Oasis with a seaview

Lovely stay and the staff were simply amazing. The room was so spacious, bed was amazing and so big and the cot for the baby was perfect.

The room is up a flight of stairs and we had a pram-- staff were very helpful around helping us with bags and stairs.

Hotel is near airport but can't hear anything which made the experience of a late flight in with a baby so much easier.

This is a gorgeous resort and is fairly priced compared to other resorts. Service and staff were very nice. We didn't have the food there as we spent much time by Pantai Cenang. Overall, definitely worth the price.

the hotel was very nice - everyone friendly and efficient. The food became a bit boring after the 3-4th day and the evening waiters seemed very inexperienced and difficult to communicate with and couldnot answer questions. The rest of our stay was excellent. the design of the room to leave a long desk behind the beds and in front of the closets was ingenious and very useful for work. Plenty of electrical plugs, too.

Beautiful Langkawi island

The property is in the nature.
The staff members are very friendly.
Breakfast choices are somewhat limited, but they have plenty of food.
I especially liked fresh Roti and vegetable dali curry.
There are some kinds of bread, rice, fruits, porridge, salad and vegetables.

The internet is very weak, but it looks like throughout Langkawi island, Wifi seems very weak.
It is sufficient to send messages and texts, but not so convenience for videos and uploads heavy files etc...

The Langkawi island is very beautiful, lots of things to see.
We came here with a group of friends and family (16 people in total), and island hopping was excellent activities.

Most of the activities exceeded our expectation.
We really loved the stay here.

The hotel was very disappointing. There was no private beach nor were you aloud to swim. Looked more like a swamp.
Overall friendly but unhelpful staff particularly reception and breakfast area.
Side note; housekeeping and garden staff were very friendly.

Although breakfast is until 10:30. Most of it was already gone by 10 and would not be refilled/ restocked. No variation whatsoever. This was mentioned but not changed.

Pool had absolutely stunning views. Staff were great. DELICIOUS meal at the Al Shallal Restaurant, order the Baba Ganoush!! I'm still drooling thinking about it. Go see Syawal and he will treat you well! Room was styled exactly as pictured, a few stains on rugs, a little damage to our room, but that was from previous guest usage. A little maintenance done to room would've greatly improved the overall appearance. For some reason, at times we could smell sewage coming from the air vents, but that only lasted for minutes. I would definitely return to this hotel. Beautiful location.

Nice Resort near to airport

This is a comfort property to stay with family. The Rooms are spacious and well maintained. You get free parking, good breakfast and restaurant food.
The staff was friendly and makes you comfortable. The pool is nice, gives feeling of infinity pool.
The resort is a bit far from main areas like Cenang but if you rent a car, you can easily reach within 15 mins. Had a good stay.
The property is not too big, but they still offer you a buggy to move around which is good for old folks.
Only thing we didnt't like was we saw a lizard in bathroom. But it was fine otherwise.

Pricy for lousy service & poorly maintained rooms

I've booked 2 rooms, arrived at 3.15pm to check-in, and it took them 45mins to have only ONE room ready, I was with a baby asleep in arms waiting wishfully hoping to have a room within minutes, since it hotel's policy on checking in is from 3pm onwards. The reason they gave was that the housekeeping was still cleaning up the room. Hello, 3pm check-in time, and only one room ready for me at 4pm?!
And it wasn't full house on my days there though.

Secondly, at almost 5pm i get my second room ready, just how disappointing it was to see nest of ants were crawling at the pantry area, hence walked to 2 rooms away to talked to housekeeping staff to come over to the room to clean out the ants. The staff just sprayed some insect repellent, and to my dismay it wasn't pleasant as I was with a baby of 1 year old, I wouldn't want the baby to be in it inhaling the chemicals.

(Thirdly)Hence, we walked all the way to the reception to request for a change of room. We got a new room, and when we went for a shower at night, the water pressure was too small that we couldn't even project it when facing up the shower head. bathed in scarce water supply.
The next morning, I wanted to prepare milk for the baby and to my disappointment again i saw nest of ants crawling all over the pantry area.

