I was disturbed 3 times by the front desk staff who was alerted by the smoke detector , they called me at 22:00, 23:00 pm and 03:00 am , asking me if I was smoking.
The calls disturbed my sleep and caused me ended up sleepless . I was badly affected by the rude calls.

Beautiful lobby but dodgy room service

Hotel has a really beautiful lobby with great concierge, check-in, etc. Rooms were okay but spotlessly clean which is great. The only thing stopping me from giving a higher review is the room service--I got an extremely salty French onion soup which gave me food poisoning, ruining my next 24 hours. I would stay again, but I wouldn't recommend the room service at all.

Gorgeous hotel, amazing pool, breakfast needs work

They have an amazing, amazing pool, a fantastic gym, and the rooms are spacious with great air con, good showers and a lovely view of the city. The breakfast is below average, a boiled egg I asked for was raw and I saw a creepy crawly on the toast which put me off. They also don't let you pour your own coffee, and their coffee is bad. There is a silly system where there are two receptions, so you never know where to check in, get your parking validated, how to get first aid (we needed a plaster) or where to store your luggage. We kept getting sent around the place! We ordered a margarita pizza for room service and they used sweet ketchup for pizza sauce... I think the kitchen needs quite a bit of work to make it truly 4 stars but the rest of the experience is wonderful.

Nice hotel in the center of city

- The breakfast is super. This is the most important thing for me in choosing a hotel.
- About 15 minutes walk to Merdeka Park to have dinner.
- About 8 minutes fast-walk to Sun Plaza.
- 2 minutes walk to Paladium Plaza to find out pork and beer.
- About 10 minutes to train station by car.
- Deluxe room is more comfortable than Superior room, except I go alone.
- The services is good. Staff are polite and helpful.
- Parking lot is spacious and safe.
- The price is adequate to the value.

Amazing breakfast, great location

I would like to express my gratitude to the hotel for such an amazing breakfast selections, from local cuisines to western bakery.

The location is great, approximately 10-minute walking distance from Merdeka Walk.

I hope the spa has male masseurs in the future because as a Muslim man, I am very particular about this.

It is very nice, clear & bright hotel. Great breakfast. Great staff. But the room wall is too thin. I think it is not a wall at all. I could not sleep until I hid my head below the pillow. The noise starts at 10 PM till morning. I could hear my neighbor room talking and using the toilet :(

Strongly do not recommend if you do not understand malay. Wanted to get a massage at the hotel, but found that no one at the spa spoke English. And even when I approached the front desk and concierge for assistance, they were unable to help. Even got the phone slammed down on me with a \"Sorry, I don't understand English.\" EXTREMELY TERRIBLE experience here.

The only thing that the hotel can improve is the sound proofing since i could hear sounds of people talking when they passed by my room and the fact that my room is right in front of the lift certainly does not helps.
Overall the hotel worth every single pennies you spent.

Room was clean and modern. It was no frills. The closet was dark and needed a light. The worst thing was that it was facing the street and the noise kept me up all night. I would stay at this hotel again, but would try to get an inner courtyard room next time.

Room, bathroom & bed are clean. Bottled mineral water supplied 4 units daily, more than other hotels which is great as we need not to buy extra. The staffs are great of help. Safe box was accidentally locked with wrong password and managed to get it reset within 5 minutes by the Duty Manager. Love some of typical Medan foods served for breakfast

Nice Hotel in a Strategic Location

The hotel is located at the heart of downtown Medan. Lobby are was cozy with a cool modern interior. Room was clean. The only thing they need to improve is the air conditioning in the room. It was very hot. Breakfast was fine with various selection of foods.

The nice thing on my stay in this property was they upgraded me and my friend to the premium room for free.

Pros - modern, clean, spacious, good air conditioning, good hot shower, writing desk, very good service and friendly staff, I'm very amazed by their approach and attitude right from check in to check out & also during breakfast, good location - waking distance to Sun Plaza & Merdeka walk, LCD TV with USB, 4 bottles of complimentary dining water per day, mini fridge, coffee / tea maker

In Medan on a business trip. The Santika was recommended by a colleague.

This is an excellent hotel with very professional staff and greasy facilities.

The bed was noticeably comfortable with down pillows.

A super nice pool and spa was a prefect bonus as well.

This is a larger hotel located in the centre of the city. Several large modern shopping centres are nearby.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The bed was especially comfortable.

The breakfast buffet is amazing, with a huge selection of food. It includes Asian and Western foods, so you should be able to find something you like.

It was an enjoyable stay. Room was spacious & comfortable. Toiletries like toothbrush provided. Breakfast was great with a lot of variety ranging from local to western & the food was good. However, the aircon was not that cool. Hotel is opposite Palladium Mall with just a number of shops still operating including the 'Matahari' store, hypermart & a few food stalls.

It was a lovely place to stay. Room was spacious and very clean. Food was excellent as well the service even thought we arrived late, they still served us. arrived. We enjoyed the breakfast included with room. Huge variety and local fare was nicely done. Overall, we will come back to stay again in near future.

Pleasant yet not.

I'm going to be very professional, my stay there was bad. Yes the rooms were perfect and their people are very nice. But other than that, they don't deserve to be graded as 4 star. I remember asking for an ice bucket, all they said they can't give that because they are not the same with the restaurant. When I called the restaurant all they said was come here and take. Like wth?? What ever I requested from them was definitely a hick up. Disappointed perhaps.

Stayed for 4 nights to attend business. I stayed in Deluxe Room at 11th Floor, so it's quite nice and quiet. Also nice view. Free daily breakfast, and food is variety and pretty good. The room is very nice and clean. Bed is also comfortable to sleep in.
Definitely would stay there again if I visit Medan.

Everything is good. Nearby Hypermart can buy some water and snack. The Hypermart is inside Paladium Mall. The hotel entrance got security scan. I booked for 3 nights. 1st night the room was not cold and the Internet also weak signal. Then 2nd day make complain stil like this then the staff decided change room for us. Staffs very friendly and polite. Breakfast also nice especially bread.

I will not recommended my friends and family to stay in Sanyika Dyandra Medan. Really poor services. From the day 1 I was there only trouble that I have. In restaurant they served us a raw chicken, after talked to the manager, he write off the bill for that chicken, cockroach in room, air conditioning wasnt cold, and the internet on and off all the time (very...very...slow). I always stayed in Santika everytime I visited others places in Indonesia and always have a great experience. But this Santika in Medan, no.... I will not recommended and I will never coming back! Very disappointed!

Great hotel, good location, at a reasonable price!
The room is very clean and functional. Nice to not have carpets! Plenty of space. The neighbourhood is great for tourists as sights are 10 minute walking distance. It is 2 blocks away from the big sun plaza shopping mall.
I stayed in the Grand Swiss Belhotel before, though preferred the Santika as it was cleaner and nicer.

Impressive Indonesian buffet spread

The hotel is located at a very bustling location. Malls are nearby, but quite expensive with min tariffs applied on the taxi (IDR 25,000 per trip). Hotel is clean, food is excellent (the buffet spread was quite impressive with Indonesian dishes), the laundry rate is acceptable, and the room is clean and comfy. We will definitely recommend this hotel to other visitor to Medan.
