Thermostat hanging sideways on wall, some caulking in room and main hallway needs to be touched up, no stopper in bathroom sink. OK for one night's sleep. Breakfast selection limited. Needs a good inspection review before calling it complete.

Stayed beginning of April 2026. The hotel was bought out and is in the middle of a remodel. Our room was recently remodeled, and was fine however it wasn't completely decorated yet. No art or anything on the walls. The photos on hotels.com site do not reflect what the actual hotel currently looks like. Check in was fast and easy, the breakfast area is large with plenty of space. Breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast of fruit, cereal, waffles etc. It was very quiet even though it is right off a two lane road. We were only in 1 night, so it was fine. But might want to find somewhere else if you have a family that needs more space.

Old building/furniture and it shows despite a recent paint job in our room. We were told they were changing to a La Quinta hotel soon. The staff barely acknowledged our presence upon entering. And at breakfast, the staff (of 2) at the counter talked personal business and gossiped with another person (who apparently was well-known to them) -- we walked up and we had to initiate the conversation for check-out because they didn't engage us without the interruption. They all gossiped loudly the entire time during our \"breakfast\". It was still early and the hot items had a few tablespoons of eggs and a couple sausage patties left. I told the counter staff and they said \"the girl\" was gone. That they themselves would make some sausage patties, but one said to the other that the process for making the eggs would require \"stirring the eggs over and over and over\", indicating that would take too long. This was said while I stood there. No apologies or ANYTHING. Needless to say, they never refilled the eggs or sausage. They didn't even say goodbye or safe travels on our way out! Really poor service from senior adult women who have forgotten what their job description entails and what customer service is. We won't be back.

There is no kitchen in this room. The elevator is out of order. The outer front door is very slow to open. There has been a construction crew running noisy power tools in the room above me ALL DAY LONG, and I am a day sleeper, as I work at night. Housekeeping has ignored the DO NOT DISTURB sign on my door twice, and told me I need to be on meds when i complained about it. Front desk personnel are rude, dismissive and surly.

Overall this is a crappy hotel, especially for $81 a night. i will complete this stay as my employer is paying for it, but i will make sure we never ever ever use this hotel again.

When I got there, I was told that a 1 bed king was unavailable and had to settle for a 2 queen bed room.
The layout of the 1 king bed rooms are way better and easily assemble to me.
But otherwise it was nice.

I stayed one night at this hotel while visiting family. While the location, price, and staff were all excellent, the quality of the in-room maintenance and cleaning was disappointing, which would prevent me from staying here again.
The Positives
The front desk staff were friendly and the check-in process was fast and easy. The hotel's location is fantastic for accessing the surrounding area, and the price was quite reasonable for what I booked. The main areas of the room felt genuinely clean, the Wi-Fi was fast and easy to connect to, and I really appreciated the small touch of a night light in the bathroom.
The Negatives
Unfortunately, several maintenance and cleanliness issues made the stay uncomfortable:
* Pest Issue: The most serious problem was the presence of ants entering the room near the air conditioner. I even found one in the bed, which is unacceptable and a major issue for cleanliness.
* Shower Quality: The shower was frustrating to use. While the water pressure was good, the shower head itself was faulty, barely letting water out in most modes and resulting in a weak, disappointing spray.
* Deep Cleaning/Maintenance: The shower also needs attention, with missing grout and visible grime in the corners that requires a deep clean.
* Minor Issue: The toilet lacked a soft-close seat, resulting in noticeable noise.

Older hotel that has many uodates and was very comfortable. The room was clean. We were missing shower supplies but that was corrected the next morning. We chose the location for ease of access and breakfast buffet to save time as we had very little time in town. The first morning there was only carbs for breakfast. The heating tray for eggs snd such was prepped but there was no food. I asked about this and was told \"we didnt put any out\" that did not make sense as this was a saturday morning. The front desk clerk was rude about it as well. The 2nd morning there was sausage, biscuits, and what appear to be a frozen mini sausage biscuits that tasted like cardboard. I expected better, hoped for better but it was just sad. The morning/afternoon saturday clerk was further rude when i was looking for a plastic spoon and found the door to the breakfast area cracked open and popped in to grab a spoon. Her reply \"what are you doing?\" And stormed at me, i said i needed a spoon and she just angrily pointed at the front desk where there had been NOBODY when i walked into the lobby or I would have asked. Just rude. All the clerks were very young ad were not able to answer many questions. Most were nice and polite but a few need a bit more experience in working withthe public. I would stay here again as it WAS clean, comfortable and easily accessible. I just wouldnt expect to be fed.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent stay at your Kilgore, Texas location from October 3 through October 5. Unfortunately, my experience was far below the standards I expected based on your website and online listings.

Upon arrival, the cleanliness of the room was unacceptable. The floors were extremely dirty—so much so that walking barefoot left our feet black and sticky, including in the bathroom. The overall appearance of the property and staff was unprofessional, and the staff members did not seem friendly or approachable.

We were also very disappointed with the breakfast situation. Online photos and descriptions showed a full, appealing breakfast, but in reality there were only a few items available—dry toast, cereal, milk, and waffles. This was misleading and not what we expected when booking our stay.

Additionally, there were multiple maintenance issues. The ceiling appeared to have a leak, as both my sister and I felt water drops coming from above. The TV was unplugged in several areas, and even after reconnecting it, we found that only a few news channels were available—nothing suitable for children or families. In the dining area, the chair cushions were heavily stained and unclean, adding to the overall discomfort.

