I’m going to give my honest opinion!

Everyone talked about how small the hotels in Tokyo are. However this particular hotel was exceptional. It is big compared to other hotels we stayed in Japan.

There is a lot of drawer to put our clothes and also a good sized closet.

The hotel provides almost everything to make our stay conducive.

From the entrance, lobby and to the room itself you’ll be amazed.

I loved the fact that it has 711 in the basement for a quick grab. And it is about seven minutes walk to shinagawa station.

And the breakfast buffet has both Japanese and western selections. There is so much to choose from.

And the staffs were so helpful.

I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Tokyo

Restaurant reserved for private groups which was very inconvenient. No concierge service. Room was old and had some sort of old, portable air purifier or A/C on the floor. Couldn’t tell what it was b/c it was in Japanese. The front desk people weren’t very helpful. Bellman and doorman were both very helpful. We got the club floor package which was worth it and very nice.

An upscale hotel around the area, they equipped with few fine dining options, even a 7-11 inside their building. Room is comfortable and staffs are professional and ready to assist. The only downside is the 8 -10 minutes walk to the hotel from the station. It is a gentle uphill which can be so tiring with the heavy luggages. They did not have the shuttle to the train station like the other hotels nearby, and this ended up to be a big negative for us with heavy luggages. Other than that, the hotel is great

Property was beautiful but in order to use the cafeteria area you had to order from them. No laundry room but there is a laundry service but in my opinion too expensive. Location was great. Be prepared to walk up a hill to get to the hotel from the train station. Has a 7-11 inside the hotel. And a faule of restaurants that I didn’t check out

Great overall stay—friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and good food.

However, the fitness center was a major disappointment. It’s not just about the limited equipment—having only two treadmills and two cycling machines—but one of the treadmills had a torn belt, which is a serious safety concern. This really needs immediate attention and improvement.

Aside from that, everything else was excellent.

This is NOT a five-star hotel. There are reviews that state the hotel is a bit outdated and needs a refresher. That is an understatement. Just absolutely misleading. It is a 3 1/2 star hotel at best. An it would be just fine for a 3 1/2 star, but this is absolutely a disappointment believing you are getting and paying for a five star hotel.

Very posh hotel. Huge. Offers great facilities but as we’re only staying a night was not able to use them.
Great size room with a balcony looking at a fully bloomed Sakura.
Location is very walkable to a major train hub Shinagawa. Can’t go wrong with this hotel. Great choice.
Leaving luggage if you’re too early or leaving late is not an issue. Just ask.

They will charge you extra for luggage storage for the day, for early check-in., late check-out.
These was no amenities available during our visit in mid March. No pool, no hot tob, no sauna.
After a long flight we arrived at the hotel at 9 AM and were exhausted. We asked for early check-in and was told it will be extra charge of $20/ hour and would have to wait untill 3 p.m. then after we signed up for their Hotel App , we could check-in at 1 PM.We were also told falsley that our room was not ready , but later learned that it was actually ready all along.

room walls had stains, carpet was damaged, wall vinyls coming off, dents in the walls, light switch had to be replaced due to it chipping. house keeping broke a charger, which could not be replaced due to plug type. bed had to be remade again after housekeeping due to stains on sheets.

The lobby is gorgeous, the staff are incredible and great communicators. The room itself is on the smaller side, decor and furniture appears to be older but extremely well maintained and very clean. Opening up the balcony door helped make things feel a bit more spacious for 3 people in a room this size.

Otherwise, easy access to Shinkansen from the hotel. Limo bus from Narita drops off right at the front of the hotel but I didn’t use the airport shuttle. Didn’t get to explore too much of the surrounding area except nearby 24/7 7-11 and food court/halls. The hotel 7-11 does close late at night.

I really liked the surrounding but I might choose something closer to a Yamanote line stop next time.

Staff at reception is the first contact point. Towards foreigner guest, the service is lacking due to language barrier as the understanding level is different. They tried to be patient towards listening to my needs and queries which I appreciate but the personal touch is not present compared to serving the Japanese guest. That is what I have observed. It is still a good service overall given the reputation of Japanese hospitality which is imprinted on internationally as one of the best.
Room is spacious as chosen. Attention to details by housekeeping needs more improvement. Overall , it is a good stay. Location to station and amenities is closeby. Shuttle bus service to different drop off points around the compound is much appreciated.

Beautiful room, lovely tub aswell. Staff wasn’t the most friendly, but it was a very busy check in so it makes sense. Such a beautiful garden in the back as well. Went to spa the sukura in a different tower and it met expectations for sure. Expensive, but great way to end the trip!!

Staff are friendly and helpful, 7-11 inside hotel is very convenient. Location is central, 5 minute walk to Shinagawa station, which connects to most major train lines. Note that it is a bit of a slope to walk between train and station, so maybe challenging with luggages, but they do offer free shuttle to Prince Hotel which is a short flat walk to the station.

Am not sure how this hotel got 5 stars to be honest! I

Cons:

- hotel lobby smell like salami 24/7
- eventhough every japanese we met through our trip was helpful and kind, this hotel managed to get the least japanese oriented staff on check in and check out counter, never smiling, not helpful, barely recognizing your presence like they are forced to do their work
- no one helped us getting our luggage into the hotel and up to our room
- we paid 25 usd during check out for amenities that we dont know hat they were and was too tired to argue about
- rooms are small
- asked to change one of the room from single to double but the only reason I got that they cant do that is the fact i booked through expedia
- empty refrigerator in the room

Pro:
- Clean room
- Seven Eleven within the hotel
- Tully shop within the hotel for a good morning coffee

The poor rating is based on the fact the hotel is listed as 5 stars. I would rate it higher if it was listed as 3 or 4 stars.

This hotel is a familiar sight on television, and even the attitude of the staff you pass by is one step above, making it a modern, first-class hotel that is admired by the Showa generation, both now and in the past. The garden is magnificent, the largest of its kind in Tokyo, and the tranquility and uniquely Japanese architecture and plants make it easy to spend an entire day just strolling around the hotel complex and the area around Shinagawa Station. Shinagawa Station is easily accessible via the JR Yamanote Line, Keihin-Tohoku Line, Sobu Line, Shinkansen, and Keikyu Line. The surrounding area is in the midst of development, with many shops opening in the shopping arcade. Only Narita Airport has a shuttle bus, so considering the ongoing construction work in front of the station, this is recommended for those with large luggage or children. Reservations are required.

Staff were amazing and accomodated our request for a quiet room. The Sliders Restaurant has the best breakfast buffet. There is a hotel guest discount, but you must apply for the Seibu Prince membership via QR code. No cost for the membership. Be prepared to walk up a gradual hill to get to the Shinagawa station. This was the trade off for a hotel away from the crowds.

The reception staff were also helpful and nice. There is a Tully's Coffee open from 7am (unusual in Japan). We were able to ship our snow gear to the hotel (for a fee). And we had a nice view of Tokyo skyline including Tokyo Tower

The condition of the room was fine. The staff were generally helpful and service was decent. The size of the room was smaller than expected considering there were two adults and two children. Did not realize this was a huge business / convention center type hotel so it had a lot of guests coming and going. It was nice to have an attached 7-11. The overall area seemed very quiet and subdued since it seems the area of Takanawa is mostly for business travelers and not so much for tourists.

This is one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had, and I rarely ever write reviews. The rooms are old the bathrooms smell of mildew, the common area including the gym is absolutely underpar, dirty, and unacceptable for what is supposed to be a five star hotel. This is not a foreign friendly hotel, incredibly deceiving in terms of presentation to reality.
