Just spent a couple of days in Rome, Piccolo Imperiale was a great pick,the owner met us on arrival and was really helpful,local cafes bars to serve our requirements, hotel was superb rooms immaculate and bed sheets changed daily, would highly recommend to anyone.

It’s a guest house within walking distance to attractions and a few restaurants. It is in a safe and quiet area. The room was clean and basic with tiny bathroom. The a/c took a little longer to cool. It was enough for one night before our flight back home the next day.

This is not an hotel, and there is no full time staff. It’s located in an old office building, with a small floor made into a few rooms. The access was up slippery marble stairs (no handrail) with an adjacent lift that barely fit the bags. The bed was comfy, but room very small, no hooks or rails for towels in bathroom, no shelf or place to put belongings in bathroom. Sink didn’t drain well. One day, a cleaning person mopped those stairs and left them wet (no sign « wet floors » anywhere) so my husband slipped and sprained his ankle. The day we left, we couldn’t get thru the building doors… finally found someone to open… it was underwhelming, and we definitely would not recommend it.

The Air Conditioner unit was set 16c fan was work but was only blowing hot air after an hour I decided to open the window as it was cooler outside. We stayed 5 nights starting May 28 to June 2 an one night on June 26. I had told the staff which reported it to Frederico that the A/C was not working. When I returned on June 26/2024 the Air Conditioner was still not working. But this time it was much hotter than the first 5 nights that we stayed. It was unbearable I had to open the window to cool down the room. Once the room cooled down to the outside temperature. I closed window to get some sleep as I had to get up at 5:30am in the morning for my flight. But at 2:00am in the morning it got so hot that I had to get up and open the window for 1 hour just to cool down the apartment it was cooler outside that it was in the apartment room. Unfortunately my wife refuses to stay there and I can't blame her, as we are already planning another trip next year.

Nothing worked in my room. I recently stayed at the hotel for 4 nights, and I cannot recommend it. The AC was broken and they wouldn't/couldn't fix it. There is no fan either so we were in the hot room for 4 nights. The shower could not drain - water was spilling onto the bathroom floor and the water was still sitting in the shower 6 hrs later. No more than one person could shower in one night! The drainage issue didn't get resolved until the last night of my 4 night stay. Housekeeping didn't replenish the toiletries or toilet paper at all! We ran out of them. There is no front desk. There is a staff person working somewhere in the hotel for part of the day only. Management never said anything/apologized/compensated about all the issues we had. I asked the staff person to tell management and I wrote to management twice but they just ignored me. Stay away from this hotel.

The hotel is in a good location, short distance to the buses to the airport.
There is a Tax, I had to pay there, not sure why. I never encounter to pay extra tax, the Filipino, in charge of the receptionist, very attentive, very nice guy.
They need to have a bigger sign of the hotel hard to find the first time.
The room is very small, and the shower extremely small. Overall, very clean.

It was close to restaurants, bus stop and Vatican. I personally would have preferred to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room, it did have a small fridge but unfortunately ours was broken and we did not see anyone to report it to though we were given an Italian number to Call but we didn’t feel it necessary, also a shortage of plugs as the room only had two and one of those was broken, again we managed. Christopher who served the breakfast was excellent and a credit to the hotel, though we only had one breakfast out of 3... our itinerary unfortunately did not coincide with the breakfast timings but it was plentiful and enjoyable.

the room that I was assigned to was big and nice but there were a lot of broken items in the room. There was a broken refrigerator that fell out when I tried to open the door. The toilet seat cover is broken and the bed kept on squeaking on every little movement I made while I was sleeping. The bed was not a real bed. One of the twin beds was already sagging down.
Positive:
Staff are great, nice and helpful. Tricia and Christopher are very customer oriented and were willing to solve problems promptly. Christopher tried to fix the bed to remove the squeaking sound.

Lovely, modern place to stay. Easy to go to the vatican and city by walk or bus. Only the beds could be a little more comfortable, but that was alright. We had a great stay in Rome and thank the helpful and friendly staff.

Two Nights in Rome

The service was great and the staff was very helpful/accommodating. There were renovations ongoing during our stay so it was a bit loud early in the morning. In terms of locale, it is a 10 minute walk to the Lepanto metro stop. That is convenient for seeing any attractions near the coliseum area. As well, it was a relatively simple 15-20 minute walk or 5 minute taxi ride to The Vatican. The surrounding area is nice and quiet but still has restaurant and bar options.

Excellent hotel/guesthouse - recommended!

