I’ve stayed at this hotel several times, and at this point, it truly feels like a second home. This trip was to celebrate my birthday, and the hotel surprised me with a thoughtful gesture — they sent a small cake to my room along with a birthday card. I honestly wasn’t expecting it, and it meant so much. It was such a beautiful and genuine touch.
The staff consistently makes me feel welcome, and that’s one of the main reasons I keep coming back. I wouldn’t choose to stay anywhere else.
The only downside during this stay was that the breakfast host was not very friendly, which was a bit disappointing. However, overall, my experience continues to be wonderful.

This is probably one of the best hotels in Cartegena. The staff is always friendly, rooms are clean. The only issue we had in this stay was noise from the neighbors. They were up until 3or 4 in the morning blasting music and revving their motorcycles.

Breakfast was terrible. Everything was so overpriced. All the restaurants were closed. I ate at the same place for all meals. No options. Bar was a joke. Room was just a bed, barely had us towels and re filled the toilet paper I had to always ask for paper. Tv did not work.

We booked a suite. The air-conditions smelled. The view was very good. It was very noisy from 5 am to 11 pm because of the aircraft. The strip of the airport was very near so you could not talk each other when a plane startet.
The stuff was friendly but most of them don´t speak english.
There were Palm Trees at the beach directly at the Hotel but you couldn´t use the shade of the trees because there were no sun beds, just at the pool. The Hotel have had two Bech bars but they were at no time open. Just the bars at the Lobbys inside, two poolbars (very noisy) and one on the roof top (also very noisy). We booked this Hotel because of the direct access to the beach but we were frustrated because the Hotel gave us no chance to enjoy it.

Some construction. Also, I choose a room with sea front view, and I was assigned a room with view to a building seeing the expressway and a big building. The hotel didn't want to change the room and give the one with front sea view, so I had to pay extra for that. Very disappointed because I am 100% I choose room with view to the sea.

The customer service was very poor. It took an extremely long time just to get a waitress, and once our food was served, waiting for something as simple as ketchup or salt took another 15 minutes. It seemed like the waitstaff only prioritized guests they already knew or those they thought would tip well. Strangely, once we did tip, they began seeking us out the following day—but at checkout, we noticed we had been charged extra tips on top of the ones already included. Essentially, you end up double-tipping if you want any decent service.
The facilities were also in bad condition. The swimming pools were terribly maintained, with crumbling edges that were unsafe for children. The installations throughout the property feel old, outdated, and neglected, with no visible updates.
What made the experience even worse was when we invited guests from the USA to join us. Sadly, we encountered a very embarrassing situation with bedbugs, which caused allergic reactions. This was unacceptable and incredibly disappointing for a hotel of this reputation.
Overall, our stay was far below expectations, especially as returning guests. Sadly, we cannot recommend this hotel anymore unless serious improvements are made in both service and maintenance.

It is without a doubt the best hotel restore for the price Hyatt Regency is absolutely superb but the cost overall is significantly higher. Try Las Americas. It won't disappoint you.

Everything was amazing at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and always ready to help. The breakfast food was buffet styled Colombian cuisine, which changed little everyday but was very delicious. The kids always had something to do, and the kids club was something they continuously requested to go back to. At the top of the building there’s a fantastic adults only pool and, a gourmet restaurant with a very ample and delectable menu. The hotel did not have its own transportation, so uber or taxis were sometimes required. However, they do have a contract with a transportation service whom offered spacious vehicles and were very polite. The sea view was beautiful and the beach was normally not so crowded or filled with street vendors as compared to beaches closer to the center of the city. On the other hand, there was the occasional vehicle or motorcycle that kind of used the beach sand as a backstreet. Lastly the hotel is situated somewhat close to the airport, which is both a pro and a con. The drive from and to the airport was smooth and easy but, hearing planes taking off was very common. Overall I would definitely book my stay here again!

Hotel is on a big beach close to the airport. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Our balcony had a nice sea view. We did have some issues with our air conditioner and had to change rooms one evening. Hotel staff helped us move. The breakfast buffet was good. We liked the 10th floor pool and bar (no kids). Great place to watch the planes depart. Also, get a drink with pineapple juice (best pineapple juice ever). We ate at Erre one evening (on 10th floor). The service and food was great but it was the most expensive meal of the trip. We used the activities coordinator in the lobby to book a sunset cruise, which was nice. The one thing that I could say that I didn't like at the property is that there was not a bar that people socialized at night after dinner. It would be nice to have one open until midnight- or even 11pm.

This is an excellent hotel connected to their other hotel so you can use both hotel’s pools, restaurants bars and beaches. The other hotel has a teen zone with basket ball arcade style, PlayStation and other games for kids and teens.
There is also a large water slide, a 18 and older party zone at night, 3 restaurants and 3 pools with 3 Jacuzzis. The food was amazing and the service was excellent.

Hotel staff was nice and efficient. Breakfast buffet yummy. Beds comfortable. Balcony had only 2 straight back chairs and a table. This is more like a convention hotel vibe than a Caribbean vibe. Would NOT recommend 5 Rosario Island Tour through the hotel’s “Best Experiences” sub-contractor - expensive and miserable.

Overall I am glad my family and I (including children) stay at this location. Had quite a few pools and away from the crowds in city center. The facility could use some renovations but overall it was a great stay and felt safe with my kids. The food was incredible at almost every restaurant. Really loved our stay. The property is on a beautiful beach, breakfast was great and even the dinner food was good, staff were friendly too! However, just a beware, when we were checking out, we noticed a huge discrepancy in our tab when the desk presented it to us for payment. When asking the staff, they said we took out three cash advances totalling over $520,000 COP and showed me signature copies when I asked for it. It clearly did not resemble my signature in the slightest and we never needed any cash, we actually had sufficient cash. I have never in all our travel experiences heard of a hotel giving cash advances with no secured visa or bank card and there are two ATM machines right there in the lobby. We were in a rush to get to the airport for our flight and they didn’t rush to correct these fraudulent transactions which made it very stressful on two seniors. Also there was mini bar charges which we never incurred. In the end, the hotel did reverse all wrongful charges. It is a nice hotel but please beware of your tab at all times during your stay.

The room is absolutely beautiful, junior suite, the staff needs a lot of work. Plus everything inside of the hotel is extremely expensive for the quality of food they offer. Breakfast was the best part, but do not recommend lunch buffet. Our first day room service did not get to our room until almost 5 pm and didn't even clean the whole place. They were walking in without even knocking which one time they entered and I was laying down with my partner. The pool, bar and gym were all beautiful. The view is amazing. Its a mix emotion. Everyone is kind.

very terrible experience my wife is actually Dominican, but it seemed that the staff thought my wife was African-American and they treated her very poorly in the beginning when we signed up at the front desk they said we had free breakfast and then come to find out when we went to go get the free breakfast they said no we’re not on the list and they were very rude about it which makes no sense because I was there with my wife and the guy when we first came to the hotel so we had the free breakfast cause we are the VIP but they didn’t care also when we were at the pools or at any dining area the staff will not come to the table for my wife at all, but when I came around, they came also one time when my wife went to the counter for the Front Lobby that person stop taken care of my wife to help a white latina

Hotel las Americas is a very nice hotel, lots of pools to chose from. Proximity to the airport makes this a great place to stay. Some of the rooms are a bit outdated, we had to call to have the water pressure and hot water adjusted twice and they responded right away. Otherwise, we truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again.
