Really cool vibe at this hotel. The rooftop bar has spectacular views and the food/cocktails are excellent. We almost felt guilty eating here too often because while we wanted to check out other locations, the food here was so good! (Try the club sandwich. It is excellent). The staff are really excellent, they go above and beyond to make sure you're taken care of and this is a pretty quiet hotel for El Poblado.

I had an amazing stay! As a solo female traveler, safety is always a top priority for me, and I felt completely comfortable and secure the entire time. The staff were kind, welcoming, and attentive they truly made the experience even better. It’s located in a prime location so it’s close to everything.
The deluxe room was very spacious, clean, and well-maintained, which made my stay feel relaxing and luxurious. I also loved the rooftop bar, such a great vibe and the perfect spot to unwind.

I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone, especially solo travelers!

Excellent stay at the Zarzo.

From check-in upon hotel, to check-out day of departure. Hotel staff was awesome, friendly and very welcoming to the hotel. Everything was wonderful. A must do is the rooftop bar at the Zarzo.

El Zarzo staff is the greatest part of the hotel. Extremely attentive, friendly, and informative. Rooftop bar was the highlight for us great drinks and vibes. Down side rooms are smaller then other rooms you can find for this price and the bed was on the firm side. Also while we were there(8/23/25) they are working on expanding so they had construction going on and they like to start at 7am and if your a light sleeper you can hear music/ traffic all night till 3am.

Prime location, top-notch service, and a rooftop bar that could easily become your second home. The staff at the hotel and upstairs were walking encyclopedias of food, drinks, and local tips. Now, about the neighborhood… let’s just say it’s alive. If you’re a light sleeper like me, you’ll hear the city’s heartbeat all night long. At the end of my stay, I noticed earplugs on the table — mystery solved. Next time, hand those out at check-in and watch your guest satisfaction soar. Noise drama aside, the stay was a hit from start to finish.

Ideal location for a stay in Medellin

Beautiful boutique hotel in proximity to excellent restaurants and within walking distance of Metro. All wood, tile and natural concrete interior, with balcony plantings that give the impression of being in a rainforest. Breakfast is prepared to order and includes eggs made to order, plus local varieties. Gourmet chef in restaurant, plus there is a rooftop bar with sliding roof that is opened in clear weather and affords panoramic view of mountains. Front desk service is friendly, several attendants speak English, and are helpful in arranging tours in the area.

I stayed one night at Hotel El Zarzo and had the most amazing experience. We landed at 9am and was allowed checkin shortly after because the room had already been prepared (ahead of the usual 11am check in) . At check in we recieved a warm welcome, 2 free welcome cocktails at the roof top bar and 20% of at the restaurant Cocina 33. The room felt like a spa retreat with soft dimmed light and aroma therapy scents, a fully stocked nespresso coffee bar, tea and water. Shortly after the staff brought up a tray of artisan desserts that were DELICIOUS and a hand written note expressing their excitement for our stay. Everyone and everything was so warm and welcoming, I can’t wait to return and eat delicious meals at Cocina 33 again!!!

We just finished a wonderful stay at the El Zarzo. We can't say enough good things about the warm and friendly staff who sincerely wanted to make our stay as enjoyable as possible (special thanks to Felipe at the front desk, Elisabeth at the hotel restaurant (and rooftop bar), and the hotel manager who helped us with our question. There's a reason this place has such a high review score. Everything about it is incredible. Felipe at the front desk is so friendly (and all the front desk staff addressed my by name as I came and went), the room was so trendy, comfortable, and perfectly quiet, the food was delicious, and there is no better location. El Zarzo delivered an exceptional experience during and, crucially, after my stay.

The hotel is beautiful, well-kept, and located in a great location. The rooftop bar offered stunning views of the city and is a perfect place for a night cap after a day exploring Medellín.

But what really stood out was the remarkable service the staff offered me after my stay. I had left a personal item behind, and Victor as well as the rest of the staff went out of their way to coordinate its shipment back to me in the UK, checking in with me daily to ensure its delivery. From the careful packaging to the seamless communication, the attentiveness was truly extraordinary.

5-star experience with a personal touch.

First of all you will be very impressed with the staff, all were very courteous and helpful. The front desk will help with all local arrangements.

In my opinion their Restaurant 33 has the best food in Medellin. The rooftop bar is very pleasant and they make great drinks, the New York Sour was our favorite.

The rooms are comfortable, the beds are big and very comfortable, fantastic shower. The only negative for us was the size of the closet.

The neighborhood is safe, walkable with many, many restaurants and clubs and shops.

We highly recommend El Zarzo.

The hotel is lovely, the rooftop and room was outstanding. The only downfall is the food at the restaurant, by far the worst food I ate in Colombia. I have to mushroom risotto, it was terrible.. and my friend had. The steak which was also terrible. The bread and butter was delicious. The food at breakfast on the roofdeck was delish. The chef should be in the restaurant

The best hotel in Medellin. Far superior to Click Clack or Charlee. Restaurant is excellent but pricey. The only negative is the menu online for room service doesn’t exist. When you go online the menu shown is the downstairs bar menu and they give you no directory in the room to call the front desk or room service. So unless your psychic you have to go to the front desk to ask for a directory

The only inconveniencewas that hhe restaurant at the first floor wasn't part of hhe hotel and because of tha there was no way to charge to the room, so i has ho go back to the room for the card wen usually restaurants and other services within a hotel premises are available to do a room charge.

Wow where do I begin ! Amazing staff , very safe hotel I loved that as a woman I traveled alone and felt SAFE ! In the hotel the staff remembers everyone by name, which I truly appreciated, not to mention you can’t go on different floors of the hotel unless you scan your card which is programmed to each floor! As a woman who traveled Solo alone to I APPRECIATE THAT SO MUCH ! Wow I can go on and on the front desk, the breakfast and staff, the cleaning staff, the rooftop staff , the food 10/10 ! I will return soon.

The customer service here is outstanding. Every staff member at the front desk was phenomenal. I didnt have much interaction with other employees but when i did, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Great location. Rooms were great. The downfalls are that it is a bit noisy. And there is no pool or fitness center.

Upon getting dropped off I found the
Building to be beautiful. I loved the design and immediately knew I was going to be well taken care of. Upon check in I was escorted to my room and given a quick tour. They give you a pass to receive welcome drinks from the rooftop bar, the drinks were delicious. The room is beautiful, the bathroom is stunning and the mattress and pillows are comfortable. The breakfast is really good and the burgers at the rooftop taste amazing. The staff goes the extra mile to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

This property was spectacular. We were really blown away by the exceptional service since checking in. All the staff we had encounters with were always trying to ensure we felt like we had everything we needed. Cocina 33 roof top had free breakfast for guests that were cooked with fresh juice and coffee. Not to mention the drinks were always stellar. The area is VERY safe. As a first time visitor to this country, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Everything was in walking distance; there were some phenomenal restaurants in the area. There’s many convenience stores as well. Exchange places for money, atms, and transportation was easy to pick us up.
