I want to stress that this hotel is not for everybody due to its location a little further from the train station and central areas. I turned 61 this year and am in good health and decent shape. So I had no problem walking 20-25 minutes
from the train station to the hotel including a long flight of stairs uphill about a block away from the hotel (with one small rolling carry-on). I love the location, the exterior and interior decor of the hotel and my room. The advantage of the location is that it was in quiet neighborhood, there are several museums and adjacent restaurants about 2-3 blocks away via those same stairs. All of the staff were awesome and the hotel's restaurant was a full service one, unlike some others during the reopening phase of the Pandemic climate. I didn't have every meal there but I did have breakfast and dinner there and both were excellent.

Stayed in the hotel as I was attending a family gathering in the city as my brother lives there. The hotel staff was very helpful and the room clean and good size. Very nice shower gel and attentive staff. Would come back again and I recommend to others

Great Hotel!

Great hotel. Staff is amazing--went out of their way to help us. We arrived late, exhausted and hungry. They allowed us to eat at their restaurant even though it was almost closing and even offered us that opportunity, without me having to ask. Very friendly and kind.

The hotel overall was ok but the room was down some creepy hallways that light up as you walk down them but before the lights go on its dark and has a deserted feel to it. The room was fine although it does have a bit of a Las Vegas feel to it with the shower showing into the room through a glass window. Amenities were sparse and tissue box was empty. Nice breakfast in the morning although not included with the room.

Fantastic bedroom with huge bed and brilliant shower! Modern and quirky decor and well equipped for laptops etc.
The hotel is built on a hill so reception etc. Is on the top floor with bedrooms below. Nice restaurant with friendly staff. Superb breakfast.

Unique, unforgettable room designs

The startling but crisply appealing room design was intriguing even to a non-reader of German. It will be one of the hotels I will remember forever even though I was there for only one night. It was great that it was easy to walk to the heart of activity in Saarbrucken.

short stay of 2 nights

During our stay of 2 nights the hotel was not fully booked. It was very clean, the breakfast was good with lots of choices. At our arrival the receptionist asked us if we liked our room, if not we could change it. That was impressive. We liked the lounge area at the pool and the garden. However, there is no sun in the garden from the afternoon onwards. Also, it is quite a long way to the city center, you could not really walk that. You need a car or need to take a taxi. The price is fair.

Dont use Hotel.com but this hotel was fine.

The place was fine and close to subway. Beds were comfy and if you want to use the pool you need to own a speedo. No regular surfer suits aloud. They were very strict about that and not very nice about it.

A Thriller of a Hotel

Really great hotel and friendly staff. Only point of note is if you’re on foot with cases etc then bit of fitness required as located up a hill. The flip side of that is that it also provides great views. Great beer as well.

Art was cool . Had a nice wall painting above the bed. 50ish comic theme. Enjoyed seeing it a different approach to decorating. Very clean hotel even with 2 lower floors being in total renovations. Located on a high hill but had a map of city below as told was very doable to walk . It was and very enjoyable.

Hotel is in a nice location. Food is nice and the service is fantastic. Everyone in the service staff was very friendly and helpful. They could accomodate all my requests.

Keep in mind to ask hotel explicitly for a room with AC. Some of the rooms don't have it. My room didn't have an AC but the weather was fantastic and I didn't quite need it.

Great eco design hotel - perfect for vegans too!

We loved this hotel. We stayed here with our little baby and the staff was wonderful. We are vegan, and the restaurant was fantastic for that. The chef made two great dishes for us. The breakfast was also great. The restaurant is organic certified.
The rooms are very nicely decorated. All arty and very comfortable.

The Hotel Am Triller was a really good stop off on a Euro-roadtrip, we got held up, so we didn't arrive until around 1am, but the hotel were very happy to help us that late at night, and helped us find parking (their parking was full.) The next morning we had the opportunity to use the pool, and the sauna which was a welcome surprise, and then the concierge gave us very good instructions to wander into town and enjoy a nice relaxed breakfast! We would definitely stay here again!

Lovely quiet location in Saarbruecken

Loved the location - it's on the quieter side of Saarbruecken right behind the palace so you don't get all the crowds in the centre. There is a small little biergarten at the back where you can enjoy a quiet drink, as well as a nice pool. And it's really only a 10 mins walk across the bridge to the city as well.

The hotel was a short walk - down many stairs - to the Castle at Saarbrucken, then a short walk to shopping, restaurants and the train station. We really got our bang for the buck by staying there, enjoying the cleanliness and comfort of the hotel and visiting the surrounding area. The restaurant at the hotel was amazing; both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Most of the staff spoke English, and truly went out of their way to ensure our comfort.

Nice hotel with quirky style

Needed a hotel for a 1 day stop over in Saarbruecken - found this gem!
Nicely done 'theme' hotel - I stayed in the Saar-legends section. Very nice rooms, which I found very comfortable.
Had some of the local specialties at the restaurant, and was not disappointed! One also need to try the home-brew (or at least home-label...).
Staff was very friendly and helpful in all respects.
The location is up-hill from down-town (~15minutes, dependent on your pace), so if you're not too keen on walking, a cab ride may be on order. Personally, I enjoyed the walk to the historic downtown.

Relatively easy to get to from Autobahn, but for those final turns a GPS is recommended...

Definitely a place to keep on the list!

