Was really happy with my stay at Sojourn. The staff was very friendly and invited me to a wedding that I attended with them. The room was very clean, modern and really nice. I had an outdoor shower and a front patio. The food was also really great, they had laundry service and were able to provide discounted transportation for e. My only complaint is that the pool was not very clear and clean and thus I did not swim. Other than that, I would recommend this place!

A slice of paradise.

Excellent staff made us feel so welcome. We spent two days not leaving the property. Great spa services, and outstanding food. Sweet scented flowers and an incredible variety of outrageously beautiful butterflies were icing on the cake of the gorgeous, mature gardens.

A little gem outside city center. We had written the hotel for pick up and our driver was Hav who became our driver the 3 days we were there. His English was good so it was perfect to drive to the floating city, Angor Wat and other temples since he could tell us much about it. Hotel is a small hotel who is really conscious about not using plastic, recycle, giving back to the community which is really great. By staying at the hotel you will support their good work. The rooms are a good size and modern, the pool area is small and cozy. The food is delicious so we recommend trying dinner at the hotel. Stay here instead of the big hotels in the city you will like it.

We stayed for 7 nights at the Sojourn over Christmas. What an AMAZING place this is! Cannot fault a single thing during our stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The villas are beautiful and it was so relaxing around the pool.
The food was also amazing, we ended up eating at the hotel most nights, delicious! Cannot recommend this place enough.

Amazing Sojourn Boutique Villas

Sojourn Boutique Villas are not in the main town area but its only a 15 minute tuk tuk trip.
The villas are nestled in a tropical type garden away from the hustle and bustle. The Australian owner also operates a couple of amazing tours all involving local staff. This hotel as well as the touring companying and Wild Poppy boutique give a % of their profits to an NGO called HUSK. Which gives back to two local communities for a better life. So win win situation.
Ps. food and swim up bar are awesome and so are the massages sessions.
The staff are taught English and are very attentive to thier guests.
What are you waiting for book!!!

This hotel is amazing - don’t hesitate.

So comfortable, so friendly, so beautiful. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, ever. We also went through the hotel for a driver (who was perfect) and tour guide, and took the cooking class. The others in the cooking class who weren’t staying at this hotel were jealous. I loved this hotel- they take care of you, leaving you with nothing left to do but relax.

Perfect oasis

I love staying here. All of the bungalows are beautiful and very private, the staff are super friendly and accommodating, the food is excellent. When I stay here I never leave the property for days at a time. The lush, beautiful, mature landscaping is a perfect environment for all sorts of beautiful butterflies, which you can enjoy while sipping cocktails and snacking at the swim up bar.

A Great Hotel with Wonderful Staff

I would recommend this Hotel to anyone staying in Siem Reap. The staff did an amazing job of accommodating us and were happy to set up tours, taxis, and activites. Everyone was persoanble and helpful during our stay. The pool was beautiful and relaxing on the hot afternoons.

I think overall the hotel is ok. But not perfect. I see some ants in room and in food. The food doesn't taste very good. Also they have a mosquito problem. So many. The rooms are nice with good ac. But the location of the hotel is terrible , so far from restaurants and the city. Overall I give it like 2.5 out of 5.

Secluded paradise

Although this hotel is a little out of the way, it is beautiful. The staff are informative and extremely helpful - nothing is too much trouble. The grounds and pool area are well kept and relaxing. The rooms are large, very comfortable and the personal terrace makes it special and secluded. Breakfast (included) was very good and we chose to eat there in the evening and again this was excellent. Don't let the location put you off (although the roads are a little bumpy) - we had a tuk tuk driver who came and took us in and out of town and even took us to Angkor Wat and stayed with us for the day! We loved our short stay and would recommend it.

Intimate and relaxed

Beautiful small boutique hotel with lush gardens and wonderful pool.
The villas are dotted around the grounds and huge. Plus they come with a mobile tablet which you can take out with you and also make phone calls from😀
All the staff be they on reception or housemaids speak good English, are always happy and willing to help with anything.
When we arrived at the hotel we both thought WOW!!! This is the type of place you would be happy to stay at if you were on honeymoon!

