Luxury hotel - but didn't cater for vegetarians

This is a beautiful hotel. The room I was given was one of the biggest hotel rooms I've ever seen! Pure luxury.

One negative is that I ordered rice with vegetables, after explaining I'm vegetarian, but they brought vegetables cooked in a fish sauce with shrimp. After complaining, they brought me a different meal and a free drink. However, a chef in a 4-5* hotel should know that the definition of a vegetarian is simply no meat and no fish (pescatarians eat fish, but vegetarians don't)!

I also had an in-room massage, which was supposed to be for 90 minutes but was only 60. So be careful with the agreed time of any treatments.

The hotel can do major upgrade for essentials. The linens and towels are yellowish old and use too much perfume. The carpet in the hall way and the room should be replaced and the wall paper needs to be replaced. This hotel has a lot of potential and is in prime location. The breakfast is amazing. It should invest more on the above.

I was pleased with the hotel. Very nice amenities and great service. Room was very nice and comfortable.

The downside is the carpets in the hallways were stained. A simple improvement that could be made that would improve the property.

Location was walking distance to shopping malls and restaurants. Not a good place to walk at night alone.

Restaurant for breakfast a shambles, so busy that every time I got up for something my table was cleared and someone else had sat down even though I hadn’t finished
Pool nice, but unfortunately right beside smoking area, which also was beside gym with open door. Made it unusable for me
I got a great price here but this is definitely not a 5 star hotel as they bill themselves

Beautiful hotel and room. Good location, close to the train station for the airport (allow extra time for crossing the roads though!). Reception staff were really nice and helpful, especially Fadle. The breakfast room was very big with lots of choice, however I asked 2 members of staff if one of the dishes was vegetarian/no meat and they didn't understand me at all so I gave up and stuck to the waffles, cakes and juices which were all really good!

Staff (Ivan) was super. Otherwise, the hotel is slightly worn, mould in the shower and tile's fitting have broken off in places. Moreover, the cleaning lady had left a hair pin in the shower for us some hair at the drainage.

Coffee (capuccino made by the staff) was good.

Cleaning practices are not good at all. Very expensive price for the limited breakfast and bbq friday was terrible. A male worker tried to sneak into my room. He did not ring the door bell at all and opened the door very slowly to not make any noise and when he saw me in my room he was surprised and acted like he was house keeping. Which he was not. He was definitely up to no good.

I do not recommend this hotel at all. The pictures are glorified for what you get.

Absolutely in need of a renovation.
The layout of the hotel is also not very well thought through, I have to actually walk like 6-7 minutes before i can reach my room. that is almost like walking to the gate in an airport. I think the carpet have not been cleaned for a long time.

The breakfast buffet is amazing, there is a lot of choice and it is delicious. The pool is always clean and its big enough, it’s often busy with families and kids in the morning but after that you can relax by the pool. The staff is very friendly and efficient, they treated us very well. I upgraded my room and the man who took my request even in the middle of the night and set up everything for me. The rooms are clean and comfortable, modern design.

I arrived from an overnight flight and Reception did there utmost to accomodate me as soon as possible. The pool was glorious for a dip in the afternoon. Breakfast buffet had plenty of choices. The hotel is 5 min walk from Merdeka Walk and al fresco cafes. Only downer being one of lifts was out of action, but only a minor blip. Wholly recommend.

NON SMOKING HOTEL

This hotel is not for smokers. I feel annoyed when the counter staff asked me to signed NO SMOKING agreement upon checking. And because of that, I have to upgrade my room to the pool side so that I can smoke. However, this cost me additional RM 1,850,000. I really feel being cheated by this hotel adv. If they tell upfront that the hotel is a non smoking hotel than I will never want to stay there.

Anyway, the hotel staffs are good. So does the environments and facilities.

But very sad, I would never stay in this hotel again. Not even want to recommend it to my friends and families.

Luxury hotel for a great price!

The hotel went above and beyond, offering a very comfortable room, great staff and beautiful pool.

The restaurant lacked a lot of vegetarian options, but otherwise was delicious! We ate the dinner buffet which offered a wonderful variety of Asian dishes. The breakfast buffet in the morning was also delicious!

