Not the nicest view from our window, we overlooked the air conditioning units and the bins, advertised as courtyard view on hotels.com!
The hotel however was lovely, room immaculately clean and very comfortable. The restaurant was nice and the food excellent.
The spa was amazing, best massage I’ve ever had.
I would definitely stay again but would probably book the room directly with the hotel next time.

We had a very enjoyable stay. Our room was a refurbished room so was good. Some of the area of the hotel hotel do need refurbishment but we stayed here 3 years ago and they have made a lot of improvements regarding refurbishment since then. Our room was clean, the staff were very nice. Breakfast was very good with everything we wanted and the staff were constantly refreshing the hot food.

We had a room overlooking the canal, so had great views. We didn’t use spa but the main hotel and restaurant was very good and we enjoyed our one night stay. Staff at reception and in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. We didn’t use spa walks along the canal in both directions which were great. Would recommend

I had completed the online check-in process the previous evening, and my booking had been confirmed. This stay was not a routine reservation; it was carefully planned to celebrate my husband’s birthday, for which he had travelled from London. Being informed of the cancellation less than one hour before our arrival is completely unacceptable and has caused significant disruption.

The manner in which this situation has been handled strikes me as highly unprofessional. A cancellation at such short notice, despite prior confirmation and completed check-in, suggests a serious failure in your booking management. It is difficult not to conclude that the hotel may have overbooked and attempted to justify this with an inadequate explanation.

What an absolutely wonderful find. We usually travel Glasgow to Pembrokeshire in a oner, 8.5+ hrs but getting too old now so the lions quay was a fantastic find. Lovely, tranquil canal walks, fab spa facilities and a comfortable pub and restaurant with exceptionally patient and polite staff. Certainly stay again.

My wife and I stayed at the property for 3 nights for a little honeymoon. I messaged to ask the property to let them know we had just been married and asked if they could recommend any nearby activities twice… I was ignored and they didn’t even mention it when we were there. The staff were nice and the room was reasonably clean but unfortunately there were a lot of issues.

We could not use data from our room as we had no signal and the wifi in the room would drop every few minutes so streaming anything or working was impossible. The bathroom was a little rusted and very dated and our toilet flush was broken when we arrived.

The restaurant food was disappointing and we didn’t eat there again after the first night. The pool was a main selling point for us and whilst it is very nice, I had to try 10 different lockers in the changing room to find one without a broken lock. I asked another customer if I was crazy as nothing would work and he said that’s just how it is.

Unfortunately it was mostly disappointing and we wouldn’t stay again.

I booked here for a catch-up with a dear friend. It was nice and clean, but i booked a twin room, but they gave us a double, so that had to be sorted and the basin in the bathroom was severely cracked, so reported that also. Food was just ok, but expensive, plus the drinks also. A small glass of prosecco and a red wine was over £20
Breakfast was plentiful, but the staff on breakfast duty on 24/3 need additional training in customer services

Stayed here for work for 2 nights. Everything was, on the whole, good. Staff were mostly helpful, the restaurant was very nice with good food, the room was nice enough and comfortable.

If I had to ask the hotel to do better on a few things it would be this:

1. The sinks sit on the table in the bathroom, and hard to clean behind, so it looks like the cleaners just don't bother. Desperately needs a deep clean.

2. Doors and windows in my room didn't lock properly. I did report it, but they were still like it when I left.

3. the WiFi is horrendous. I needed to work in my room, but just couldn't. It's better in communal areas, but still not great. If you need WiFi, you might want to look elsewhere.

Being really fussy... conditioner would be good too! I forgot mine, and was abruptly told by reception that there is no conditioner onsite!

There were lots of couples and families here too and all seemed to be having a jolly nice time.

The bed was very soft and dipped in the middle so my husband and I kept rolling into the middle. We mentioned this to the staff and they offered to move our room or to try with a mattress topper. We started with the mattress topper but it was too big for the bed. We noticed the mattress was over 10 yrs old.
The pool is huge and is used by locals as well as guests. Usually more busy in the morning. The steam room did not work and was overall dated and needs a revamp. I noticed all the ventilators l, in the room, in the spa, in the corridors were FULL of dust. The restaurant was good (also needs a deep clean!) the option for breakfast was good and you have the option to request vegi option. Also noticed cobwebs near the lights and the windows walking into the restaurant was full of finger prints. The table was sticky.
Staff were very helpful in all areas, the pool opening times are long, which is nice when you want to relax in the evening. It’s about a 3 min walk from the hotel.
Overall the hotel is nice but looks like it has been neglected quite a bit.

There was dust on the fan in the bathroom, but other than that the room was clean, tidy and comfortable. The breakfast was great with a good selection and everything being checked for refills regularly. The staff were great, friendly and helpful from check in, the bar to breakfast. Tiles missing out of the steam room, only noticed as it wasn’t working, not one shower in the spa area working, had to go into changing rooms to shower down after sauna etc. water fountain not working. Changing rooms not much better, locker had key code locking, difficult to find one that actually worked, hair drier not working either. Such a shame it’s being run down as could be stunning.