This is a very good hotel/guesthouse relatively close to the city centre (15-20min walk to main attractions such as Musei Vaticani or Piazza di Popolo from where you can reach most of other attractions; bus stop is also nearby). All rooms are located on the first floor of the building (there is an old and relatively small lift) and it was very peaceful. The room was air-conditioned and very clean. Staff was very polite and helpful. Good internet. Breakfast could have been better, it is located in a very small room with one table and four chairs only, however it was very pleasant (there might be a problem in case of more people who would like to use the room). A good side is that you can always go inside of this room and use the fridge or get something to eat. In summary, a very pleasant stay - fully recommended!

We were charged 10 Euros for late check-in (which we weren't made aware of until we told them about the arrival time after the booking) and the 1st night, we were given a smaller room and the next day we were transferred to our actual room. Rooms are decent sized and location is perfect near Vatican and Subway stop as well. Bathroom needs a little upgrading. Shower is pretty small and toilet seat was broken.

the room are small, which seems to be the trend in europe, but this was especially small. I stayed in room 4. the window opens to the inside a courtyard with nothing to see. no person on service at night after a certain time.
however I didn't book that last night in Rome and they were able to refer me to another hotel nearby in a short notice. that was very considerate and I am grateful.

I found my stay in the annexe of the Piccolo Imperiale very uncomfortable and did not feel safe. When I chose the hotel I was aware that it had an annexe, however, it does not state that this is an apartment. My room had a lock, however, there is no security or staff to hand should anything have happened. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The description on the website may refer to the guest house but doesn't describe the annexe. The apartment is on a very noisy road (don't expect sleep before 1/2am). The curtains do not close properly, there are no instructions for using the kitchen facilities or checking out etc. When I contacted the hotel during my stay, about the issues , they did not respond. Wholly unhelpful

Great location- a few streets away from Castel S'ant Angelo and 5 minute walk from Vatican City. The guest house is not a hotel- it does not have a manned reception which may put people off, but if you want a good price, great location and quiet nights sleep it's great!

Great on a budget

This hotel has great location very close to the Vatican. It definitely is for the budget minded. If you are looking for luxury, this is not the place for you. Everything in the room was functional and for the price satisfactory. The staff goes out of the way to help. There are only about 5 or 6 rooms and is located on the first floor of a building. Breakfast is self service. By this I mean there is a small nook where prepackaged crusty bread and croissants are available along with jams and drinks. You can actually take what you want when you want and eat in your room. You can even take it for a midnight snack if you with, there is no one around.

Piccolo Imperiale: A big heart and a cosy home

Thank you for 5 wonderful days in Rome. The location was ideal and the neighbourhood was very safe. Not only were we close to Castel Sant'Angelo and the Vatican but three blocks away from some great shopping. Our accommodation was outstanding and very clean. The hospitality from the owners was fantastic. I will highly recommend il Piccolo Imperiale to all my family and friends.

Hotel was more of a guest room hotel than hotel. Not posh but clean, functional and friendly. Excellent value for money and fantastic location. We had a family room and it was cleaned daily. Breakfast is help yourself to drinks and crossants on a tray in your room (no dining room etc.) but you can have this all day long which was good. We had a problem with the air conditioning which dripped water onto the carpet and wasn't fixed during our 3 day stay but did seem that it was being sorted out and they were awaiting a replacement part. I would visit this hotel again as it was a good base.

Great Location/This place is an office building..

This is an office building, half of the building converted into a small hotel. Very small rooms and baths, the heating system did not work, and could not ask for services because there was not staff in the hotel for the whole weekend. I arrived around 18:00 the receptionist/janitorial girl was waiting for me outside worried that I would not make it to the hotel on time because she was ready to go home. After my arrival I got 3 keys and 1 electronic card to get into the building, \"YES\" you need all these keys to be able to get to your room. Ten minutes after my arrival on a Friday the girl said to help my self to the little tiny kitchen for coffee and bread, that was breakfast... and if I had an emergency to call the number from a sign hanging above her desk. The girl left,never saw her again and I stayed there for 3 nights. There was nobody in the building the whole entire weekend except for me and two other guest in a room next to mine. Kind of scary, thank god I didn't have an emergency. On my departure day...Monday morning call a cell phone I got from the hotel business card, a lady answer and said to just drop all the keys on top of desk and make sure to lock doors. I asked her to call me a taxi, waited for 15 minutes never showed up. I walked 2 blocks to be able to get a taxi to airport. Location is great close to the Vatican, restaurants and shops. Would not recommend this hotel.

