The hotel was tired and rundown but the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was great and the food in both the breakfast area and the restaurant at night were good. Was nice and quiet when we stayed but would be very noisy when it’s full moon party time!

Great location right on the beach. The pool.is everything you need and they give you beach towels eveey day. The rooms are big, decently decorated and furnished with everything you need. Air con worked well especially with the fan. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Breakfast had decent options and great to be included. Very convenient and lovely stay.

The check in was smooth. However, the shower was most disappointed. The water pressure is so low that you can't take a proper shower. You have to use the bidet instead. The rooms need some update n made good whatever fixtures are install. In addition the rooms rate are exorbitantly expensive for one night stay on Full Moon Party. I had to pay RM1,400.00.

Problems with air-conditions non-stop but staff were very helpful and tried to fixed them but they were too old, need to be replaced! Changed the room at the end but spent a lot of time fixing them instead of enjoying the beach!!

STAY AWAY!!! DO NOT PRE-PAY!!!

The images on the website are 10 years old at least. We booked a beachfront bungalow and when we arrived we quickly realized we were bait and switched. The front door lock was not secure, the front window had been replaced with a piece of wood. The AC was running but no cold air was coming out, it was effectively broken. No linens were provided. We did not feel safe at all and left immediately!

Much nicer places next door that are actually taken care of for the same price if not cheaper. When confronted about the images on the website not being correct, their response in broken English was \"The images are not right but it does not matter\" pretty much sums up their attitude towards their property and guests. Hotels.com and the property would not issue a refund, we are now fighting the charge with our CC. DO NOT PRE-PAY!!! I have been to Koh Phangan 4 different times over the last 15 years. It is an amazing island with beautiful Thai people and culture, many other wonderful properties to stay at in Haad Rin and other parts of the island.

If you’re looking for the perfect Full Moon party place, this hotel is perfect! Besides the fact that the hotel is located on the best side of the beach in Haad Rin, the party is at your doorsteps right on the beach with the convenience of private use of toiletries right in your room. I enjoyed being able to change and rinse off all that I needed (FYI it is hot climate!) The staff was very accommodating and friendly. There is a huge morning spread for breakfast, at the corner restaurant, that is excellent for people watching (make sure to try the egg noodle soup with pork and wontons from the ladies at the stand). There is also a Seven Eleven right across from corner restaurant that sells all your necessities water, beer, snacks. I truly recommend this resort even if you are not there for the full moon party. It is not costly and worth the money you pay for.

All staff at the hotel was very helpful and kind. From the reception, to the pool, to the breakfast area everyone was polite and discreet.
The mattress in the room was just fantastic. Big size bed. Excellent for a sound sleep. Noise was kept to a minimum and the man at the reception would make sure any attempt for a night pool party or loud music was kept under control.

We basically went there for the full moon party. If your not there for the full moon party stay away! Room was bad. AC didn’t work unless the bathroom lights were off. Room didn’t get cleaned until we asked - an excuse about being too busy and that we didn’t put a sign even though we did. Wifi was worse than not having any. ONLY GOOD FOR FULL MOON(half moon) PARTY NIGHT. check in and check out after.

Horrible staff will try to rip you off

This hotel has the potential to be great, however the staff at the reception desk was completely rude he tried to rip us off and almost made us miss our ferry to our next destination. Strategically failed to tell us about the extra charges if there was any paint from the half moon party on the towel (even though it would wash off in the wash) and then wanted to charge us 350 baht per towel. I would highly recommend not staying here there was no one staying here when we were there and its clear to see why!!!!

I stayed in family suit, room 201. Ok the room was clean, view was very good, pool and ocean both views. but nothing working! Locks not working, tv not working, air conditioning is very poor performance, coffee kettle was all rusty! Pool filteration system was out of order or was very poor. Breakfast was just basic. In short not a value of money i paid at all. I paid

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Sunrise Resort. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room has everything you need, had a great view of the Full Moon beach from the balcony! Overall had an awesome time, would totally recommend it!

Full moon party headquarters, but we were lucky to be there when the place was empty and no festivities were happening. It was a very pleasant and PERFECT stay! Beautiful beach and very relaxing place. The beach bar has very friendly staff and great food, 2 min walking distance to 7-eleven, massage places, clinic, shops, everything. Place is beautiful, but a little old and can use some love, also one bad detail at check out, we were charged for a missing water glass that was never there to begin with. Overall, very pleasant stay.

