B bou hotel-la Viñuela & Spa - best in class

A beautiful hotel in a stunning location. The service from staff has been exemplary, with particular regard for David (in the restaurant) and Sequoia (uncertain spelling, on reception). They, and others have been great advisers to first-time visitors. Other staff were excellent in minor interactions. Our only complaint would be about the delay with check-in procedures, but that was soon dismissed by us. We will be back... Even fellow clients are worthy of mention, particularly Dermot and Patricia from Leinster, Ireland

Stayed here 20 years ago but the hotel is so much better now. Fantastic pool and sunbathing area with quality beds, shades and views.

Food was also excellent and can highly recommend a Junior Suite with a fantastic bed, bathroom, lounge and balcony.

The location is out of town, but centred nicely for the main tourist attractions and only 20 mins from the lovely beach front at Torre Del Mar.

Not sure what more I can say but if you are looking for a relaxing quality hotel in a beautiful quiet setting, I can’t see you finding one better in Andalusia.

The hotel is in a stunning location and provided an excellent base to explore the area around Vinuela. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, providing us with details of a local company who run mountain bike rides round the lake. The hotel itself was nice. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable but with limited sound insulation between the rooms, it wasn’t a quiet and relaxing space. Ear plugs were a must for getting to sleep before 1am. Breakfast was nice, with lots of choice. We ate at the hotel a couple of evenings too. The food was nice and reasonably priced but the restaurant and service was a bit chaotic. We found the food and atmosphere at a local restaurant near the hotel to be better.

Superb staff, location and food. The staff team couldn’t do enough for us. Brilliant views and dining options. This is a small hotel that gives a lot considering it size. The pool is fabulous and although I heated was perfect for a few laps. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay superb.

Our Favourite Hotel in Spain

It was so good to be back! We received our usual warm welcome from all the staff and, as usual, we feel we are part of the family. Everything was pristine, service first class and we were extremely comfortable. Special mention to Sylvia who has breakfast running like clockwork and Adil, who has become our newest addition to the family - we think he is fantastic! Looking forward to seeing everyone next year.

A bit disappointing. The first room we were allocated smelled strongly of eggs/sulphur. The room was changed without a fuss. Both rooms were smaller than expected.
I made a booking online for a pedicure which was confirmed by email. When i got there they told me this wasn't a service they offered. I booked a massage for the following day. The spa was locked when i got there. No one turned up. Reception, where i made the booking said they did not have a booking.
The bar and restaurant are were very pleasant but the staff were inattentive and it was almost impossible to get their attention to order a drink. We weren't supposed to go up to the bar but had to to place an order
I would say the hotel is pretty nice but overpriced for what is on offer.

Worth a visit but beware!!!

First visit here and probably my last as didn't really know what to expect.
It is very isolated but by the same token in a lovely position.
We asked for lake view and got a ground floor room with hardly any view at all. We did get moved but then over the restaurant which was noisy.
If you go here you must visit Los Romanes BBQ restaurant the opposite side of the lake which is fantastic and have the BBQ steak. It is to die for.
The breakfast was rubbish. The tea machine dealt luke warm water, the cooked breakfast was cold and to top it all you had to contend with birds trying to steal your food!!!!

Nice Rural 4* Hotel & Spa on lake Viñuela.
Well sign posted directions and good complimentary covered parking .
Some rooms better than others with reference to size and views .Maybe book later as I book three weeks in advance if booked later rate dropped and would of got the comfortable room bright and airy and not the cupboard tiny room 205/ above the outdoor dining area with no working dirty A/C.
Once I resolved the initial problems with reception señorita Vanesa eventually allocated room 220 first informing me an extra 40 euro per night to which I delclined.As I had already paid £215 for my two night stay.

Once my issues were resolved my wife and I had a great stay this is a smart contemporary and yet traditional looking hotel with good walks around Viñuela lake and great pool which was open but no cushions , I had a nice fresh swim .

Breakfast was excellente and service perfecto thank you Sylvia, also Evening Dining was very good .
Housekeeping exceptional ....

