Beautiful part of Sardinia; the public beaches around are gorgeous and pristine; the staff at Aethos are really excellent; the restaurant is good. Sophisticated, great for couples and yet also child friendly without being overrun by children.

For the price it is not worth it. The staff is very friendly and the architecture is beautiful. That is where the positives end.

It is not on the beach and it is not walkable. The nearby beaches are crowded and you have to take a shuttle. Once you get there they are public and packed. If you are expecting a true beachfront luxury experience with food and drinks served on the sand this is not it.

The property itself has a million steps. The views are nice, but Sardinia has plenty of places with equally beautiful views at a better value. Unless you plan to spend all your time at the pool and buy every meal on site, the location really does not work.

It does not feel luxurious overall. We saw several other disappointed guests as well.

The staff was very sweet and did their best. Their uniforms were adorable and I genuinely appreciated their kindness, but the location and setup of this place make it hard to recommend.

Wonderful hotel with great staff, views and a very high quality breakfast and pool areas. Dining options were good although the BBQ meal was very overpriced for the end product. As with many hotels it is hard to operate a fine dining restaurant in the same place that breakfast is served. Walking distance to Canningione and different beaches. Excursions via Cannigione are excellent. I’d stay here again

This property isn’t for vacation, for one night stay.All rooms have a private pool,but there is no swimming pool in the hotel,there is no place to hang out with friends or other family members.Hotel doesn’t have a beach or some separate area on the public beach.Again,if you planning to stay one night it’s worth it,This hotel is not for vacation.Stuff was very nice and helpful.

We stayed at Aethos and couldn’t have been happier. The grounds are gorgeous, the food is good especially breakfast, the pool and facilities are beautifully designed and well maintained. The staff was excellent and service was second to none. The area was really convenient in accessing many of the local and famous beaches and restaurants. I am definitely going back.

This is the place to stay when traveling to Sardinia. Not in Costa Smeralda, but very close to beautiful beaches, tourist attractions, golf and boat tours.

Best Hotel Ever

Everything about this hotel was a 10/10. We went there for our honeymoon and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for an extremely relaxing and restful vacation. The food is some of the best you will find in Sardinia, the beds are incredibly comfy, the staff is welcoming and kind, the views are stunning, and the amenities are top notch. We’re not quite sure what demographic the hotel was aiming towards. It clearly wasn’t the experienced traveller.

There appeared to be a recent change of management because the communication at the front of house and the residents was very poor and inefficient. One example would be when quoted on transport or an activity there always an extra surcharge to be incurred and only explained at the last minute.

All dining experiences needed more considered action and refining.That said the waiting staff worked very hard and were very attentive. The wine list was good.

Rooms clean but small and limited views which weren’t explained.

Overall - a long way to go with very little to do and poor service.

The hotel staff were outstanding — warm, courteous, and incredibly responsive. Anything we needed was just a WhatsApp message away. Always smiling and genuinely eager to help, they made us feel completely at home throughout our stay.

A very special mention to the Experience Team, who went above and beyond to make our visit truly memorable. I had arranged a private sunset yacht with a surprise dinner to celebrate my wife’s birthday — and they ensured every detail was flawlessly executed. It was magical. Two different pool areas.

The gym is one of the best Iv seen, also the complimentary yoga and sound bath is a must with amazing views and very relaxing.

The room was comfortable but felt a little small. We booked a deluxe room with sea view, but can’t fault the hotel as they offered to change room.

The WhatsApp service was excellent and efficient.

The location is good for walking into the local village with a few restaurants and shops and right beside the sea.

We had a hire car and they park the car for you.

All the staff we very helpful and friendly:)

Would recommend stay here for a few nights and moving onto a different area.

If I have to find anything to mention it was that there should be no music played by the infinity pool to enhance the tranquility if the space , and no smoking at breakfast or by the pool at any as it makes it unpleasant for those who don’t smoke.

Our stay at the Aethos Sardinia was sublime! From the start we were welcome with a lovely surprise cake for my sons bday and was even upgraded to a bigger room! The sea view was amazing and just so tranquil, followed by exquisite breakfast! Everything was so comfortable. We were looked after with extra special care especially Ricardo the experience manager who was so kind and helpful aswell the lovely Nahir who always greeted us with a smile. They both made our stay extra special and would go back again in a heartbeat just to experience the tranquillity of it all! 🙏

Absolutely loved Aethos Sardinia. Amazing service, from Ricardo at the front to Michaela for sunrise yoga, to Nacho at breakfast, they all made me feel like I was at home. The grounds are beautiful, it feels like a wellness retreat with how well they take care of you. The food and breakfast was spectacular, views were amazing, room was perfect. What a delightful experience. While the hotel provides amazing views and a wonderful location (a minute to the beach, 10 min walking to downtown), it is really the staff that puts it on top. We felt taken care of throughout the stay and they went above and beyond several times. Careful selection of only fresh and local ingredients for all of their cuisine. They have undergone new management and a big refurb so better take advantage now before the secret gets out. Thank you all for the experience!