Great experience!! The room was big plenty of space, the room and br was very clean, the location of the hotel is perfect! short ride from metro station, and walking distance from the bus stops, Luciana was great, it was a smooth and comfortable stay, Luciana was very helpful. Even the other staff, tried their best to give us the best possible experience!! The breakfast can improve as well as add english channel on the tv, other than that , there's nothing really to complain! Love Love Love Piccolo Imperiale, will stay again! highly recommended!

Great stopover

This is the2nd time we have stayed here and both times have been great. The hotel rooms are clean, the facilities are good and the service is friendly. You serve yourself for breakfast but this actually works very well, especially if you have an early start. The location is superb as the Vatican is a short walk away, it's right next to Castell Sant Angelo and is a short walk from Piazza Navona. Best of all, there is a superb enoteca about 200 yards away! Also, the bus stop for Fiumicino is about 50 yards away

MY STAY IN THE PICCOLLO IMPERIALE

It is a small Hotel, but with reasonably good facilities. One point in particular: the self-service Kitchen was open 24 hours a day, so that it was possible to make tea and coffee at all times. I like tea just before going to bed, so it suited me fine. I found the Kitchen well-stocked, with Cereals, Fruit, Yogurt, and Sweet Cake. The 'Piccolo' is very near the Castel san Angelo, one of the great Historic Sites of Rome. It is right beside the Piazza Cavour, named after one of Italy's Founding Fathers.

Great location-ten minutes away from the tube station and walking distance to the Angel & Demon Castle. When we arrived our room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was continental which you can enjoy in your room. When finding the hotel please note it is within a building with other businesses in which confused us a little.

Even though the Manager asked me twice by email when would we arrive , no one was there and the door locked when we arrived to check in. Can you imagine how we felt after traveling for hours from the US? After almost a half hour outside the locked front door, with our luggage in hand, in the sweltering Rome heat, the chamber maid arrived to clean the room (additional wait), and she then checked us in.
We never saw the manager nor the maid in the two days we were there. Nobody checked us out.
There is no place to eat the minimal breakfast provided except back in your room.

Posizione spettacolare vicino a Castel Sant'Angelo e alla Cassazione a due passi da Via del Corso.. personale gentile e cortese.. stanza sufficiente ma tv in una posizione improbabile alta molto alta, con una pulizia appena accettabile, bagno piccolo, doccia piccolissima (per i puffi) water mal messo, nessun appoggio per spazzolino o altro. Coperta del letto di lana di un tempo passato e poco igienico senza copri letto.
Si sente tutto il rumore e le parole che arrivavano dal punto ristoro che era di fronte la stanza. Colazione sufficiente...

El lugar se encuentra adecuadamente aseado. El baño en verdad es pequeño, sobre todo la regadera. Aplican multas si haces el check-in posterior a la hora que tienen señalada. Si buscas un lugar solo para dormir, ese es adecuado.

Ottimo piccolo hotel vicino a Vaticano-Cassazione

Piccolo Hotel/affittacamere situato al primo piano di un elegante palazzo a due passi dalla Cassazione. Comodissimo se si arriva con la navetta da Fiumicino che ferma in v. Crescenzio. Camera gradevole, ben tenuta e abbastanza ampia. Prezzo ragionevole. Proprietario cortese. Colazione in loco, e non al bar, come spesso accade in questo tipo di struttura. Non ha una vera a propria reception, come quasi tutti questi piccoli hotel.

Klima çalışmıyordu, onun dışında bir sorun yoktu. Hava inanılmaz derecede sıcak olmadığı için çok etkilenmemiş olsak da sıcakken çalışmasa ne olurdu bilmiyorum. Ancak bunun dışında bir sorun yoktu. Konum, temizlik vs. iyiydi. Gitmeden önce geleceğiniz saati bildirmeyi unutmayın :)

Bastava un normale controllo prima della consegna

Purtroppo alcuni episodi hanno caratterizzato negativamente il soggiorno (2 notti). Il primo: arrivati, utilizzando i servizi igienici, mi è rimasta in mano la cassetta \"PUCCI\" dello scarico wc. Poi, ci accorgiamo che il lavandino è otturato. Ad onor del vero l'intervento tecnico di ripristino è stato tempestivo ma, di sera, sotto la doccia mi accorgo che pure il piatto-doccia non fa defluire bene l'acqua di scarico (lavarsi con ai piedi l'acqua degli scarichi...). A questo punto, ricontatto il titolare piuttosto arrabbiato ma nonostante la proprietà abbia proposto la nostra ricollocazione in altra struttura a sue spese, abbiamo deciso per evitare lo scomodo trasferimento e di rimanere evitando la doccia al Piccolo Imperiale. Sarebbe stato necessario un maggiore controllo della proprietà prima della consegna della camera per evitare inconvenienti agli ospiti.