Quiet and friendly villa near Siem Reap

I spent 5 days and 4 nights at the Sojourn Boutique Villas. It was fabulous. My room looks just like in the photos. The room was large, with a good AC. The bathroom had a tub, shower, and an outdoor shower. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They organized transportation for visiting the temples, the night market, and a pottery studio. The food on the menu was excellent and so fresh, the drinks and cocktails were amazing. I would recommend booking the cooking class, you get to learn about Khmer food and spices while making delicious food. Most impressive was that the hotel is working with a local community to give back and is also trying to reduce the environmental impact: they provide a cloth bag for shopping, offer clean water so you can refill your bottle, use metal straws, etc. I will definitely be coming back.

We were initially put off with the drive into Sojourn but that feeling soon passed after meeting the manager \"S,K\" and inspecting our villa. Our stay was the highlight of our trip. Very relaxing after the hustle and bustle of the cities

Since I was traveling alone, I was grateful to be treated like family. I highly recommend this hotel unless you prefer to be in the center of Siem Reap with the action and traffic!

Delightful boutique hotel in Siem Reap

I thoroughly enjoyed my 5-day stay at Sojourn, with my own beautifully furnished villa and inviting pool. The menu was wide ranging and everything was delicious - from traditional Khmer to Western food. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay perfect. I'd definitely recommend Sojourn, particularly if you'd like a quiet beautiful location away from the hustle and bustle of Siem Reap. The city centre is about 10-min taxi or Tuk-Tuk ride away. I saw temples in the morning and enjoyed the pool, spa and restaurant in the afternoon and evening.

A rejuvenating long weekend trip.

Sojourn Boutique Hotels is a quaint property with spacious villas for rooms admidst a lot of greenery. The staff was friendly, caring and accommodating of all our needs especially as we required vegetarian food. The 2 free spa sessions that came with the booking was a good addition too. They provided us with a knowledgeable driver who took us around the all the major sites with fun stories about the history of Cambodia and Siem Reap. All in all, we enjoyed our time here a lot.

Highly recommended oasis

Easy from the moment we arrived. Collected at the airport by our driver who then took us to temples and other sights over the next 3 days

Hotel was in a beautiful setting. Lovely swimming pool. Staff even bought us an electric fan and plugged it in next to us by the pool on an especially humid day.
Khmer new year celebrations were taking place so some of the trips were not available which was disappointing but understandable.
Great ethos in the hotel supporting local villagers.
I would highly recommend staying here if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of siem reap. Easy tuk tuk into town.
Would have liked to have met the British owners who were unfortunately for us back in the UK

A Hidden Gem

The Sojourn Villas is a smal resort of eight separate bungalows and two rooms above the restaurant, all nestled in a tropical garden paradise. Our bungalow roon was large and comfortable and clean. There is a restaurant on-site; the included breakfasts were delicious. We also ate there most nights and can't understand why more guests didn't. The dinners and especially the appetizers were fabulous and the main courses were around $10USD. The staff was incredibly helpful, especially Mao, who eagerly made phone calls for us, ordered flowers for our friend and made sure our stay was what we wanted it to be. It's about a 15 minute taxi ride from downtown, but you can avoid the noise, dust and throngs of people. This is the only place I would consider when we visit Siem Reap again.

The hotel was extremely welcoming, professional, and thoughtful. I didn't use the spa but looked like a great menu. Great breakfast even for vegetarians. Really a great stay. The only issue was it was a little out of the way for the tuk tuk to get to but this was all part of the adventure for us.

A tuk tuk ride to restaurants or the palace area cost about $5. Aura Spa around the corner was great. Hotel had more of a hostel feel, with a lending library for books and dvds and laundry services available. We needed early check in/late check out during to our flight schedule, which they accommodated by letting us lounge by the pool when others were using the room.

Fabulous small hotel located on the outskirts of Siem Reap. What we found commendable about this hotel was its approach to the local community by giving people work and career opportunities.
It is small and very friendly and the staff couldn't do more to assist our stay.
Yes, it is some distance from the town, but that has its advantages as the hotel is a bit of an oasis after a days sight seeing. Tuk tuks can be ordered in minutes and its only a 5 or 7 minute ride into town.

Absolutely gorgeous place. The staff are very nice and always smiling. It felt like a home away from home. It littlest touches made such a huge impact for example the fresh flowers throughout the bungalow, the lemongrass oil burner, chocolates on the bed every night when they turned it down. It was lovely walking through the garden. We felt most welcome.

A bit far out of the city. A tuk tuk ride very bumpy and extremely dusty!! Located on a village which is cool but again far from action and the village had a wedding while I was there so it was a bit noisy. The place itself was lovely, the service warm and welcoming, the spa delightful, the breakfast varied with great food and choices and the restaurant very good.

