We stayed 2/13 to 2/17. We were upgraded to a higher floor. We had a club room with Acropolis view.We paid for room with breakfast buffet. The first breakfast was good. We were seated in the middle of the room. We had a view of the Acropolis from the 9th floor. The outdoor pool was closed. It is seasonal. We were not allowed to go up there. The room was spacious and clean. I will not rate it as a 5 star. There was a smell on the bed, kinda like mold. The tiles on the bathroom were crooked. Some days we had good towels and complete, some days we were missing towels or they were really old. They did provide robes and slippers. The lotions, shampoo and bath soap are luxury. The mini fridge, well the prices were outrageous. Pillows were flat. We requested 2 more. The day before we checked out, we were placed in one of the worst tables for breakfast. dont accept wait for a better one, partial view of the acropolis but if you are sitting on the corner you have a view of the construction. The club room was okay. You have a selection of alcoholic (cheap) and nonalcoholic drinks. The snacks were just okay. We were allowed to hang out in the clubroom after check out. No problems with staff, they were nice. The indoor pool was good but we did not use it dince we were too busy. We had a great experience in Athens. Near transportation, walk to bus stop. Uber/Taxi is affordable. There is a small market close by.

The Grand Hyatt has great amenities, having just been recently they were fixing up the external pools on the roof but given the weather we would not have been swimming. In total there are 3 pools externally and heated pool also. The staff were always very polite and helpful.
Our room was generous and it was lovely having a balcony which always makes the room feel a little larger. Breakfast was great, alot of variety and serving to 11am meant you could also have a little longer in bed.
The hotel itself is on a very busy road, albeit you aren't affected when inside the hotel, on foot it would take between 35-45 minutes to walk to the 'old' part of town which is very pretty.
There are some nice restaurants close by the hotel at very reasonable prices which means. We also visited the Flixvos Marina on a Sunday, had some lunch and people watched so would recommend that also.

The hotel location is not as centralised to Athens central, eg Acropolis and need a bus to get there. The room service did not replace utensils (spoons) that were taken from our room and when we asked from the chamber maid, she asked us to contact room service directly. We were too lazy to do so and The water bottles were not replaced at the same time as the room service but instead at night. There were several times knocking to our room at 8pm or so and if no response, cause we were already asleep, the person will let herself in to place the bottles.

Room and hotel is generally very clean. Driveway staff were always very helpful. Bathroom was frustrating as water goes everywhere slide to insufficient glass panel and there was nowhere to hang robes and towels. Rooftop bar has great views.

I paid more for my room than my friend . Our rooms were basically the same . I didn’t have a crunch in my room only a chair. Then the hotel didn’t notify us about taking the bus to the airport verse as a car service . It was way too overpriced

Spacious room, nice spa facilities - 25m pool sauna and steam. Plenty sun loungers. Good location for access to city - 2km walk. Comfy bed. They also put a cake in my mother in laws room as it was her 80th birthday, with a personal message and wish - lovely touch.

It was actually very good the first 2 nights. We had to add a third night due to our cruise being
Cancelled last minute. We changed our flight to a 6:00 am flight and went to bed at 8:00 pm. At 9:00 we had someone try to get in the room. We called the front desk, who called back a little later It was housekeeping; at 9:00 pm. Nobody came the two nights earlier, so why? The front desk was very rude when I questioned as to why without a real response. The manager wouldn't
Come to the phone and wanted me to come down in person, and I only wanted to try to get some sleep., and of course couldn't.

Lovely large hotel with all the amenities and services you’d expect from the Hyatt. Big rooms too. Great view from the terrace. Staff at reception were perhaps not super helpful in providing all information. In terms of location, it’s probably a tad bar to get into the main tourist area (20 mins - fine but not easy to go back and forth), plus on a main road / highway so not a pleasant walk.

High end hotel with amazing rooftop bar, pool and dining with a view of the Acropolis. Situated south of central Athens - great for the conference centre (next door) but is a 15min taxi/bus into the centre.

