Our visit was like being spoiled from the moment we arrived! The staff and even the owner were there to make sure we had everything we needed! Though our visit was in the off season, the only thing we didn't get to use was the pool as it was just too cold. The breakfast, though, was the best we have ever had while traveling! Highly recommend!!!

Perfect stay in Cortona

A beautiful Boutique Hotel/villa in a perfect location. Gorgeous gardens and pool. The owner and staff are so friendly and helpful. Had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious. Lovely rooms and cottages. Ww will definitrly stay again.

Amazing location, architecture, lots of great interior design. Super responsive, polite, flexible and friendly staff. Luxurious experience. Just great.

What could be better: tell potential guests that your pool is not heated — ie not useable in April. Finish setting up the fancy appliances: put lights in the shower, add a holder for toilet paper in the bathroom (instead of a plastic stool), add a fan to the bathroom (smells), upkeep so faucets and hoses aren’t wobbling, fix the flickering LED lights. Provide water glasses. Use larger sheets so they don’t all end up in a pile at the end of the night. An in-room fridge that’s large enough to store a bottle of wine or champagne would be helpful.

Bad: other guests were walking around in the middle of the night, and that woke us up :(

I really wanted to give this property 5 bubbles but I just can't so it's 4.

The grounds are beautiful and the service is very good. Host David Papi and the staff were eager to do anything to assist.

We stayed in a suite which was up two flights of stairs with no elevator so, if this is an issue, make sure you get something on a main floor.

It was a lovely set of rooms but very dark. The lack of lighting was a problem for me, particularly in the bathroom. The shower stall was small but adequate but might be too small for a large and/or tall person.

Our heating & a/c was not working and they apologised profusely for that and sent up a fan. However, the second night there was a wedding on the grounds and the housekeeper closed all the shutters and windows so that the noise wouldn't bother us; all it did was make it darker and stuffier during the evening.

The food in the restaurant for dinner was done exceptionally well and we had a lovely (and costly!) meal. Breakfast had a large range of fruit and pastries. We asked for scrambled eggs and they came sunny side up. The second day we asked for scrambled eggs and they came scrambled but there were a lot of hard brown parts, meaning that the eggs had been cooked on a too hot grill.

Overall, we enjoyed our time but I found that the value for what we paid was lacking. And this place makes a good living doing weddings so, if you are planning to stay during a weekend, you may want to check if a wedding is planned for that time.

The time of our lives!! The best of Tuscany.

My wife and I had recently stayed at La Corte Dei Papi for our 21 day honeymoon and could not have asked for any more.

Upon arrival, we were greeted and checked-in by David, the owner and operator of the property. David was there to assist us in all of our requests (or demands, ha) - without hesitation.

The property is stunning and meticulously groomed. The villa is picture perfect. It is very old world, with small modern touches.

The pool is pristine and peaceful.

The property was so stunning that we asked David if we could hire a photographer to do a photo shoot of us on the premises. He helped us in every way, and even allowed us to use the private ballroom for some photos (which is incredible!!).

Also, the villa is right at the entrance of the old city of Cortona, which is an incredible medieval village, with some fantastic dining options.

We would love the opportunity (and time), to go back to La Corte Dei Papi. We hope that on our next trip, we are lucky enough to bring family and friends.

PS - the restaurant/food was PHENOMENAL!!

They wanted to charge us for laundry didnnot have an iron. Always looking or a way to make an extra buck after you spend so much on a hotel room. No spa services, they can refer you somewhere with astronomical prices. I loved the town we were close to but not worth the money at all.
The ceiling was old and flaked onto our faces and bed sheets through the day and night and was worse when it rained. I wish I could have my money back.

It’s an amazing place you really feel your in Tuscany very authentic and beautiful and near Cortona. The rooms are 5 star hotel suits excellent and clean and every suit had its own sauna and jacuzzi. The owner David is the most honest and hospitable person you ever met and make you feel your at your home with your family. The staff are very kind and attentive. I thank them all specially David which now I consider him a friend and his hotel as my home in Tuscany. I recommend everyone to stay at this hotel, simply perfect.

Graciousness and comfort are both evident at the Relais. While it is decorated with older style furnishings, the bed and rooms were very comforable. The thing that makes this stay remarkable is it's owner...David and all him wonderful staff. I can't say enough about him.
We stayed in one of the original rooms but he has recently added a new wing of rooms which I believe would be very comfortable. The only problem with our room was the lighting which tends to be on the dark side. Please DO NOT MISS eating in his restaurant. The food is 5++++ stars...delicious and beautiful in presentation. The scallops are probably the best I have ever had! I still think about them.

All that is said about La Corte dei Papi is right; David and his team do a fabulous job. Lovely location near Cortona, great facilities with a beautiful pool area, comfortable rooms and good food. Cortona is close by and very vibrant in the late summer sun. The lunch was good, fresh and healthy but perhaps a little too expensive for something so simple. But it is a top end Hotel....

Most welcoming and fantastic place we have ever experienced. David and his team took guest treatment to a new level, if not dimension. Food, location and the entire place are fantastic. The entire place has been givens much attention to detail which only second to none, especially the hand-painted wall decorations throughout the entire hotel. We are already planning our comeback :-)

What a charming place just at the bottom of the hill to Cortona. We stayed here one night to visit friends in Cortona. I’ll definitely be back when the lovely grounds are in bloom and the pool and restaurant are open. I can’t say enough good things about the owner, David. He loves what he does and can make you a reservation for anything you need. He is fantastic!

