The hotel was unresponsive to advance email about trip delay. Initial room was very hot and very noisy. Moved us to an inferior smaller room with smaller bed. We had booked a superior room with a large bed. Hotel manager (male) was rude. No offer to compensate us for the room difference. Other staff were friendly. We will not stay here again.

The man on night shift was so lovely very helpful. The females on reception not to helpful. Room immaculately clean and left great by housekeeper. Room was so noisy, very disturbed sleep. Asked for a wake up call and reception were happy to provide this for my early flight. Location amazing, 15 min walk to beach, shops and restaurants within 100m.

This was a perfectly situated hotel in the historic part of Malaga , walking distance to everywhere within 5 minutes. The beach was a further 10 minutes away on foot. Plenty of shops , bars and restaurants. We had two disappointments , pool was being refurbished and no access to solarium on rooftop which we had planned to use. photograph on booking shows a rooftop pool?
Breakfast was plentiful and a good choice for all. It was immaculate snd clean everywhere. Rooms were quite small and very noisy but you expect that really. We enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic location as situated in the old town of Malaga so it was very easy to locate nice tapas restaurants and wine bars. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and were able to provide us with things like a kettle for our room.

The buffet breakfast was varied with lots of options from fresh fruits, cereals, meats, cheese, toast and hot bacon and sausages.

It was a very relaxed environment and even though we were only there one night we enjoyed out stay.

Hotel was perfect, very clean and comfortable little room. Fabulous pool and rooftop solarium. Perfect central location, right in the beautiful old town. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming (especially a male staff member who was working reception on August 6th 7th!) Thank you!
Only thing to note is that due to the hotels location being so central, the noise on the street outside was very loud all night so I didn’t sleep very well (through no fault of the hotel) - Our room was number 208 right by the street so I might recommend asking for a different room that may be quieter!

Wonderful location! We could walk everywhere. Most tourists attractions are within 5 to 10 minutes walk. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Service was excellent and very helpful with suggestions and answered all of our questions. For some reason my phone didn’t connect to the Internet but they signed me in to theirs. My husband didn’t have a problem with it. Clean room and comfortable beds. Small room but perfect for a couple. Did not have breakfast there because we overslept everyday.

Service is exceptional! Great location to enjoy the sightseeing in Malaga on foot. The parking is convenient and affordable when prebooked through the hotel. Only€15 per 24 hours. The rooms are nicely decorated albeit small. The shower was hot and with good pressure. Would definitely return and recommend this.

Nice little hotel in a great location.
The room was quite small and in a corner of the building so all our windows were facing a wall. We weren't particularly happy about that but we didn't complain - we checked in quite early (just after 11am) so perhaps that was the only room available so early. Apart from that the overall experience was good.

Pleasant stay

Me and my partner stayed here for three nights, and had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is located 1 minute to old town and 10 minutes to the beach, which was very convinient when we wanted to walk and to get around. The breakfast was nice, and over all we slept good without any noises.

In the right room, I really like this hotel

We stayed for 2 nights but had 2 individual bookings because of change of plans. Thus, we stayed in different rooms both nights.
The first room was kind of annoying since it was located on the ground floor (so we had the curtains closed all day), next to the breakfast room, next to the baggage and laundry room, and was therefore very noisy in the morning. We also had twin beds instead of a double, even though the double bed was chosen in the booking. Also, the aircon was auto-controlled and the room could not be heated. When we got cold at night, the staff was happy to bring us an additional blanket and we informed them about the aircon the next morning; someone took a look immediately, which was nice.
The second room was much nicer and we truly enjoyed our stay. Thus, I guess it depends on the room a lot. The staff was at all times helpful and welcoming.

Really nice hotel in good location

This was a really nice hotel in a good location in the city centre (old town). Facilities were modern and the bed was comfortable. We booked the larger room for 3 guests and it was spacious and had a double balcony overlooking the cobblestone street below. Swimming pool was a bonus in the July heat.

Spent 3 nights in the Itaca in June before travelling to Mojacar. Bit hard to find but after that everything from check in to room request went great. Don't normally have breakfast so cant comment on quality but seemed to be the normal continental breakfast choice. Room seemed to have been recently updated with good shower and very comfy bed

The sun loungers and pool on rooftop terrace need to be cleaned. Buffet breakfast lacks choice of cereal and fruit and when we asked for ice we were told hotel did not have an ice machine. Putting these things right would greatly improve the experience

1. The staff in reception only understand basic English which only know the phase about check in/out, when you ask for other thing they could hardly to understand.
2. The phone in the room wasn't in function, can't make call to the reception. in case of any emergency, don't think you could ask for help.
3. We found a huge dirty mark on the bed sheet and cover, serious hygiene problem

Desk and maintenance staff was superb, extremely courteous and kind, especially housekeeping people. Breakfast was fine, except the staff were very abrupt and at times rude. I left with an apple in my mouth and was told I must return to my table and eat it as no food could leave the room! I was never asked to sign my check, I was shoved a pen and ordered to sign. I think perhaps the lady was basically just unhappy. I would not recommend eating lunch or dinner there. I had a tuna dish that I think was just a canned hunk of tuna poured over fried potatoes ( we call these French Fries in America). It was truly the worst thing I've ever tasted in a hotel cafe. The area eateries were all superb, so go elsewhere to eat.

