Room as advertised small balcony with high quality sliding door and rolling shutters looking at the beach. Furniture was well-chosen and useful for rolling suitcases. Safe, TV, wifi, elevator,quiet. Breakfast nice fresh bun for bocadillo. Fresh-squeezed OJ, proper espresso machine. No parking. If arriving by car you will have to hunt for a spot in the abundant free city lots that at the wrong time can be very crowded.

Torre del Mar.

The hotel has a great location. The room we booked was in the basement. We upgraded as it was frankly dreadful. However the front of hotel room which cost us another 200 euros was a great deal better for our 10 day stay. It was a bit pokey and the bed was small and uncomfortable. Location wise it is good for the beach and shops etc, but get the right room!

The hotel is rather typical of 2-3* places to stay, small room, relatively hard bed, and a bit noisy. The check-in went smoothly and the hotel was clean. The location is excellent if you want to be on the Playa Torre del Mar within walking distance of beach-side restaurants and cafes. The accommodations are priced about right for the quality.

I only really required a room for sleeping as I was spending the day with friends. The room selected was very small but adequate for my needs. It was clean with good aircon.
The resort is largely for Spanish customers so there was a language issue but it did not impact my stay. The location was great being just yards from the beach.

The room we were given on arrival was in the basement next to the laundry
Was dark and tiled walls to mask the damp when we complained we were given a different room but had to pay extra... despite the hotel being far from full

Great little hotle

Just a quick day and night while getting our car worked on. Staff, room and location are great for the price. Had suggested they get the private hot tub on the rooms terrace operating in the winter as it would have been wonderful to enjoy the sea and the rain from the heated jacuzzi which is under cover from the rain. We'd have been happy to pay a surcharge to use it as I am sure the electric charge is high to keep it heated.

visiting friends and relatives in the area, hotel was a good base clean and cheerful at a good price. And sea views as well. breakfast is simple continental style but second day no cereal was available they had run out and had not replenished stocks.
no restaurant facilities at hotel but a very good choice near by and the ones we tried were excellent food.

Nice hotel.

Nice hotel, conveniently situated, right on the beach surrounded by good restaurants and cafes, all reasonably priced. Also easy to find and handy for travelling along the coast. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Not much choice for breakfast if you take the inclusive package but if you want to purchase something else it's very reasonable. All over a good place to stay.

The hotel location is superb. On the sea front! The staff were exceptionally helpful. Very pleasant. The room was very clean, serviced each day of my stay. The amenities were really good. Torre del Mar is a superb location for exploring the surrounding area!

Cyclists on tour should AVOID. We stayed in 9 hotels during our tour across Andalucia; nearly all small and locally owned. 8 out of 9 hotels were happy for us to keep our lightweight road bikes in our room, or to store them in a baggage room or garage. Upon our arrival at Hotel Miraya, the desk clerk informed us that we could not bring our bikes into the hotel at all, and also that we could not cancel our reservation without eating the entire cost of the room. He claimed it was because the rooms were \"too small\" to accommodate our bikes, but actually this was one of the largest rooms we stayed in, with ample room. His attitude was surprisingly haughty and rigid, and he made little attempt to be helpful. This put us in a very difficult position, as we were in a town where we knew nobody but had to scramble to find a secure place to keep our bikes for the night. Fortunately, others in Torre del Mar were kinder than Hotel Miraya and we found someone who stored them overnight for free, but this was just luck. If you are traveling by bike, spare yourself the trouble and stay elsewhere. Even if you are not, I would not recommend this hotel - overall its attitude seems to be to protect itself from its guests rather than to protect or accommodate them (e.g., the keying system for the room doors is a bit of a firetrap and could leave you groping in the dark for a key to let yourself out in case of emergency).

Had a lovely stay in the Hotel Miraya. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice location with off street (free)parking. Nice and clean hotel with all the things you need. Good location in town and beach is just steps away and Calle Larios and Calle del mar are 2 blocks away.

Good short stay in wonderful Torre Del Mar.

Short stay to be near the good beach and numerous restaurants & bars without a car. Lovely atmosphere in Torre Del Mar. Families out walking along the promenade in evening and walkers & joggers using the track on the beach. Found our room a bit noisy as on front of hotel & close to pavement but other rooms might have been quieter.

