My husband and I stayed at Mitsui Garden Hotel Okayama for one night between two parts of our trip near the Seto Inland Sea. The hotel is conveniently located near the city’s JR station and within walking distance of urban landmarks like Okayama Castle. It was clean and comfortable, and the staff were excellent — they even brought our takkyubin luggage to our room so it was waiting upon our arrival. The breakfast buffet offered a mix of regional, Japanese, and Western dishes, and it was the best breakfast we had during our trip to Japan.

An excellent hotel which is a very short walk from the main train station. A 7/11 convenience store is even closer to the hotel. Also close to the hotel are entrances to the shopping underpass ichi ban gai which also allows easy access to shopping centres such as Aeon without having to cross streets. The hotel itself has a large reception area with very helpful staff many of whom speak English. Breakfast is in a large room with plenty of seating, and has a very good breakfast buffet. Outside breakfast hours that room is used for free coffee/a rest area etc. Laundry and public bath on (from memory) 10th floor - I didn’t use the public bath myself but I did overhear that as is normal in Japan it’s not available to those with large tattoos. My room was clean, modern and comfortable. My only issue was that I booked one of the smaller size rooms and the mini fridge was too small for me (e.g. I couldn’t fit normal 500 ml bottles in the door tray). I also thought the desk was too close to the bed, as when sitting in the chair the chair back was right up against the bed. Room was otherwise perfectly functional and spotless - more than happy to stay in this hotel again although next time I’ll book the next room size up !

The staff is mostly friendly. Only one man at reception was rude when I asked him for my checkout time. He told me that because I had made the reservation through this app, I wouldn't be able to receive any benefits, even though I have a hotel membership.

A good mid-range hotel for Japan travel. However, the influx of tour group tourists from certain nearby countries made it rather unpleasant in the hotel.
Breakfast is ‘average’ focusing on one-night tour groups.
Onsen is also average compared to Dormy Inn Hotels and others around the price point.
Room was great and clean! Much better than APA.
Service and counter staffs are courteous and friendly, ready to help.
I think it is time to rethink how Mitsui Hotels should position itself to make the environment in the hotel more pleasant and Japanese feel….again.

Nice place to stay close to the train station and the aeon mall
The first. room we got was very tiny less it shows on hotel.com. We ask to change the room. At the beginning were asked to pay extra and move to smoking room. We didn’t like the solution and thought to cancel our reservation. Finally the hotel management find a solution and upgrade the room to tein room non smoking. It was much better and make our stay more pleasnt and comfortable

The entire hotel felt very dated and could do with a refurb. Our room had a funky smell (not sure if it was a smoking room once upon a time?) There was no air con and the bed felt small. But everything was fully functioning and clean, and the tea/coffee and biscuits etc were a bonus. Overall it was fine, it just doesn't live up to other hotels that are similarly priced but much more modern!

We love the hotel and friendly staff here. The hotel is conveniently located near the station (5-6mins). Minutes walk to Donki, Aeon and other local restaurants. We also like the spacious room. There’s also a public bath to relax. Breakfast was also great, except that the menu repeats after 2 days.

While I loved everything about my stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel Okayama, the only downside was the occasional smell of smoke in the non-smoking areas. I have to request changing my rooms to another floor. Despite this minor inconvenience, the hotel’s excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and convenient location more than made up for it. I would suggest implementing stricter measures to ensure the non-smoking areas remain free of any smoke odor. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

Wonderful location! Went walking to Korakuen and Okayama castle, then by train to Bizen for pottery. The hotel is very clean, and has coin laundry on their last floor. Very convenient.

Easy Access to Okayama Station

Nice sized room with space to move around. Comfortable beds. The hotel has easy access to Okayama Station, which is very convenient if you are traveling with luggage. The hotel has Japanese style baths, which are appreciated, and 2 Massage chairs for guests to use. For the baths, tattoos are prohibited - but coverings are available at the front desk. The Breakfast Buffet is highly recommended - pay the extra fee to start your day at the buffet. Drink service is available during the day, until 10PM. Matsui Garden Inn has self check-in and check-out, but front desk staff is available as needed. Elevator security - a scan of the room card is needed to reach any floor other than the first floor. Location is also across the street from AEON Mall. I would stay here again.

房間非常狹小，我們訂三人房，轉身錯過都很困難，幾乎不能放置行李，無桌椅可供休息或放置東西，浴廁也很窄狹，有閉塞感。唯一可取之處是靠近火車站，站內購物用餐方便。旅館提供和洋早餐還不錯。

The hotel is very close to the train and bus station. We arrived before check in time so we left our bags with the hotel to explore Okayama by public transit. The transit system is very easy to navigate. Okayama is very clean. Check in was a breeze. All staff, including the maintenance people were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was delicious. The room seemed a little small but it was clean, and the bathroom was very very nice. There was a multifunctional cable adapter in the room. I didn’t need/use it but I thought that was a nice touch. There’s also an Ethernet patch cable. The Wi-Fi connection was excellent, and there seemed to be ample electrical outlets in the room. I would definitely stay here again. Mywife took advantage of the sauna on the 10th floor.

We had a very good time here to stay in Okayama. Location is excellent and the facilities are nice. The hotel staffs welcome us nicely and also very helpful.
Only thing that I want to mention is the air quality inside of the hotel. Everywhere else was clean but the air was not.
But we enjoyed our stay at The hotel. Thank you!
