The Hotel is a short walk from the spectacular Archaeology Museum and Excavations, and is set back from the road. Absolutely quiet, with comfortable lounge seating and pool, in a family environment. Very welcoming.

This is a very tired place. It needs significant repairs and maintenance. The room and bathroom were both very small. Every staff member that we encountered was grumpy and acted like they hated their job. The atmosphere was really cold and uninviting.
Although our stay was in the year 2025, at check out I was asked to stand at reception while the clerk prepared our bill. She shuffled a pile of papers, picked numbers off various papers, hand wrote them on a blank page, added the numbers, and presented the page to me. I was stunned!
We do not recommend this hotel at all.

We arrived early at the hotel and we're allowed to park at the hotel while we walked to the ancient Greek Temples which were an easy walk from the hotel.

The hotel had beautiful grounds and a nice swimming pool.

The room was nice and clean, but simple.

We atedinner and it was delicious, as was the morning breakfast.

All in all a great stay and we would do it again. If you are going to see the Temples, it is worth a stay.

This was a perfect overnight accommodation for us to stop and visit the Paestum Archaeological Park, traveling up from Sicily to Naples. The room was just what we needed. The staff were super kind and helpful. They offered a nice dinner in their restaurant, and breakfast was included the next morning before we walked just a few minutes down the road to the park and were permitted to leave our car there so we would not have to pay additional parking fees!

I loved everything about this hotel. The atmosphere and unique collectibles in the breakfast room were fascinating to look at. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable. The host was so warm and friendly and made us feel like we were at home. The breakfast was delicious with a great selection to choose from. I can't wait to come back again.

This property is charming. The pool area is beautifully laid out. We spent a week there and found the staff to be very polite and helpfull and the owner is on site and is also very helpful with lots of help and informaton about the local area. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed.The Villa Rita is within easy walking distance of the archaeological park and the beach. I would go back there like a shot.

This hotel is a true gem! It is like living in a beautiful art gallery and garden combined!! Regarding the complaints about having to pay a measly €3 for a pool cap, no complaint should be made. Wearing a pool cap is standard in Italy and it’s purpose it to keep things cleaner and more sanitary for everyone!! I highly recommend this place and definitely would go back in a heartbeat. Couldn’t be more convenient to the archeological park.

This is a hidden gem near the Paestum ruins. We so enjoyed everything about the hotel - proximity to the World Heritage Site, the beautiful swimming pool, the excellent food (not included), the cleanliness of the hotel, and the friendly, helpful staff. This is a generational family business and they take pride in the quality of the hotel and the service. Relaxing, lovely.

Well located and relaxing

This is a beautiful hotel in the countryside with lovely rooms, a great dining area and a swimming pool. Yet, it is also very well located and a very easy walk to the Greek Temples and the beach. The dinners they served were excellent and the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. It is a very relaxing place to say.

Villa Rita - great pool.

Lovely hotel, perfectly placed for Paestum archaeological site. Room was good with air conditioning and breakfast had to be pre-booked. Swimming pool was welcome although we had to buy a hat to wear in the water, 3 euros, and 1 euro to hire a towel. Didn't realize until afterwards that there was a drying rail outside our window to hang wet costumes.
Staff were all very friendly and organized a taxi back to the station (walked from station on way in but it was a decent walk, 20 minutes, and very hot) and printed out some seat reservations for us.
The only gripe concerned the need to change our towels when we were only there for 2 nights so absolutely not necessary. Also the room was tidied on the first morning, when the new towels arrived we guess, which we weren't expecting nor wanted. The room was messy and things like passports were left on show so was a bit cross that someone had been in. I know it was done with the best of intentions but we were unaware that this would happen. Maybe have some notices to hang on the outside of the door saying room cleaning/ towels not required. Most hotels try not to change towels as often as they did for environmental reasons which we encourage.
Apart from that, this family-run hotel was very good.

Spacious, well-decorated inside-out, clean and quiet. Super friendly and nice owner and staffs, beautiful dining hall, free great breakfast and best dinner ever (esp. the fish is super delicious) at a very reasonable price. Free ride to train station and free bike to the temples and the museum. Very happy , highly recommend and love to re-visit in the future.

Stay cool at the Villa Rita

Nice venue. About a 10-15 minute walk to the temple complex...another 10 to the train station. Great pool.....on a hot day, take a break from the temples and cool off. Bigger than most hotel pools. Really nice. Got a nice breakfast on the 2nd day...didn't know about it the first day. I did not have dinner at the hotel. Clean and quiet. No problems.