Wanted to love it but we’re disappointed

After previously staying at this resort we had high hopes for our return to Sunrise resort only to be really disappointed.

One of the main reasons we chose to stay again was because of the pool and swim up bar.

On our arrival, the pool was green to the point where the staff wouldn’t let you swim as it wasn’t safe. No apologies were given or discounts offered. After waiting 3 years to for a holiday this was a major bummer.

The rooms were in fantastic condition and the cleaning was done really well.

One last major annoying factor was that one of the bars on the beach about half a Klm away was so load the subwoofer shook the hotel and made it unbearable to sleep! While I can party with the best of them, after 3am if the club is empty and it’s keeping people in all the other hotels awake it’s bad for business.

Fortunately the hotel moved us to another part of their complex which made our stay much better but they seemed pissed off that we asked, despite there being many empty rooms.

Anyway I think it’s generally a great hotel it’s just the owners need to figure out what to do about noisy neighbours as it made us not want to go back to what is normally one of our favourite islands.

The hotel is by the beach located in haad rin its the central of the full moon parties. If you are going to attend to one of these parties by the beach, then this hotel is for you. If you are there to relax, dont expect a quiet time since many people hang out at balconies and chit chat. The hotel does not provide face or hair towel., when we asked face towel, the hotel staff told us to buy it from a store. The room does get cleaned whenever they want but all for done before 3pm.

Wasn’t good at all coz of bad service, and they change my room 2 Times, first because of toilet then the air conditioning, between the the stuff was showting of my friend, but it was stuff mistake!! The towel was dirty too.
One more thing I saw the stuff was having sigirate on my balacone when they trying to fix the air condition!!

Stayed here for a few nights and over the full moon. I've stayed in a couple hotels during the full moon but this one was downright dreadful for noise. The room itself was not great but manageable, staff was easy to talk to and helpful when you asked but other than that it's way overpriced for what you get.

Mostly loved staying here. There was a constant noise that the staff said is due to a water pump which was a little annoying. You could also hear a heavy bass coming from the beach while trying to sleep but this hotel is on the party beach. Lovely overall!! Great price, breakfast included, lots of shopping near by, gorgeous pool, AC, mini fridge, safe box, nice bathroom, balcony, very clean, lovely staff, and a great book about Buddhism.

Considering this hotel was 2x-3x more expensive than other resorts on the island I was quite disappointed.

Overall maintenance of the property needs to be improved. My group had 3 rooms, 2 smelled terribly like mold, one flooded in the middle of the stay. There were many, many small things that should have been fixed.

The location was incredible, especially if you are there for a full-moon party.

It was like staying inside a night club

Not really there fault I guess but a club down the road was applying doof doof music all night, extremely loud. I was on the side of the cloud so I ended up asking to me moved at midnight they did accommodate this but even so it was terrible hard to sleep with the music barring all night.

Nice location on the nice beach but unfortunately the beach view from the pool is blocked because the hotel has decided to store shop counters for bucket drink sales so the view is blocked. The beach is venue for party every night so it makes the hotel grounds very nosy, so don't count on undisturbed sleep if you go to bed early.

Nice rooms but no steady hot water supply (either too hot or cold) so showering not really pleasant. Also it seems that you have to ask directly for room cleaning as it doesn't happen even if you put your \"please make up room\" on the door.

Decent restaurant with friendly staff. I would say most of the hotel staff could however use a service training and better english language.
When asked the hotel is quick to fix but it would be nice if they just covered the things to start with.

Surely there must be some resorts within same price range but where the service is better.

Great hotel with awesome service and location

We stayed at sunrise resort for 5 nights and had a great time here.
We booked a deluxe room, which was very spacious and clean. We had pool view and could also see the beach from our balcony. Everything was great. The only thing that bothered us a little bit, was that the tap water in the bathroom smelled like metal.

The hotel pool is nice with direct access to the bar,so you can enjoy a cocktail while in the water.

The staff was so nice and friendly. The food in the resort was good but the best part of the menu was the coconut shake!

Haad Rin beach is beautiful and you are there within one step out of the hotel. The sand is smooth and the water crystal clear. All the shops and restaurants are nearby and reachable within minutes.

We weren't here during full moon so it was a little less crowded and we loved that.

However, it is very tourist oriented, especially with young backpackers. So if you want to experience Thailand with locals and great food you should visit thongsala and the Saturday night market.

