Guests were not appropriately treated on arrival. They were threatened that they will not get the room, unless pay the charges for the stay in full before checking in! I tried messaging your Resort multiple times, but never received a reply!
Reply to email requesting to send a pre-payment link so that I can settle it before guests arrival, unfortunately reply was delayed.
Anyways, overall satisfied with services provided. I will hesitate to recommend in future.

The facility was good and we had a room with a wonderful pool and sea view. We enjoyed the sunrise over the Bay of Bengal. Activities wise on a weeknight, it was boring after high tea. Hotel needs to have some activity or show after sunset even on weeknights.

The property was beautiful, well maintained landscaping within the property and amazing amenities.
However, the beach access area needed a little bit of cleaning and better maintenance. I took a morning stroll to the beach and encountered lots of plastic and trash.

Furthermore, all 3 visitors got head lice after visiting the property (never had), this is likely from the bedding/towels in the room. It is very frustrating but I encourage the hotel to take more care while washing or changing beddings and toiletries.

A disappointing stay

We were generally disappointed with our stay, especially as it is one of the most expensive we have stayed, almost double what we paid in Mysuru which was excellent.
Started with having to change rooms immediately because of a bad smell in the bathroom, although the staff were helpful in the process and there was no problem in the replacement room.
The resort is huge and not easy to find your way around, no printed map avaliable and signage very poor.
The hotel is also quite dated especially around the infinity pool area a lot of either missing or badly repaired grout. Also limited sunbeds and shade available and toilets badly in need of refurbishment.
Found the food fairly average and food and drink prices high. The service was also hit and miss, although we found Kajal very pleasant in the waves restaurant. There is a beach adjacent to the hotel but no effort from the hotel to encourage you to use it, no tables or sunbeds avaliable. Not sure how the hotel has so many favourable reviews it's not a place we would go back to, Radisson really need to invest in the property as at the moment I think it's an embarrassment to the brand.

The cost of this resort is too high. A room service and buggy ride calls are very slow. The cost of the restaurant is very high and not worth it. A2B is very close to this resort. This restaurant is ideal for both lunch and dinner. We had an issue with room allocation. After two hours of check-in time, Radisson staff (Rahul) helped us resolve the issue.

For the area I would give this property 4 stars. It is a small fishing town and besides the monuments and shopping there isn’t too much to do. The beach is nice but dirty. There is trash everywhere. The pool is very pleasant. The rooms are basic but the bed was very comfortable. We did bot have hot water but because it was warm I didn’t mind too much the cold water. Food was descent.

I had 2 rooms for 3 days to spend some quiet time with my family. Last day I had a friend visit me and she was not allowed entry to the property or go sit by the beach. We were made to sit at the front lobby from 6am to 7.30am before I could take her to breakfast and say goodbye. If GRT thinks they own the beach so be it but you have no right to disrespect your guest or their visitors esp when the rule was not stated or documented anywhere. Train your staff to use their brains and discretion to provide better customer experience. Very disappointed with this treatment. GRT management owes an apology to my friend.

Location is great. The employees are good and friendly when talked to. Breakfast was just ok. Swimming pool was not open for use but looked dirty in general. Painful to walk on the rough pavements everywhere. Slow Buggy service - 30 mins wait times. Stinking Bathrooms always moist no ventilation. Fluctuating power - turns off every now and then - atleast 3 times every hour. Absolutely zero marks to this resort on Accessibility/wheelchair. No ramps whatsoever for wheelchair. Indoor sports not air-conditioned.. and slow fans, too sweaty. Kids play area outdoor full of weeds & bugs/insects. Garden view rooms are really forest view rooms. Too many flies/mosquitoes everywhere. No wheelchair ramps on the walkway to the beach. No real lawns to play badminton/cricket etc. Toilet flush tank was dripping water all the time - so much water wasted. Complimentary fruit plate provided after long delay and upon multiple requests. In-room dining service is the slowest ever experience… the location of our room far from the kitchen could be the reason but it was frustrating nevertheless.

