This property is lovely, in a perfect location, and the staff were lovely as was the breakfast. Certain parts of our stay were not so good, and when considering the cost to stay, the problems we encountered should have been dealt with quicker and more efficiently. You can only say sorry so many times before accepting there are failings.

We had an incredible stay at this beautiful hotel! For our 25th anniversary, they surprised us with an upgrade from the standard Contessina Hotel to Contessina Suites and Spa and gave us a room with our own private pool, it was absolutely amazing. They also welcomed us with a bottle of wine and provided several great discounts throughout the hotel.

The included breakfast was a highlight, with fresh-squeezed juices and a delicious spread I looked forward to every morning.

But the best part? The staff who were all friendly, helpful, and genuinely courteous.

Don’t even hesitate — stay here. Highly recommended!

We fell in love with the place the moment we got there! Service was excellent, food so good and diverse (changed every night for dinner - we got half board). Everything is so aesthetic and beautiful, makes you want to stay by the pool all day. Would definitely come back if we're back on this island

The hotel Contessina was fantastic place to stay. The hotel suites were beautiful and very comfortable accommodations. This hotel is in a great location were you can walk to many great restaurants and the beach is a 5 minute walk. This hotel had a few public pools as well as private pools with the suites. I look forward to visiting again.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Contessina in Greece. The resort offers top-notch customer service, spacious rooms, and a delicious breakfast spread each morning. Everything was clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed.

One thing to note: this is definitely a couples- and family-oriented hotel, so if you're traveling solo, you may feel a bit out of place at times. That said, it's still a beautiful and welcoming place to stay — I’d absolutely recommend it!

We had such an amazing time at Contessina celebrating our anniversary/my partners belated birthday. As soon as we arrived the staff were so lovely and welcoming – we were delighted to be given an upgraded room with a private pool this truly made our trip extra special and we were so grateful for that!! Overall the ambience of the hotel is sooo peaceful, from the well equipped gym, the gorgeous poolside bar and chill areas to the exquisite breakfast. This hotel is a must stay in Zakynthos! We wanted to say a special thanks to Christina at the bar who made the best cocktails and was truly a ray of sunshine to see every day! The breakfast spread is a beautiful sight, with every nut, grain, and dried fruit neatly stored in glass jars. The table is set with speckled plates and fine china, adding a touch of elegance. The rattan and wooden furniture, in warm beige, brown, and stone tones, create a cozy and natural atmosphere.

The vines draping over the balcony bring a lush, botanical feel that adds to the charm of the space. The staff are incredible.

The staff here are genuinely friendly, always smiling, and approachable. I've met such simple, yet happy and beautiful souls—an experience that has been truly eye-opening.

I came here seeking solitude, and I've found the perfect space to unwind and recharge. The scenery is breathtaking; the beach is a serene retreat with its fresh, calming atmosphere. I could easily spend the entire day there, listening to the rhythmic crash of waves against the shore, just me, my book, and the gentle hum of people laughing, swimming, and chatting with loved ones.

I’m not ready to leave yet, but I know I’ll be back again.

Absolutely stunning hotel, with great design aesthetic. It's an oasis of calm in quite a hectic area. Lovely pool areas and the food at breakfast and dinner (we went half board) was delicious. Lots of vegan/vegetarian options in the evening. The gym was small, but adequate (had Smith and cable machines). The bed was on the small side, at 6'4\" / 193cm, I hung off the end but that was the only niggle!

Our flight to Zakinthos from Athens had to return to Athens due to inclimate weather so we let the hotel know that we would not arrive until the next day. The hotel staff assured us that our rooms would be ready and waiting for us when we got there. Upon arrival, we were told the rooms would be freshened up before we received the key. We were told to go to the breakfast buffet and have a meal. After waiting over an hour for a “room refresh”, we realized that the rooms were most likely used by other customers who were to check out by 11:00 and that was why we had to wait. This means the hotel probably was double paid for our rooms for the night we missed. My daughter went to the front desk and complained and magically our rooms became “refreshed” within about 30 minutes. Just enough time to flip the rooms used that night by other hotel patrons! Not a good look!!!

We liked the hotel it had limited space as a whole and although there was parking it was a challenge to get in and out. Overall crowded and small hotel. Very clean but the pools were full of people with no space between areas felt very small as a whole. Would love something a bit more private next time

Lovely stay but not for the beach!

