We booked a stay here for our anniversary and were deeply disappointed. The manager was working alone when we checked in and didn’t show us to our carriage accommodation, so we had to find it ourselves with no explanation. The room itself looked lovely, but within 40 minutes of arriving, four different people wandered into the supposedly private hot tub area, and a couple even walked right into our room while we were undressing.

It was incredibly intrusive and upsetting — even after shouting at them to leave, they continued to look around and take the cover off the hot tub. The hotel advertises this as a private room with a private hot tub, but it’s anything but. A single sign telling guests to stay away is useless — there should be proper access control or a gate.

To make things worse, the phone in the room didn’t work, and when I tried calling reception from my mobile, I was left on hold for 20 minutes. Although another room was offered, we were too shaken up to stay. We didn’t even stay for dinner — we just wanted to leave.

For the price we paid, this experience was unacceptable and completely ruined our anniversary. Would not recommend.

The rooms were large, CLEAN,and the beds were comfortable! The grounds are beautiful,but also walkable and serene. I was able to fully relax. The meals were delicious with plenty of options. Each member of the staff that we interacted with was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Looking forward to returning in the spring

Room was perfect for our needs - comfortable, spacious and clean. Apparently there are plans for renovations and upgrades which will further improve the offering.
Highly recommend for a 1-2 night break!

We had a fabulous time. A lot of time and effort is clearly being put into the room, grounds and facilities. The location of hotel is excellent for visiting local historical sites and towns. We had an absolutely beautiful evening meal and breakfast. I would have no hesitation recommending Preston’s restaurant to other people. Service, atmosphere and value for money amazing. The staff are a credit to Bellinter House Hotel.

The staff (especially Steven) was exceptional with their commitment to customer service and assistance. Kudos and applause to them for their gracious hospitality. Regretfully, the deluxe suite we stayed in was freezing cold despite attempts by maintenance to fix it. Also, we woke up every day to find fleas or bugs in the bathroom sink. The common areas are well maintained, but the rooms were shabby and could use a repaint/refresh. The lighting fixtures were not working either and the property could use a major overhaul, despite a wonderful staff.

Where to start? Our check in woman was snotty. As we were struggling to wheel our luggage across loose gravel, we realized we weren't offered any assistance. On our last day, we saw cars parked on said gravel, which would've been much easier but we'd been told to park elsewhere. Our rooms weren't in the main house but in a converted stable! It was sparsely furnished and required a space heater. Our bathroom wasn't cleaned during our stay. Avoid.

The grounds and the main building are so beautiful, like from a movie. I guess the rooms vary significantly. We had one at the stables, which was ok. The radiator didn’t work, but we engaged an electric portable heater and did fine. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was really good. Deniz, our waiter, was so kind. My wife was not feeling well and he brought a fresh peppermint tea.
We had to checkout early to catch a flight at Dublin, so we missed breakfast. I hope to be back someday.

The Bellinter was delightful! What a beautiful property! When we arrived, and saw the Mansion and grounds in person, it was even more breathtaking! This is a Palladian Georgian mansion dating back to the mid 1700’s. The staff are wonderful- attentive, kind and affable (thanks so much Ger for your kindness in serving the 3 of us!). This would be the *perfect* wedding venue- it has all the “goodies” a new couple would want to share with their families- lavish, classy, well-appointed…wish we could have spent more time enjoying the grounds (there’s even the old carriage road leading to the mansion if you look for it!)- the rooms were comfortable and well-appointed- we stayed in the historic “stables”- we’ll be back!

Spa changing rooms were filthy. Hotel send us a message telling us if we wanted dinner at the hotel we would have to book, I replied to the message confirming we wanted a booking but was never actioned. Rooms didn’t look at all like the photos, our room was in one of the out buildings away from the hotel, shampoo refill was empty, member of staff walked into our room without even knocking, then didn’t even bother to apologise.

The Bellinter House and grounds are beautiful. The main lobby, enterance is beautiful as is the dining room. But the diningroom was not well cleaned - dusty, cobwebs all over. Our sleeping room and bathroom were not well cleaned, dusty and cobwebs. There was one mirror in the bedroom but it is too far away from any electrical outlet to be used when drying hair.
Breakfast was not great.

I am planning a trip back to the area and unfortunately will not stay there again.

The hotel and surrounding areas are beautiful and well-maintained. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and tidy.

We had dinner in the \"informal\" restaurant and the quality and prices were as expected (not cheap, but didn't feel overpriced). Breakfast could have been better, but it might have been bad timing since it's a buffet so it will depend on when it gets restocked.