Over all nice but strange check in.

Check in was a little weird as the young man who helped us really struggled with his English and was extremely nervous. He forgot to get our passport copied and the local tax charges. Very confused directions to the Greek ruins.
The room was nice and clean, the bed comfortable, and the place easy to find.
They had a great breakfast.

We were very impressed with two of the staff - Damion and Emanuel (Anglicized). They went out of their way and even moved their personal vehicles to give us access to free parking - that I was led to believe would be included.

The location was quite good in that we were able to walk about during our stay. We did a walking tour of the city and were able to walk to the Colosseum to begin our tour. The restaurants within walking distance were okay - we don’t demand fine dining. The one that we were handed a business card to try was a disappointment. The rooftop lounge was fun, we shared an evening up there with a couple from the UK who travel frequently. We met them over breakfast. The young woman behind the bar was lovely and on a whole we found that we were very easily able to communicate with everyone in English.

Great Cozy Peaceful Hotel

We stayed here with our 7 year old boy and the 3 of us had a blast. It was relaxing, had everthing we needed and a great pool. Staff was helpful and we were close to the beach with easy parking. The beach had soft sand and water was nice and warm.

A hidden gem. Beautiful, expansive property; peaceful, quiet, relaxing, and just a short walk to the archaeological sites. Owner Luigi & daughter Rita are attentive, knowledgeable, & helpful. Our reservation was not honored!

We made a reservation at the hotel filler return only to arrive at the hotel and be told no room at the inn. At check-in they said they have given all the rooms to people in buses that were coming so they had no room for us after we had made a reservation. So we would say stay where they honor your reservation not at this hotel!

Good hotel near ruins.

Comfortable room with softer mattress than typically found in Europe. Towels were very coarse so care needed to be taken while using - never seen anything like it in my life. Breakfast is good. 20 minute walk from train. 10minute walk from museum. Would stay here again.

Lovely family-run hotel

We stayed 2 nights in July in this lovely hotel . Beautiful pool and gardens, large comfortable rooms and good food. Beach 15 minutes' walk away and the stunning Greek temples close by. .Rita picked us up from the railway station at Paestum and her father dropped us back. We didn't have a car but for a longer stay you might need to have one to go further afield.

Great place to stay!

Wonderful, charming place to stay. Luigi, the proprietor, and his daughter, Rita (the Rita is her grandmother), are such wonderful people - you will love them and the great atmosphere at this beautifully appointed B&B/hotel. Walking distance to the archaeological site, which is one of the best you'll see. Features the Diver's Tomb, the only intact Greek tomb. Hooray for Villa Rita - a wonderful find!

Very Charming Villa

We stayed here for the first 2 nights of our \"Italian Vacation\" and what a great way to start. Guido (I think, & apologies if I have miss-named you) and his grand daughter Rita were excellent hosts of this charming, quiet, well kept, and well maintained villa. We absolutely loved their garden and pool and the proximity to the Greek ruins of Paestum and the sea. This was the perfect place to unwind and get into the holiday mode. We did not get to experience the evening dining, but breakfast was exceptional, with great ambiance, charm, and selection. We would certainly return to this villa in an instant! Thank you for the evening wine and local cheese introduction - a pleasant memory!

We booked two rooms for a family vacation. Great location close to the Paestum ruins and to the beach. Quiet area. Very helpful family-run people. Lovely pool. Enjoyed the breakfast, especially the hard cooked eggs and being served coffee by the pot.

The family at Villa Rita are very accommodating. We had to leave early to get to Naples airport and they had breakfast ready for us before their scheduled time. We were visiting family in a small town 1 hr and 30 min. away We wished we had more time to spend at this resort. The pool is lovely and it was very family oriented..

Was good for family of five

We needed an apartment for five for our three nights in Sorrento and this hotel met our needs. It was a little ways outside of town, however, one could walk down to the beach where there were good restaurants of various types. We parked up a steep road in an olive grove, which worked out fine, the attendant even gave us a key. The rooms,closets, and bathroom were very adequate, and well stocked. The kitchen was able to be closed of with movable doors. The master bedroom and the kitchen opened to a porch, which allowed for the early risers to let the sleepers sleep. My suggestion for management would be to put a few more kitchen essentials in the unit such as salt , oil, and dish rag.