A very unusual and beautiful place. Our room was one of the most charming spots ever but the most wonderful part of all was the very personal and warm welcome from the owner. What an amazing stay! Although we went off season in January and the restaurant in the hotel was closed, David (owner) did everything he could to make our stay enjoyable. He spent time finding us vineyards that we're open, making reservations and even prepared delicious breakfast for us each morning. The grounds were BEAUTIFUL, the rooms were comfortable, clean and so charming. It truly was a wonderful stay and can't wait to go back.

Lovely Tuscan Villa with Amazing Restaurant

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights on our honeymoon. The hotel is converted from a family farm (his mother works there with him) and has picturesque views. David, the owner, made us felt taken care of and goes out of his way to ensure guests have everything they need including coordinating wine tours, cooking classes, taxis when it is an unexpectedly rainy day or suggesting restaurants. The best part of the villa is the amazing intimate restaurant (during warmer weather you can eat by the pool overlooking the vineyards). The food is out of this world, the service is outstanding, and the wine is delicious. We went twice in our 3 days there, and can't wait to return.

The BEST hotel we stayed! Professional Staff!

This is the best hotel we ever stayed in Italy.

The host David and his team are all friendly and professional in a way that they care about every detail of your stay. You can feel their passion in making your stay a delightful and memorable one.

We stayed in the Relais for 2 nights in the deluxe cottage which is very quiet and nicely decorated with traditional Tuscan style. There is also a Jacuzzi in the room which was great as well. The room is perfectly clean, tidy and cozy to stay.

We stayed in the hotel's restaurant for dinner for both nights and the food are amazing. I proposed to my fiancé at the restaurant of the hotel on the first night and David and his team have been truly helpful and professional to make it a special night for me and my fiancé. We are truly thankful for the special arrangement by David and his team to make it happen.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who are travelling to Cortona.

I have nothing but superlatives to describe the beautifully decorated rooms, the grounds, the restaurant, the surrounding countryside and, above all, Davide, La Corte dei Papi's most gracious host. We found the Le Corte dei Papi resort to be an amazing experience. The owner, David Papi was involved
in every aspect of the property with the ultimate goal of maximum guest satisfaction. The restaurant is fantastic
with a incredible chef and extraordinary waiters and service.

The landscaped grounds and the beautiful pool area make the resort very relaxing and special. The Papi
have owned the property for over 200 years and their pride show in every aspect of the resort.

The resort is located just below the walled hilltop town of Cortona. Cortona is a fun historic Tuscan
village with a fascinating history and very good restaurants and parks.

We can not recommend La Corte dei Papi any higher. It is awesome!

We were greeted in the parking lot by David Papi, owner/operator. The level of excellent service didn't stop there. The breakfast buffet is an impressive spread. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the restaurant as well. One morning we caught an early train to Florence and David made sure we had coffee and a bite to eat before leaving. The staff was always available. We really enjoyed staying at a boutique country style hotel that felt more like a home!

Rooms are gorgeous. Restaurant is world-class. David is extraordinary. Well worth the trip to experience this gem near Cortona. We loved our stay here and David exemplifies excellent service. Can't say enough wonderful things about our beautiful and peaceful visit with truly one of the best meals of my life at Relais La Corte dei Papi. A MUST dinner for anyone visiting Cortona or Tuscany. A Wonderful Hotel Just Outside Of Cortona

The hotel is a beautifully renovated old farmhouse operated by a friendly and welcoming host whose family has owned the property for 300 years. They have done a wonderful job renovating the buildings and creating a beautiful, very new, and comfortable hotel. The breakfast is delicious as is dinner outside by the pool. Highly recommend this hotel.

Loved it. David and all the staff were fantastic, could not do enough to ensure to our comfort, made the whole experience so much more pleasing.

If you are travelling with children maybe not the place to stay, but for romatic get aways, honeymoon or even for adults looking for peace & quiet then this is the place for you.

You will need a car for sight seeing.

Great Relais in Cortona

Host David and his Team were great throughout our stay and complemented the unbelievable Toscany experience, thank you! Despite the finishing renovations to a new building which will provide great luxury rooms, we enjoyed the Relais site and specially the cuisine offered. Morning breakfasts provided were plentiful and enjoyed on the patio. Only one small set back was the absence of a stand up shower in our room which made us renew the bathing experience!

Definitivamente si tienen los medios económicos tienen que quedarse en las habitaciones de lujo, la cabaña es realmente, un hotel cuando mucho de tres estrellas

La Suite realmente muy bonita, con su Spa con vapor y música y un fabuloso jacuzzi. La cama muy cómoda y el baño de primera. El precio muy elevado, pero la habitación muy bonita y en excelentes condiciones.
Todo impecable.
El desayuno bien, pero no de acuerdo al precio pagado por la Suite.
Definitivamente a evitar la cottage... muy pequeña y sin lugar para guardar la ropa, y sin caja fuerte.

Construccion histórica de más de 700 años impecablemente BIEN arreglada con buen gusto. Sencilla pero preciosa. David y su madre que atienden que son los dueños...lo atienden con todo su corazón. El desayuno colazione es delicioso. El mejor hotel de mi viaje por la Toscana.