We also booked an in-room massage that was one of the best I've ever had!

Reached around 12 noon due to early flight. Was not expecting to be able to check in early since the check in time was 2pm. The front desk staff was nice enough to check and luckily for us, there was a room available. Rooms are non-smoking throughout and a refundable deposit of 100,000rp per night was required upon check in by cash, credit/debit.

I booked a business deluxe room and it was quite big. The room was okay. Everything was working well. Only I felt the room was a little dim at night, can use with more lamps or brighter ones. Got 2 USB ports available in my room so charging wasn't an issue. Toilet is clean had amenities given.

The room showed signs of aging and I hope the hotel would do some serious maintainence or else...

Cannot comment on breakfast. Did not consume. Not an early bird. But I heard its good.

Staff was very polite. They will greet you whenever they see you. Good job!

Location wise is not bad. Very busy location. Easy to get Grabcar. Always got it within less than 5 mins. To and fro popular malls such as Sunplaza/Centre Point cost min. 11k RP.

Overall satisfied.

Reservations were for three (3) rooms.

- Upon check-in for one of the rooms, the air-conditioner was found to be leaking. Due to high
occupancy rate - hotel could not change the room. A new room was given only the next late afternoon.

- Another room change (room 2) was made without prior notification after the first night.

- Pillows were foam - I had to put a bath towel so that I could sleep.

Stayed 1 night...room great and clean with comfy bed and great view of the city. However check in was very slow, check out slower and service lacklustre. Was surely surprised to see $6 Australian wine selling for over $140....even with govt tax this is a 5 star ripoff.

Pleasant stay with friendly staff

Despite having arrived early at 9.30am, the reception staff was helpful to arrange for a room directly. Everything is in order with the hotel stay. It is a nice hotel with friendly staff. Room size is a bit smaller, but it is fine. Even when the wifi signal was low at a certain time, the hotel sent the IT to install an onsight wifi switch to settle my issue directly. On another event I called the housekeeping but the telephone line was on and off, without asking for any assistance the maintenance staff rang my door just 5 mins later and replaced the phone set. Problem resolving by the hotel was very prompt. The room has a nice surrounding view, however, I was placed to the backside overseeing the Deli river. Housekeeping is very prompt for Indonesian standards. Breakfast is very good, it was one of the best on choices from my past hotel stays, with local specialities and western and fresh fruit juices. Location of the hotel is good, very central in Medan and walking distance to Merdeka. The hotel itself has good food options for those who don't like to leave the hotel.
Hopefully the hotel can keep the current level and standards, I would certainly stay there again.

i book 2 rooms. 1 room for my friend was a deluxe room with a bad smell, even has ask a filter air bad odor to the staff, but still has a terrible smell...maybe because old hotelll with a 5 star of what..... ? and i also book business room for me and... i feel down when i entered the room coz its not even same from the picture when i book it. the room was not great la. same style with the deluxe room. only little little bit spacious. understand when i say little little spacious. next time not book it...dont get tempted by the picture....dont bother by it.

I enjoyed my staying at Hotel Aryaduta Medan. My room was spacious, clean, and the furnitures look new. The breakfast was nice and the hotel served many choices of menu. The hotel is located in a strategic area for shopping and dining. However, there was only one elevetor running as the other one under repairation. We have to wait sometimes to go up or down. Great location, huge room and excellent pool

Stayed 2 nights on April 2016 during my vacation in Medan. I requested for pool view on deluxe room and the room is really huge. One of the plus point is the excellent pool and the great location. U can walk about 400m to Merdeka Walk when they have many restaurant and cafe there. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was good too. I will definitely stay again if i come back to Medan.

Spent 2 nights at the primier room. Not as large as expected..quite minimal facilities. Should include a bathtub or at least a space for work station. The review should provide more pictures of the room. Excellent staff. Quite minimal breakfast selections. The pool is not nice as it is situated in front of the lobby n coffee house..even my kids were reluctant to use it.

Pleasant stay

I have a nice pleasant stay. Love the swimming pool area. It looks great and the breakfast is nice with good view.