Also the nightlife is directly next to the hotel so you can hear the action distantly throughout the night.

All in all, the hotel is great and location as well. Everything you need for a great stay at Haad Rin.

Not a good Hotel!

Even if only in this hotel for the Full Moon Party, the standard is not acceptable by today's standards. Badly out of date, worn, grotty. The game has moved on substantially and this hotel, along with Haad Rin as a town has fallen badly behind. It's like no one cares in the hotel or the town as a whole. Bad rooms, bad service, bad food. Bitten by bed bugs and got food poisoning while only there 2 days. After a full month in other parts of Thailand nothing like this happened to me elsewhere. Couldn't wait to leave, will not return. If you only care about Full Moon partying then it's a great location but nothing else to recommend it

Great location right on the reach with a lovely pool and chairs to dry out on. !!! Very close to restaurants in the town !!! Due to sleeping in we didn't get new towels or room changed but that cause we woke up late!! Very nice the staff had show in full moon with free buffet and cocktails for hotel guests and a fire show!!! Very handy for full moon as you have ur own toilet that u can go to and can leave key in the 24 hr reception

I almost never write a bad review but this stay was awful. I would have been better off sleeping on the beach.

I reserved and payed the additional amount one of the \"nicer\" rooms close the pool and beach. Instead they put me in a much cheaper room that was further away and in kinda run down condition. The safe didn't work and there were just problems after problems. The manager offered me a free drink and breakfast which would have come to about $20. Sweet but no thanks. On top of everything they kept my $100 deposit.

Do not stay here. Bad bad bad.

The hotel is very nice and the location is probably the best in chaweng
200 baht a day mopeds out front were awesome
Not cheap by Thailand standards bit worth it
Wouldn't stay anywhere else in koh samui
After a week it felt like home
No room service and limited reception hours - closes at 11 only drawbacks but food options / restaurants around here are amazing

I stayed at Rich resort for a few nights during my backpacking trip through southeast asia. The rooms are average hotel rooms with decent air-con and fridge. I wouldn't call this a resort by any means. There is plenty of places to eat and some bars in the area, along with a night market nearby where you can get some cheap food at night. Beaches were decent, chairs were free. If you are looking for nightlife you would be better staying in Chaweng, but if you are looking for a cheaper place to chill out then this place would be ok. Also, the walls into the hallways are thin and you can hear everything, so avoid being in a room near stairs or you may have problems trying to sleep at night,

Seeing is not believing

The pictures for this hotel are beautiful, and my boyfriend and I were excited to stay here. The price was reasonable but a little more expensive than others on the island, which we were fine with as it looked like a nice place and a good location. When we arrived, the hotel building was dingy and dirty - the reception looked decades old and the staff were rude and told us to sit down and wait. The pool area was nice but playing very loud and obnoxious music. Instead of being taken to a room inside the main hotel, we were taken across the road to a very old looking building that overlooked a primary school (loud!) on one side and a main street on the other (even louder!). The room did not resemble the pictures, the air conditioner did not work properly, it was hot and dirty and the shower was a plastic hose that was broken. We left, without getting our money back (because we had paid in full online and their policy says no refunds), and went to stay somewhere else that was both cheaper and nicer. Don't be fooled by this one!

We booked 3 rooms and when we showed up they claimed we had only booked 2 when we had clear confirmation for 3. When then had one of our rooms have no air conditioning the whole time, even after numerous requests to have it fixed. The staff are very unfriendly and the pool was very dirty but it was full moon.

The sink was clogged, the room had the wrong remote for the AC, the safe was broken, and there was no remote for the TV. I was only staying one night so I didn't have to ride the boat back to Samui drunk, so if it wasn't for the full moon party I would never stay here.

Bodde i en utav beach villorna mitt på stranden.
Skulle stannat i 7 nätter men checkade ut efter 4.
Fördelar:
Du bor mitt på stranden och kan med några steg går ut i havet för ett morgondopp. Väldigt trevlig personal på restaurangen och god mat.

Nackdelar:
Du bor mitt på stranden vilket gör att andra turister kommer och sätter sig på din veranda och grupperingar samlas 2m utanför dörren, så ingen privacy .
Ingen säkerhet från hotellets sida, fick våra handdukar stulna andra natten.
Rummet är väldigt slitet och hade behövt renovering.
