed it would be extra special.

Very classy hotel close with a wonderful view of the Parthenon, especially at night when it is lit. The staff attended to all our needs with a very friendly service. The room is spacious and renovated. Our room was in front of the six-lane street on the second floor (3rd floor in USA) and we had a balcony, we actually didn't hear the traffic and slept good. The included breakfast in the restaurant was excellent, too. We didn't have a chance to try the restaurant but had excellent room service. The location was not perfect if you are a tourist as there are almost no restaurants nearby and you have to walk about 8 minutes to get to the metro station or to the Acropolis. I would say this location caters more for business travelers. Also there are three strip clubs across the main street which makes the location look not too good but we felt safe walking during the day so it is not actually a bad area, we just laugh it off. The bed mattress is extra firm and the pillows are heavy and not fluffy so if you like soft bed and pillows this may not be for you. We spent two nights on our way back home from the islands.

My complaint was that I booked a King bed room. When we checked in they put us in a queen room. I returned to the reception desk to say that we wanted a king room and the agent insisted that we had a king room. finally, I said if you want to go look, it is not a king bed. I had to argue with them and eventually they put us in a king room. that was an unpleasant experience, after flying for over 14 hours. I’m not sure if it was Expedia or the property but either way that left a bad taste in my mouth.

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Athens for 13 nights and had a wonderful experience overall. The location was excellent for getting around Athens, and Uber service was very convenient from the hotel. There was also a fantastic restaurant directly across the street called Pilot that we really enjoyed during our stay.

The hotel itself was very clean, welcoming, and beautifully maintained. The lobby was elegant and inviting, and the staff throughout the hotel were consistently kind, attentive, and helpful.

We especially enjoyed the spa area and used it several times during our visit. The facilities included a steam room, sauna, indoor lap pool, rooftop pool, and another pool on the first floor. Everything was spotless and beautifully kept. The rooftop area also offers a gorgeous view of Athens, which made it a very relaxing place to spend time.

The only small disappointment was that the hot tub was not actually hot, and we were told there was nothing they could do about it due to safety reasons. Also, while the rooftop restaurant had a beautiful atmosphere and stunning views, the menu choices were somewhat limited and the food was quite expensive, so we only ate there once.

Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend the Grand Hyatt Athens to others visiting the city. We had a lovely experience and really have no major complaints whatsoever.

Rooms are comfortable and clean, and nice roof top pool. The light shining through the transparent glass wall in the shower does little for anyone trying to sleep in while their another occupant is up and using the shower/bathroom. There is no Netflix, etc. and using a HDMI cable did not work to attach a computer/tablet to watch movies. Only 2-3 TV channels in English. If the hotel has a conference, the elevators are over filled, especially in the morning, trying to get to the roof top breakfast area. There is no other location in the hotel for breakfast. Took almost 15 minutes to get a elevator car down to the lobby to check-out. No free morning coffee available. Metro station 15 minute walk. Overall, not a \"Grand Hyatt\" experience at all. Find a small hotel closer to the Acropolis main area to really experience Athens!

This hotel had both positive and negative aspects to our stay. The highlight was definitely the rooftop infinity pool and the beautiful view of the Acropolis, which was impressive and enjoyable.

Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing for several reasons. The hotel’s location was not ideal, as it was directly across the street from sex clubs/strip clubs and next to abandoned buildings, which made the surrounding area feel uncomfortable and unappealing.

In addition, I believed I had booked a king room with an Acropolis view and had even contacted the hotel approximately two weeks in advance to confirm the upgrade I thought I had paid for $366 a night. Unfortunately, I never received a response from the hotel, so I proceeded assuming the reservation details were correct. Instead, we were placed in a king room facing a dirty, empty parking lot.

The bathroom was also a major issue. The shower stall repeatedly overflowed and flooded into the bedroom area. After contacting maintenance multiple times, we were informed that the issue was due to the design of the bathroom and that nothing could be done to fix it. As a result, we had to continuously request extra towels from room service each night to create a barrier preventing water from leaking further into the bedroom and toward the drain beside the toilet, which felt very unsanitary.

I also contacted Expedia, since the booking was made through them, but unfortunately they offered little to no help.

There are many things to praise regarding our stay, the transport into Athens via the shuttle was superb, on time, great driver - he was so friendly and accommodating. The room was immaculate and the breakfast more than satisfactory but I was so disappointed that the roof top pool (as advertised when I booked) was not open. It was the reason I booked the hotel in the first place and it wasn't clear when I booked with Expedia that it would be closed for refurbishment. There is no where to sit outside in the sunshine at the hotel when this is closed and the local area is traffic busy and urban. Otherwise, it is a great hotel, we were given an upgrade and the staff were super friendly and attentive.

I am beyond disappointed with my recent stay at this hotel. What should have been a relaxing trip was ruined by the sheer lack of basic hospitality and professionalism.
Upon arrival, I wasn’t even greeted. The front desk clerk acted as if my check-in was a massive inconvenience. We already checked in and waited for an 1 hour in the line, but our rooms is not yet ready so we decided to go out for couple of hours. When we came back to picked up the key to our room the front desk told us to go back to the line and wait all over again and again just to pickup the keys as I pointed out an issue with my room keys just to pickup, I was met with an eye-roll and a \"there’s nothing we can do\" attitude without them even checking the system.
The situation only got worse when I asked to speak with a manager. I was told the manager was \"busy\" and the manager was so rude that he didn’t wan’t to talked to me or help me. I followed up again, and each time the front desk staff became more hostile. It was clear that the toxic attitude at the front desk starts at the top. If management can’t be bothered to address the guest concerns or even show their face when there’s a conflict. they shouldn’t be in the hospitality business.
Avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of other hotels in the area that actually value their guests. This was a total waste of money! The staff and the higher-ups should attend a mandatory guest management.

