FRAUD!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! We were visiting Morristown for a family wedding. We made our reservations at this hotel in January 2023 and paid by credit card at that time. When we arrived at the hotel, we were informed by the front desk lady that they would not accept the rate that was listed on hotels.com. They said that Econolodge rejected the price and cancelled our reservation. (I had called Econolodge 2 hours before we checked in to confirm our reservation and they confirmed the reservation.) We were offered rooms at a higher rate and would have to pay for them. They did not offer us a refund. I have called Hotels.com and have asked for a refund for the cancellation that the HOTEL did. Hotels.com told us that the manager of Econoloadge would not issue a refund. This place scams people out of money. I'm sure this constitutes FRAUD! They gave us a print out on their stationary that stated that I cancelled the reservation on May 31, 2023 (which is not true.). If I had cancelled the reservation on May 31, 2023, it still would have been before the June 6, 2023, which was the cancellation date without penalty. This is the worst place that we have ever dealt with.

Horrid! Do not stay here

Our room was filthy! Trash still in garbage. Used q-tip in bathroom. Obviously not cleaned. Smoked in when we requested non smoking. Paper thin walls. Barely slept at all due to the filth. Sheets were disheveled underneath the comforter. Showered with shoes on and still felt disgusting after. Absolutely horrid! We thought we could tough it out. We would've been better off sleeping in our car.

First Stay was Better

My wife and I stayed in this motel in 2011 and were satisfied. This stay had disappointing breakfasts and poor maid service. However, after addressing the maid service issue, we were satisfied with the cleanliness of our rooms. There was no internet service.

Nice stay

The room was very clean. The breakfast was just ok. It needed fresh fruit. There wasn't enough parking near entrances but were still plenty overall. The ice machine had a leak so they shut it off at night so there was no ice in mornings. Overall it was a good experience. The problems were minor ones. The fact that the room was clean and cleaned daily were the most important things to me.

i would stay here again.

i got off I-40 and booked this room. It ended up being 21 away from the interstate in Morristown, TN. Guess I didn't't notice that when I booked it. When I got there the place was not at all well lit and it looked empty. The computers were down so they didn't have access to my reservation but booked me in anyway. The room was clean and comfortable. My only complaint was a very noisy air conditioner. It was late. I was tired. I didn't complain. It was 50 bucks.

What I look for when I travel are: a clean room; a comfortable bed; a good breakfast. This hotel met all three expectations. It's a little outdated. If you want more than than a decent hotel room, there are hotels down 11E that will cost you a whole lot more.

We asked for a Non-Smoking room and the room they gave us smelled like cigs and had 2 ashtrays in the room. The price was right for what we needed. Staff was friendly. The location was great. We would stay again...

Is that really a queen size bed?

Hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The room was on the second flood and I had requested a first floor room. Found the room to be nothing great. The reservation said queen size beds but is actually full size. The room looked to be clean.... But after a quick check for bed bugs (none found) and over all cleanliness I found a sock left from a previous guest. No problem just tossed it in the trash. Overall experience.... an inexpensive and quite place to stay.

Ok, I didn't expect this to be the Ritz by any means. That being said, a few things that were quite disappointing. Room was certainly clean. Pillows were like a wad of cotton batten and thin. The towels were very thin and small. \"breakfast\" was a couple of dry cereals, pkg of oatmeal, a waffle maker and they kept one each of mini muffins on the shelf. Afraid we might take 2 I guess. And orange juice. Coffee was not in the same room as breakfast but in lobby. Back door was not security locked.

The room charge was $69 for Thursday night (worth the room) but then jumped to $129 (not worth the room) for Friday & Saturday for race days. This is a hotel that is 12 miles off the interstate and over an hour away from the track.

First room smelt of smoke even thou it was not smoking, second room smelt of mildew, they turn off the thermostat which creates a mildew smell instead of upping the temperature to maintain condition. Was not told no room service daily. had to get towels. 1 night room was wide open as if cleaner was there and left, luckily nothing was missing, next night they serviced the room new towels and made bed, but the cleaner must be a smoker because bathroom smelt of smoke, so no I would not stay there again.

Good service- they called about 15 minutes after we had checked in to make sure that we had everything we needed. I found a spider in the room, but overall the room was old and outdated, but clean. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was a decent size.

INTERESTING EXPERIENCE

Overall, it was a good experience. We are non smokers, and booked a non smoking room and when we checked in, we got put in a smoking room. It was terrible. It reaked of smoke. We had to go back and got an actual non smoking room. The breakfast was OK for being continental.

Door Would Not Lock from Outside

The bathtub stopper didn't work, and there was no way we could lock the door.... Room 252 except the chain and key near the top and only when we were inside.and no microwave in room. We asked for another room, but was told there was not another available. Price was all right, but I would recommend this hotel to a friend with reservations.

Economical - you get what you pay for.

The air conditioning was shut off in the room (for economy purposes, maybe). However, after checking in around 10 pm, it took the ac until 2:30 a.m. to bring the heat of the room down to 78. When I mentioned it to the desk clerk, she didn't even respond. If you're expecting a smorgasbord for the free breakfast, look elsewhere. Other than that, the room was decent size, service was acceptable, convenience of location good.

Woke the night guy up, I think he owns the place too. The whole bottom floor smelled like smoke; I know because I walked it looking for the elevator (Never found one)

I'm pretty sure this guy bought his hotel on eBay.

No elevator, no AC on.

The AC was not on when we got to the room, and the carpet was torn loose from the edge at the Bathroom door. I steped on something very hard, almost stuck in my foot...near rip in the carpet. The room was small, but it served us well...once it got cool. No elevator. and the rest of the hotel was very warm, no AC on at all.

Good Value for The Money

When you travel a lot, and stay in a broad spectrum of hotels, from economy to luxury, it is easy to start using the resort properties as a measure for the economy properties--and that's not very fair.

In this case, the Econo Lodge Morristown was a good property--not great, not a family vacation destination by any stretch, but perfect for those \"we're going to be in the room to shower, sleep, maybe watch some TV in between, and that's about it\" trips. It is an ECONOMY-LODGE, afterall. Low/no frills, but it had free internet, which is more than I can say for the upmarket property I stayed at in a big city, the week before.

The family that runs the hotel seem to live on-premise, and are very attentive (though not intrusive)...even called a few minutes after check-in to see if everything was to our liking (it was). I don't see that in any but the highest of the high in resort/concierge floor accommodations, so it was a nice \"down-home\" touch.

The water pressure was not the greatest, and the bedding was also not as cozy as I would have liked, but overall we were happy with this property, and will use it again when we come to Morristown.

When we arrived at the hotel, no one was in the lobby to greet us. We had to go hunt down a staff member to get service. Then when we finally got checked in and went to our room, there was already some one in that room. After going back and forth with the desk lady and the cleaning lady we finally got a room. We were not impressed with the service.

Econolodge Morristown - Cozy and Friendly

This place was right where I needed it to be, in the middle of nowhere. It was a small, quiet place that didn't seem to have too many customers, but I got the \"small hotel\" treatment! A little while after I got to my room, the front desk called to ask if everything in the room looked okay. I had missed the first call, but that didn't stop them from calling back to make sure I was satisfied! The bed was comfortable and clean, the shower worked perfectly, the continental breakfast was limited but quality, and the snacks in the vending machine were well-stocked! I recommend this place: it was a great deal for the money, though nothing fancy.
