Great location, right across from the water. Along the water with lots of restaurant options. We came to la ciotat to visit the beautiful calanques which are just a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Perfect location, just what we needed. Great breakfast also! Comfortable beds, big rooms

Very noisy location in August
In many ways a fantastic location, good sized rooms looking out over the harbour, nice balconies. But the hotel should warn you before booking to stay in July and August that there is a market every night and the noise from that and the adjacent bars and restaurants is very loud and continues until 1am or 2am. I have never had such a disrupted night at any hotel. If I’d known, we would not have booked to stay here as we went on holiday for a rest. I asked at the desk for some ear plugs but they don’t provide them (not that they would have made much difference to the very loud live band playing until the early hours on Friday night). In other less touristy months this would be a fine place to stay in La Ciotat but it is not exceptional or even standout in my experience.

Rooms are not soundproof, slamming doors in the corridor, neighbours above were easily heard, screaming kids/motorcycles outside. I left tired and in desperate need of a good night's sleep!

Nous avions une chambre au 1er étage qui donnait sur le port et nous avons très très mal dormi du fait des nuisances sonores émanants de la rue (bars, installation du marché à 6h, ramassage des poubelles…).
En synthèse si vous avez le sommeil léger fuyez les chambres côté port.

The hotel is cooled to the same temperature, and thermostat in room is only used to control the fan speed (low, medium, high, auto). If air conditioning is \"not working\", it was likely shut off at the front desk and you have to ask to have it turned on. Not difficult but something you need to know to do.
Housekeeping can be inconsistent, but bed always made, trash emptied and towels replaced if needed. Robes may or may not be provided, and consumables may not be replenished. Requests met though if you ask at front desk.
The establishment stays quite busy, and most staff are very friendly and pleasant.

We took a junior suite which has a balcony and is in the shade in the afternoon.
Worth the extra cost for us as we were able to relax in the evenings on the balcony.
The rooms on the other side of the hotel with the city view would have the sum all afternoon.

The location is great. The parking situation is very challenging. The underground parking spaces are VERY small and can cause serious damage to the car in terms of scratches.

Best place to stay in La Ciotat
We loved this hotel. It’s in the perfect spot overlooking the harbour. Staff are all polite and helpful. The pool was amazing. Everything was clean and tidy. It was a comfortable enjoyable stay. We originally booked 5 nights but loved it so much we added another two nights. The hotel is in the middle of many eating places and within easy walk of a well stocked food store and a sandy beach.

Absolutely fabulous! Superb location, wonderful harbour views, gorgeous roof top pool. Choose a junior suite with harbour view if you can, it’s well worth the extra money. We stayed in room 308, gorgeous, spacious room with terrace and a great view. Lots of places to eat within walking distance, secure onsite parking with a cost but again worth the money. Wouldn’t hesitate to return….

We stumbled upon this town because our room in Cassis was AWFUL so we looked for ‘nearest port in the storm’ w/a last minute room! It was perfect! Hotel is on the harbor, La Ciotat was having an outdoor harbor concert so it was lively w/locals & tourists alike. All the outdoor cafes lining the harbor were bustling, w/a huge variety of cuisine available! Shops along the side streets, very walkable area. The concert started when we were going to bed so we used white noise app to drown out the sound and fell asleep with no problem.

great hotel... nice rooftop pool with jacuzzin and sauna & steam room and great view. Staff were all lovely and helpful. stayed for a week. breakfast was 15 euro each and unlimited hot food and cold meats breads pancakes fresh juices etc....

Local area is very nice, bakerys and small supermarkets all reasonably priced. Restaurant next door has a good 3 course set menu for 25 euro pp. Thats the best we found in the area.

Expedia told us we were walking distance from the docs for our Cruz. They lied after 140 eruo cab ride we discovered no were near marseille. While the hotel was nice, Expedia needs to give better customer service. I even spoke with their representative who assured me we were in walking distance. Shame on you Expedia

This is a hotel of contrasts. The good: Beautifully designed and appointed room with balcony. Double pane windows. Quality towels and bedding. Excellent view over the harbor. The bad: The concept of service is not existing in this hotel. Staff seems disorganised. No information provided about the hotel or the town upon check in. We had to request that A/C be turned on (it didnt work). No toiletteries in the room. Common areas pooldeck etc left without staff. No corkscrew in the hotel!!! The Ugly: The performance stage placed on plaza in front of room blasting music and lights in to the room until 2 am. Two nights in a row. We measured 78 db we windows and curtains closed. Absolutely horrible. No one informed us about this. We came to have a peaceful break.

We had a large room and balcony overlooking the sea. It was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfasts were a lovely choice of food. We loved the pool. The staff were very helpful. The views were amazing and La Ciotat is beautiful.

