Fantastic Hotel in Carnac

We reserved a superior room with views of the salt marsh and it was of excellent quality. On entering the hotel there is a fantastic aroma and it’s obvious the hotel has undergone some refurbishments fairly recently. The reception staff were helpful and very efficient, we ate in the hotel restaurant on the first night and the quality of our meal was also of a high standard. The Spa is currently being refurbished and should reopen later in 2025. Car parking is easy and pretty plentiful, the location of the hotel is just a short level walk to the beach and a few minutes further to shops and a selection of restaurants. Very happy with our stay and would definitely return.

It was fine for a short stay.

Room an adequate size - clean and comfortable with newly refitted bathroom, location fairly good, staff helpful. The hotel is quite airy - nicer-looking from the inside than it appears in the outside. Free parking on site is very handy. The saltwater swimming pool \"complex\" is tired looking and shonky and a slightly weird experience. The breakfast is overpriced. We didn't take any treatments, as they were full up - book them in advance if you are visiting at peak times like us. It was all fine, but you kind of understand why it is available when everywhere else is booked up.

Carnac hotel and spa stay

A really first class experience. The location on the edge of Carnac plage with its bars, restaurants and fabulous beach only a 5 minute walk away is great. All the Brittany attractions within easy motoring distance.
Room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. W C is separate from the bathroom. Alleluia!
The heated pool and spa was great though somewhat busy on a summer weekend.
The breakfast experience is just lovely as you overlook the salt lakes. Can’t recommend too highly.

A relaxing hotel for a nice relaxing short break.

Unfortunately at the moment there are a lot of road alterations going on along the roads near the hotel. It does not cause a problem with noise but it is quite difficult to get along the seafront with a car. You can walk along. The hotel was very quiet and the surroundings are peaceful. There is a terrace to sit and eat or have a drink as well a nice breakfast room/dining room which looks out over the salines(salt ponds). The hotel is in tow buildings but both are really nice. The rooms is the shorter building have showers and the taller building rooms have a bath with a shower over. The rooms are really clean and there is a nice smelling shower gel and hand wash container in the bathroom. The rooms have tea and coffee making facilities and water is provided, both still and sparkling on arrival in the fridge. In the bedroom bathrobes are provided for guest to use going to and from the spa area and swimming pool, flipflops or thongs are available from reception. The swimming pool is heated seawater and around the edge are jets of varying heights that pummel you in various parts of your body. There are beds to lie or sit on around the indoor pool are and outside on the sunterrace. There is a solarium with reclining beds as well for cooler days. There is a wide choice of restaurants in Carnac Plage itself which is a few minutes walk away. A tourist train near the entrance to the hotel takes people around the area to visit the megalithes and La trinite sur mer to watch the boats

We was disappointed with hotel moved rooms as ours was very old fashioned, moved to a more modern room but very small. Hotel seemed to be a detox hotel everyone was in the spa having treatments and eating at hotel, calories on the menu and in bed by 10 not really a holiday hotel we didn't feel but close for walking into the little town which was very nice. Also quiet a smell of sewerage and my patio had bird muck on one of the chairs which was never cleaned !!

Good Hotel / spa / price but fabulous location

I’ve been coming to Carnac for around 35 years. This is the first time I’ve stayed in a hotel. I’ve also been to Spa’s all over Europe. This spa hotel is pretty good. It’s not cheap and the spa is lovely (not exceptional) and the rooms small but considering it’s location I think I will return. If the breakfast was included in the price it would be 5/5. Considering how difficult accommodation is to find in Carnac I’m impressed and would recommend it. The room was advertised as double plus two single - and as I was travelling with my son it was disappointing to be told the room detail was wrong and we ended up with a double bed. The extractor fan from the kitchen was noisy all night also which did spoil the stay quite a bit. Air con is average - but the room had a fridge which was a welcome surprise. All in all 3.5 / 5 from me

A relaxing 2 night stop en route from Santander to Roscoff on motorbike. We didn't have any treatments but it was lovely to be able to use the pool and spa facilities to pamper the aching muscles! Great location for the beach but not too far from the main town either. We even managed to walk to the Carnac Stones and back though the tourist train was tempting!!!

