Staff were exceptionally amazing. They are friendly and attentive to each guest, always willing to assist. The location is at the heart of BGC and so close to shops and restaurants. Me and my kids also love the breakfast buffet that has lots of yummy selections. We'll definitely consider F1 again when we're back in Manila.

The hotel is in the perfect location for anyone traveling to the Philippines for St Luke’s. The walk was very easy and convenient. The room was a great size and the hotel was fairly quiet. There were some nights that you could hear the street traffic, but it wasn’t distracting or unbearable.
The restaurant was great. Lots of options and open all day/night.
The staff was amazing from the concierge to the front desk, to the restaurant and housekeeping.
Although the room and hotel may seem a little old, it was well kept, so it made up for it.
My biggest gripe was the fitness center. The treadmills are very old. The hotel having a fitness center was a big reason we selected it, so I was very disappointed in the treadmills.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at this hotel and found it to be a pleasant experience overall. The location is particularly convenient within walking distance to a nearby mall, which made dining and shopping easily accessible.
The hotel also provides thoughtful amenities, such as umbrellas available for guests to borrow, which came in handy during rainy weather.
One suggestion for improvement would be the addition of a designated seating area at the ground floor main entrance. Having a comfortable place to wait for transportation would greatly enhance the convenience and comfort for guests during check-out or while awaiting rides.

I don't normally review hotels but .......

Do not recommend - there are other good hotels in this district in this price range.

Major issues with the general maintenance of the rooms and fraudulent charges.

After I had left the hotel, they tried to charge me for damaging a hand towel that was never used or even taken off the towel rail. They backed down after raising a dispute. The charge wan't a lot, but it is the principle. I recommend photographing all your towels before checking out of the room.

Shower taps were damaged and not easy to turn on or set the correct temperature - the hardware needs replacing. My colleague's room had a similar problem and he couldn't turn the shower on at all. Shower pressure was not good.

Room master light switch was faulty - it turned on sometimes , or flickered on and then switched off. Only worked after a few attempts.

The room cleanliness was good, and the dining staff were attentive - the breakfast menu was average and not particularly varied.

Arrived almost 2 hours before check-in time but front desk staff was so accommodating and gave me a room instead of having to wait for 2 hours. During breakfast time, one of the waiters named Ray saw me sitting in a table occupied by other guests I didn’t know. He offered to transfer me to a solo table. It’s these small acts of the staff that make a place worth going back to.

- Laundry services: Good but tremendously inflated/overpriced.

- Stale, unpleasant smell, 7th floor hallways.

- Security deposit: Inflated/overpriced.

+ Omlette bar was good on the 3rd floor restaurant.

+ Everyone was friendly, however, no awareness and lack of training at security entrance. They assume every young woman coming in a little late in the evening is a prostitute and don’t have a current hotel manifest to check against ID.

- Check in/out counter on the 5th floor: Customer service rep, male, embarrassed another couple during their check-out process about stains on the bed in front of me and others. That should have been conducted in private. That is more lack of training and etiquette.

Weekend Hotel Stay at BGC

We chose this property for its location. Very convenient.

However, improvements are needed. Upon check-in, the wrong set of luggage was initially sent to our room. No big deal.

Our room was next to Residential units where several paper notices had been left by the doors, cluttering the floor of the hallway and in front of our room. Wouldn't it be better just to leave a phone message with the unit owners that they have notices which they can pick up at the concierge?

Unless you're arriving / leaving at very early / late in the day, the elevators can get really crowded and the wait can be significantly long.

One thing that really needs attention is the condition of the property. Our room smelled unpleasant & musty. Housekeeping came by to spray some kind of freshener but did little to improve the air quality. The drapes need washing and had holes. Also in our suite was a glass dining table. But no dining chairs. The shower had a slow drain.The sink had no stopper. USB outlets would have been nice as well.

On a positive note: the staff was fantastic. Service was impeccable.

Overall, my experience was very good. I like the location of this hotel. It's a walkable distance to High street. Service was excellent in the restaurant and room service was very responsive to all issues that i had. Only complaints i had were the wait times for elevators, it is a popular hotel and there were many guests. The swimming pools were excellent, but the water was cold to swim. Maybe a solar heating system could be installed to heat the water.

The worst hotel I’ve stayed in, in Manila.
1. Room has a consistent moldy smell
2. Coffee was never refilled although it’s complimentary.
3. WiFi service never worked although I was given 2 passcodes for 6 devices I only have 5 devices.
4. Check-in/Check-out staff were unhelpful and gave scripted responses instead of actually trying to help you.
5. The Gym is smaller than the room
6. The room has 3 wardrobes and 6 hangers
7. Complimentary toiletries were discarded by the staff and never refilled.
8. House keeping never came, even after requesting twice
9. Breakfast was not refilled, many dishes unavailable during busy hours.

The only good thing about the hotel is the friendly waiters at breakfast that made our stay tolerable.

Seda hotel is a far superior choice nearby for similar price.

Only stayed one night but what a great stay with a beautiful room and amazing service. We arrived at 2am and the front desk reception was more than willing to hold our luggage before we were able to check in at 2pm. All staff was friendly and plenty to do within walking/scooter distance. My advice is download the Moovr app since they’re so cheap to rent and you can ride around most of the BGC area, which made it a lovely experience

The staff were great, but I had issues with a leaky shower which I reported but still wasn’t fixed.
They hotel need to more flexible for international travellers who arrive in the early hours, the hotel were very inflexible about checking in early after an 18hr journey to get to Manila.
Also not all the lifts were working which delays getting in and out of the hotel.
Another guest told me that a person got stuck in one of the lifts for an hour (but I don’t know this for sure).
The staff were great but the hotel needs some TLC/new paint/a good clean in places.
It is however in a good location and if the above were fixed I would stay again as staff were professional, attentive and helpful.

It seems the property was a wonderful place to stay when it was brand new. But it needs a refresh since the furniture in my suite was tired-looking and worn. I was disappointed in the laundry service since it was late and they didn’t iron my dress shirts. It's a decent hotel for the price. Typically average fitout standard. Had to move rooms twice. Aircon broke down the first night, the second night I was moved to a PWD room on the 6th floor right beside a mass of airconditioning units with a fairly noisy hum all night. The third room was quite acceptable though. The beds are quite hard. I don't mind a firm bed but these were very firm. Must be new as I don't remember them being this way on my previous stays.
