What a lovely hotel! The most comfortable seating in public spaces and comfortable beds/pillows. Rooms are compact but perfect for being a tourist — who hangs out in hotel rooms? Right in the center of this darling town full of incredibly kind and welcoming people. They could not have been nicer or more helpful at the hotel. Friends who live in cortona halftime recommended it and we understand why! Beautifully appointed, perfect location.

We really loved this property! We stayed for our honeymoon and the morning breakfast was excellent, staff was super friendly, and our balcony view felt like a picture! We messaged them through WhatsApp and they even scheduled a taxi to pick us up at the train station and bring us to the hotel and back to the train station on our last day! We will definitely be back!

It does not get better than this for Cortona for convenience. Just outside the ztl, but literally on the gate to the main street, overlook the most scenic countryside. Rooms are beautiful, we had a balcony facing the countryside and enjoyed it early morning and into the night. Parking is down the cliffside, so a bit of a walk, but can easily park just outside the ztl to drop bags and then find a spot, which there were plenty of. Breakfast was abundant, lots to choose from. Best value hotel in our Tuscan experience by far (and probably one of the most stunning views I've had in a hotel in my entire life)

We’ve stayed in other places in Cortona, but we like the location of San Luca, especially because of the views from the room and from the terrace. Although the room was quite small, the bed was comfortable and we enjoyed seeing the beautiful hills from the small balcony.

Lovely hotel, but disappointing downgrade

I was both shocked & disappointed when I checked in to discover I had been “downgraded“ to a single room, from the classic double that I had booked. When I went back to the front desk to clarify my reservation, I was told I was put in this room because it has a better view. While that maybe true, I had booked a classic room for a specific reason & was instead put into a smaller dorm size room. The difference in price for the rooms was not refunded to me. In future, I hope the hotel takes this into account that when checking someone into a downgraded room, they’ll give the guest a bit of warning or explanation for what they’ve done. I do not appreciate people assuming I want a different type of room than what I paid for, regardless of reasonespecially when it’s a downgrade.
Other than that, the hotel is in a good location & breakfast was wonderful. If one wants to take the bus to/from the train station, bear in mind that there is no bus service on Sunday, & a taxi is €15.
It would’ve been a perfect stay had my booking choices not been taken away from me. (And I was told my ‘classic double’ room had been booked with no view, there has never been an option for a view with that room type & all view from this hotel are beautiful & there are terrace to enjoy too.)

Nice hotel in Cortona. Great views from the breakfast room and the terrace. Good service and clean facilities. Only certain rooms have that gorgeous view of the Toscan countryside so make sure you book one of those (at an extra cost). Those without view are a bit claustrophobic and dark.

Great location when traveling to Cortona. Beautiful views & everything is in within easy walking distance. The travel boasts 4 stars... Maybe this was true years ago. The hotel was probably beautiful in its prime, but really needs some updates (besides pretty pictures and furniture). Our room was very small although the view from our balcony was gorgeous. The TV was too small to comfortably watch. The bathroom is small and the shower leaked all over the floor. The staff were nice, but would have been a bit warmer. Breakfast was continental style, you chose what you'd like from a sheet and upon arriving you were provided with your selections. Overall, our stay was okay.. I'd like to stay at one of the other hotels in the area.

This is a barely 3-star hotel masquerading as a 4-star.

Despite singing praises to its wonderful view, our room faced the city wall, and we had to pay extra to be moved across the hall to a room with a view.

Front line staff were not particularly friendly, but got better over the three days we stayed there. Staff in the breakfast room were surly and watched everyone like policemen.

Breakfast was the worst experience of all our hotels for our two week trip - the variety was well below what we found at 3-star hotels, and the so-called \"hot\"part of the breakfast consisted of cold scrambled eggs and cold vienna sausages cut in half. No variation, no improvement.

The extractor fan in the bathroom sounded like a diesel generator.

The walls are paper thin. you could hear the neighbors talking in their rooms.

I cannot remember when I last saw such a tiny TV screen.

The room size was at best 3-star size, not the extra space we came to expect from 4-star hotels.

Overall a very unhappy stay, I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Best combo of car access and beautiful view

The views are incredible, whether you get a room with valley view or just enjoy from the balcony or breakfast area. You can easily drive right up to the door to drop bags. It is an easy escalator ride from the free public parking lot. San Luca is convenient to the pedestrian pleasures of Cortona.