We had a wonderful stay at the Villa del Golfo. I could not say enough good things about the staff who were friendly and attentive to all of our needs. We forgot our adapter and Marino was able to find one for us quickly. The manager, Giovanni, was amazing, and made sure we knew all the features of both hotels. He even gave us a tour and explanation of the sister hotel when we went there for a spa treatment. The spa was very exclusive. There were only four people allowed in at a time to use the circuit and the body treatment I received was done with all locally grown ingredients, and one of the best I’ve ever had. Even though the Villa del, Golfo does not have a beach they do have transportation to a Beach very close by. If you want a Lido there, you need to reserve it as it is not associated with a Hotel the hotel does however, have a dock you can walk to and swim with chairs there. There is so much more we can say, but we would definitely stay here again highly recommend.

Great and beautiful hotel! The breakfast is incredible and it’s the type of space where it’s impossible to leave and not feel at peace and rested. Warning they do charge 30€ to get anything ordered to the beach deck or for room service which feels too extreme to me. The prices have gotten a bit outrageous, but everything else is great. I went in 2019 and it’s maintained the quality since then.

Sadly there is no mention of the road that bisects the hotel water front and runs right past the restaurant and the pool area. The decor is tired, dated with an abundance of 70’s ‘orange pine’. Restaurant is ok - nothing special although restaurant staff pleasant. No atmosphere and bar area is dead with staff wandering aimlessly around. Town is dreadful although to be fair hotel is located in a residential area...with beach and beach clubs some 3km away. Yacht though is well worth a trip and the massage and gym good.

Villa del Golfo - Wonderful!

Everything from start to finish was wonderful. The staff had everything ready before we even asked. Breakfast was delicious. The view from the hotel is perfection as is the location. We rented the car from the hotel and the entire process was easy and the car was great (and necessary). Overall it was a wonderful experience and we will recommend to friends and family. The hotel is very nice and located in a good location to visit Costa Smeralda. It is about 20 min drive to Porto Cervo or any beaches we visited. It has beautiful sea views from all rooms, restaurant and pool. A big plus for us was that it has a beautiful sail boat that takes clients to a day excursion around the island but make sure to sign up for it the day you get in because it gets full as it only takes up to 8 people.

This hotel is a paradox. Our second visit. We like the excellent breakfasts and lovely views at breakfast. The friendly reception staff, the excellent private boat trip. Rooms are clean and reasonably appointed

Not so good. No beach close to the hotel, just an unusable portion of shore line which is so rocky it's almost impossible to wade into the water, the hotel is very expensive given its location. You're basically paying for the view. Evening food is moderate. You need a car to benefit from staying here. Pool is small and the area around the pool is crowded with sunbeds. None of which benefit from parasols which afford users my=uch shade as they are static

As far as rooms go, only superior rooms are worthwhile as they feature full balconies and superb view

Fantastic views over the bay of Cannigione. Great location to access by car all that North East Sardegna has to offer. Cannigione is small, but a great way into La Madalenna via the ferry from Palau, 10km way. Hotel restaurant food is worthy of the best foodies, wine list is excellent. Service is of the highest quality. Go to La Colti, a restaurant affiliated w the hotel.

This is a lovely hotel - a nice place to stay

Although the hotel is great, it could be even more successful, without losing its considerable charm,by introducing a few informal dining and relaxing options. As well as the elegant formal restaurant, it would have been nice to have an informal coffee shop on site to provide light lunches and mid-afternoon snacks. It was perfect for a family with older teenagers, so an activity that would suit them - perhaps a table-tennis table - would be an advantage. It's in a beautiful location. Amazing views, easy level walk to the village. Just a few more contemporary touches would make it perfect.

We stayed at the hotel for a few nights. It is very nicely decorated but the staff and the food is very disappointing. The food was overcooked and for that overpriced. We had a terrible turbot as well as lobster spaghetti which were really old. They charged 60,- Euro per portion and the taste was worse than in a home for elderly people. We have lived in Italy for a few years and know that every cheap restaurant could do better.
The mini bar in the hotel was not refilled regularly.
We had ants in our room, especially in the bathroom. Additionally the bathrooms are very dark.
The beach club didn't offer any drinks and the sunbeds on the beach had to be paid extra.
The pool area is overcrowded with way to many sunbeds.
The waiters regularly forgot orders and it took ages until they served the food. The hotel is ok if you need a cheaper stay in Sardinia but only to spend the night. The view from the rooms is quite nice

We enjoyed our visit very much. We had the Yach trip for a day which was very nice. rented an elctric car and also took a massage. I've also trained in the Gym which was very nice

Honeymoon stay - leg 1 of 4

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights (5 Sep - 10 Sep) on the first leg of our honeymoon through Italy. We splurged for the suite with a private pool overlooking the bay.
The room and the grounds were absolutely beautiful. Bathroom was appreciatively private with a lovely shower (rain head, regular shower head & side jets options). The room was cleaned multiple times per day.
It was wonderfully relaxing to lie outside under the covered patio on the loungers in our private yard. We were a bit disappointed that our pool was pretty cold so didn't get to really swim as we'd hoped, but size-wise the private pool was definitely bigger than we'd expected.
The bed was two beds pushed together, but not terribly uncomfortable. The couch was super soft & nap worthy. We were told by one of the cleaning ladies to make sure to keep our door locked as they've had incidents.
Overall a really lovely trip & a great start to our honeymoon. We absolutely recommend booking the sailboat trip via the hotel if you can swing it!