Fourthly, went for quick lunch because we missed breakfast due to settling the baby, no room service for food before 12pm, went to hotel's restaurant, took 45mins to get our lunch, only 2 tables of customer

It is nice villa with good view at the sea and plant.
One night, after we came back to the villa and found the door was unlocked at the backyard at the ground floor.
Luckily, our luggage and things were all right.
I advise all doors should be locked at all times when the guests go out.

Good Hotel..but Not so Friendly Staff

We checked into the hotel for a 5 Night 6 Day Trip to Langkawi. The Hotel is near to the airport but away from most of the Attractions. Check-In experience was good. The behavior of the staff was a bit odd, if you ask them for something they would direct you to the location rather than bringing it to you (Specially during breakfast). One day we went out and came back after 4 hours but room was still not cleaned, I asked the Room service and their response was pretty odd . Sir we clean rooms one by one and your room turn has not yet come. They expect us to be out of the room all day I guess! Few days they didn't even fill the toiletries. I booked Mangrove tour with them and in my card statement it was charged 5 times the value of the Tour.

It was the worst stay in my life. I am a person who traveled with my family all around the world, and I have never experienced such a terrible experience like this hotel. Starting from the rooms, they're full of Mosquitos and we found a cockroach under the bed and another one in the toilet, then when we went to the pool to have a swim and relax, I was told by the waiter that I cannot order any alcoholic beverages because it's an Islamic pool. With all my respect for all religions, if you want to make this hotel and its pool an Islamic one, at least label it on hotels.com and the hotel's website, so people like me don't go to this hotel. The staff weren't welcoming at all. I booked there for 4 nights and had to check out after 2 nights because I will not ruin my vacation and my family's vacation for such a disappointed hotel.

So Disappointed I checked out 2 days earlier

My stay was full of disappointments it was bad for me and my kids , cockroaches in the pool and in the bathroom and there is nothing to do in the hotel according to the staff and food was horrible, it was so bad I checked out 2 days before time and lost half of my paid stay because it was not refundable at that stage. Last but not least they are dry hotel no alcohol on the pool so if you are looking for a fun vacation on the beach forget this hotel. And hotel.com should mention that

Overall good but could be better

We waited a long time for check-in and the lady at the reception said she would come to us but others who came after us were served before us. (But that is Malaysia I guess) the waiters and pool staff are quite lazy and are not proactive in serving you drinks or helping you with the setup. The view, especially the infinity pool looking out at the ocean was a picture perfect view but the hotel does not have a beach so inconveniently you have to take a taxi to one. However, they granted us late checkout (1pm) and let us stay by the pool and use the sauna after checkout which was really nice of them.

honestly i went to 4 cities in malaysia and i spend there 16 days 15 nights , in those 4 cities i checked in and stayed at 6 hotels 3 of those hotels were in 1 city (kuala lambur) and the others 3 were in 3 cities ( langkawi , penang , Cameron Highlands

Do not ever plan your stay at this place... although the place isn't terrible it's definitely not worth the price plus it's located too far from the actual buzztown of langkawi. only a very small area of beach is accessible that too is not very clean. The staff is polite but not very friendly. and lastly the food is awful that too with not many options.

Quiet area near the Airport and not far off Cenang

Wanted to spend my birthday alone in a relaxing environment. I throughly got it!

Checked it in late at around 7:30pm, was kindly informed by the reception staff that my original room type had been fully booked, hence she upgraded me. Which was great!

All the staff in the compound were always friendly and curteous.

