The property is in a good location in Cali. The included breakfast os excellent an very typical of Cali. My wife and my wife stayed with our 7 month old and had a an excellent stay. We would recommend this hotel for families. I also used the pool and it was very refreshing and a good way to beat the high temperatures in Cali.

A Swiss hotel? Big room, kind of stark and spartan with hard furnishings. Had just what I needed with a blanket, a desk, good lamps, and ample outlets. Former convent??? Stairs only, or oddly steep ramps between floors. Recreating the Alps? Rooms needed better checking and updating between guests: Initially, hot water did not work my first night, which was scary and frustrating. I asked about it, next day (Sunday) and they surmised about an electrical problem above - which was worked on and corrected by evening. Similarly, safe failed because no instructions anywhere. Breakfasts were restrictive and a little stingy. Apparent owner made effort to welcome guests at breakfast. Yet, the atmosphere just felt stark and cold despite staff’s genuine effort to be welcoming. Odd. Hotel seemed to receive habitual return guests. Decent location, a little out of way, but quiet. Safe, with guarded and gated door behind a stone wall. Walkable to pedestrian boulevard, bus routes and known to tours and taxis. Could only find fast food options in area. Despite my complaints, this was my home for seven nights and I had no regrets.

My first time in Cali and I was very impressed.
The property was beautiful, well kept, secure and safe. Every staff member was friendly and made you feel at home. They look out for your safety while waiting for Ubers and are very hospitable.

The air conditioning worked perfectly— the rooms were clean and cozy, and the breakfast was Fresh and cooked by order (very accommodating if you had a request). The owner briefly greets you personally each morning while having breakfast to make you feel at home.

The pool and property was maintained very well. You can tell the owner and staff take pride in hospitality.
From helping you with your bags, to making sure you are safe, and happy. From the front desk to the cleaning crew, everyone was absolutely wonderful.

My only hope is they have rooms available next time I am in Cali because I will most definitely stay here again. I was Very impressed.

The hotel is certainly beautiful, you get plenty for the price. The breakfast (was better than expected, tbh) has different options, if you want eggs, granola, etc. There are multiple nooks and crannies to explore around the place. Multiple benches to relax, read, chat and enjoy the day, you may cross paths with an adorable and playful doggy (there's also a friendly cat). There is a pool, there's a gym, the location is superb.
The staff was overall helpful and friendly (except, perhaps, for one of the counter ladies). I had an issue with the room and after some time I got another one, so props for that.
Overall, pretty, good for the price, nice location and even the owner goes to say hi during breakfast.

If you are looking for an antique experience, this is the place. Very clean and colonial look. But bathroom supplies aren't provided except a large towel and room has no iron. But the ambience of the hotel is nice.

Staff were very nice and helpful with the fact I didn’t speak soanish. Wifi was bad- if you are looking for a place and need reliable wifi, this is not it.
Beautiful hotel.

Solo female travellers- door locks are bad and someone could easily pick locks or push the door in. Travel with safety locks, preferably the door stopper one.

Only issue when I arrived- they couldn’t find my reservation anywhere. Never did find it. Luckily I had several ways to prove I paid for it and it was active. They put me in a random room anyways. So there’s that.

I really liked this hotel and the staff were excellent. They have that old school hotel values, good prompt professional service, very caring. The mattresses were excellent, and firm. Which is important for someone like me with a back condition. The restaurant is very good, better than many in the area. My only criticism of my stay is that there were sometimes bad smells from outside that would drift into the hotel, but in my experience (and I stayed in San Antonio for a month in different hotels) this also happened in other hotels too. I think it is the drains. So there is probably not much that can be done about that. Thank you very much for the stay.

El hotel es una edificación muy bonita, bien ubicada. Lo mejor la amabilidad de todo el personal y el excelente trato que le dan a las mascotas. La comida es buena aunque deberían tener más variedad a la hora del desayuno. El hotel necesita mantenimiento en algunas áreas, deben cambiar la alfombra y hacer mantenimiento a la madera y a los baños, el de la habitación donde nos quedamos botaba agua todo el día. El precio es muy adecuado, aunque las comidas son algo costosas. La habitación es muy ruidosa en la noche por los carros que pasan por la vía junto al hotel. Tienen buena televisión y con canales. Volveré a quedarme en este hotel. Lo recomiendo.

Hotel was really nice, beautiful colonial look, good breakfast/coffee, our room was clean, had really cute spots to chill and hang out or just unwind. Totally cute vibes. Only negative which I did report was that our room window lock was broken and also the screen. I see that as a safety concern as it could be easy access for anyone to climb thru a window regardless of it being on the second floor. Every other window also had bars except for our room so I’d think even more they’d be on top of the windows at least being able to lock. Hopefully they fixed it but I’d suggest just making sure before going to bed as to when I did report it the front desk staff seemed dismissive.