Lastly, at check-in, I was asked for a card to put on file but was not informed that a $100 charge would be placed on my account. Only after the transaction was processed was I told it would be refunded upon checkout. That la

We could not get the TV to work and front desk could not tell us how to get it working when we got off the elevator on the third floor. There was no AC in the hallway. It was so hot . the bathroom shower in the corner at the bottom had mold growing. When we went down to get breakfast, there was nothing The The coffee was water down. The apple juice was water down. There was no orange juice. The bread for toast was not fresh. There was only waffles and cereal. no meat, no eggs, nothing so I went to the front desk and waited, and some young girl came out of the back room and was dressed and looked like a hoodie shirt, not dress professionally and ripped up jeans this is supposed to represent Wyndham. I don’t think so. We’ve stayed at other Wyndham properties before was very unsatisfied with this one.

Check In was good. After that, not so much.
In the shower, the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers were all empty. The TV did not have any regular TV channels (no ABC, NBC, CBS, ESPN, etc.). All it had were streaming services. The bathroom sink was clogged with something, so it didn’t drain. The breakfast was really minimal….but there were so few people staying there, I can understand. Overall…very disappointing.

We had a number of hotels we could’ve choose from. We chose the Hampton Inn based on the brand name and the quality. This was easily the worst Hampton Inn I’ve ever stayed in. Every ice machine was was out of order. The washer and dryers are out of water. There is a musty wet odor on every floor. The floor is weak and gave when you walked on it. I literally thought we were gonna fall through the third floor. This place needs major upgrades in Hampton Inn needs to distance themselves from this building.

Loved the breakfast -- it was THE best free breakfast I've had at a hotel in long time.

Everything was extremely clean! And the showers were hot.

There were a few quirks. They were pretty stingy with the towels, refusing to give us enough for the number of people in our room. The air conditioner leaked, and the lock on the bathroom was broken. The wifi didn't work most of the time.

This hotel was nice, service was so friendly and the room comfortable. The decor had been updated and everything was very clean. My only complaint was the only outdoor seating area was small, for smoking and not shaded in anyway. Even in the mornings, east Texas is hot and a little shade would have been nice especially since I’m outside person it would have been a nice amenity. Other than that I would definitely stay again.

Good hotel, breakfast was good, it was clean, my room was clean. The only the was the room was never cleaned once we were in it. My trash was never changed during my stay. I was glad I decided to take out food containers so the room wouldn’t stink. We also had to keep asking for towels. I guess since they didn’t clean they never brought towel. So I kept asking daily and I saw the cleaning person on our floor when we would leave.

When we checked in, we discovered that our bathroom sink was mostly clogged. The front desk said there was no maintenance staff for the weekend. Yes, it was Memorial Day weekend, but we were PAYING to stay there, so there should have been maintenance. And clearly the bathroom sink had not been cleaned in some time because the clog would have been previously reported/fixed. We had no maid service, even though we stayed in this room Saturday through Monday evening, when we were finally given a different room that had a working sink. This hotel is not what it used to be.

I called prior to booking to ask if the swimming pool was open. I was told it was. We arrived, only to learn that it wasn't actually open. Area around the property was heavily wooded and it would have been nice to look at, if it weren't for all the trash littered in it. Breakfast selection was just ok. One of the ac units outside seemed to be on the fritz and making a lot of weird noises. Outside of the hotel looked like it could use some repairs too.

Furniture around the room is kind of scuffed up. Bathroom definitely needs an overhaul - especially the shower. Also, NO hot water. We were told it was because people going to see the Rangerettes were staying at the hotel. That's a great excuse - NOT. Don't rent out the rooms if you can't provide hot water to them. Staff really didn't care. Refrigerator was dirty.

The breakfast was much better than other comparable hotels in which we’ve stayed. It included hot items like eggs, turkey sausage and Belgian waffles along with the usual oatmeal, cereal and pastries.

The facility is well maintained and lovely. There’s easy access on and off the main road in Kilgore.

My only complaint, from a woman’s perspective, is that there wasn’t a separate place to apply makeup other than the bathroom. There should be a space in the room with a mirror for applying makeup and doing hair. I had to roll one of the ottomans into the bathroom to put on my makeup and do my hair. Because it was a last minute trip, I didn’t think to pack a magnifying mirror.

Again, if you remember to bring a makeup mirror and don’t care about monopolizing the bathroom to get your hair done, then none of these will matter. My husband certainly didn’t notice any of these issues. ;-)

Most horrible experience ever! First night, power outage. So, no air conditioning, no house keeping or clean towels. No hot breakfast meats. Second night, bathroom sewage came up out the basin, including black sludge and flooded all personal items on vanity counter tops, bathroom floor and room carpet. I unknowingly got out of bed onto wet, disgusting carpet. Which means, I could not shower or groom. Custom service was not helpful and seemingly unconcerned. In frustration and disgust, I checked out early and cut my family reunion trip short and drove from Kilgore Texas back to Orange Park Florida. In addition to a complete refund, I'd like compensation for destroyed hygiene and personal items.

The room and especially bathroom needs remodeling post-haste. I resented being told to press a button on a \"box\" behind the TV in order to recieve a signal. Otherwise the staff were professional, polite, accomodating and egar to please. Complimentary breakfast was tastey/delicious.
The most glaring observation was the extreemly condition of the bathroom.

Everything great, except…

Nice stay. Good hot breakfast. Only downside was since it was a full house, they didn’t have enough towels to give us for our second night.