More than promised, a great place to retrun to

From the minute Sokha met us at the airport, to the drop-of after the visit, it was an amazing experience. All the staff members, from the restaurant to the spa, the pool to cleaning staff were friendly and engaging. The rooms are spacious, cool (in a 36 degree Centigrade outside temperature) and everything worked, enough cupboard space and clean. The restaurant needs special mention, with a varied menu, catering for all tastes. We especially liked the local breakfast and the fried rice were some of the best we had. They organised two tours for us with the same guide (Mare Seng). What a great source of local and historic information, personable with a deep knowledge of the temples and the stories. We also used all the facilities, pool and spa and were impressed with the friendly and professional approach. This contributed to a great stay and as mentioned in the title, indeed a place to return to. It is important to note that the location is great for the visitor that wants a bit more peace and quite, outside the hustle, bustle and noise of Siem Reap, but near enough to visit and enjoy.

Way beyond excellent!

Sojourn has a wonderful staff and delicious food. They also have many sustainable projects with 3 villages. There are village walks, cooking classes and a day with a Cambodian family available to their guests. The grounds are beautiful and the pool is perfect. This is an oasis in the country and perfect for relaxing or exploring. Our most favorite place in a long list of world travel.

We had a delightful experience with Sojourn Villas. From meeting our midnight flight to the return ride to the airport we were well cared for by the team at Sojourn. The villas are lovely-comfortable beds, quality bedding, large bath towels, delicious bath products. The restaurant provided wonderful meals, make sure to have a 'take away lunch' packed for your day trips! We were grateful for the serenity of the grounds after a hectic day visiting the Temples. Don't miss the Origins Spa and take advantage of the cooking class. We appreciated the local sourcing of eggs, coffe and honey. We hired a tuk tuk driver for the week and were very satisfied with his safe driving and local knowledge. Our 25th anniversary was a trip of a life time, and the Sojourn was a key part of that experience.

A perfectly secluded hotel for your temple run

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was an absolutely brilliant rural getaway during our trip to SE Asia. The hotel is just outisde of town but that is excellent. It's only $3 into town on a tuk tuk for dinner and since everyone else in town uses them, it's nice to get away from the business of Siem Reap!
The room was brilliant! The temple villa is huge and the bathroom and outdoor shower make it even better!
The restaurant on site is also fantastic! The quality of food was excellent and the destination dining was by far the best meal we had in SE Asia!
The hotel organised a private driver for us to see the temples - it's the way to go! @ $35/day it offered AC, leather seats, ice cold water and cool towels to combat the 110 degree heat of the temples.
The only negative was the poolside service. Often there were no staff around the pool for drinks/food and so we had to walk through the lobby to find someone in our swimwear. A small negative but hopefully that'll be sorted by your stay!

More than we expected.

During a 3 week tour of Cambodia and Vietnam we stopped at the Sojourn to catch our breath. We were welcomed with a cool drink and small plate, and handmade jasmine bracelets which we left in our room to scent it for the duration of our stay. Sojourn's location in the country was a perfect setting, serene and tranquil. Our villa was lovely and well appointed.The staff at Sojourn spoiled us and took care of our every need. They were there for us day or night. The food in the restaurant is 5 star dining- service outstanding. Pool side was nice, in the hot weather the staff turned on fans to create a much needed breeze. Swim up bar was also a nice added touch. The grounds were clean and maintained daily. We did the destination dining experience to celebrate our 25 year anniversary - and my fiftieth. Highly recommend this experience for a couple or a group. Also did the cooking class taught by the staff and loved it from start to finish. Would recommend this hotel to everyone, couples, families, and weary travelers who are in need of some pampering.

Family stay at Sojourner

We had my husband's 78 year old parents join our family of five in Cambodia. The Sojourner was perfect for everyone. We liked being outside of downtown Siem Reap and nestled in a nearby local village. We did the 2 hour village walk and talk, for which I'm glad because it gave us more understanding of local life there. We stayed in 3 Temple Villas - they offered to upgrade my in-laws and kids so they could be near our villa. We had stayed in similar boutique villas in Bali but these villas were even better: patio table and 2 chairs on our little entryway, towel rack for wet suits, always restocked items, beautiful flowers in room, fabulous outdoor shower (we never used the indoor one), large bathroom, and my 7 year old daughter loved the cascading waterfall type enormous bathtub. We ordered cocktails, wine and beer at the small swim up bar, the pool wasn't big but all we needed for playing in the pool. The the padded lounge chairs and lounge \"beds\" around it were great. Kids loved the chicken skewers (served over burning coconut shell chip). Food was excellent. Always served on local Vietnamese pottery dishes. Staff extremely helpful. We would go for jogs in the local village and along the long streets. Had to avoid my geese nemesis that always waddled around one corner. Chocolate on beds every night. Planned a \"destination dinner\" which was served to our group overlooking a rice field. Curry was excellent. Came back to our rooms to find 37 candles lit outside

