For the price and what they claim, not worth the money. Rooms were meh, pool was shaded and definitely gave “quiet pool” vibes. No water was provided at all(none in the gym or lobby)Guests seemed very pretentious (for no reason). There was a long list of “rules” upon check in, including that you couldn’t bring any outside food or drinks to your room.
The private beach was beautiful and the chaise lounge chairs/towels were nice. On our first day, the beach attendant offered us a bottle of prosecco for 150.00 Euro. After we said no, he came back and said he could do it for 50.00. Didn’t expect negotiations on the beach menu. We would definitely chose a different resort next time.

Lots of insects/bugs while eating. Property has too many restrictions. WiFi sucks. Perfect to do nothing. You must rent a car or be subject to very expensive cabs. Good options at and by the property is limited. Staff wasn’t very welcoming and there seemed to be a lot of awkwardness, especially while checking in. Love Sardinia but won’t be staying here again. Just wasn’t very welcoming or worth the price point to me

Great stay! We had a great time. The beach is amazing, accessible, and private. It was easy to rent a car and park for free, and driving to nearby towns like Porto Cervo was easy and quick. Cannigione itself had many dining options as well. The staff was extremely helpful and nice at the hotel, and the pool and gym were nice.

The hotel was very clean. The waiting staff were phenomenal. The reception personnel were helpful but unfortunately upon check out many charges were charged that were never ordered or used. Transfers to and from hotel were told to us by many staff members behind the desk one price but upon check out almost triple was charged for this service. We were told that each transfer to the beach was $18 euros per way but upon check out we were charged $80 Euros for these transfers per day. If we were told this we would have not used this service. This is very deceitful coming from the reception desk staff. When we confronted about these charges upon check out, we were told that we misunderstood, how can that be if 3 different receptionists told us the exact same amount each time we asked for this service. We are extremely disappointed and upset. We spent quite a bit of money to stay at this 5 star hotel. Lesson learned to have information in writing and not verbal communication.

Beautiful, spotless hotel with polite staff and great housekeeping — rooms are immaculate and turn-down service is a nice touch.

Unfortunately, the service culture doesn’t match the price (€400/night without a balcony). The beach is 2.5 km away, not 500 m as advertised. Food and drinks at the beach take over an hour to arrive and are lukewarm. Breakfast doesn’t include omelettes or pancakes (extra charge), cocktails are €18–20, water €5/50cl, and every small request seems billable.

Transport costs are extreme: €60 return per person for a 1.9 km boat drop-off, and €130 for a 24 km airport transfer — claimed to be the “only option,” even though we arrived by regular taxi.

Cocktails were great when Bruno was working, otherwise sugary water. Food quality didn’t match the price. Overall, it felt like the focus was on squeezing every euro from guests rather than delivering a genuine 5-star experience.

This hotel is sublime. The photos on the website do not do it justice. The hotel itself is modern, spotlessly clean, and the staff are very helpful. The pool area is lovely and the shuttle to the private beach was incredibly convinient and luxerious. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to family and friends. The hotel is also well located and a five minute walk to local resturants and shops. 10/10.

First of all, I will star with me wanting a 5 star hotel with beach club on the deck.
Which both the hotel have failed to bring up.
It start with a failure of the front desk to accommodate transportation at night time for 2 women. (which much expensive then just to get taxi)
After that Ive booked sea/pool front room but then the hotel changed it to garden view, with all those inconveniences also the staff at the front desk was super unprofessional and very not welcoming. They make me feel like they do me a favor. (No any 5 star hotel Ive ever been I experienced such a bad staff treatment)
After that, at the morning I was at least excited to go to the beach on the deck to enjoy the day ( as you could see in the pictures of the property)
Then the front desk saying its been close for a while and there is a shuttle of 10min drive to the beach till 6pm. Totally unacceptable! No one told us before booking or after. Completely disrespectful towards to customer.
At the evenings I was supposed to get ready to dinner and I was asking for iron to the room and there was very rude response of the staff of them telling me there is no iron allowed to the room and if I want i can use their iron service from 10am with cost of 15/20€ per ITEM! Where is that make sense?
Went with wrinkly clothes to dinner and my total vacation ruined because their “rules”
After all these inconveniences the staff was totally not nice. The staff was porously made us hard to get transportation.
Bad wifi !!!!