Had good fun over the weekend, top notch cleanliness during these covid times. Good food option and really sumptuous breakfast. But some minor niggles like mix and match switches in the room, rusty parts in decorative lights and mainly very noisy bed/mattress.. not the kind of things I expected from a five star property. The hotel was great in terms of location and proximity to the town. The beach was clean and secure. However, there were some facilities which didn’t feel like a 5* star hotel - service wasn’t great, the staff weren’t cordial when it came to discussing change of rooms, rooms & furnitures weren’t spot clean like other similar 5* properties.
Overall my rating would be 3.5/5. I was disappointed with the in room facilities, features and service. But the location and property as a whole was fantastic, the breakfast spread was pretty amazing.

Good - could be better !!

We were a couple and wanted to visit the tourist attractions in Mahabs so booked the hotel for 2 nights. The property is pretty massive and neatly maintained. Kudos to the staff on that. The swimming pool spans the entire length of the property with the chalet rooms on either side facing the pool. They have a nice viewing deck from where you can see hundreds of crabs on the beach which was cool. The beach isn't private though and you get a strong fish smell if you walk a few metres along the coast.
The room wasn't up to the mark. The bed was massive and comfortable and the room was spacious. It looked great and had a good view, but the bathrooms could be better. It seemed old and definitely needed some upkeeping.
Breakfast was also good with a wide variety of lacto-ovo vegetarian options. Property is close to Adayar Ananda Bhavan if you crave for good veg meals too.
Check-in was smooth but check-out was annoying as they wanted to double check the mini bar causing a delay.
8.5 out of 10 for the whole experience.

A fabulous location and great view from the infinity pool with direct access to beach also. Enjoyed views from beach side chalet also. Worth paying for. On the down side this is not at international standards in terms of maintenance or cleanliness. Had to have cigarette butts cleared from my balcony and the lawn in front of chalet from previous guests. Some facilities shabby looking and inside room quite worn in places, esp the bathroom. Also nearly an hour wait for check in so missed some time for pool in the sun, but did give additional hour for check out next day but only reluctantly.

The pool is amazing. And they have two of them!
The property is expansive and the chalets around the pool are very good. There were some issues that we had with our room not being cleaned and the minibar/fridge cabinet being locked. There was also an issue with the airconditioner which took a very long time to resolve. However, upon complaining they were able to get things fixed quickly, but not before we escalated the issue. The restaurant was really good, the food and service were excellent. The breakfast buffet was expansive and had a lot of variety and the food was delicious. Check in took a long time. Overall the property is great.

When we arrived, the reception lobby was very chaotic and the staff cannot manage the crowd. Should be more attentive. We waited until 2.45 to ask about our room and the reception was not sure of our earlier check in. We wonder that if we don't ask, will they just let us wait until much later. It is a good hotel but handling of guests who just arrived need more care and diligence. The first impression of the atmosphere of Radisson Blu is marred by this haphazard experience. We also noticed that the reception is more attentive to larger crowd checkin and people who are not more than 2 will get less propriety. Large crowd check in gets shell necklaces and drinks served. We got nothing and have to go help ourselves to the drinks.

After spending some time in the city of Chennai, it was refreshing to arrive at this resort and see the beautiful beach and the relaxing pools.
The room was very spacious and the AC worked great. The housekeeping staff was very helpful and extremely friendly. I can not say the the same for the front desk staff. It seemed like every time we were dealing with someone at the front desk they either acted annoyed by our questions or they just simply couldn’t help us.
The property is beautiful, but cleanliness is lacking. Most of the towels in the rooms and the linens in the restaurants are stained.
The hotel does offer airport shuttle service for a fee each way. They can also arrange for drivers to take you where you need to go in town. While we were there we arranged for a driver to take us to the local sites and when they showed up there was also a tour guide. I thought that was a nice feature until we got back to the hotel and found out we had to pay twice as much as the quoted since we had to pay for the driver and the tour guide. When we acted surprised about the addition 1,500 (rupees) charge, the driver said he would take just 750 instead. The whole thing seemed like of suspicious and not something you would expect from a service you booked through the hotel.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you are in the area and looking for a relaxing getaway but do not expect the service you get at most beach resorts.