Great hotel away from the crowds in Siem Reap

A taxi arranged by the hotel picked us up at the airport and delivered us to the hotel with minimal effort on our part. The hotel staff explained breakfast which was included, the Spa (which my husband and I scheduled a body scrub, wrap and massage which lasted for 3 1/2 hours. Magnificant!), the pool and the arranged a sunrise tour of Angkor Wat and the Bayon.
We also saw the circus which was a fun experience. All of the staff was very accommodating and friendly. We ate dinner most nights at the hotel and we're never disappointed. Even the guests were friendly, relaxed and talkative.

A beautiful hotel, highly recommended!

Sojourn is a fantastic hotel and a great place to base yourself if visiting Angkor Wat. It's a little out of the town of Siem Reap which means it's a quiet oasis away from the bustle, but only a 10 minute tuk tuk ride away ($3 return, book at reception). There are 9 individual villas around a lovely pool (plus a room in the main building) so it's never crowded. Staff - friendly and attentive but not fussy - a special and relaxing experience. Breakfast good. Villa was lovely - large bedroom with sofa, desk, plenty of storage, iron & board, tea and coffee and basic free mini bar and plenty of free bottles of water. Huge bathroom with rainfall shower and huge bath & outdoor shower. Good quality toiletries! Nice touches - fresh flowers in room, turn down service (with chocolates and anti mozzie essential oil burner lit) raise it above the norm of good quality hotels. But one of the differences is that this hotel is also part of the local community. They employ local people (with excellent English) and also run trips to the local villages that directly help local families. We did the \"Day in the Life of the Village\" which was great - local market, ox cart ride, harvesting rice with locals, helping to prepare our lunch with another family, visiting school and workshop. A real insight to this friendly but poor country. Our day of temple visiting was well organised with a good guide, transport and cold towels - welcome in the heat and dust. Plus free massage & cocktail on return!

Perfect hotel in a hidden oasis

We thoroughly loved our stay at Sojourn. The staff were brilliant and the hotel itself was perfect in every way. The pool was perfect after a morning at the temples as was the Spa with the wonderful massages and facials on offer. The food was the best we had in all of Siem Reap.

The small touches, personalised service, giving back to the local community and developing friendships with the staff are all reasons why we would go back to this hotel - next time, longer than 5 days!

Great hotel away from the noise of town.

Our experience with the Sojourn began days before our arrival when we received an email request for our travel details so that the Hotel could arrange our shuttle from the airport. The shuttle driver was very pleasant and helpful. This level of service continued through out the check in, to room service and the overall experience at the Hotel. We had one of our better meals at the hotel restaurant.

A must stay in Siem Reap!

Amazing property, incredible staff and the food is delicious! We had two nights and also partook in a spa treatment that was incredible. In addition to the property being serene, the staff goes above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible and absolutely delightful. My only comment is that it is a little ways from the main town area but I preferred this and taxis or tuk tuks are readily available and cheap!

Very pleased

We loved our stay here. It was wonderful to return to the hotel after each tiring and hot day. The restaurant's food and drinks are superb. The free breakfast is excellent. We went to the spa daily and tried pretty much everything there: massages, wraps, lime hair treatment, facial. Recommend it all. Service was very good and the room was very comfortable. You'll enjoy this hotel.

Fantastic boutique hotel

We enjoyed every minute of our stay from the lovely welcome to our drive to the airport. The villas are beautiful and the staff is extraordinary friendly and attentive. We loved the tour with the guide, the second tour with the tuktuk and also enjoyed the good breakfast, dinner and spa. Highly recommended especially as the owner really tries to make a positive impact to the small village- see their website for more information

Quiet Relaxing Pampering

Location wonderful, 15 min by tuk tuk to Siem Reap, but secluded and away from the city hustle and bustle. Beautiful place, well maintained and nicely designed. Very clean. Great staff who tried hard to make our stay a good experience. The personal, small house style villa was new to us and we loved having the privacy-great design concept for guest accomodations.