A 20 sq. m room is not big. The double bed is small. There are no cupboards for clothes and we lived out of a suitcase. It would have been interesting if we had 2 cases! It is well located and the staff are good.

- Very good location, very central yet not loud or too busy.
- Good value
- Clean throughout hotel
- Pleasant and helpful staff
- Free safe (very rare - wish other hotels would follow suit!)

- Bed was not hugely comfortable
- Only one breakfast buffet option available, at €7.50pp, so if you didn't want much to eat this is quite expensive
- No tea or coffee-making facilities in room

Lots of noise. First, the street side rooms get loud patron noise from nearby bars until 3am. Secondly, the walls are \"paper thin\" and you can hear those in the next room speaking normally and snoring. Third, the hotel finds it necessary to place all the plastic tables and chairs outdoors under the windows of the guest rooms at 7am - even though nobody sits in them until lunch. The sound of these tables and chairs being dragged along the pavement/sidewalks every morning did not provide the sleeping environment for which I paid - especially when bars made noise until 3am. Also, desk clerks are not prepared with any information on tours for tourists during peak tourist week. I was told they were out of tour brochures and I was given vague directions to a tourism office even though it is travel agents who must book tours. This tourist hotel should be prepared with brochures and travel agent locations. Good location.

Very nice hotel in a centric location

I would recommend this hotel. Staff was helpful and very nice. It is close to most things in Malaga. The only issue we had was with the a/c heating unit. In the winter you cannot switch, you only get heating so the room was extremely hot and we had to sleep with the balcony door open. Room was pretty big and very clean.

Chose this hotel for its location, but in the end it was incredibly noisy outside our room until at least 3am. The staff were not unfriendly, but weren't helpful either and one afternoon there was nobody on reception when some people arrived & they were waiting for service. Our room also had a really bad smell from the drains which gurgled & didn't drain properly. We only stayed 2 nights but I did mention the smell to the man on reception but wasn't confident it would get sorted. I would not recommend this hotel-there are plenty others to choose from!

Close to 'heart' of Malaga

We had a great 4 nights in Malaga.
Very easy to find the hotel- we took a bus from the airport and it was just max 10 min walk from the bus stop. Then very quick check in and usefull info which we get from the recepcionist.
Very close to 'heart' of Malaga- shops, restaurants, tavernas, museums, catedral. 20 mins by walk to the Malagueta beach but that wasn't a problem for us. I would definitely reccomend the hotel!

Short Stay to do some day trips

The best hotel of our month long vacation. Check in short and sweet, room was ready, A/C worked like a charm. Large spacious room. Wonderful shower!!!, TV was able to change from Spanish to English which was very nice. On site cafe was excellent. Front desk was able to help with 2 tours we took, Gibraltar and Tangiers as well as direct us to the local bus station for our own day trip to Marbella. Roof top pool and sitting area was a excellent touch

Great hotel for short break in Malaga

We stayed at the Itaca Malaga hotel as a 3 day, 3 night extension to our beach holiday on the costa del sol, the hotel is a short walk from the Malaga Centro train station, It is a small boutique stile hotel, and is nicely decorated and very clean, Staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a small pool and sun bathing terrace on the roof, breakfast was good. Most of the main tourist sights are within walking distance from the hotel. Only thing we would have like was tea/coffee making facilities in the room. would defiantly stay there again.

It was extremely hard to find (took us over 2 hours driving around the City Centre). Access was through a cobblestone walkway which was not marked. Parking was very tight and our car was damaged. The hotel staff was very nice, but didn't make up for the difficult arrival. The neighbourhood was very good for shopping and eating.

Great location but room standard was poor and the reception smelt like drains.

TV didn't work. Wifi was intermittent. Top floor rooms were really poor standard and need rennovating more like student accommodation.

But . . .

It was close to a lot of stores and places to eat. It was central and not to far from the AVE (train station). It was walking distance to the castle and the port as well. The price was great, no complaints here. Wifi was decent but no wifi is great in hotels if you ask me. I had no complaints about this hotel.

We loved this. Although we were opposite the lift( aargh, nightmare) we were not disturbed unless a few giggly girls were waiting there.

after an awful start (see previous review re car park) .. if only we were told by hotel we could park in any of them a lot of stress would have been avoided .. however the hotel was in an excellent location very central for what we wanted to see ... staff were friendly, room and hotel were clean i would definitely stay at this hotel again especially knowing any of the car parks near CAMAS would be sufficient
