Excellent hotel. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I found it very clean, we did not use the gym but it looked very well equipped. We did enjoy the Hot tub, pool, cold plunge, and sauna. The best part as I knew rain was in the forecast, everything was on the roof and covered so you can still utilize everything. Restaurant was pretty good, I found adding the breakfast was worth it for convenience, good selection but it is buffet so i did not expect the best.

The rooms were huge! The staff was super nice and helpful and when we had problem with our room, we were offered a new one without asking.
The sauna and steam room are pretty neat, but it would be great if there would be some kind of warm relaxing room within the sauna area.
The breakfast was pretty good too! Even though I would love more cheese variation. All in all great hotel would definitely book it again!

Lindo hotel pero le falta entretamiento al personal para ser verdaderamente de 5 estrellas.
Durante mi estadía:
1- la housekeeper tocó una vez y en seguida abrió la puerta a las 7:30 AM para decir que quería hacer una inspección.

2- el SPA no tiene personal fijo asi que tuve que esperar 10 minutos para que me den una toalla y una llave para el locker.

3- Al final de la estadía, mientras esperaba a mi familia en un sofa en un lobby trasero, agentes de seguridad me dijeron que debía irme a otro sofa porque esa zona es restringida. Sin embargo, no hay ninguna señal escrita que indique zona restringida.

Un poquito de atencion a detalles les convendria para que puedan alcanzar un verdadero 5 estrellas.

Hotel claims to provide 5 Star amenities even though there was no air conditioning in the room - and not even a ceiling fan to circulate the air. The only option was to open windows, which meant hearing all of the city noise (cars, drunk people at night shouting/singing in the street, and sounds of the city). The room also didn't have a fridge provided, and there was no iron & ironing board present, but we had to specially request these.
The shower in our original room wouldn't switch off and almost flooded the bathroom - after switching rooms, the hot water even in our second room would take 5 minutes to heat up before each shower.
Rooms were very rundown, clearly in need of an update, and were not cleaned appropriately over several days.
Cleaners hoovering at 7.30am waking us up - also lots of banging noise from the ceiling which we could only assume was weights being dropped in the gym above.
Staff claims to speak English fluently but there were several misunderstandings which caused us problems throughout our stay (especially with Taxis being arranged for destinations we never said we were going to!). We were not advised at the time of booking that shower caps were mandatory to use the pools AND that the hotel would charge $5 each for them instead of providing them to guests for free as part of the hotel. No other hotel in Quito made this mandatory. There was also a mandatory 10% tip added to every bill without our consent and without us being told!!!

We have stayed here before and we generally find the quality and service to be good. There was a glitch this time, however. We had a 3 night stay. On day 2, we started to smell sewage in the bathroom. It became so bad, we had to switch rooms. Further, the pillows provided were uncomfortable and difficult to sleep on.

We stayed at a superior king suite from June 5-12. The GEM of this 5-star hotel was the STAFF. They were genuinely friendly, never hesitated to help, and were very professional. Transport service from airport was arranged by hotel and was reasonable ($31 one way per shuttle). The facility was very clean and our suite very spacious and comfortable. Hot breakfast was included and provided wide selection. I wished the hotel had AC but fortunately, Quito has \"cold\" weather this month, so, opening the windows helped (we
were on the 5th floor). The hotel is walking distance to the La Mariscal craft market, Plaza Foch, El Ejido
park, and Santa Clara market. There is quite a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and groceries in the area.
Taxi to Old town was about $3-4. One strange thing we observed in Quito was after 8 pm, the streets were devoid of people and hotel residents were not encouraged to roam the streets bec of perceived danger. But during the day, the streets were vibrant. My wife and I enjoyed our visit to Quito.

The breakfast buffet was huge and not the same each day. The spa on the room was fabulous. You must use or buy a swimming cap $5. but the equipment, hotub, and pool (small) were great.

I highly recommend this hotel
Mercure in Quito! Everyone was so friendly ,hotel restaurant and bakery was top notch! We felt very secured in hotel and around area. The only thing that was a minus for us was that our toddler couldn’t use the pool it doesn’t specify the age on site.
The manager was very helpful and instead upgraded us to a bigger place!!!

Very nice hotel close to everything. Metro station is within 10 min walk and it only takes 2 stops to get to old town. Many dining options of various price points nearby. The best part was an exceptional service of the stuff and the spa area on the top floor. The massage treatment was amazing.

We were told a “hotel shuttle” would pick us up from the airport. We waited 2 hours after landing and a taxi showed up. When we got to Mercure we were told we had to pay for the “hotel shuttle”. This means we could’ve taken a regular cab and not waited 2 hours!
We were supposed to get VIP status with our membership but there were no benefits honored.
The hotel itself is clean, room is OK. No heat. There is no fridge in the room. WIFI connection is on/off. You get 1 towel per person and have to call every day for a 2nd towel.
The menu and room service options are limited with nothing for vegans or vegetarians.
Location is 45 minutes from historical center.
There is not hotel shuttle.
There is no concierge service.
Staff will each give you different information.
Do not honor late check out.
Do not honor any VIP membership status.