Awesome for couples

I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday recently. The staff took excellent care of her. The rooms are ridiculous, very, very fancy. The swim up bar is great, you'll find everyone that works at the hotel to be very friendly and charming. There is no where to walk to around the hotel, but pub street and the night markets are only a short and enjoyable tuk tuk ride away that the hotel will provide for you.

Highlight of our Trip

My husband and I spent four nights at Sojourn in April 2014. It was, without a doubt, the best accommodation of our 45-day trip through southeast Asia. The physical space is luxurious. A small grouping of secluded bungalows surround a lovely swimming pool. The kitchen is first-rate. We enjoyed Cambodian cuisine at its very best. The spa was similarly impressive. But what makes the Sojourn so special is the staff. Most of the staff live in the local village. They are knowledgeable, professional and helpful in every way. If you want to experience a new generation of Cambodians, young people engaged, hard-working and interested in bettering themselves and their country, then this is where you want to relax after a hot day at Angkor Wat or an emotional visit to the Landmine Museum. We are so grateful for the kindness and genuine interest shown to us during our time there.

Brilliant...Goes out of their way for you!

There is excellent professional service, and there is going out of their way service and Sorjourn staff really took care of us in this regard. No hesitation when i asked to convert their sofa to a day bed for my 6 year old (instead of paying for an extra bed), arranging a replacement room for our late check out so we can shower before our flight (it's hot here!), to any of the dietary needs of my kids who are both allergic to some foods. Location is slightly outside of town but non issue with cheap and fast 10min tuk tuk rides and you benefit from seeing a bit of rural Siem Reap. First room could do with a mild face lift in some places, second room was minty. Overall - we just loved our stay which was always warm and welcoming. Highly recommended!!!

Lovely hotel

This is a lovely hotel, its very clean with spacious rooms and an excellent pool.
The food was very tasty and well prepared.
The hotel organised our trips to Angkor complex, we had an airconditioned car, our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent english, If you are going in peak season its worth contacting the hotel in advance if you want this sevice.
The only drawback with this hotel is the location, it is about 10 mins in car from the centre of Siem Reap.
Overall a lovely hotel to stay in and relax after a day at the temples.

High end vacation at a very reasonable cost

Sojourn had the most remarkable staff. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the service was 5 star! We had a very high quality massage everyday for a very reasonable price. Beautiful villas and grounds with even a swim up bar which I thought was another high end perk for a small and personal resort. The staff knew our names and arranged all of our tours, again for very reasonable rates. This included a private day of touring with a driver and tour guide, nice lunch, water, cold towels, a massage at the end of the day and a cocktail to boot. The temple passes were separate. It is a little ways out of town, but not enough to make it inconvenient. It was great to have a walking tour of the small village that the villa was situated in. An absolutely great buy for a high quality place. I would definitely recommend this resort

Great boutique hotel with a soul

Sojourn Boutique Hotel near Siem Reap is everything that it claims to be. The staff there is absolutely delightful and engaging, with a particular positive comment about Sukhum, Nary and Sopheaph (apologies for the spelling). They were very welcoming, helpful and fun. The setting is beautiful with gorgeous gardens surrounding the bungalows. The food was delicious for breakfast, lunch and dinners. We enjoyed the spa too which has great facilities. Two minor points in terms of what can create challenges: the loos in our room malfunctioned a couple times, but the team was quick to sort it out, and as we were there in March, there were weddings which are very noisy affairs in Cambodia. Sojourn was great at re-housing us for our last night, asd the music bass were unbearable. Nothing the hotel can do but Khmer grooms and brides might want to consider lowering the bass!

Lovely small hotel

We really loved our stay here. The hotel itself is very small - nine rooms in all I believe - each room is a small individual cottage and they are arranged in a lovely tropical setting around the pool. It is located outside of town in the countryside. However, it takes only about 10 minutes to get into Siem Reap by tuk-tuk or car. We would just let the front desk know when we needed transport in and they took care of the rest. A round-trip tuk-tuk was $3. We also arranged most of our excursions through the hotel which is affiliated with a local travel agency. Never any glitches - every activity went just as planned. The staff were superb. Friendly and helpful - we really enjoyed talking with and getting to know everyone. We also ate several meals (breakfast and dinner) and the food was always delicious. They have a cooking school and spa on the premises but we did not take advantage of those. Overall we enjoyed our stay and plan to return next year. For some folks - the locations outside of Siem Reap might be a deterrent if they prefer being in the bustling town - we enjoyed the quiet serenity.