Not the best designed hotel room I've been in and as a designer the furnishing has overtaken functionality - small things eg the shower water soaks the whole bathroom floor, nowhere to hang out your towels or layout your suitcase for un/packing.

On the plus side - the bed was huge and comfy, able to Chromecast to the TV, full sized windows the width of the room, which flooded it with light, minibar if you use one and great service by all the staff.

Clean room - we are a family of 4 and our rooms were connected and it helped very much!!
Breakfast was included and had an enormous spread with continental and Greek. Very delicious and introduced us to variety of Greek cuisine.
View from dining room is the best!!
Location is great - next to couple of local restaurants and it’s a 20 minute walk to Acropolis - we ended up using Uber!

My first room didnt have heat, so i was moved to a different room which was fine. This is a big hotel. I was there for over 2 weeks, and the hallways were always dirty. The staff is not friendly or particularly helpful when i asked questions. If you're just looking for a short stay and the price is right, this might be acceptable.

We checked in on ‘Christmas Day and the hotel was fully staffed and the room was spotless. Great view of the

Sad to say the hotel's photos are far nicer than reality. Our room faced the street and the single pane window did nothing to stave off the car and motorcycle noise at all hours of the night. The location is not within walking distance, nor safe, to any of the historical sites. The only \"sights\" across the hotel are nude entertainment, so those with small children, beware.

Grand Hyatt Athens truly deserves its five-star rating.
The hotel is ideally located near the city center. The front desk staff were professional and welcoming, ensuring a smooth check-in. Our room was modern, spacious, and impeccably clean, fully stocked with high-quality amenities. Room service was fast and efficient, and the restaurant staff were experienced and attentive.

The *breakfast buffet* was incredibly rich — beyond words — offering a wide variety of high-quality options. The *restaurant on the rooftop* was simply outstanding, with breathtaking views of the *Acropolis*.

The *outdoor pool* was stunning, and the *indoor pool*, sauna, and steam room added a luxurious touch to our stay.

What truly elevated our experience was the *wonderful spa*. From the friendly reception to the exceptional massage therapists, every detail was perfect. Special thanks to *George and Areta*, whose magical hands transported my wife and me into another world. The spa was clean, well-equipped, and rivals those found in top resorts.

Highly recommended for a luxurious and unforgettable stay in Athens.

The employees at the Grand Hyatt Athens are friendly and helpful. They offer a convenient shuttle service that drops you off and picks you up downtown Athens three times a day. Additionally, the Blue and Green Line Hop-On Hop-Off (C1 and C11) stops are just a 2–4-minute walk away. If you buy tickets for all three lines, including the Red Line, for two days (which cost us €28 each), you'll get excellent value and see all the major sights. This popular hotel offers comfortable beds and stunning city views from its rooftop. We are two Canadians in their late 60’s and do travel a lot since retirement. It’s family- and dog-friendly, making it a very welcoming place. The room we stayed in had a private bathroom, which is not always guaranteed in Europe. Just a 3-minute walk from the hotel is an excellent, authentic Greek restaurant called Maeina. Their chicken and beef soup is served in generous portions and is delicious, plus they make an amazing gyro. We stayed here for four days in December 2025 and highly recommend this hotel!

The restaurant staff were nice and accommodating.
However, the location of the hotel is ok for public transport but when we were there, the buses, trains were always packed and crowded. We had to walk most of the time to access transport to nearby areas.
The pillows were not fluffy, need 2-3 pillows to feel there is a pillow.
The room service sandwiches and chicken nuggets were very dry, the creme brûlée was nice though.
The noise from the road can be heard even with windows closed, ambulances and cars revving was very audible.
The room was too small for 3 people but the bathroom was nice & big. The cooler fridge was not so cool.
Lastly, the elevators were too small and very slow particularly during breakfast hours.
I would give the hotel 3-3.5 stars out of 5