This is a fabulous property in terms of their amenities and staff. The rooms are modern, very clean and super comfortable (bed, linens, etc.). The staff is incredible, especially Maria from the front desk--who made so many arrangements for us--and always had a smile on her face. Our only disappointment, which is not the hotel's fault, is that the beach close by is not the greatest. We ended up driving to Kalamaki beach every day (30 minutes away). And while it's a matter of personal taste, the town of Tsilivi (where the property is located) is overcrowded and full of average or less restaurants. The only one we found more than worthy of eating at was \"Halfway House,\" which was fantastic.

Fantastic stay. We received an upgraded room upon arrival which was a really great start to our trip.

The private pool at our room was secluded and lovely. The rooms are modern and have everything you needed.

The gym was not the biggest but had everything you would need to train. The pools are all very nice and very clean and the food in the restaurant and at breakfast was absolutely fantastic everytime we ate there.

Swim up rooms - -absolutely beautiful
Hotel has a lovely aroma from the moment you walk in.
App to order drinks to the sun lounger works well

-Food around the pool arrived cold both times we ordered. (Cold chips, cold gyros isn’t pleasant). Just outside the hotel in both directions are lots of restaurants and bars serving hot fresh food.

-Late check out is pricey!

Excellent hotel, probably the best on the island all round.

We chose this hotel over others primarily because of location (close to food, beach and a port), and, among others of its class, this property looked the most modern with a clean bathroom.

The photos honestly don’t do the hotel justice in terms of looks and comfort. There were two great swimming pools. We had a private pool too. We saw the hotel being cleaned thoroughly daily, from the pool to mopping the stone floors outdoors. Staff are amazing and so is the buffet breakfast every morning.

This property felt like a dream. The decor is chic without being overly modern. There is a perfect balance to the decor with an abundance of beautiful plants everywhere. The location is excellent - walking distance to the sea and close to the strip of restaurants, cafes, bars, mini golf, arcade, shops, grocery stores - everything you need. The staff is passionate about what they do and will do anything you need to help you. We went to town for dinner each night so didn’t have an opportunity to eat at the rooftop restaurant but the food at the sushi restaurant and pool restaurant were excellent. Great options for all - I am a vegetarian so always felt like I had options - even at breakfast. There is a beautiful vegetable garden on site and many herb bushes used for the food and drinks. The pool and poolside vibe was great for all and we always felt comfortable with our young kids playing and splashing sun bathers from time to time! No one seemed to mind. There are plenty of pool loungers and we always found a spot no matter what time we came down. The entire property was impeccably clean. The bedroom setup was the best we have yet experienced for a family of 4. Both of our boys had their own sofa beds in what felt like a separate room (without a wall) and a balcony and we had our own balcony also. The spa was excellent- a must visit for an extra touch of pampering! All in all - my family and I had the best vacation here and I would recommend it to anyone. A true gem!

Fabulous hotel with excellent level of customer service.

We went as 2 family of 4 ( teenagers and a 3 year old in the group) and the hotel was a great place to stay with kids pool and adult pool.

Location was walking distance to lots of beaches and shops.

We had the garden pool room which was a lot more money than the average room and was nice but perhaps we wouldn’t do that option again and choose a normal family suite as the pool room was a little on the small side for 4 people and Wardrobe space was tight. But that was the only thing we have to stay otherwise we really liked the hotel.

Amazing boutique hotel at an amazing price. The staff was exceptional and the property is so beautiful. The breakfast buffet was out of this world. I’ve never seen such a buffet. Must have had over 50 items with everything including a dessert section. Very unusual items and great presentation. They upgraded both our rooms to spa tub inside room. Very relaxing atmosphere and plush. It was a real pleasure staying here.

Hotel Contessina is high quality hotel with very good service, higher than four stars. Compliments for the team! The hotel is new and modern designed, with very good landscaping. Every terrace has luxuriant vegetation. The hotel is extremely clean. The rooms are comfortable, some of them have their own pool. The breakfast is with good variety and good quality of food. Only one minus: in the hotel’s website is written that dinner is buffet. But it is not. It is on set-menu, but with not enough options and not consistent with food allergies. The dinner is a little like in students canteen. But when we made a complaint, they restored the money for the dinner in our room’s bill, so we could order food and beverage. So my advice is book a room with breakfast only. Everything else was perfect!

Perfect Getaway

I took a solo trip and stayed there for four nights and it was nothing short of magnificent. I requested early check-in before my arrival and I was able to check in 4 hours before the specified time. My room was spacious and luxurious. I booked the half board option and the food was absolutely phenomenal. The staff were genuinely friendly and really went out of their way to make sure that I enjoyed my stay. I would absolutely go back there!