Hotel Am Triller is a fun and interesting place to stay in Saarbruken Germany. All the rooms appear to be decorated differently and very well done.

We stayed at this hotel as we had a wedding to go to in the area. The area itself was perfect as it was within walking distance to downtown. It was great that the room had AC however it would make this loud strange sound spontaneously and would wake you up just as you were about to fall asleep. The room was very clean. However it did feel cramped, especially in the bathroom. The service was fine nothing to go crazy about but they were nice. All in all I would probably recommend this hotel especially for the price and the face that it was very clean so I did feel comfortable staying there.

Very nice hotel - working distance to the city centre, excellent restaurant, fairly good breakfast, very clean room, very helpful stuff. The only downside was proximity to the main road so one could hear the traffic from the early hours if the window open for the night (there is air conditioning in the rooms so possible just leave the window closed).

Das Hotel liegt in einer ruhigen und dennoch sehr zentralen Lage, was den Aufenthalt besonders angenehm macht. Positiv hervorzuheben sind zudem die vorhandenen Parkmöglichkeiten sowie die ausgezeichnete Auswahl und Qualität der Produkte beim Frühstück.

Verbesserungswürdig war die Sauberkeit des Bestecks. Zudem fehlten in dem ansonsten sehr schönen Zimmer die Amenities, was leider den Gesamteindruck und den Wert der Unterkunft etwas mindert.

I am travelling continously due to my work and come here hoping to sleep well and to relax. Now, i could not resist but to stay yet another night as a private weekend stay, as i slept so well. This is absolutely a perfect choice for anyone wanting a very quiet location but still in few minutes walking distance from the Saabrücken altstadt pedestrian. (800m to Sankt Johann when using the nearest path & pedestrian bridge.) I liked swimming pool and the wellness area where to relax and i felt lucky to be there as the only person. Yes, certain areas looks like waiting for an upgrade as this a 4-star hotel. But everything fine. when it comes to my room i found it very nice: really clean in every way, comfy bed, a nice green window view, with a view partially to river Saar (Hotel located on a hillside street, my room in 5. floor towards east-south). Price quality very good. Btw. As i stayed two nights i got the Saarland Card for free, which gives free access to museums, busses etc.

Ich komme nun schon seit Jahren zur Übernachtung zum Hotel am Triller. Die Qualität des Hotels hat nachgelassen. Fürs Parken muss man inzwischen auch bezahlen. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob ich auch weiterhin im Hotel am Triller übernachten werde.

Sehr freundliches Personal am Empfang. Schwimmbad und Sauna sind schön und gepflegt. Sehr umfangreiches Frühstücksangebot.

Schade war, dass wir am Anreisetag nicht darüber informiert wurden, dass ein Tisch für das Abendessen reserviert werden muss und das Restaurant belegt war. Weiterhin war unser Zimmer sehr dunkel, die Tiefgarage ist für heutige KFZ zu eng und u. E. zu teuer.

Die Zimmer sind schön groß und in hervorragendem Zustand. Hier gibt es absolut nichts zu bemängeln. Der Leiter der Rezeption ist super freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Leider kann man das zu seiner weiblichen Kollegin nur bedingt sagen.

Der Spa-Bereich ist recht klein und schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und war an manchen stellen nicht sehr sauber - bessere Alternativen gibt es in Saarbrücken allerdings auch nicht (zumindest haben wir keine gefunden). Schade ist, dass am Sonntag Bar & Restaurant geschlossen haben (war so aber auch angekündigt).

Am Abreisetag wurde man um 7:30 Uhr von den Handwerkern direkt vor unserm Fenster geweckt und dann mussten wir auch noch kalt duschen gehen. Man hätte wenigstens mal bescheid sagen können, dass das Warmwasser nicht geht, fanden wir sehr enttäuschend. Der Preis war viel zu hoch für nur 2 Übernachtungen.

Das Hotel war fast schon ein Reinfall die Badewanne war kaputt das Personal war unfreundlich und meinte dazu man hätte Pech gehabt weil es zu spät war (21 Uhr) das trinken in der minibar war abgelaufen und es wurde gesagt das die Bluetooth Anlage kaputt wäre als ich probierte ging sie aber außerdem konnte man trotz das es in der Info stand kein Tablet ausleihen

Sehr schönes, nettes und fußläufig zur Altstadt/ Schloss gelegenes Hotel. Gute Küche, gutes Frühstück - was will mn mehr.

Im Großen und Ganzen war alles prima. Nur beim Frühstück gab es oft lange Lücken. 8 Minuten bis es 10 neue Brötchen gab.

pas un 4 étoiles !!!

Pour un hôtel 4 étoiles il est assez mal entretenu. salle de billard, pitoyable!
La chambre bien pour un deux étoiles, la salle de bains trop petite.
aspect extérieur de l'immeuble médiocre. Enfin pour un hôtel, excellent...selon certains avis... je me demande si on parle du même hôtel.

Gute Lage und kundenorientierten Personal.
Das Hotel ist schön zentral und trotzdem ruhig gelegen. Die Altstadt ist ganz in der Nähe.
Das Personal ist freundlich, hilfsbereit und aufmerksam.

15 Minuten zu Fuss vom Zentrum entfernt. Schöne und vor allem ruhige Lage. Kleines Schwimmbecken mit Gegenstromanlage.