Excellent country hotel in a small villa. Outbuildings with rooms, including a little porch with table. Basic furnishing but fine. Excellent air conditioning that worked to keep one properly cool in 30 degree heat. Nice decor in main building, where a decent breakfast buffet can be had. Less than 10 minutes walk to the temples of Paestum. Maybe 15 minutes walk (and less than 5 minutes drive) to a very nice sandy beach on the Mediterranean (fairly busy and built up but still nice, with fairly shallower water only going out a distance). Hotel also has a pool, but never tried it. Very friendly and helpful owners.

Lovely hotel in beautiful grounds close to temples

Lovely hotel with beautiful pool and grounds. Excellent position for access to archaeological site and within walking distance of the beach. We were a bit disappointed to find ourselves in the outside rooms instead of within the hotel, but otherwise a good experience. Arita was charming and very helpful and we were given a free lift to the station on our departure.

We were given a hospitable welcome. The owner is a man with a ongoing legacy that he will one day leave to his daughter. This is not just a hotel but a home,where questions and comforts are answered easily. Everyone is gracious and I would love to visit again and enjoy the pool area and local.

Beautiful, rustic villa with charming host(s). Owner stayed up an hour and a half longer than he should to let us in when the Italian railway let us down. Excellent fresh breakfasts too - proper juice, local yoghurt, fresh pastries. Couldn't fault it and 5 minute walk to the ruins. Even gave us a lift to the station - marvellous all round.

Lovely family run Bed and Breakfast

We had a great stay in this B & B. The owner,Luigi and his daughter, Rita could not do enough for us. Our room overlooked a great view of their gardens and mountain in the distance. A very peaceful setting. Rita even booked our train tickets for the following day which was not easy and took up a lot of her time. We had dinner there which we highly recommend. The dining room setting was lovely and Rita intermingled with the guests while serving dinner. She was great, always cheerful and also very knowledgeable about the wines in the region. I would recommend this B & B to anyone. The nearby ruins and museum were some of the best we saw in Italy. Thank you Luigi and Rita for a wonderful B & B experience in beautiful Italy! The Villa Rita Hotel was very pleasant surprise. A small family run hotel with beautiful gardens and pool. The decor and ambience of the hotel was lovely and the staff were friendly, attentive and very helpful. Although booked in for bed and breakfast, we had dinner at the hotel which was very good and great value. The location was quiet but within easy walking distance of the archeological site and museum which were very good and the area around the site was buzzing within activity in the evening.

Villa Rita is run by a superb host who picked us up at the train. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. It is in the country, one km. from the beach, and walking distance to the terrific Greek ruins. We had an amazing three course lunch - the best food in Italy. Loved the whole experience.

We selected Villa Rita from the reviews here at Expedia. It was as good as advertised. The grounds and staff were pristine, for Italy. Rita and her father Luigi were incredible host and hostesses. The food was excellent. The room was nice, as well. This hotel was all that was advertised, and more.

A nice surprise on our Italy trip

Discovering Paestum was an unexpected surprise on our drive from Rome to Sicily. Finding Villa Rita made the visit more memorable. This little inn across from the ruins is a perfect place for an evening's stay. We were greeted by the owner's daughter and immediately felt welcome.

We spent the late afternoon walking through the ruins and then returned to have a lovely dinner in their warm dining room. Sitting before the fire for an aperitif was relaxing and dinner was rather ordinary but it was nice not to go and find a restaurant.

Our room was compact, clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was included and included the usual cold cereals, bread, oranges, jams, coffee and tea.

When going to Paestum, we would not think of staying anywhere else. What a nice memorable surprise.

Happy at Hotel Villa Rita

Really pleased with this hotel. Very attractive lobby, dining room area. Cheerful and tastefully decorated. Our host, Luigi, was charming and helpful. The hotel is a 5-minute walk to the archaeological site we came to see and about a 10-minute walk to the ocean. Our room was clean, quiet and the shower worked well. The ac/heating unit worked quickly and quietly to heat the room (we were there in November). Luigi made us feel like honored guests and regaled us with his tales of life as an innkeeper in a small town in Italy. We really enjoyed our nightcap at the lobby bar because he was such good company. I would recommend this as THE place to stay if you're going to Paestum.

Il posto si presenta incantevole ma il sevizio è deludente.
(in camera il materasso era sporco e al mattino la colazione era scarsa con macchine automatiche per caffè e cappuccino.
Il fagottino ordinato la sera prima era secco e molto piccolo. Siamo andati a fare colazione altrove).

Peccato perché con un po' più di cura la struttura, vicinissima all'area archeologica, meriterebbe veramente 5 stelle!