For spa & beach lovers

This place is for spa and beach lovers. Hotel is conveniently located next to beach and beach shops and restaurants. Salt water pool is a refreshing change from chlorine pools. Enough room to swim laps. Jacuzzis and saunas and gym are all included in the price. Other spa services are extra. I did not try them.
The price can be reduced by using Internet booking services such as booking or hotels dot com. You can rent bikes directly from the hotel to see the menhirs and alignments, an easy ride of less than 10 kilometers total. There is.a shuttle bus to the train station in Auray which can be included in the price of the train ticket or arranged with the hotel.
The hotel breakfast buffet is very nice with lots of delicious variety, although a bit expensive,probably worth it. For dinners, the hotel price meals are quite expensive and the food is mediocre. There are vegetarian choices which are less interesting than the regular choices, However, there are other restaurant choices within a short walk.
Downsides: Quite expensive. Rooms on the pond side get mosquitoes if too hot to keep windows closed. No window screens. Can be boring for men not interested in spa or pool. My husband didn't like it at all. Men and women have to wear bathing cap in pool. Renovation underway so some rooms not as nice as others.

Salt water spa and near to Carnac megaliths

After a day of walking amongst megaliths and dolmens, there is nothing like the salt water spa to relax yourself in. These waters are included in your hotel stay and are well worth the visit. There are pools to soak in and different pressures of water to massage your back, shoulders, and whole body. The restaurant is excellent too. There are coffee shops and other restaurants within walking distance, and the nearby beach is lovely!

The Hotel is very nice. The staff were very pleasent. They seem to be upgrading the rooms at the moment so there is building work going on there. So when the drilling started in the room opposite mine I had to get up. Also there is no air conditioning in the room which meant I had to leave the door to the balcony open so the room was full of flies and a bird was in and out of the tree outside the window which didn't help.

Enjoy Brittany, enjoy Carnac Thalasso

The Carnac Thalasso and Spar hotel exceeded our expectations. Helpful staff coping with my schoolboy French, good meals in the Restaurant, musical entertainment in the afternoons and evenings, and of course the saltwater pool and treatments.

We found the area around the hotel very pleasant, a short walk to the sailing centre and beach with several patisserie's, creperies abd restaurants within easy reach. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, and we hope to return again next year.

Notre chambre était très exiguë. Nous avions une micro-terrasse avec une table et deux chaises mais l’une d’entre elle était extrêmement sale. La salle de bain est très petite. Le personnel est peu attentionné et nous donne plus le sentiment d’être dans une caserne que dans un hôtel. Les produits du petits déjeuner sont peu qualitatifs. Cela n’est pas vraiment ce que l’on attend d’un établissement à 4 étoiles. Les espaces extérieurs du spa marins sont petits et peu propices à la détente. Nous ne reviendrons pas

Un très mauvais rapport qualité prix . Cher et Hôtel vieillot et ne parlons pas du \"spa\" . Apparemment une partie de l'hôtel est renovée mais pas la nôtre. Moquette , equipement au minimum et menage quotidien très moyen. Le spa mérite une remise à neuf (gros signe d'usure) et les jets sont peu nombreux et moyens . Massage ok mais les salles vetustes et sans clim. Bref un gros coup de neuf est absolument à faire. Petit déjeuner cher (17eur) pour un choix limité.

Un peu cher pour ce que c'est, les activités du spa ferment trop tôt, moi qui ai l'habitude de voyager et de me rendre dans des hôtels de ce standing, les spa proposent des services adapter à l'afterwork. Malheureusement nous n'avons pas pu profiter du spa et de la piscine.
La literie est bonne et l'hôtel est très bien placé. Déco un peu vieillotte.

Bonjour ,
cet hotel mise tout sur sa réception , les chambre ( notre chambre) était vétuste . Je ne vous parle pas de la salle de bain , je n'ai jamais vu des joints de faïence aussi noir en 15 ans d hôtellerie . Je pensai faire plaisir a ma femme car j'estimai pouvoir avoir une jolie chambre pour 290 euro la nuit ... ( comme dit la personne de l accueil : C'est normal Monsieur , ceux sont d'anciennes chambres Ibis ,elles seront peut-être rénovées prochainement ..Un chambre Ibis bien plus propre est en général a 120 euro ... A éviter. Bcp trop cher pour un hôtel IKEA qui n’est pas au niveau 4 étoiles.