Fantastic hotel!

Beautifully renovated property with an attention to design details. The hotel is located in the busy Tsilivi area, but you feel more like in an oasis at the hotel itself. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful! The room is on the small/tight side, but has a closet to stow away your clothes. Breakfast buffet was also great, with a lot of tasty food and options. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

This was my first vacation since 2019. And was great. Very good hotel, beautiful pool area. Quiet. Very clean. Safe. Everybody wear masks. The staff is very kind, friendly and helpful. The restaurant is open and the air is circulating. We received an upgrade and the room was fantastic with a pool. Only one thing: there are no many choices for dinner. It’s on a set menu with gourmet variations, but there can be more choices. But our stay was great. I will recommend the hotel to my friends.

Had an absolutely fantastic stay in this hotel. The hotel is very welcoming with an airy reception. Staff are fantastic and cannot do enough for you. On arrival we were allocated room 112. The room itself was spacious and spotless but the outlook was the stairwell of the next block and was over the kitchen. When we spoke to reception they arranged to move us the next day, no problem.
The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. They are cleaned regularly
The pool area is lovely and had plenty of sun beds and shades.
There was plenty of choice at breakfast, which due to covid was selected from the menu and plated up by a staff member.
The staff are what really make this hotel, friendly, attentive, courteous and hard working. It is hard to pick out anyone in particular they all play their part in making this a very welcoming place.
It is located in a quieter part of the resort but there are still plenty of restaurants and bars close by with our favourite being the Liminaki, due in equal parts to its location, food and excellent service.
This hotel and resort are definitely on our return to list.

Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Fotini. We had booked a double room which is compact but well designed to have enough space. Very nice modern design and clean. Staff members Christo and Eri were great! Overall beautiful modern hotel, free parking which is a big plus, very nice pool, great staff and great location surrended with many restaurants and only a 10 minute drive to Zakynthos town. Would definitely stay here again.

Sparkling clean and brand new. Renovations completed recently so don’t let the photos on other websites put you off from booking. Great breakfast and outstanding customer service. Only downside is if you’re looking to stay of the touristy area in Zante this might not be your first choice. Convenience of restaurants and bars at walking distance is important but also quite busy at night.

1 negative - nowhere to hang anything on the balcony to dry so everyone hangs stuff on the glass which detracts the image of the modern hotel. A simple pull out airer would be perfect.

Location is nice , the swimming pool looked fab as well as the unusual sun loungers.
Breakfast offers great choice, the girls at reception were very friendly , professional and helpful. The whole building is kept clean and airy.

Didn’t enjoy the placing of towels to “ reserve” sunbed.

Our bedroom was ok but lacked style,though big balcony but small bathroom it had partial view to the pool.
The bed was very confortable though and the towels were nice and fluffy.

Just back from an 11 night stay in this fantastic hotel . Had a lovely room overlooking the pool - it was both spacious and spotless, cleaned on a daily basis. The staff in this hotel from check in to catering to cleaners to bar staff are first class. Always so friendly and courteous meeting you with s smile st all times. Breakfast was excellent with great choices off hot and cold which was continually replenished. The hotel had a lovely clean pool area and we loved the location - 5 minutes to the sea 1 minute to the supermarket. Just in a side road off the main road with an abundance of supermarkets and restaurants very close by. They have a lovely lunch menu with freshly cooked options and a lovely bar manned by the every charming Sot and side kick Alex. Overall we had a wonderful holiday here and highly recommend this hotel

Quality Hotel at reasonable price

Great location in the heart of Tsilivi near to everything. Hotel room was clean bright spacious and with lots of storage space and very modern effective and quiet air conditioning free of charge. Breakfast was plentiful and relaxed and dining room extended to the pool area which was kept cool by day and uncovered at night to give a very comfortable area around the bar where fellow guests were very sociable. Lots of families given it was August but although busy (and we were a couple in our 60's ) we found it very enjoyable and not at all noisy or rowdy. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly too. For overall experience, quality location and price I would highly recommend it

Good location with fantastic staff!