I have stayed at many Grand Hyatt properties, but my experience at Grand Hyatt Athens was deeply concerning due to critical communication failures and lack of support during a distressing situation.

During my stay, there was a citywide taxi strike—information that was never communicated to us at any point by the hotel. As international visitors, this was not a minor detail; it directly impacted how safely we could move around the city. Unaware of any alternatives, we relied on crowded public transportation, where I was subsequently the victim of a robbery.

While I understand the hotel is not responsible for the crime itself, the situation could have been avoided had we been properly informed. I later learned the hotel offers private transfer services, yet this option was never presented to us—especially critical during a taxi strike when safer, controlled transportation should have been proactively communicated.

After the incident, I called the hotel from the police station in a distressed state seeking assistance. Despite being approximately 10 minutes away, I was told I would need to walk 20 minutes to a pickup location and wait up to two hours for a scheduled transfer—something that had never been explained during my stay. Only after expressing significant distress was I offered an immediate pickup for an additional €45.

This response demonstrated a lack of urgency, empathy, and basic duty of care in a moment involving guest safety.

We stayed 2/13 to 2/17. We were upgraded to a higher floor. We had a club room with Acropolis view.We paid for room with breakfast buffet. The first breakfast was good. We were seated in the middle of the room. We had a view of the Acropolis from the 9th floor. The outdoor pool was closed. It is seasonal. We were not allowed to go up there. The room was spacious and clean. I will not rate it as a 5 star. There was a smell on the bed, kinda like mold. The tiles on the bathroom were crooked. Some days we had good towels and complete, some days we were missing towels or they were really old. They did provide robes and slippers. The lotions, shampoo and bath soap are luxury. The mini fridge, well the prices were outrageous. Pillows were flat. We requested 2 more. The day before we checked out, we were placed in one of the worst tables for breakfast. dont accept wait for a better one, partial view of the acropolis but if you are sitting on the corner you have a view of the construction. The club room was okay. You have a selection of alcoholic (cheap) and nonalcoholic drinks. The snacks were just okay. We were allowed to hang out in the clubroom after check out. No problems with staff, they were nice. The indoor pool was good but we did not use it dince we were too busy. We had a great experience in Athens. Near transportation, walk to bus stop. Uber/Taxi is affordable. There is a small market close by.

The Grand Hyatt has great amenities, having just been recently they were fixing up the external pools on the roof but given the weather we would not have been swimming. In total there are 3 pools externally and heated pool also. The staff were always very polite and helpful.
Our room was generous and it was lovely having a balcony which always makes the room feel a little larger. Breakfast was great, alot of variety and serving to 11am meant you could also have a little longer in bed.
The hotel itself is on a very busy road, albeit you aren't affected when inside the hotel, on foot it would take between 35-45 minutes to walk to the 'old' part of town which is very pretty.
There are some nice restaurants close by the hotel at very reasonable prices which means. We also visited the Flixvos Marina on a Sunday, had some lunch and people watched so would recommend that also.

The hotel location is not as centralised to Athens central, eg Acropolis and need a bus to get there. The room service did not replace utensils (spoons) that were taken from our room and when we asked from the chamber maid, she asked us to contact room service directly. We were too lazy to do so and The water bottles were not replaced at the same time as the room service but instead at night. There were several times knocking to our room at 8pm or so and if no response, cause we were already asleep, the person will let herself in to place the bottles.

Room and hotel is generally very clean. Driveway staff were always very helpful. Bathroom was frustrating as water goes everywhere slide to insufficient glass panel and there was nowhere to hang robes and towels. Rooftop bar has great views.

I paid more for my room than my friend . Our rooms were basically the same . I didn’t have a crunch in my room only a chair. Then the hotel didn’t notify us about taking the bus to the airport verse as a car service . It was way too overpriced

Everything in the hotel is extra. That's disturbing. Even the room cleaning and parking is extra. Room cleaning service isn't good. They really don't clean the room. We had ordered food one day and the floor was dirty. We asked the cleaning lady to clean the room. She said yes but didn't clean

Spacious room, nice spa facilities - 25m pool sauna and steam. Plenty sun loungers. Good location for access to city - 2km walk. Comfy bed. They also put a cake in my mother in laws room as it was her 80th birthday, with a personal message and wish - lovely touch.

It was actually very good the first 2 nights. We had to add a third night due to our cruise being
Cancelled last minute. We changed our flight to a 6:00 am flight and went to bed at 8:00 pm. At 9:00 we had someone try to get in the room. We called the front desk, who called back a little later It was housekeeping; at 9:00 pm. Nobody came the two nights earlier, so why? The front desk was very rude when I questioned as to why without a real response. The manager wouldn't
Come to the phone and wanted me to come down in person, and I only wanted to try to get some sleep., and of course couldn't.
