The photos are not indicative of the hotel's current state. Overall, it's worn and outdated. When I turned down the bed for the evening, i was shocked to find cookie crumbs covering the entire bed. It appeared to be deliberate since the bed was made perfectly and didn't show any signs of being disturbed. I immediately reported this to staff and I was moved to another room. Since I made my booking through Hotels.com, I couldn't receive a refund or discount for the inconvenience. The best that was offered was a late check out of a 30 minute extension. I would not return or recommend this property. This is disappointing since it is in a great location near downtown.

The bathroom door looked like it had poop on the bottom, the bathtub had chips on the edge and rusted by the drain. The bathroom didn’t close even when locked. The bed was very squeaky and the plugs were incredibly inconvenient. We were in the room next to the breakfast prep room so starting at 4 am we heard them chopping things, I would hypothesize potatoes and fruit. We could also hear them chatting so no sleeping in for us. The front desk staff was very aloof but would answer questions when asked. Just about the only positive thing was the breakfast staff was so kind and had good senses of humor. We will not be back on our next trip up.

Staff was great. Hotel is dated, but cheap so you get what you pay for… literally. They originally put me in a room without a working heater (it was cold) and a sticky floor. They then moved me into a nicer room, but there was a noise all night that sounded like Darth Vader’s breathing. Breakfast was on par and their scrambled eggs were better than most. They also had Turkish coffee and free cookies which was a treat.

The staff is very accommodating and extremely friendly. The breakfast is much better than most Continental breakfasts and they even serve fresh Turkish coffee - my first time having it. My only recommendation would be to management to put a full size mirror in each room. that is the only downside to the hotel. I want to be able to see what I look like from head to toe before I leave; not just from waste up. The rooms are very comfortable and they even have a massage chair that you can use whenever you want for free.

The Sonesta looks a lot better in pictures than it did in real life. In real life, it's kind of shabby. It's like economy lodging with a few nice touches but can't escape its origins. There was florescent lighting in the bathroom, a hole in the bathroom ceiling that looked like maybe someone had cut an opening for a new light but never got around to installing it. It was relatively clean but not thoroughly cleaned—there was still dirt in some corners, dust on some surfaces. A coffee machine in the lobby that was turned off (did it not work? was it simply off? who knows). The heater in my room was apparently broken (still cold after running for a few minutes) but I was too tired and it wasn't *quite* cold enough for me to bother contacting the front desk about it (I was warm enough under the blankets).

The bright spots were:
- pet friendly (like *very* pet friendly)
- wonderful free breakfast!
- bed & pillows were comfortable
- shower had decent pressure and plenty of hot water (when I showered late at night)
- minifridge & microwave in the room
- relatively affordable

I'd consider coming back here in a pinch, but I'd look for a nicer hotel first.

From the greeting to the exit... I was genuinely impressed..
Unfortunately, good customer service is a lost art; however, Sonesta seems to have unburried this treasure.. they were genuine, the rooms were fully stocked with things that you might have forgotten at home and exceptionally clean! There were ample towels, washcloths et cetera, and an extra blanket.
The rooms are accessible through the lobby, only, as they are encased within a enclosed structure.
You cannot hear anything from the outside, nor from any other rooms. Blackout blinds and very comfortable bed with awesome linens. One could definitely catch up on much needed
rest before taking that next adventure, or the long drive home.

PS There is an extra plus because they are pet friendly...;however, there is a charge, albeit a small one, one cannot find a hotel with all the amenities AND pet friendly, too.

Love this hotel. The staff are always so kind. The breakfast and Turkish coffee bar are phenomenal. The massage chair is great! It’s quiet and clean and on the same parking lot as Vacaville Ice Sports so we can walk right over for tournaments. We always look forward to staying there. The center courtyard is so pleasant. Only negative feed back is the ice machine and water dispenser needs an update. Other than that we love it!

I've stayed here before and didnt have any issues but this stay started off bad. I called to ask if any rooms were available before 3pm and they said yes. Normally places will let you check in like an hour early with no fee. I drove 9 hours and I was exhausted and I didnt want to wait an hour. I checked in at 1:55pm and they made me pay $35 extra! Ive never had to do that before and the clerk had an attitude on top of it. Then the next morning there wasnt any water to take a shower or use the toilet. They said it would be back on around 2pm. I had to check out at 12pm! If they had to do work, do it late when everyone's sleeping. From what I was told, it was a planned shut off, not an emergency. Also, I'm noticing more homeless and people smoking weed out front. Needless to say, I wont be back.

As I’m checking in, I see a sign posted that says the water will be shut off the next morning from 9 to 11 AM so I feel that was not good to take bookings, knowing that those people are unaware that they don’t have water at that time so I set my alarm for 8 AM to make sure I get a shower. I turned the water on at 8:12 in the water is off. I expect to be reimbursed for this trip if I can’t shower what’s the point?

Every time we moved, rolled over or got up, it woukd let out a loud squeek... we stayed here as a half way point to oyr destination, so we could continue the next day refreshed. The property was clean and very pet friendly. It had a grass area with dog poop bags available. When you walked into the hotel, they had water bowls available for the dogs. The room itself was very nice and clean. It had a dog bed available in the room.