Pour l’accès, on devrait marquer quelque part en gros à l’extérieur le nom de l’hôtel « Salines », et ensuite « reception » pour ceux qui rentre par le parking derrière ou il n’y a absolument rien. Ça évitera que les clients tournent en rond pour trouver l’entrée. Ensuite, quand on paie 400€ pour une chambre, se serait pas mal si on nous aide avec les valises ou au moins qu’on donne des instructions précis pour trouver la chambre. « Suivre les couloirs » n’est pas assez. Et on devrait donner aussi des informations pratiques - ou se trouve la piscine, comment ça marche pour le petit dej et le spa ou le gym. Enfin bref pour le arrivée c’ete bien 0/20.

Au niveau des chambres, oui il y a le nombre de lits comme indiqué mais la pièce est tellement petite qu’il n’y a pas plus que les lits. C’est difficile de naviguer entre l’entrée et les lits, comme si c’ete construit pour des enfants. Pas de table ou de chaises, et dans le WC je n’arrive pas à fermer la porte.

Le petit dej, qui a coûté une fortune a rajouter (erreur de ma part)... très très moyen. Grand buffet avec du pain, yaourts... etc. Dans un spa, on attend des produits frais, des fruits... etc. Les œufs brouillés et les crêpes été dégoûtants.

4 étoiles et >400€.. on attend quelque chose d’assez haut niveau qu’on n’a pas trouvé.

Petits points positif : nespresso dans la chambre et bcp de prises pour brancher les téléphones.

Excellente situation géographique Personnel charmant, chambres bien décorées et literie confortable. Propre et fonctionnel. Salles de bains agréables mais les prix sont exagérés par rapport à la qualité ! Le petit déjeuner buffet n’est pas top. La qualité de la restauration est basique.

Organisation a revoir rapidement

Initialement un week end detente à la thalasso de carnac ou nous avons l habitude d y aller.
Hotel tres bien mais 2 points tres desagreables a noter.
Le sauna et hammam etaient fermés pour cause de covid.je ne comprend pas la logique de laisser les personnes en proximite dans les jacuzzi alors qu il est possible de limiter le nombre restreint de personne dans le sauna ou jacuzzi aurait ete possible. Pour le petit dejeuner impossible de se servir soit meme car une seule personne doit vous servir.consequence 20 minutes d attentes pour se faire servir.pourquoi ne pas mettre 2 ou 3 personnes au PDJ ? Dommage l organisation est a revoir. J aurai apprecie d etre informé lors de la reservation qu une partie des prestations etait fermé.
Il y a trop de.client par rapport a la disponibilite des parcours aquatiques

Cela fait 4ans que nous venons comme d'habitude le personnel est parfait souriant, le petit déjeuner toujours aussi bien, le spa toujours bien par contre dans les chambres c moyen cela en perd c dommage peut être manquez vous de moyens pour les diverses réparations ? Ou manque de personnel ?

Personnel tres disponible et accessible.
Une chambre tres propre mais avec une porte de douche un peu défectueuse. Un large chez au petit déjeuner. Une piscine un spa des infrastructures aquatiques tres bien tenus. Un personnel à l ecoute.

J’ai beaucoup aimé l’espace et la vue de la chambre.
Beaucoup de poussière dans la salle de bain laisser en évidence, les chromes ne sont pas nettoyés ainsi que la vitre de la baignoire, des trucs éparpillé dans la moquette.

Un peu déçu par le buffet de fruits de mer que j’attendais avec impatience. La chambre duplex est un peu petite et très peu de place pour mettre à sécher les serviettes.

Die Spa mit Sauna und Hamam ist super. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und gut. Der Schließmechanismus der Balkontür hat nicht funktioniert. Ich habe dann ein anderes Zimmer erhalten, das eine Katagorie höher war, das war super. Das erste Zimmer war auch etwas eng. Wenn der Koffer auf der Kofferablage war, hatte man kaum Platz um am Bett vorbeizukommen.

Quatre étoiles ...???

Nous avions réservé une chambre avec vue océan, et à notre arrivée, sans que nous n'ayons été prévenu au check in, nous avons été déplacé sur une chambre côté jardin...une bouteille de champage nous attendait cependant dans notre chambre. Nous aurions apprécié être prévenus...Ascenseurs trop souvent en panne, parking hôtel systématiquement plein, nous étions au 3ème étage (le SPA se trouvant au 2ème), et nous avons été dérangés tous les matins par les nuisances sonores.