- under 6 not allowed in 1.25m depth swimming pool when life guard is present thats ridiculous even with the life vest
- 6+can only swim between 10-5pm

The food and drinks were a little price, but at least the food portions were very large. Enough for 2 meals. Some of the staff were very welcoming and nice, however, there were some that were not. Very disappointed about that. Due to that, I would not stay again, but overall, nice facility, clean, safe, but I’m really big on the staff. 5 stars for most, 3 for ‘some’ of the staff. *Also, I rarely write reviews, but this was needed. About 20 years ago this hotel was a Marriott and it was simply OK As the grand Hyatt, it is an exceptional hotel. The rooms are beautiful. The heating and air conditioning were perfectly. As is the case in most hotels room service is overpriced, but I rarely ate in the room. The lobby is exceptional. The staff are friendly and kind especially those who are Greek. This is a hotel that is in a transitional area of Greece-- 20 years ago was probably less habitable and only the intercontinental was here but now the modern museum is here. The Onassis center is here. There are numerous places to eat if you don't want to be in the center of all the chaos near Monsteraki Square I highly recommend this hotel as a New Yorker. The walk to the Acropolis, which is about 20 minutes seem like northing. For others Perhaps it might be a hike. The nearest metro is Syngrou Fux and it's about an eight when I walk for me about a 15 minute walk for most.

The restaurants had excellent options.
The best member of your staff was Konstantino. He was often the person who brought our room service to us, but he was much more. He gave us great tips on where to visit, best transportation and local attractions. He was an absolute joy to speak with every night. Thank you for having such a wonderful team member. He is an exemplary team member. He deserves praise and a raise. We definitely plan to return to Greece next year and we will choose to return to this wonderful hotel. Your staff was professional and nice.

What a beautiful hotel and staff. Beautiful lobby and room with jump pool. Delicious huge breakfast selection included in your stay with a rooftop view while you enjoy your meal. Rooftop infinity pools one for adults and family’s, poolside bar, I could go on and on, a great stay in Athens/Athens. Easy to get to places, taxis always available in center city and the hotel is a few feet from public transportation if that’s something you’d like. Flavour is a delicious restaurant near by.

Overall stay at the hotel was llvely, checking in desk staff were very helpful, however the doorman i found to be very unprofessional, unhelpful... he focused on anyone he thought he could get a tip from or earn extra cash from... mainly from men, which left myself a single female to communicate and navigate with the taxi drivers alone. With lobby staff recommending or referring me to the doorman made me very uncomfortable

Wow my favorite hotel chain officially !! I went on a solo trip from ny to Greece & the grand Hyatt felt like a dream ❤️, I felt so comfortable the bed was amazing & so were the soft marshmallow like pillows felt like I was sleeping in heaven, there are 3 pools in the hotel like amazing plus a long pool in the spa area so many options to take pictures & swim. The breakfast was also amazing it was buffet which kept my stomach happy only thing I would give it a thumbs down is DINNER ! Please have more options that are favorable. The hotel was super clean & luxurious & huge which I also loved.

Beautiful hotel. Only downside is that it is such a popular hotel that it is very busy during check out time and check in time. The lobby is very crowded and it’s almost impossible to get an elevator. So be patient. You’ll be waiting for a while. This hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly. The staff at the pool bar was not as friendly or attentive but overall this is a really great hotel to stay at and would choose it again.

i have an early flight, hence getting to airport early in the morning. i was told by travel desk that the policy is to book private transport. If there is no taxi in front of the hotel ,they cannot call taxi for me. that detracts from an otherwisefexcellent stay.

Beautiful hotel - rooftop pool is amazing and very comfortable. Wish there were hot tubs on the rooftop near the pool; found it odd that there weren't. Drink service was available although they don't speak English well and we had some language barrier issues with ordering.
We got room 157 which was only accessible from the downstairs pool area - we had a hard time finding our room as there was no elevator access to that room. Location is not close to the downtown Plaka area so be advised. Taxi ride was long but only 15 Euro.
