As part of your stay, you have access to the lodges rather than the castle itself. The castle can be admired from the outside, but it is currently closed to the public, so you can’t go inside.
The grounds are absolutely beautiful, very well maintained and a pleasure to walk around.
The lodges are set up as individual houses, each with four rooms, a shared living room and a kitchen for guests staying in that house. The kitchen is equipped with a coffee machine and tea making facilities.
The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and very clean, with plenty of natural light. The beds and pillows are comfortable, and there is air conditioning in the rooms.
Booking an entire lodge for a family would be ideal, it really feels like having your own private house on castle grounds.
We stayed in Arlington and absolutely loved it.
We didn’t have any neighbours during our stay, which made it especially quiet and peaceful. That said, we can’t comment on how soundproof the rooms are.
There are two restaurants on site. I would recommend choosing breakfast at the Kiln restaurant rather than the buffet included in the B&B rate, as the à la carte options are much better.
There is plenty of parking available, and the views around the property are stunning.
There is also a Jack Nicklaus designed golf course attached to the hotel, which seemed very busy, so it’s best to book your tee time in advance.
Overall, we had a great stay and would come back in a heartbeat

We loved our room and the surrounding gardens and walks. All the buildings are quite new/modern and it was spacious and clean. Check-in should have been quick, but the member of staff was on his own and preoccupied with helping a customer on the phone for quite some time. This was then a theme as we went for dinner and staff forgot about us and were very slow with menus/taking our order and then the bill/payment. This was unfortunate, as otherwise would have given our stay 5 stars.

Housekeeping threw our breakfast out from the shared fridge before checkout but the front desk staff made up for it by providing some fruit from their fridge as replacements. Advertised as perfect for romantic breaks... definitely not. This is a golf resort and probably excellent for that in certain aspects. The castle itself is not in use which is a pity. The accommodation consists of houses with 4 bedrooms and a common area. There is a kitchen but just a microwave and some cutlery, cups etc. No hob to cook and the fridge has no freezer so no ice! Self catering as such but you can't do much with it and a shared fridge etc, ok if you and others rent the entire house.
2-3 minute walk through a courtyard to the clubhouse with gravel/slippy rock path which was awkward for my wife in heels especially in the rain. The menu was pricey and doesn't change and the atmosphere was non existent. We cancelled the next evening's meal and dined elsewhere. The reception was supposed to be open til 11pm but was closed when we left at 9.45.
Overall it was very disappointing and as a couple it was not ideal at all. If you want to play a round of golf and get a bite to eat afterwards it would be great I'm sure.

This is a relatively new property at less than a year old! The lodges are bright, spacious, comfortable and beautiful. Great for Golf getaways, small weddings, or business meetings, or just a peaceful night away. The grounds are gorgeous and the restaurants are fantastic! The staff were all lovely-Helpful, friendly and very attentive without being overbearing.
And for the non golfer, there is a beautiful Castle, and abbey ruins and woodsy walking trails around the lake and ponds. Peaceful and relaxing!

The property was quiet and secluded. The grounds were beautiful and the rooms were big. I was disappointed that there was no fridge or microwave in the room for the price. We had to share a fridge with other guests in a common area. Sara at the front desk was fantastic and just as sweet as could be during every interaction. We stayed 3 days and used it as a home base while we went to Navan and a few other places. If you are a golfer you will enjoy the Arnold Palmer designed golf course. The manager Phillip was also a super nice guy!!

The check in was quick and painless. The apartment was spotless. The common room was nice, beds comfortable, and nice linens. There was a spectacular walked garden across the street which blocked the wind and offered great refuge to and from the restaurant. The restaurant had reasonably priced entrees, the wait staff was efficient and friendly for dinner and breakfast.The door to the common room wouldn't stay open which was odd, they could leave more coffee supplies when there's 10 people residing.

Lovely stay, beautiful new accommodation, really comfy rooms. Accommodation is seperaten from reception & bar etc but a short easy walk. Lodges are lovely and the communal space was nice and relaxing. Very golf focused but we still felt welcome even though we were there for the golf! Would recommend for a couples stay as very relaxing and quiet. We had our young daughter with us and while she was made as welcome as anyone else it probably isn’t the best fit for young families.