Overall a great stay, great value for money compared to many of the offerings of similar levels in the area. If you want lots of space and some pampering, this is the place to be. Definitely coming back on my next visit to Pulau Langkawi

Contemporary suite with beautiful views

We chose this resort as I like the suite's contemporary decor and layout but we should have stay near Pantai Cenang Beach. This stretch is full of Hotels, Bars, Resorts, Shops, etc. The Underwater World is also on this beach. Omba Villa's grounds were carefully manicured and was kept quite clean. The room was functional and very comfortable for the two of us, we enjoyed having the large balcony as we can watch sunset from there every evening. The oversize bathroom has both shower and a tub, the only downside was the lighting in the bathroom that is not conducive for ladies trying to put make up on. There were two restaurants but only Bayu (the main dining room) was used by guests primarily as it is more central and it offered more choices on the menu. Our room rate included a daily buffet breakfast, they offer quite a variety of items (western and Malay) which served the hotel guests well. Restaurant staff were helpful and courteous, Jason and the restaurant manager were both friendly and professional. Unfortunately, there weren't too many restaurant choices other than those at the hotel and a few local Indian restaurants within walking distance. In terms of recreation, the only thing available was the swimming pool as the beach at our hotel is not good for swimming. However, we enjoyed beach combing during low tide to see what we could find. All in all, it was a relaxing stay but we could do with less days at this property.

Ombak Villa is located a little further off from the main strip from Pantai Cenang, but we loved the peace and quiet away from the rest of Langkawi. The rooms on the stilt houses were clean and comfortable, and the hotel staff had great customer service despite other reviews I have read. Our only gripe was that there are no other food options close by in the morning (if you have no car, you'd have to walk across the bridge!), making their RM50/person breakfast the only option before early-start tours. We wouldn't have minded it as much if the breakfast buffet was more than measly, but it wasn't.

Overall, great stay, but better if you had a car/scooter!

Pleasant hotel, close to the beach for sunsets.

It would be recommended to rent a car or scooter if you're staying here. Very comfortable Hotel, Spaceous room and very well maintained. Recommend this hotel to couples or family for a getaway. Hotel Staffs were very friendly, they smile/greet when they see you, one of the staff there Sufwan was very keen and helpful in directions and recommendations. Receptionist were very friendly too.

Booked queen suite, very nice room with verandah and beautiful sea view. Friendly staff and effivient buggy service. Near to the airport.

Almost perfect room if not because of the aircon issue. Aircon cannot be fixed due to weekend. After making so much noise they gave us another room to sleep and it was our last night. Hotel should resolve the issue as soonest and not wait till very late.

The overall experience in the hotel was very much disappointing. We request the cleaner to clean our bath tub, unfortunately they didn't clean it properly. One of the day, the cleaner's never lock the door properly after doing their cleaning job. Their negligence is not acceptable as what will happen if our things gone missing and who will be responsible for that. We also made a complain regarding HBO channel is not working in our room. They came to fix it but the next day the channel gone again. The Wi-Fi connection sucks. As for the breakfast especially Malaysian food taste horrible and there is no variety in the food they serving. People who stay more than 3 nights will get bored with the food. My humble request please put a sign to inform that we have to submit the breakfast voucher before eating. Instead most of the staff working in that area will look at you one kind as if we eating there for free even we have submitted the voucher. Some more I noticed a lot of middle east tourist stayed in your hotel and this sign board might help them to understand better. If possible please send your staff for customer service training.

Romantic Gettaway

The venue is very romantic! Our room had a fabulous view of the Lagoon. We only had one meal there and it was fine. It's very close to Cenang. We went everywhere by taxi.

The gym was okay, not very new equipment but satisfactory. The pool was lovely. No one swam in the sea as the Lagoon has Jelly Fish and swimming there is forbidden.

During the months of July and August they have a lot of guest from the Arabian Gulf with their families.

Mid September when we went it was quiet and not full. A beautiful time to go and the weather is lovely.

Getting around Langkawi is easy and we used a taxi for each outing which was very reasonable.

We booked 1 Queen and 1 Single bedded room. So asked for 1 more towel and the housekeeping said we never paid for that. Unpleasant conversation that we paid for Hotel NOT person.

there are 4 different suite or villa there
get the free upgrade from sea village to ombak suite, thanks for free upgrade
the sea village look like very old building

I had booked 4 rooms but check in was delay for last room till 7.30pm. Staff told air con not working. Room was at 3rd level w/out lift. So would recommend for strong and fit adult. Wifi was not good at tt room too and air con not cold at night. Not worth paying that amount for this hotel. Would only gave 3/5.