I paid for the triple room, the AC wasn’t working properly so we moved to another room with poor AC eventually settling for a room with two double beds though I paid for the triple room, has two rooms and it sleeps 4. There was one receptionist who was insisting we had to pay for additional people. The room sleeps 4 and those rooms cost more because there’re larger and sleep more people. The reservations do not mention additional costs per person. We were going to be there for two weeks, that’s why I wanted the larger room but in the end I paid for the larger room and continued to be down graded with no refund or reimbursement of the difference.

Gorgeous property with lots off trees and plants. Service and cleanliness were very good. Although they have lots of ramps it could be a little challenging for some clients with mobility problems. It is solidly in the tourist zone with access to plenty of restaurants, museums and shopping. My biggest issue was that although they had AC in the room it was quite noisy.

Enrique and the staff at this historical Cali hotel are wonderful. I stayed there 38 years ago and it is just as new as back then. Lovely grounds and a great price. Close / walkable to downtown. 24 hour security made us fell safe.

I loved this hotel. I felt like a museum. The artwork, the dining room and the overall decor was nice. I liked that they had 24/7 security and it was so close to the mall and the river. Also the staff was very nice. The only thing that was a little difficult was the toilet was very close to the wall and as a tall guy my face was almost touching the wall when I used it. Besides that If I ever go back to Cali I know where I'm staying.

The hotel is located near the Peñon area of Cali, an area with a good selection of restaurants. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast time is a pleasant experience with numerous dishes available. On most days the hotel offers other meals as well. The hotel has a classic atmosphere that is most agreeable. Across the street from the hotel there is a tourist office that can provide useful information about Cali. The hotel staff and management are friendly and attentive. I had a most enjoyable stay and I am happy to recommend this hotel.

It is Charming!!!! The staff is like family. They are so nice and helpful. The place to really clean. It is quite and very safe with a guard at the locked gates. Breakfast included but had 4 choices. Dinner is also good. One improvement suggestion. Buy more pool lounge chairs. 1 for the pool is not enough.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous for people who enjoy colonial style hotels . It’s on tbe side of a mountain and covered with trees and vegetation. It hides you away from the city . The hotel is beautiful and so are the staff!!! This is the only hotel i will stay at when visiting Columbia..there is security 24 hrs.. personal cab.. there’s a restaurant inside the hotel so you don’t have to leave to get food and the food is amazing.. the place is beyond clean!!! Everyone is lovely and amazing and will help you with any questions you have.

I spend almost 150 nights in last years here whenever I came here for business trip.
This time, it was a terrible experience . Last night I requested owner for USD exchange. He told me to collect next day. Next day I went to him and gave USD. He kept money in his pocket and then telling me that he already gave exchange last night. After lot of arguments, I asked to show CCTV footage. Then he realized and returned my USD.
Very bad experience this time.

Not the best place for the price

Hotel Stein is a nice older house but I found the noise outside on the street to be horrible. I stayed three nights and every night I struggled to fall asleep because of the noise. A colleague had a window left open and was bitten by mosquitoes all night. The next morning he found the window to be loose and the screen not fitting. The doors have a simple lock that can be jimmied and not sure how safe the area is around the hotel and if it would be easy to get inside. The front desk closes at 9 pm. Another colleague arrived later and the guard did not know she was checking in even though I had mentioned to them she was going to be late. The beds are incredibly hard and the towels are paper thin. This is not an expensive hotel but considering everything else it is more similar to a hostel. I will not stay here in the future.

Nice and safe amily hotel in quiet neighborhood. Stylish yet not antique wise furnitured Sleeping comfort excellent. Restaurant limited a.la carte possibilities but friendly priced. Small Swimmingpool . Good value for your money but not a family orientated hotel for a longer stay but excellent place to spend some time to get to know Cali.

The only down side was that our room joined another (with a locked door in between) which meant it was quite noisy from our neighbours. I suspect that is the case only for these two rooms though.

We are a family of 5 (kids aged 8, 4, and almost 1). Hotel is gorgeous old mansion with tons of character. Owner and staff are friendly. We had one mishap where they were confused about our arrival time (am vs pm) and we didn't get picked up at the airport. Other than that we have no complaints and would definitely stay there again when visiting Cali.

Bed & Breakfast Castle/Old Charm style hotel

I was impressed by the charm of this mini castle in Cali, Colombia. It's in a prestigious areal of Cali and quite close to all things. You can take a pleasure walk, walk to the mall or simply enjoy the hotel, it's administrator (Enrique) and his most accommodating staff. Breakfast was simple, but fresh and quite tasty. You have access to a refrigerator in the lobby with various sodas and water. We also had fresh water outside of our very comfortable room. The room was comfortable and ours had air conditioning (not all rooms have it). Every member of the staff was pleasant and always \"at your service\".....what a pleasant place to stay and where I will stay when I visit Cali again.

Overall, our stay was wonderful! We had a little trouble with the Internet service, and the towels were very rough. The hotel staff was more than helpful & friendly!! We felt safe with the gated entrance & stone wall that surrounded the property. The hotel was very quaint, and we enjoyed the atmosphere! There was a patio right outside our door that made our morning coffee even more enjoyable!