Our room was a good size, the bed was huge and comfortable. The only downside was it was very hot, and it was hard to cool it down since there was no air conditioning and the windows couldn't be opened more than a few inches. Fans were provided, but I imagine this is only a problem for a few weeks of the year.

We enjoyed the hot tub, sauna and steam room, but it would have been nice to have had a swimming pool as well.

We stayed for two nights in “The Ruins” at Bellinter house. First, the drive into the property was exceptional, the grounds are gorgeous and the house itself has that WOW factor upon first sight. We were greeted graciously and were informed about breakfast in the morning. We were pretty tired from the road so we found our room and didn’t explore much.

The next morning we had an Irish breakfast and went for a walk around the property. Very relaxing and charming. The Irish countryside is beautiful!

Dinner at Preston’s on site was pretty great, the “hot stone filet” was incredible. I’ve never had a steak presented like that before. Very unique and delicious.

I gave this hotel four stars because of a few minor things. First, being out in the country and next to a working farm, there were flies in our room, and flies in the restaurant.

Next, noise insulation… or lack thereof. As stated above, we stayed in The Ruins which is detached from the main building. The people above us had kids that were running up and down the steel steps at 6:30 am non stop. As we were on vacation, we don’t get up as early as we do at home… this almost led me to ask for a different room. It’s an old, old building and I’m not sure what could be done.

We would definitely stay here again, knowing what we know I would ask for a room in the main house. The staff were excellent, nothing was a deal breaker… we’re pretty low maintenance except when it comes to restful sleep.

A wonderful country house

This is a lovely historic property with amazing grounds, a wonderful breakfast, accommodating staff, and lovely amenities like the spa and bathrobes in the rooms. Be careful when booking you room, however, that you get what you want... I did not realize until I got there that I would not be getting a room in the main building or the brick ones attached to it, but instead a room in the stables. These should be ok in theory. But for some reason, I was plagued by flies all night. I don't know how they were getting into the room.

We will be back! Staff were 10/10, really made our trip special - It’s the small details with this place. You can tell the staff are happy working here :)
Although the spa is relatively small (at the moment), it was perfect and not too crowded. We had the sauna and steam room to ourselves during our stay, and the jacuzzi for the morning sunrise all to ourselves.
Dinner and breakfast were both amazing too.

From the moment we drove up the stunning driveway, we knew we were in for a special experience. The hotel looked absolutely magical—like stepping back in time. The grounds were breathtaking and beautifully maintained.

The front desk staff went above and beyond, even arranging an early breakfast for us before our flight the next morning. Everyone was incredibly helpful and courteous. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and full of charm.

I have stayed here a number of times and it just gets better. Comfortable room, great atmosphere and food in the bar/drawing room and Judith looked after me incredibly well. I had a guest in for dinner, she made sure we had a good table and were well looked after and then was on hand at breakfast as I left before breakfast was due to start, and I had a delicious breakfast. I was even given a take away Cappucinno!!

We stayed in an upstairs stable room, the room was lovely, beautifully decorated and the bathroom was fab, shower was very powerful and a nice deep freestanding bath. Only complaint was the unbearable heat of the room. Every radiator was scalding hot and there didnt seem to be any way to turn them down or off. The light switch panels also didnt seem to do much, took a lot of button pressing just to get the lights to turn off.

This property is magical! From the moment we drove up, we were in awe! We love the property’s Hailey and everything it has to offer. My husband and I had dinner at Preston’s and WOOOOOW!!!!! The steak was by far the best I’ve ever had, and I am a foodie! Everything was cooked to perfection! We also went to the spa, and it was the best and much needed r&r my husband and I could ask for! If you like shabby chic, you will not care for this property, as they forgot the chic. I get what they are trying to go for, but they missed the mark entirely. The room was filthy (cobwebs, accumulated dust, spiders with actuve webs, stain splatters on wall, mold on ceiling, etc..) and the overall condition was just shabby and run down. We did find the staff to be nice and we did have a good dinner from the bar menu. I would not stay here again.

No doubt a beautiful place, and the staff are friendly. Sadly it is in need of some TLC. The rooms are dilapidated, and a bit grotty. The shower was broken, the room had a scent of wet dog. There was no kettle, I made a tea using the coffee machine which was a bit of a faff. The dinner was sadly below average as well.

I wouldn’t normally feel the need to give feedback on hotels, however I feel it is necessary to warn people that this is not a 4* hotel as listed.