I highly recommend Hotel San Luca. It’s in a very convenient location and offers spectacular views of the valley below. The breakfast they offered was a nice selection and there is a gorgeous view as you sit and eat. The staff was very kind and courteous, and they made us feel welcome. My son has dust mite allergies and the carpet in the room was really aggravating them after our first couple of nights. I asked housekeeping if the could dust and vacuum the room when they cleaned it to help alleviate the issue and they agreed. Then a few minutes later the front desk called and offered for us to change to a room without carpet. It was a little more per night but I gladly paid it and we changed rooms. I was very thankful that they offered us that option and my son had no issues once we moved to the other room.
I would definitely stay here again if I have a chance to go back to Cortona.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on the recommendation of friends who had already stayed there. We were very happy with the hotel. it was just so handy to everything and right at the beginning of the town itself. The room was a good size with a balcony but there was no outdoor furniture. I don't know if this was because it was too early in the season (mid May) or because it was raining off and on but it would have been nice to have it there regardless. We asked but didn't get any. There was a bar but this was pretty uninspiring and not conducive to sit in and have a drink at the end of the day. No atmosphere at all. However there was a nice lounge area with lovely views. A good, handy place to stay in this great little town.

We had a terrible experience at this property. We left the car at the parking recommended by them and it has a window broken and part of our luggage stolen, when we inform them and ask for support the only thing they do was to give the police address!!!. Another bad experience was during the breakfast: they are much more worried of their controls than service you!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Cortona. The hotel is located on the main piazza, so everything was within easy walking distance. Our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast buffet was one of the best we have ever had and the views from the breakfast room were amazing. The internet was fast and reliable and all the members of the staff were friendly and professional. There is plenty of parking available at the base of the hill, but once you park, your won't need your car again because everything is accessible from the hotel. We loved this hotel and only wish we could have stayed longer.

Really Nice Hotel within easy reach of many resturants, shops and cafes nearby.
Good selection for breakfast in a lovely modern restaurant with stunning views of Cortona.
Only downside was that the safe didn't work and a member of the reception staff was quite rude when leaving. Insisting that we hadnt paid for the room which had been paid in advance through Expedia. This took a long time for the hotel to sort out before agreeing we had paid, but no apologises.

Despite all this we would recommend hotel. it was in an ideal location at a very reasonable price with good breakfast, accommodation and amazing views. Most the staff where very friendly and helpful.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful!!!! The area is gorgeous and the view from the balcony, breathtaking!! The rooms were clean and nicely laid out. Air conditioning worked well. Bathroom was nice. Shower was great! Excellent water pressure! The only downside was the bed was extremely hard! Very uncomfortable. The breakfast was delicious, with another extraordinary view! The front desk was very friendly and helpful. Within walking distance to great stores and restaurants. I highly recommend Snoopys gelato!! :D I would recommend from the train station, taking a taxi. Much easier than the bus!

The only good thing is the view. The rooms are dated and small, with the thinnest plastic cups. They had other facilities that were there but you had no idea about them, no information about anything. The breakfast staff were appalling and rude, the breakfast is left uncovered in the open air balcony and not good, if you go later its terrible, there was a bug in the fruit salad. There is no wifi in the room, they advertise a mini bar and there is none. The pictures they advertise are wrong there are no comfy chairs, just 2 Woden chairs. Don't know where that outside lounge area was, the breakfast certainly does NOT look like that, only the view is correct. DO NOT DO LAUNDRY, it took 2 days, and they staple the docket to the clothes, I now have holes in my tops, they also got it all mixed up, terrible. Don't bother staying here, go to the wine bar for the good view, don't go to the restaurant next to the hotel, they are terrible. Lovely town with other places to stay.

This hotel has a beautiful view that is worth the winding, uphill drive to it. The staff is very professional, and the facilities are beautiful. The elevator is tiny, so if you are uncomfortable with small spaces, request a room on the main floor or only one flight away. The restaurant next to the hotel was not our favorite ( food taste, unfriendly staff), but you can walk right around the corner, and you are on the Main Street in Cortona. The location of this hotel is worth every dollar spent!!

Hotel LaLucca

We were pleased with our stay at the hotel, good location, parking nearby below but with escalators running most of the way up the hill until late at night. Excellent view from the restaurant. Beds were comfortable in a small clean room five floors down from the reception. The lifts were small but functional. Nice staff.