Great little retreat!!

Never expected this place to be so comfortable, lovely retreat after hard work at home. Stayed here for 8 nights and loved every minute off it. Well looked after by the staff. Good transport organised by hotel including great guide. Took us to loads of temple sites, touristy and not so busy places. Only used Spa facilities on last day, big mistake should have done this more often.

A hidden gem with a great atmosphere

The hotel was an amazing place to stay. We stayed for two nights and were able to use all the facilities including the spa, swimming pool and restaurant. All facilitiws were fantastic and reasonably priced.
Only thing I would say could have been improved is a lounge in the room (terrace room) would have been nice.
Overall a great experience!

This hotel is owned by some Aussie's. It's not located where Google maps says it is when you try to find the location on Google maps. It's south of Siem Reap along a very bumpy dirt road. It was pretty rainy when we visited so the road was quite muddy at times but will dry during the day in the sun. The hotel itself is nice and the food is quite good however I didn't find either a great value when compared with the excellent food in town. While all of the pictures show individual rooms they do have two that are part of the main building where the reception and restaurant are located. When booking I didn't realize that was what I was getting however the room was large, clean and comfortable and all concrete construction so it was quiet which I prefer. They have contracted with some local folks to provide transportation from the hotel to town and back again which is billed back through the hotel which is very convenient and economical. We had an excellent driver as well who was very friendly but not very easy to understand. He knew the local landmarks well of course so could take us to anywhere we wanted to go.

great hotel in a poor location

The resort is located 4 km south of Siem Reap - in the opposite direction than Angkor complex. To top it off the last kilometer consists of dirt roads with myriad of potholes delivering a bumpy ride. It is smack in the middle of a small village and the drivers do not know where the resort is and you cannot walk to restaurants, shops or a market.
However, knowing that, the resort does everything and more to compensate for this inconvenience. It offers free transfer from and to airport by A/C car, it offers subsidized tuk-tuk to go to town (whole afternoon and evening 3 $). The pool is clean and you will have it pretty much to yourself and the garden is lovely.

The rural location assures that the air is cleaner and there is less noise.
Breakfast is wonderful the selection is varied, beautifully presented and fresh. Despite having captive audience the prices are reasonable. It is worth mentioning that it is in this resort where the top-reviewed khmer cooking classes take place so this should attest to the quality of food.

There is only one BUT.
breakfast is served from 6 to 10. Many visitors (including us) leave around 5:00 am to see the Angkor sunrise and beat the crowds. You will have to miss it or let your stomach grumble until 9 when you return from the morning sightseeing. Even cheao places lije Angkor Pearl ($25/night) understand it and offer take-away breakfast basket. Not si Sojourn, we went for half a day trip to Beng Mealea and got only some fruit.
our daughter who was not a guest of Sojourn ate breakfast with us twice and it would be nice gesture if the resort did not charge her once $12 and once $20 as we were not offered breakfast on the day of Beng Mealea trip.

Relaxing hotel

It is 10-15 mins by tuk tuk away from the city centre, but tuk tuk only costs you 3 dollars. The staff are friendly & helpful. The natural environment and the setting of the hotel is relaxing and wonderful. We had lunch at the restaurant there, food was excellent. They can arrange you tuk tuk to go out and back to the villa.

Great guide! Wonderful driver! Very nice hotel! I’d recommend it in a heartbeat!

Hotel service was simply great. Sokheurm greeted us and explained the features of the facility. Breakfasts were quite good and we had many other meals which were all well prepared. The staff such as Ms. Narong, Ms. Dany, and Ms. Nyree are just charming.

Our room, and the resort in general, is rich with character and everything was well serviced and clean.

Our objective in Siem Reap was to visit and photograph many of the temples in the region while avoiding the crowds. To facilitate this we contracted with Sojourn’s photography guide, Mr. Lim and an air conditioned auto driven by Mr. Lim Hav (a.k.a. Mr. How). We rose each morning before dawn and Mr. Lim positioned us in the ideal locations at varying temples. As we moved around and over the features he would point out particularly satisfying subjects, composition content, and on occasion orchestrate poses by monks or local citizens. Substantial historical and cultural perspective was also provided.