Pool is VERY small. Not enough day beds to accommodate guests, so if you don’t get there very early you will not sit by the pool.
Room was fine, shower was fine, water pressure was bad.
“Private beach club” is a stretch. There is a shuttle that brings you 10 minutes to a public beach where the hotel has a section roped off. It is nice but not a private beach.
Breakfast was good.
Spa was nice, small, but good services.
Again all staff was very friendly and professional including the spa staff who gave us the massages.
Drinks/water by the pool or “beach club” were very pricey, about double anywhere else. (Aperol spritz at the pool was 16 euro, and at the bar outside the “beach club” was 7 euro.

We stayed here for part of our honeymoon. It is surprising that it has good reviews. Our stay was overall very disappointing. This “5 star” hotel acts more like a 3 star hotel. The beach is a shuttle ride away and they prioritize shuttling their staff over guests. There is no bathroom at the beach and the food is cold by the time it comes from the hotel. We were also looking forward to using the sea deck which we were not informed until we arrived that it is closed for the season. Pool area is crowed with not much sun. Breakfast is always cold and the coffee tastes like instant. And they also expect that you not have any outside food or drink in your overpriced room. Maid service never restocked the room with essentials. Not much positive to say overall.

From the moment we arrived at Grand Hotel Cannigione, we knew we were in for something special. The hotel itself is stunning elegant, peaceful, and beautifully maintained but what truly made our stay exceptional was the staff.

Every single person we encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our experience unforgettable. Whether it was at reception, in the restaurant, or by the pool, the service was consistently flawless. The team anticipated our needs without ever being intrusive, and always greeted us with a smile and sincere kindness.

Our room was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and offered breathtaking views. The attention to detail throughout the hotel from the thoughtful amenities to the impeccable cleanliness was truly impressive.

We had an amazing time at the Grand Hotel Cannigione in Sardinia, Italy! The rooms were clean, spacious, and incredibly comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious—every meal was a delight.

What truly made our stay unforgettable was the exceptional service. The staff waited on us hand and foot, going above and beyond to make sure we were completely taken care of. A special thank you to Sabina, who arranged all of our meals for our group of eight with seamless attention to detail. Thanks to her and the rest of the incredible staff, we never wanted for anything.

The hotel was lovely and staff were great. However, the drinks and food were very overpriced, plus there was no distinct ‘bar’ so you had to find a member of staff to order a drink. The pool area was lovely but there weren’t many sunbeds and due to the pool being surrounded on all sides by the hotel it was sometimes hard to get a spot in the sun. The private beach was really nice and the half hour shuttle was really useful. Overall, a lovely hotel but just a bit overpriced.

The hotel was 5* for comfort & cleanliness.
What was disappointing was Food & drink prices. I expect to pay a high price for a good wine but to charge €10 for beer that cost €1.5 for the exact same in the supermarket is greed.
The hotel was very quit in the restaurant & bar due to this with no atmosphere
Also for a 5* hotel and the fees paid to stay you would expect free water in your room & poolside and free access to spa facility’s such as the sauna & steam room.
Beautiful hotel & staff but added costs let the 5* experience down
I would also recommend the hotel invest in some restroom facilities at the beach. Those available to the public are disgusting

Superb hotel of a very high standard throughout. Staff were excellent & in particular the reception personnel where nothing was too much trouble. Hotel was in a quiet yet very convenient location & beautifully clean with brilliant housekeeping service to the rooms. We had a B&B arrangement & the breakfasts were brilliant with excellent choice. The private beach & decking areas were great with a complimentary shuttle service & there were catering & refreshment facilities available. Definitely worthy of 5 stars across the board!

Positives - walking distance to restaurant options, super clean, beautifully designed, comfortable beds, nice pool (if small, around 16 loungers), decent breakfast options.