Nice hotel and very friendly staff. But only issue is with the money charged for almost everything. For example, tender coconut outside the gate is 100Rs, inside is 1107Rs!! In the pool, the paddling boat for kids is 500Rs plus tax for 30 mins - something which should be free. Almost all activities are paid. Unless you are the type of traveler who has a lovely breakfast and does not spend much money you will find this an expensive place. On balance, the hotel does offer a complimentary high tea with snacks, which is very good value. They also offered a delayed checkout and the children's activity room with Playstation games are good on a rainy day. Overall good, could have been excellent!! There could have been deck chairs on the beach but again this is not the case.

A lovely retreat in South India

A large and busy retreat with the longest swimming pool in India winding through the property and an infinity pool just looking directly out to the Bay of Bengal / Indian Ocean. Many rooms so it can get very full if a tourist bus suddenly arrives but big enough that you can find space. There is no sandy beach as the sea is too rough and there is no protective bay to break the wind and the waves. Our sea view room was right on the coast line so had an amazing view. The private jacuzzi was a nice touch, though a bit broken, while the outside bathroom was good when the weather was not too hot and humid (no a/c and not enclosed so completely subject to the external conditions). Overall, a lovely stay.

It is truly paradise on earth. The hotel is beautiful in every aspect, whether it be the amazing swimming pool running the length of the hotel, or the mind-blowing infinity pool overlooking the sea, the greenery, the rooms etc. Try and book a pool facing room if the sea facing room is out of your budget.
I would say its even better than Taj's Fisherman's cove. Must go. The Wharf restaurant by the sea is one of the best in the area.

Expected much more from a Raddison hotel having stayed with the group before last time in Indore that hotel was superb. Temple Bay bad. The breakfast was poor tepid at best staff needed proper training. The security at the main gate was a joke a quick cursory look by laughing staff. Two young men were challenged by an Indian guest we befriended as they were walking around the hotel grounds near to the bedrooms. He spoke to them in both English and Hindi and asked if they were staff or resident to which he did not get a response and they left. Also that same guests room key opened his parents room door. Not very encouraging for security.
The bathroom was dirty including the towels. Almost like the hotel the world forgot.

Excellent place for a family retreat!

We all enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were very well looked after from the time we arrived to departure. Hotel staff were very helpful and courteous. This hotel has two excellent swimming pools and their breakfast is excellent and had lots of varietie. We recommend this hotel to all walks of life and happy to go back again.

Top of the line!!

Perhaps one my best stays.
The resort is just on the beach and the overall architecture is very nice. Lovely pools and private beach access. I spent most of my time in the water
I tried three restaurants among four and food is anyways five star quality. I can't say more as I am not a foodie exactly but its good standard
I think the best part is the staff. The are fantastic. Everyone I interacted with at every occasion went beyond their duties to make us comfortable. They are the ones that's the best part of this resort which is anyways otherwise one of the best I have ever visited
Close your eyes and choose it. You will just love it.
As for me every time I am here, I will visit

Excellent beach side resort, great facilities

This is an excellent beach side resort with great facilities and staff. If they worked on the food aspect, they would get a 5/5! The only issue we had was that food options are few and more oriented towards foreign guests; fewer for veggies. However, staff more than makes up for this by accommodating special requests, especially for kids

Family stay for 2 nights

My over all experience was really great. Excellent property and lot of activities for kids. Arun at reception has pleased me in all aspects. Food was outstanding and I would say one level up compared to most of the Taj properties that I visited.

Only issue I faced in Temple Bay was the hot water. Hot water is not enough for one complete bath and next person have to wait for at least another 10-15 mins to get decent hot water.

Other than this everything was extremely good and I would recommend this hotel for my friends and family.

Beach side 5 star hotel

The hotel is right on the beach front. The rooms are spacious & comfortable. The bed size could have been a bit bigger. Breakfast is good. Overall a comfortable beach side hotel.