Consider a stop at the land mine museum which presents the problem of legacy weapons from the previous wars. Additionally there is a modest memorial to those lost to the Khmer Rouge within Siem Reap.

What you want to know...

I use these reviews to decide whether I want to stay at a hotel or not and they're most useful to me when they actually describe the hotel. So first, it's comprised of nine bungalows/rooms that are roomy, comfortable, have a comfortable bed, nice bathroom and their own private outside shower. The nine bungalows surround a small/medium pool, there's a dining room and a spa. Second, it's in the middle of nowhere and a bit far from Angkor Wat. Third, the place has a nice environmental bend and a great view of working with the locals to educate/train them so they develop skills and can work their way out of poverty. Fourth, the restaurant has a nice array of interesting, tasty but somehow not completely satisfying items on the menu. I ate at the hotel because there's nothing around and it takes 20 minutes by car to get anywhere and it was good, but there was always something that didn't seem to fit. Food is reasonably priced. Fifth, service is good, but takes time to communicate in English and they can arrange a driver/guide to take you anywhere you want to go. They're also very accommodating, allowing me to stay in my room a bit late as I had a late flight and nowehre else to go. Lastly, the spa is wonderful - inexpensive by any standards and really well done. So if you're looking for a quiet, know-your-neighbor if you want environment away from everything in a nice 4 star boutique hotel, this is the place for you. I hope this was helpful.

Everything was perfect (service, staff, food, their private tours, airport pickup). The location is ok, little bit far (10 mins by motor) from the center, but for my personal preferences, I'd rater stay away from the center, especially in Siem Reap. One little note, the hotel doesn't provide toothbrush and toothpaste, but you can get them from supermarket. Compare to other hotels with the same quality, its a bit pricy, but I respect their business, as they were actually helping their neighbors' village to build water pumps, water filters, etc, and I heard that they will return 5% of their profits back to the community. Overall, worth it, and you will love it!

An oasis away from the crowds.

From the minute we set foot into the resort we knew we'd have a wonderful time relaxing here.

The staff were wonderful from the get-go, very personable and genuine, and really keen to try and make our stay a memorable one. I can't speak highly enough of the staff, many of whom are from the local area. They knew when to approach and chat and when to back away. They are a credit to Anthony and Fiona who have created this little oasis away from the bustle of town.

After a morning out traipsing around temples (which were amazing) it was so nice to come back to Sojourn and just relax by the pool or have a massage from the many types they offered.

The city centre is only a short car or tuk tuk ride away and the hotel arranged a driver for us including airport transfers. The driver was great and couriered us for the whole week and was quiet happy to chat and tell us about life in Cambodia.

Overall this was a great place to stay if your 're looking for a quiet place to relax. The grounds are well maintained, the rooms are well looked after, the food was AMAZING (snaps to the chefs) and the staff were a joy to deal with.

Loved it, loved it, loved it and will definitely go back if I'm looking for a quick asian getaway!

Lovely tranquil villa based hotel

Stayed 4 nights in early September when hotel was fairly quiet and had a great time. Situated some 10 minutes drive outside Siem Reap and is a really peaceful oasis. Has beautiful grounds with small number of well appointed individual villas. Fantastic selection of butterflies in the grounds. Nice pool with small bar and surrounding sun loungers. Great restaurant open to the grounds has excellent choice including vegetarian options. Staff are really friendly and very welcoming and will do all they can to make your stay as perfect as possible. Hotel is linked to local village projects so supports local community as well.
Overall highly recommend it, would go back again in a shot.

This is a lovely quiet hotel, set in a small village not far from Riem Reip. The pool is lovely and the very swish bungalows look across it. There is even a bar in the pool - my kids loved eating lunch in the pool. The staff were really lovely and went out of their way all the time. We had a great holiday.

Great boutique hotel outside Siem Reap. Only 10 mins by Tuk-tuk to town. The staff was great and the villas were poolside. The spa was reasonably priced and we had a massage every day. We plan to return as soon as we can.

The hotel was lovely and they went out of their way to assist us in any way they could. They offered us a personal driver during our stay who was happy to pick us up and drop us off at any time of day. The guide they use for the temples is very knowledgeable and made our time there. The grounds were meticulously taken care of, the rooms are immaculate and the food was excellent. We loved the spa they have at the hotel which was a relaxing respite away long days looking at temples. My fiance and I have both travelled extensively and neither of us can remember a place that stands out as much as Sajourn did for excellent service.