We loved our three day break here. The hotel was immaculate and all the staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We loved the area ! Great restaurants in the vicinity. We will certainly be back ! :)

Good hotel right on the beach front

For a low star hotel we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the rooms and the service given. We used this hotel in January while travelling the south of Spain house hunting, and had previously stayed at a 4 star Golf Club Hotel.
OK the rooms were much bigger at the Golf Club but we had no heating the first night and no hot water the next, and the staff were not interested.
At the Miraya they couldn't do enough for you. There was a road at the front but only had light traffic, and I would know because being a light sleeper was not disturbed at all.
I have already recommended the Miraya to my friends.

A clean & tidy budget Hotel, with extra features.

I spent a couple of days at Hotel Miraya, whilst carrying out some research. The location on the beachfront gives the front rooms wonderful sea views. With free Wi-Fi, Air Conditioning / Calefaccion, flat-screen TV, Room Safe, Telephone and Fridge you might expect to pay a high price, but at less than £30 a day for Bed & (Continental) Breakfast, I doubt that there could be better value.

OK, so I had a single room at the back of the Hotel, but with the Mediterranean at the front door, who would want to be in their room longer than necessary ??

The Staff were welcoming and friendly, despite the lack of a common language between us. They didn't even mock my atrocious attempts at speaking Spanish !!

Breakfast was basic, no full English here, but enough to keep me going until lunch.

Overall, my stay was a very pleasant one.

Third stay, still as good

We normally have only a one or two night stay here to break up our journey home but have enjoyed the place so much we decided to make a short holiday of it this time. We still rate the hotel highly - spotlessly clean, excellent shower, good toiletries, security safe in room, just a few steps from the sandy beach and numerous bars/restaurants. A car is not a necessity but we did hire one, there is free parking directly outside the hotel. Malaga airport is only a 30 minute drive and taxis are plentiful, there is also a public bus service from the airport to Torre del Mar.

We will definitely return and meanwhile will recommend to all.

Rubish hotel

I stayed in this hotel one night . The aircondition didnt work and the receptionist who didnt speak English at all couldnt fix it. I couldnt sleep till 7 am morning as my room was colkd .
In the morning when English speaker stuff came ,blamed me for the situation of aircondition and told I have played with remote control more than usual. He didnt accept that my booking was included breakfast and he was so rude to me.
I dont know why this rubish hotel has advantage of showing its sign in many parts of the town next to the streets sign.

A REAL GEM

The hotel is well placed, on the seafront and only a short walk from many shops and restaurants. We booked at short notice for an overnight stay but the room was ready on time, small but comfortable and very clean with everything we could need. Superb power shower and quality toiletries. Highly recommended and we hope to return for a longer stay. There is no full restaurant but a small café attached which we did not need to use so cannot comment.

Bad Experience

The rooms were cold. The single room was a bed width wide. Hot water was poor. There were works outside on the sea front with drilling and noise and they were also doing the same within the hotel all through the day with no apology. The staff were not very helpful when we asked about heating. They advertise sattellite TV but it is Spanish sattellite so no good for Brits and on a cold evening TV is welcome. The maids started at 8 am Spanish time (one hour ahead) if you like a peaceful lie-in don't bother! People came in and out at all times with loud voices and the lift noise. We were offered as part of the \"double\" package as my friend also booked a double room - a full English breakfast - this consists of coffee, small juice and a roll - share the marmalade and jam!
I would never go back there again......................

Alt i alt fin service, men vanskelig indtjekning, da ingen i receptionen kunne engelsk. Hotellet var fint tilbage i 00'erne. Nu bærer det præg af at der ikke er gjort noget ved det i de mellemliggende år. Tæpperne er forvaskede og håndklæderne stive og der mangler stikkontakter på værelserne. Værelserne er små og den ekstra opredning er der faktisk ikke plads til. Morgenmad kan tilkøbes, men det vil være ligeså fint, at gå ud i byen og finde en morgenmadscafé. Udsigten er god og de laver en fremragende appelsinjuice. Resten er ikke noget at skrive hjem om.