A well organised and efficient run hotel ,predominantly Spanish clientel catered for with respect room allocation only in my opinion.

The Hotel La Vinuela was a beautiful place

There was a group of us that stayed there all the room where different & had great views.
The restaurant food and wine was amazing & great value.
The staff are very friendly & very helpfuland all speak great english too.

The only caveat I have is that the hotel is also used as a wedding venue and September is the most popular month for weddings. Generally, they do very well at keeping weddings separate from hotel guests but this isn't always possible. It may be worth ringing them to find out if they have a number of weddings during your stay.

This is an excellent spa hotel and pure luxury. It is a little out of the way, down two B roads but well worth the effort. It is in a peaceful setting and somewhere to get away from everything and everyone if you want. The staff are excellent and speak English, though they did appreciate my pigeon Spanish, with little smiles and the occasional giggle :-)

Great views, great service, lovely hotel

A beautiful boutique hotel set in wonderful surroundings. Have used this hotel many times to have dinner and the service is always exceptional, as is the quality and presentation of the food. Have stayed a couple of times now and always made to feel welcome and being recognised by staff is a lovely feeling. We stayed in room 212 overlooking the pool (although a little in the corner - still a lovely room) and have also stayed in 215 (directly overlooking the pool), both have terraces with 2 chairs and a table. Looked newly decorated and light and spacious - it appears that the hotel is currently going through some cosmetic renovations of painting and decorating in the restaurant and lobby areas and also some of the Comfort rooms - it was not noticeable at all and didn't affect our stay in any way. Breakfast is service buffet style with the option to order eggs how you like them - very good value and great choices of cereal, hams, cheese, salmon, breads, toast, preserves,pastries and fresh fruit. Tea coffee and also the option for bubbly Cava!
Very much enjoy staying at this hotel and would recommend.

Amazing vistas, good for a tranquil, relaxing vacation. The restaurant is of superior quality, and not overpriced. Things to improve: the toiletries, I was glad to have brought my own soap bar in my case. The lighting in the room, the lamps are very weak, one strains the eyes to read at night. But I would gladly come back to this hotel

We had a very nice overnight stay here. The hotel is nicely placed overlooking the lake. Nothing much round it but the hotel grounds are lovely and beautifully kept. It seems to host a lot of weddings, there was one whilst we were there and another beginning on checking out the next day. It was quite noisy at first but we were happily given another room. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Our dinner, taken on the terrace that evening was very good. The waiters were very helpful and made good wine suggestions. The whole ambience was lovely. Our room on the top floor overlooked the lake. It was very clean with good bed and bedding. Very well equipped bathroom. We wished we could have stayed longer and would have no hesitation in returning.

Nice quiet hotel off the main routes about an hour by car from Malaga. Set in the mountains North East of Malaga, near small village of La Vinuela. Lovely private pool and lovely grounds. Nice enough restaurant - but perhaps the menu is a little bit pretentious. Lamb Burger with Foie Gras? Also the traditional design of the hotel with a lack of soft furnishing can make it unusually noisy at night. Overall a lovely hotel. The Acid Test - would I go back? Yes, of course.

A wonderful small hotel with big hotel service.

Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and informed that had we been given an up grade, so that was a good start to our stay.
We booked the restaurant for dinner later that evening and went to relax by the pool.
The pool area was well kept and had plenty of beds.
The restaurant was outside under an awning, the service and menu was excellent, and all the staff had a good command of English, which in this part of Spain is sometimes hard to find.
Breakfast was amazing with a wide variety of delicious foods and even made your eggs to order.
It was our wedding anniversary and Sam at reception made it all the more special, we were greeted with flowers on the bed and bottle of sparkling wine, all of which was totally unexpected. Well done Sam.