Having never been to Zante, we chose this hotels on previous reviews. Luckily they were spot on! We are a family with two adults and two teens and had an interconnecting room (room 202). The room faced out towards the front of the hotel so was a quieter room. There is a huge balcony connecting the two rooms at the front too. Breakfast was included and consisted of a hot buffet and continental choices and the usual juices and Tea/coffee. There is also a bar which served alcohol and during the day you could order food, prices were reasonable. Staff were excellent and dealt with all queries efficiently and helped us throughout our stay- special mention to Nikos, Nikki and Fotini who were on reception. And *Rita” and Eri who worked in the bar.

Lively hotel near the beach

The hotel is conveniently located, just 5 minutes walk from the Tsilivi Beach. It has a lively bar and pool area, and the neighborhood is also vibrant. Throughout the night you might be hearing live music from the bars, which is great if you love the night life.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The only thing that was less convenient was the door of our room - We had to push/pull really hard and lock the door, otherwise the door opens.

Thoroughly enjoyable holiday

First time in Zante. We loved both the hotel and the location. The rooms were cleaned daily to a high level. The service in the lobby and the bar was very good. Pool area was very good too. Most of all we enjoyed the location. Everything we required including the beach was close to hand. Would definitely recommend this hotel

Not happy with Expedia

Hotel was great, but not happy with Expedia, we got to the hotel at 5 in the morning and was told that we would have to wait till 2 o’clock in the afternoon to check in, we booked it as a package deal so didn’t expect to have to sit in reception having no sleep waiting around with our cases

Nice hotel , close to beach & restaurants

Spotlessly clean hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. There are lots of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. It is also very convenient for the beach. We chose not to use the poolside loungers, mainly because we refused to engage in the practice of blocking a bed by placing a towel on one before 8am, regardless of when we intended to use it. It is obvious that this practice has been a problem for some, time which the management has failed to address!

Great hotel in Tsilivi, Zakynthos

This hotel is at the edge of the main part of Tsilivi so very convenient for the restaurants and bars but a little quieter because it's off the main drag. It's also only 100m to the lovely beaches.The hotel itself could not be rated higher for cleanliness, helpfulness of the staff, a great choice for breakfast, the room and a lovely swimming pool and area. Just watch the sunbed reservers out first thing even though the hotel specifically states that beds should not be reserved!

Lovely clean hotel, close to beach & restaurants

Arrived very early morning and hotel staff worked hard to get a room available early and provided us the extra breakfasts with no extra charge. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Pool area was always popular but sun beds available if getting to pool before 10am or after 3pm. Staff were very friendly and approachable for advice and for restaurant recommendations. Nearly all rooms have a pool view.

This is the first time we have stayed here and I have to say most impressive. Our room was lovely though an inward facing room would have been much better. We booked late so that was fine. Staff very helpful and nice to talk to. The Pool and surrounding area was good. We went in term time and not too many children making a noise and little ;vinyl clogging up the pool itself.

This is a very welcoming small hotel which we have visited every year over the last 4 years and a place where we meet a number of people who also return regularly. We like the fact that it is B&B and has a good choice of breakfast so that in the evening we can visit the tavernas to eat. Everyone from housekeeping, reception, bar and waiting staff provide excellent service and can't do enough for you.
It is well located near the beach and several tavernas.

beautiful hotel ideal for beach and town centre

lovely hotel and friendly staff was a little disappointed as I had emailed hotel and asked for a room overlooking pool, but not available so ended up with room next to bar and over main street very noisy mentioned to reception but didn't do anything so was pity as my husband had been ill and wanted a quiet room for holiday

Great hotel fantastic staff!

We ended up in Patras because a family member was in hospital there. The hotel staff were absolutely brilliant in helping us, from places to eat, taxis to use, ferry bookings, everything! The hotel was spotless, the best we had, our whole stay on Greece.

Great Hotel

We have just returned from two weeks at this hotel in August 2015. We had a brilliant time and I wanted to say Thank you to the staff who do everything they can to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible. The room which was away from the bar area was quiet and well appointed. we all thought the beds were comfortable and the room very spacious.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to my friends and family. It's very convenient for local restaurants and bars and also the beach. most of all it has truly brilliant staff from the handy man to the bar staff and cleaners who are all happy and create a wonderful atmosphere.

Very nice place to stay!

The Hotel Contessina served our purposes very well. We stayed there for a couple nights because my wife wanted to get some shopping done in Tsivilli (sp?). The staff at this hotel must be some of the best in Zakynthos, very helpful and friendly. The beaches around here weren't my favorite in Zakynthos but there are certainly some good restaurants within walking distance. I recommend \"Peppers\", family run and very excellent food, the best that we had in Zakynthos. Pool can be pretty busy during the day.
