We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, making check-in smooth and stress-free. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable, with all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay.

The location is perfect—close to everything, I especially appreciated the attention to detail, from the quality of the linens to the excellent housekeeping service.
Definitely we're coming back!!

I had a small problem in room 211. But it was rectified instantly. The staff were awesome, and if you like seafood. The seafood soup is a must. I had it for three nights straight. It rained a lot while I was there. But I had a great time. The airport shuttle was there on time patiently waiting for me. This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.

The hotel uses misleading or false advertising regarding the price. The advertising, which shows a picture of the hotel, states that the price is inclusive of all taxes and fees, but then when you arrive at the resort, they ask you to pay a $75 resort fee. We arrived late at night so we had not been able to utilize the resort and they only offered us one extra hour of usage of the kayaks even though the extra $75 brought us above budget and we would have chosen a different hotel. Also, the beach on the picture is not really a beach. It’s sand on top of land and then there’s a 4 foot drop with rocks. It’s a straight drop into the ocean. There isn’t really a beach. The hotel operator did point out that when you click to pay there is a small line that says that there is an additional fee, but I did not see it and it’s confusing it best and deliberate at worst.

I recently stayed at Hodelpa Gran Almirante Hotel & Casino in Santiago, and I cannot speak highly enough about the staff. From check-in to check-out, every team member was respectful, gracious, polite, and genuinely inviting. It's rare to find such consistently excellent service, and it made my stay truly memorable.

If you're looking for a good place to stay while in Santiago, Dominican Republic, I would absolutely recommend this hotel. The staff's dedication to guest satisfaction sets this property apart, and I have no hesitation in suggesting it to anyone considering a visit to the area.

We rolled into Santiago later than we hoped, but honestly that drive from Santo Domingo turned out to be half the fun. There’s something about watching the landscape shift outside the window that makes the miles fly by.

Just after 5:10pm in the afternoon we pulled up to the hotel, road weary yet excited. The front desk crew greeted us like old friends, smiles all around. They walked us through everything we needed to know and even handed over vouchers for a welcome drink. Sweet idea, though it missed the mark for me I do not drink alcohol and sugary drinks aren’t my thing either. Maybe next time they could keep a crisp sparkling water or something similar on standby for folks like me.

The next morning, still riding the high of a great breakfast, I stopped at the concierge desk. All I wanted was to lock in a deep-tissue massage for Saturday the thirty first. No fuss. Within minutes I had two bookings: mine at one in the afternoon for an hour, and another at 2:15pm for my friend, half an hour, my treat.

Fast-forward to Saturday. I strolled into the spa at 12:50pm, already melting into relaxation mode, only to hear the therapist say she had just taken someone else for my slot. My jaw nearly hit the floor. I asked when that person had booked and, sure enough, they would reserved about five hours after I did. Any spa worth its salt sticks to first-come, first-served scheduling, not whoever wanders in first. They offered to fit me in the next day, but I was checking out.

Was offered an upgrade to the club level at $55 per day for 4 days. Was the charged almost $300 for the 4 days. Was told we would get free drinks all day on the 5th floor. Free drinks was only wine and beer from 5-7pm. Lots of false advertising. Was supposed to get turn down service. Never received turn down service. One day we also didn't get housekeeping and had to request housekeeping. 2 30 minute massages were provided and the massage therapist was excellent.

The hotel is nice and conveniently located, however it is old. Due to this, the acoustics isolation of the rooms is terrible. If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful stay, this is definitely not the place. At the first room I stayed, I experienced 2 rooms in the same hall that had very loud music on. No one at the hotel is looking after this. The hotel has a casino so there is some prostitution going on. The room next to mine had a female prostitute called in and I could hear all the heavy activity going on as if it was in my room. A family with kids could have been in my place. I had to request a room change. The new room was an improvement, however I was moved to a room with a window next to the pool where loud music was being played on a daily basis so a quiet time was hard to get during my stay.

Hodelpa was great! Without prior asking we found their transport van at the airport and hopped on without issue (free shuttle). Rooms were very nice , spacey (though I did have the bigger room) and their pool and spa was great. Food was delicious - the AM breakfast was free but dinner was American prices $$$. Free massage chairs were amazing. Easily walkable to pharmacies , eateries, and shop centers

I really enjoyes Everything from the staff and how they all espere very professional, always charismatic, excelente servicio, on time in picking me up from the Airport and taking me to the AirPort. I stood two nights when I got there and I si lo es my stay that I stood one night before leaving the country. The most important thing is that my child fell safe and comfortable.