We were a group of two couples both paying the same and one got a sea view and one did not which was a bit strange. As it was only a one night stay by the time we queried this it was not worth changing.

Poor service. Couldn't find the lobby, staff didn't speak English even though it's a best western. Too crowded and asked for a room with view but got a balcony with the parking.

From what we could see, we think this hotel has the best location in La Ciotat. It is right on the waterside of the old port. Staff were always polite and went out of their way to help us particularly on our final day when we needed a taxi to the train station. None was available and so M. Pradier, the hotel manager, took us there himself in his car. Just one example of the helpfulness of the staff.
Roof top pool is impressive if a little soulless. The hotel doesn't appear to have a bar, and although there are plenty nearby it might be nice to be able to have a drink by the pool.

We travelled on Eurostar to Marseille and then by SNCF to La Ciotat. Note the train station is a long way from the port and not easily accessible so a bus might be a better option.

Great Harbor Town to have fun on a Sunday
Staff spoke great English, perfect location right on the waterfront. The town of La Ciote has a great harbor to walk around and catch the flavor of the French Riveria. Walk around and enjoy the boats and the great weather
I did not mind, but know that this harbor builds ships, and there are large cranes on one side of the harbor. If you stay on a Sunday, they have Markets at the harbor which makes for a great afternoon.

Great location, very friendly/helpful staff
Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Staff very friendly and gave great recommendations for restaurants in La Ciotat, and sightseeing tips. View room with balcony overlooking the port is worth the upgrade. The facilities are modern and very clean. Parking garage under hotel a little hard to find, but convenient. Large crane right out front that other reviewers mention should not deter anyone from staying here- this is definitely the nicest hotel in the area though it is in the working port end of town.

We opted for sea view room, which was perfect. Very modern and clean and newly refurbished. The staff on reception were very nice and helpful and a credit to the hotel. The only downside was the breakfast. Very disappointing for the money, small dinner plate with cheese and meat selection and small plate with one fruit on offer...this was for the entire hotel's guests. Only one member of staff on duty at breakfast too. Such a shame for such a lovely place.

Great staff, good value for your money, clean facility. Only negative is that the wireless did not work in the rooms well or at all - I had to work with my computer in the hallway or lobby.

Comfort in the hub of activity
Modern hotel, yet architecture is such that it blends in well with it's older surroundings. Friendly front desk reception. Good free wifi. Some amenities needed repair/maintenance for example safe did not work and air conditioning appeared faulty (room 302); although this was pointed out to staff, this was not rectified during our 2 day stay. Great central location, with lovely views. Would stay again.

Hotel was well-located for day trips on coastline from Cassis to Cannes. Modern, clean facilities - good-sized room - wonderful view to harbour - comfortable, quiet room. Staff members were helpful, friendly, and considerate. Nice breakfast room and decent selection of items. We had a lovely stay - wish I'd put aside time for relaxing at the rooftop lounge area!

Like everything about this hotel - and the town, La Ciotat. Not surprised the hotel is very popular. Everything in all public areas and bedrooms is immaculate. Our room was a fair size, with a balcony overlooking the yacht marina. On the roof is a swimming pool, jacuzzi and sun terrace. Always plenty of available loungers - all of which look brand new. The breakfast area is lovely with a HUGE selection of fresh food, juice and coffee. Reception staff go out of their way to be welcoming and helpful. Situation of the hotel is good too - shops, public transport, restaurants and bars easy to access.

Breakfast was always good, avoid restaurants along the port as the food is generally not very good...do \"judge the book by its cover\" in this regard.

Had an amazing 4day experience!
Visiting from Toronto-Paris -Cassis. This hotel was more than what we expected, it's better than it's pictures. People at the reception were so helpful and attentive. Location is very close to the shops and restaurants 5 min walk to the shore. 15 min walk to hiking in the Calanque. Room was very clean and bed was a comfortable king size. Nice design. Clean bathroom and fridge in the room..In the North American standard this is a 5*hotel. I had never stayed at Best western before and I highly recommend it

Everything was excellent except the parking. It was difficult to get into the lot and once in the signs pointing to where to park were not clear. And we paid a significant amount to park. The breakfast was very good and worth the money.

Sea/Harbor View room in the middle of everything
Fantastic place for the money. La Ciotat is a great, little harbor town and this hotel is a gem. It is walking distance to everything, ( but the train station, take the bus or a taxi! ). Hiking Les Calanques was a highlight, great beaches for swimming and sunbathing in those unique parks. There is a Sunday morning market right out the front door of the hotel and the restaurant choices around the hotel, as well as the stores for day to day shopping, are very good. I did see a few other hotels in town for a little less money, but the Best Western is by far the most comfortable and placed in the perfect spot.