Beautiful Hotel!!

I was blown away by this hotel! I was staying here for a tour and came a day early on my own. The price was phenomenal, the room was beautiful and spacious with a balcony and a lovely view, and the lobby was stunning. Pool had jets and an amazing view. Dinner and breakfast were good. Loved this hotel so much!

Excellent hotel for the money in Quito. Lovely rooms, nice rooftop hot tub. Excellent gym (although air con would be an advantage) and lovely sushi in the restaurant. The staff were lovely. You can leave bags in the storeroom and transfers and taxis are easily arranged and reliable.

Our room was spacious with a nice living-room area (couch, table, and chairs), so it felt really good at the end of the day to relax a bit around there. Hotel staff was very friendly and spoke English well enough to help us with activity reservations and getting a great taxi to the airport late at night. Hot breakfast was decent too, a great start for the day.

There were just a couple of really minor things, such as dirty corners in the shower and loose shower handle. Fixing these would be great!

Overall, great accommodation experience in Quito and I'd stay again and highly recommend it.

Overall the stay was good. We enjoyed the hotel. If you travel frequently on Hotels.com, they do not honour the gold status benefits. We arrived early. They offered us an early check in for $55.00. We showed them our reservation that stated clearly that our hotels.com gold status allows us “Early check in if available”. The front counter staff told us that “that only applies if early check in is available”. So we asked if the $55 dollar fess was for a different room. She said “no, it would be for our room”. We then said,” So it IS available?” She said “yes for 55 dollars”. So we paid the 55 dollars and they put 67 dollars on our card lol. Not a bad place but we cancelled plans to stay there for 3 days on the way out of Ecuador.

For a double room we had a suite type room, nice surprise. The restaurant was excellent. The room was cool (December) and there is no heat or A/C. But a heavy duvet made for quality sleep. The only negative thing was the single pane wiindows that even on the 7th floor do not block out the traffic noise...all night.

I was happy with this hotel. I paid for the shuttle service from the airport to the hotel, and at the end from the hotel to the airport, $25 USD, they were very diligent. The breakfast was excellent, they had different options, from pancakes, omelets, fresh fruits, cheese, different types of bread, and coffee. The room service was also good. The only flaw was in the room, the refrigerator was out of service even though they changed it. Overall, the hotel is excellent and is located in a good spot near most attractions.

Give it a go, you can't miss Quito

Great Hotel and would be happy staying there again.
They have heaters for the room just need to ask for it. Lots of hot water. comfortable bed
Has a restaurant, bar and café on site which is necessary since they roll up the streets around the hotel at dark.
They do have drivers and cars available at good prices to take you anywhere. Use them or a taxi after dark.

Hotel Mercure is a modern hotel and centrally located. We had a street-facing room and it pretty noisy all night from construction as well as it was the Saturday before Xmas. The breakfast isn’t something to write home a it especially if you’re vegetarian or vegan, there’s really only bread and fruit. They had oatmeal as well but it was uncooked. One of the staff members working breakfast misinformed us that an item was made out of potatoes and nothing else but it had ham in it. Thank god we discovered it while cutting to eat it and never ate it. When I said something to the guy working there he said no it has ham in it and didn’t offer an apology or assistance with what else they could do for us as in make something that we can eat. Regarding the room, it’s modern and nice. There’s plenty of electrical outlets, a good hair dryer, they provide two bottles of water and left a chocolate n our pillow during turndown. The water in the shower can take a full 10 minutes to heat up, especially if you’re taking a shower in the early morning.

This was our 3rd rreservation at Mercure Alameda-Quito. The staff is friendly & professional. All if the desk staff speak English and ususlly another language. The hotel is very well msintaied. The rooms are soacious & very comfortable. It is extremely well located...lots of shopping within walking distance, seversl small cafes/ restsurants as well as the hotel restsurant which is quite good.
There is a small well equipped gym on the property..
I will continue to go to the Mercure whenever in Quito.

Long waits for hot water. Beds to small. Beds so hard could not sleep through night. Said they would find better beds but didn’t have any. Charged close to 65.00 dollars Canadian to wash 2 shirts 2jeans 3 shorts and 4or 5 pair of socks. Door keys wouldn’t work about 5 times, got locked out of room. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone! One bed is against wall with toilet right behind it, very annoying

Modern, chic, friendly ..great rooms

Recently, we were \"stuck\" for 6 extra days in Quito; our tour had booked us into the Hilton where we had stayed for 4 nights ..it was fine .. but with the potential for up to 10 extra days because of Hurricane Irma (our flights home through Fort Lauderdale) we chose the MERCURE ... much cheaper per night and breakfast considerably cheaper.

The Mercure Alameda was only 3 short blocks from the Hilton ..booked it on Expedia.ca where it had a higher rating than the previous hotel .... and that rating was accurate. First great staff ..no so uptight as the previous. The room was huge, much more modern in design, great bed and bathroom facilities! No carpet!! Modern wooden floors much to our allergy-ridden selves.

We ended up there for 6 nights before we got our flights back to Canada! Excellent stay! We were impressed!