Negatives :
The beach area - it’s a bus shuttle to what’s described as a beach club but in reality it’s cordoned off sun loungers with no facilities other than hotel food menu that’s then shuttled to the beach - no toilet, fresh water shower and bit chaotic arranging the return bus as limited spaces. Same for the sea decking bit which is at least walkable (if you can take the heat!)

Crazy prices (bottle local beer €10, paying for breakfast omelette or crepes €8, room service charge before you start €15) - for a small hotel this is disappointing.

The general vibe - five star hotel, yes but - for us, no soul and just a bit stuffy that didn’t lend itself to feeling particularly relaxed or at home.

We had high hopes for Grand Hotel Cannigione however our experience was underwhelming.
We stayed early July and the place was half empty. While the room facing the pool was nice and clean the WiFi signal was extremely weak. The breakfast buffet looked impressive but the choices were not great. If you want a simple omelet or a couple of fried eggs you need to pay. Way too many store-bought pastries for a supposed five-star hotel. Also, the TV’s in the room are way too small with most computer monitors being larger. The private beach the hotel advertises is accessible only via a golf cart shuttle that leaves every thirty minutes. No restroom facility at the hotel beach, and the water was extremely dirty, algae everywhere. Save yourself the trouble and instead rent a car and drive to one of the many beautiful public beaches or beach clubs around Arzachena. We also can’t recommend dinner at the hotel. The food has fancy names but lacks in taste and quality. If you want to experience real Sardinian food, try an agroturismo.

Beautiful, immaculate boutique hotel in Cannigione. We spent one week at this hotel and rented a car to tour the island visiting some of the most pristine beaches we’ve ever seen.
The hotel is immaculate, nicely decorated and the people are wonderful. They organized a boxed breakfast for us one morning when one of our tours had us leaving the hotel at the crack of dawn. The breakfast buffet is very good with something for everyone and tables are set up by the pool which is so pretty. We walked to several restaurants and shopping some nights and it was convenient and safe. I highly recommend this hotel it you are visiting the northeast part of Sardinia.

1. Small rooms and have to call them every day to get more towels or bathrooms essentials.

2. **Food and Beverages:The prices for food and drinks were outrageous.like the cost of a simple breakfast or a bottle of water, and the quality did not justify the cost.

The hotel charged excessively for additional services. For a ride to the center of the town 5 block aways $30 euros , such as laundry, room service, or transportation, and how much they cost.

Despite the high prices, the quality of service and facilities did not meet my expectations. I would not recommend staying at hotel Caniggione unless significant improvements are made. I hope the management reviews their pricing strategy to offer better value to their

Great spot 15 min away from Porto Cervo, Baja Sardinia and Palau, so very central to everything you’d need in the north east part of the island. Very clean, serene, quiet with great service including turn down service. Room service fee was expensive (12 euro) and we only ordered water but oh well. The breakfast is excellent

SMALL ADJUSTMENTS NEEDED FOR EXCELLENCE

We had a week in one of the larger rooms. Very comfortable, well furnished etc. But slightly inconsistent house keeping. Milk and teabags not always replenished so we had to ask. Not a big deal of itself but should not happen in a five star. Believe we had fresh towels every day despite the eco card. Two bottles complimentary water for the whole week. Took a number of days for the spa bath to be fixed. Breakfast fantastic. Dinner v good. Great table service. Drinks expensive. Quiet location on edge of town but easy walk to restaurants and shops. “Private” beach a few minutes ride away in hotels buggy with loungers, umbrellas etc. Some cold drinks on site. Rest and Food comes from the hotel. Excellent. We did not use the pool or gym (both of which looked superb) or spa.

The hotel was fine but not a 5 star hotel. The beds are unfortunately super hard and for some that may be comfy. There’s no irons to iron your clothes and you need to have laundry service done which is completely overpriced. It was 13 euros to iron one shirt.

Beautiful property with wonderful and attentive staff! The rooms were well appointed as were the general areas throughout the resort. The spa was gorgeous with topnotch amenities. In addition to the pool there are two options for swimming; a private harbor deck with staff as well as a private section of beach with food and drinks with shuttle service on the 1/2 hour from 10am-6pm. A true five star gem.
