I spoke with duty manager on Sunday before leaving, with the promise that the general manager would phone and/or email. I wanted to give the hotel a fair amount of time to fulfill that side of the agreement.

I want this to be fair… but the issues on Saturday night far outweigh the positives.

Positives:

The hotel room was comfortable. While the bathroom could do with an upgrade the shower was excellent. Check-in was smooth. I had breakfast the first morning and it was cooked to order (not buffet) with excellent ingredients.

ISSUES:

Impossible to Sleep (avoid at all costs at the weekend)

I’ve waited a couple of days to give the general manager time to call and discuss this stay so it’s time to post my honest review (it’s a complaint letter)!

I booked this hotel specifically for its advertised \"quiet and serene\" environment, needing proper rest (I was lecturing all weekend). Unfortunately, my three-night stay was a masterclass in failed hospitality and broken promises, defined by a complete lack of proactive care and transparency.

Their disclaimer about making \"every effort\" to minimise impact felt like a cruel joke. No meaningful effort was made. I was trapped, paying for a room that was unfit for purpose on the most expensive night. I had to favour an extra half hour in bed so had no time to eat the breakfast I had paid for on Sunday!

The management's handling was the true failure. There was no prior warning, other than an email to my spam. Receptionist didn’t mention

DO NOT STAY HERE on the weekends or during any special event. The noise is so disturbing and it will last until 230am inside, and yes,outside the hotel. If they tell you, “they will do their best to accommodate”, don’t believe it. They can’t as you can’t get far enough away from the noise of the DJ, the music, the parties, and so on. In all of my years of traveling, I have never experienced anything like this. The owners obviously do not care about the actual guests of the hotel. We were so looking forward to our stay, and it was terrible. Find another place to stay, and then relish in the beauty of Ireland and its’ wonderful people. Btw, they did discount our stay, but that was not the point. My goodness, such a disservice to the guests.

Just a really good hotel, everything done right.
Good bed, good shower & good breakfast (also had dinner there & it ticked all the boxes).

We were very kindly upgraded to the Bridal Suite as it was our 30 year anniversary. We also received a card and balloons in the room. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We were close to nearby restaurants & bars. Trim is such a beautiful place which we will certainly return to. And we will, of course, stay in the Castle Arch Hotel again ❤️

Property is old and could use some updates. We stayed there to attend a wedding nearby. It was fine, hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We were warned ahead of time that an event would be held at the hotel with music until 2am. That was true and no way to tune it out but there’s not many other options in a small town. Probably wouldn’t go back.

This is a really good hotel nicely located close to town. The staff are wonderful and the hotel is beautifully presented. Good, spacious and clean rooms which are quiet due to the property being set back from the road. Lovely complementary breakfast and I confidently recommend.

The condition of our room and the building was a bit subpar in places, but still a bargain. Staff was very friendly, and Trim is a nice alternative to staying in Dublin before going to the airport after already seeing Dublin.

As we expected for a property of its age. Perfectly comfortable and the staff were brilliant.
We had to come up with a new plan if one of us had to get up during the night. The bed is directly opposite the bathroom. As all switches are outside the bathroom, the light blinded the sleeping person instantly awake! :)

Easy to find, and convient to get to the airport for a morning flight. Nice standard hotel with a parking area in the front courtyard. The hotel has a great dinning room, bar and breakfast area. The breakfast was included in our room rate and was very nice. There was a buffet of juice, toast, and cereal items, and then additionally we ordered off a menu too. It was very convient to have a quick breakfast before our drive to the airport. Also we walked around the town and saw the castle lit up at night. Several good looking restaurants and bars are in walking distance. We tried the two take away pizza shops, which were OK.

Overall, our stay was disappointing.

The hotel is very basic and quite dated in its aesthetic. The double room comprises a regular double bed - not king size which is common in many hotels. Overall it was clean but very jaded and run down. There was nothing added for a little bit of comfort - no drinking water or toiletries etc. All the furniture, bedding, decor etc was old and a bit shabby.

The breakfast is one of the most basic I've experienced. They offer a very small buffet of fruit salad, cereal, toast and juice. There are no yogurts, cheese, pastries etc that one might expect. They also offer cooked breakfasts to order but the choices are limited and don't include things like pancakes, french toast etc.

I think for the price, this hotel does not offer good value for money.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for two nights. We wished to stay in Trim so that we could easily visit the castle and also do some side trips to the surrounding area. The hotel is a bit old, and the ventilation could be improved in the hall of the second floor, but the hotel was still quite satisfactory for our needs. We enjoyed two breakfasts at the hotel and one dinner. (We are both vegetarian.) We would stay in the Castle Arch Hotel again, and we would recommend it to friends.

I Liked the Cleanliness of the Property. The One thing I didn't like was that there was No Vending machine & that at the breakfast tables, there were No Side plates left for toast or milk jugs left on the tables for Teas /Coffees. The Breakfast was really tasty though.