Lovely place to get away from it all

Check-in was quick and easy and reception staff were friendly. I had booked one single room and one double room, with a request for a double bed. Both rooms had single beds but we could not be bothered to ask reception to change rooms. Rooms were of a good size and nicely decorated. Our terrace had a nice view of the gardens and a sliver of the lake. Gardens and pool area were well maintained. We had room service and they forgot part of our order which turned out OK as we had over-ordered anyway. Food was OK standard. Beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet at night. Breakfast buffet had a good selection and the hot food items which you ordered were good. We used the spa facility which was very nice but it is not made clear there is an additional cost and it is private for couple's use only so be aware you need to book a time slot and you will be charged. I would recommend this hotel to people who want to be in the country and get away from it all to recharge their batteries.

Overall the hotel was really nice, but it was let down in a couple of areas. The room needed a little more attention to cleanliness, especially the minibar. We had requested a lake view, which unfortunately was almost non existent and our room was rather noisy. However, on the positive side we found the food and service in the restaurant was of a very high standard and the prices were surprisingly very reasonable. Also the massage was an absolute joy and highly recommended. In general, there were more positives than negatives.

Does not warrant it's 4 star rating!

The hotel was OK but it doesn't warrant it's 4 star rating. Toilet paper and soap not replaced unless asked for or it was down to 1 sheet! In one of the rooms the furniture was wobbly and door knobs fell off when you tried to open anything. The hand towels were hanging right next to the toilets. Very unhygienic. The TV was very small and the control was rubbish and you had to keep going up and down forever to get to a channel, and then there was only one music channel and one news channel in English, when considering you're in the middle of nowhere, they should have had excellent TV. The food was not as excellent as some people have suggested. Maybe they have a new chef! The cooked breakfast was awful. Wet soggy poached eggs with a strong vinegar taste. The bacon and German sausage was cheap and disgusting. Stick to the buffet breakfast...much better! A couple of the young girls working there were friendly and polite, but most of them were miserable and unfriendly. It was quite a soulless place and will not return! In the middle of nowhere so you need a car otherwise you will die of boredom!

Lovely hotel in great location

Excellent room with a lovely view of the lake. Beautiful surrounding scenery. Great local cafe in La Vinuela. Ours was only a short break, but we'll definitely think of going again for longer.

Great Location but poor room

Location was excellent. There was a jazz night on in the restaurant on the night we stayed which was good.Traditional room was poor quality and shabby. In the bathroom the shower was so poor it flooded the bathroom due to being fixed higher than the shower curtain. Overall disappointed.

Escape the Costa's

The hotel is very nice and is a great escape from the busy and touristic costas. The hotel is nicely located next to Lake Vinuela, with a great garden and pool area. The rooms and amenities are clean and very well maintained. When driving through the smaller villages as Vinuela, Los Romanos and Trapiche, you wonder off in the typical Spanish way of life. Recommended to have a car to explore the area.

impossible to find the way to the hotel

It was impossible to find the hotel. we rent a car and had a long trip that day. And we would like to stay at the middle of our jorney ans it was impossible. GPS don't know this place. Spain people don't know even the Vinuela so we go further and didn't stay there.

Hotel La Vinuela - Stunning Location

Recently arrived back from Hotel La Vinuela, lovely hotel, staff very friendly and go out of their way to be helpful.

Our room overlooked the lake which is beautiful and the whole area is very peaceful.

My only adverse comments are that the beds around the swimming pool were not comfortable, they need cushions, also you need a car to get anywhere as it is quite out of the way.

Would definitely stay there again.

La Vinuela Hotel, Vinuela, Malaga is a beautiful h

This is one beautiful hotel in a superb setting, overlooking Lake Vinuela.As soon as you approach the hotel and into reception you know this is going to be good. From when I first stayed at this hotel in 2002, it has undergone a makeover and added a new wing offering more rooms. Set very close to the Lake Vinuela, hotel has wonderful views and superb gardens and pool. The rooms are extremely comfortable and very pleasant. Extremely pleasant sitting on your balcony taking in view. Breakfast offers an excellent choice and staff throughout hotel are very friendly and efficient. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Hotel La Vinuela. Wonderful spot. M. O'Doherty Feb. 2011