Wonderful coastal views

Excellent restaurant in a lovely , relaxed hotel... probably suited to adults more than families . Friendly and knowledgeable staff advise on day trips, local culture, places to eat etc Together with good facilities, the hotel is in a beautiful location with a local village within walking distance. An excellent choice from which to explore this area of the island or to just relax.

The Most Wonderful Staff,

After a totally awful day and British Airways loosing our luggage it was such a relief to find this absolute Gem, the hotel was perfect in every way, and the staff could not do enough to help us, they took away all the stress the so called wonderful British Airways brought on,
There was not a thing we could say wrong about this hotel, perfect in every way, the trip out on the hotels Yacht was blissful with a quite a character of an Aussie Captain,
We are most definitely going back to this hotel, albeit I wont use Expedia,

Amazing hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is superb and the views from the restaurant/pool areas are beautiful. We would definitely go back, it is a great place for a 3-day break away from it all. The only things that were not so great: dinner at the hotel is good but way too expensive, not great value for money in a town where you have some other great fine dining options; and we took the sailing trip that the hotel offers around the Maddalena islands, which is amazing (great crew, really relaxing experience), but found that the food on board is seriously bad, not up to standards when you've paid 150 euros per person.

Nice quiet peaceful hotel

The staff are friendly and very helpful. It's a small quiet peaceful hotel that serve a lovely breakfast. Would not recommend to families with young children. The hotel is more suited for couples. the hotel offer a free shuttle bus to a beach 10 minutes drive away. The town is quite small and not a lot to do in the evenings.

Fabulous rooms with views

What a beautiful hotel! Not only did we have a terrace, we had a backyard. Everyone was so nice and helpful. My son was the only child there and the staff went out of their way to learn his name and address him by name every time they saw him. The buffet breakfasts were outstanding-I wish I was hungrier every morning. I would for sure stay here agin. The free shuttle to the beaches was so easy and convenient.

Relax stay by the beach

Lovely hotel situation in a quiet beach area. The hotel is small/ medium, the rooms are a good size, and well equip with comfortable balconies to relax and watch the sunset. It is close to a small town that is walking distance away with a few nice cafes, restaurants, stores and a supermarket. It is an easy drive (30 mins) to Porto Cervo and other lovely beaches. The beach across the road from the hotel is ok, downside is you have pay extra to sit at the small deck they have which seems unnecessary given what it is. Breakfast at the hotel is great, it has a wide variety of delicious food. However, food and drinks at the hotel can be expensive.

Wonderful hotel with extremely friendly and professional staff. The location is great too. There are beaches and restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute walk. We ordered room service at the Hotel one evening and although it cost an additional €10 euros, each course was brought separately and when we woke in the morning everything had been cleared away. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Lots of \"Island\" character

Had a suite with private terrace. Looking a bit tired and needing some maintenance - plants around terrace dying from neglect, inoperable spa cluttered up the area. LOTS of steps climbing/walking to get to room and leaving, although buggy service available and good.

A hotel to return to as soon as possible

We were only staying there for 3 nights before a week sailing round the islands. Both my husband and I were very sorry to leave as we couldn't have wished for a better beginning to our holiday. Wonderfully quiet in a beautiful setting, views of the sea in all rooms set in well cared for gardens. The staff couldn't have been more professional and charming from the reception to bar and restaurant staff. Food was wonderful with fresh fish and vegetables, delicious local Sardinian wines. Cannot praise this hotel enough.

Best holiday in years

Really lovely hotel. I didn't realize it was a Conde Nast Luxury Boutique Hotel but it certainly lived up to expectation. We were very happy in our stay there. Only spent two days using the pool, floating dock, spa and gym as it was easy to drive around the island and explore the beaches. I had a great massage at the Spa. The Gym has decent fitness equipment. The breakfast was outstanding, we never missed it. Also enjoyed our dinner there one night with the live entertainment.The staff were super nice, especially the restaurant Manager. Great place for couples which is exactly what we wanted. I would totally go back again and again. The room was properly cleaned everyday, big bed, nice bathroom and great views. We sat outside every evening with a drink just watching the world go by before heading out to dinner. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Lovely quiet hotel with a beautiful view...

My partner and I just returned from our stay at Hotel Relais Villa Del Golfo for 10 nights. The hotel is very quiet, relaxing and picturesque. The sea view from the pool area is amazing. The hotel itself tends to attract an older crowd. Although there were some other younger couples.

The facilities are good. The wifi is extremely poor so if you rely on this for work or any other purposes you will struggle. The staff are incredibly friendly and professional. Food and drink isn't cheap. There are a lot of add ons. Overall though we had a great experience.