Lovely resort close to the beach

Me and my family loved our stay at ombak villas. The rooms were very spacious and always kept clean, the staff were all very friendly and the view whilst swimming was amazing.

However there are only a few little things that could have made our stay even better. There was a lack of facilities within the resort and also there was not much of a variety for the breakfast buffet.
Nevertheless if we were to go back to langkawi we will definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel but some feature not available

We stayed for 6 nights in August to attend a conference and have a few days sightseeing. The advertised business centre does not exist and while the staff kindly tried to help me to get a document printed they couldnt get the printers to work - oh well...

We could not get a map of the site so weren't aware till later of some of the other restaurants available to us.

The attention to detail when we ordered food was lacking (eg ordered two drinks but only one arrived; ordered two pieces of toast (my wife was ill) and got six plus porridge cooked in milk).

That said staff were friendly and helpful as best as they could be.

Great view, limited food choices (mainly Malay which I quite like but not great if you have an upset stomach).

One of the Best hotels in Langkawi

It was one of my favorite hotels. So spacious and comfortable and luxurious with the breezing air due to its location right on the beach. If have the chance I would book again in the same hotel. I strongly recommend it. The only thing is that u need a rent car to go the market which is nothing much comparing to the comfort u get in this hotel.

Nice Swimming Pool

Not sure what to expect in Langkawi but although the room is huge and clean I think the suite deco is a bit dated with nails sticking out from the floor board. The air-conditional is also extremely noisy but we can't do without them.
We are also not the most impressed with the very layback/none-organise reception service during check in time and we ended up have to find out way with luggage to our suite as there is only one buggy running with no queuing system to send guests around...
Like most places in Langkawi, the beach is not the best for swimming. We didn't try as it does have a very nice large swimming pool. Just make sure that you order the drinks once you arrive as it took about 30mins each time... when there is no one eating in the restaurant...
Slow wifi.

VERY DISSAPOINTING!

I am a Malaysian, I love my country and I support all the local businesses and LOVE the multi culture society.
The quality of the services is '0', maybe is the Ramadan month so all the employees should take one month paid leave!

Absolutely utterly a disgrace! Maintenance of the Suite Studio sea villa is very bad.
The restaurant staff is 100% unfriendly, no professional skills and 0% manners.

Fairly Good Hotel

We got a free upgrade to the superior suite so the room was big. Impressed with the bathroom (Good big tub) for you to chill in. Location was good if you are driving because it's (1) near the airport, (2) in the middle of the major attractions (i.e. The beach & (3) quiet. However, if you are NOT driving, then you probably would be better off staying near the beach. Loads of flies which also attracts the bats & birds. Not an inconvenience to me (as long as you lock your room to ensure the flies don't get inside) but some people may feel uncomfortable.

Dilapidated, deserted hotel

Start with the good things: we got upgraded to the bungalow villa, which is nice. The studio/suite is spacious and in its golden days must have been a very classy hotel. But the hotel is so poorly maintained that it looks like it is a deserted place, most of the facilities (there is not much to start with) are either out of order or not functioning: one of the two swimming pool is so dirty and filled with stagnant water (with algae and all), no lifeguard on duty, no access to towels. The steam room AND the sauna room are out of order and despite we were being told that they would fix it, it never happened. The kids corner is locked and there is no staff in sight to ask for assistance. The gift shop is never opened; the desk for recreation is never staffed. There is a 'private beach' but also dilapidated that it is almost not useable. There is only 1 restaurant, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We tried the so-called 'buffet dinner' on the first night; the buffet starts at 7:30pm and by 8pm, 50% of the food (and all beverages, including plain iced water) was gone and the staff told us they were not planning to replenish them!!!! We asked and pleaded a few times then a small amount of the type of food/beverage that we had asked for was brought out, but that's about it.