I stayed here for work. 1st night, the room was clean but quite basic. I got woken up at 12.15 am by a group of drunken men who didn’t stop with their noise until 5 am. I told reception the next day and they moved me to a much better and quieter room the next day. Food was excellent in the restaurant. I didn’t try the spa. Staff very welcoming.

Had a lovely stay at this hotel the room was spotless and staff were great, breakfast was also very good as much as you could eat and all fresh and hot.
The facilities are also great, pool was warm and we made good use of the sauna and jacuzzi all our towels were provided fresh and clean, however I couldn't find a working locker in the changing rooms and another customer told me that was a common issue.
We booked two evenings at the waterside restaurant which is part of the hotel but a separate building, the first evening we had crispy chilli chicken and although very pleasant we felt the portions were very small however on our second visit we had the beef burger with fries and we can definitely recommend it very tasty and more than enough to fill a hungry traveller. Unfortunately on a down side the furniture let it down there were stained chairs throughout the restaurant and that was a shame it lowered the experience of our evening. Also unfortunately we were surprised to find it was card only payments but after a little negotiation we managed to pay by cash although we were told we could not have any change from our bill and that's worth remembering if you like us wanted to pay the old fashioned way.

We stopped here about 4 years ago. It was tired then but it was clean, the staff were friendly and the food was fantastic.
We often stop at Oswestry on our way to visit family in Powys. We Will not be stopping here again!
On arrival the receptionist was \"busy\" chatting with her colleagues in the office opposite. Despite being aware we were there she still didn't come to check us in for at least 5 minutes. Just the welcome you want after a long drive and needing toilet extra.
We asked for a quiet room and despite this we were given 224 on the fist floor in the middle of the corridor with rooms above and below and the balcony door didn't shut properly so you could here traffic from the main road all night as well as all the other guests coming and going slamming doors dropping toilet seats coughing and anything else people get up to in hotel rooms.
The bedding was clean but other than that the room was filthy. Thick dust down sides and under furniture, black mold in shower and on shower head marks all over paintwork and I would have required gloves if I needed to pick up the phone.
We went to the restaurant for our evening meal and after spending £100 on mediocre food and fairly bland service we left to return to the room. We asked at reception on the way back if we could have a late check out (as they had given us one on our previous visit) she said yes for £25 for 2 hours....we declined, and with all the noise we were glad we did.
We went to lukewarm breakfast. Not good!

Stayed here for a Valentine’s night away. Overall a good stay, just a few things that could be improved. Checked in and was given the wrong room, went back down to reception and was told they’d checked us into a different room, and lucky that nobody was in there!!! Gave us the correct room and it was pleasant, however there was a ladybug infestation, around 20-30 on the doors/curtains!!! Took us a while to get them all out, but after an hour swimming, came back to the room finding more had come in, and flying round the room, think that needs to be looked at, room 305.

The first night was lovely and put us in the mind set that we were going to have a brilliant stay.
Al most of the staff were really good there was one or two that didn't have amazing costmer service and found it but a little bit of a downer on are stay.

A smile and a helping hand means a lot and just how something is said can make so much of a difference.

And its not fair on all the other staff that are doing an amazing job to be put down by one or tow bad eggs.

The place is very pretty and an a good place to go.

The room was clean, the pool area was lovely. But of advice, if you are fussy with pillows, take your own! Theirs were as flat as pancakes! We booked a canal view but didnt get one. The hotel wouldnt do anything the next morning as we hadnt said anything the previous night. I explained it was dark! My issue was, we booked and paid extra for a canal view and they knew we hadnt had one..so surely they should see that as their mistake.
The pool area was really nice and relaxing, cant fault it. The communal toilets could have done with a good clean! All in all a nice stay

Food was good, varied menu. Afternoon and evening menu was goid. Breakfast had plenty of variations and was self-service. ( Even people in PJ's getting food)
Tables not cleaned properly,they felt sticky. Furniture was in a poor state, dirty chairs, however there did seem to be some newish ones, but we were unfortunately given a table with dirty chairs.
The bedroom was below average, bed base was sticking out on the one side and not clipped together, marks on the wall, I'm not sure if they are being decorated but the paint work was patchy with blue showing through the lighter top coat.
Dusty lamp shades .. unfortunately the housekeeping or the accommodation was not up to a 4* rating.
Very disappointed.

The room was clean, modern, and comfortable. The shower was excellent, and really appreciated the heated towel rack. We also had a pleasant experience at the bar, and the breakfast was very good—especially as they were able to accommodate my gluten-free requirements.

The only downside was that the corridors felt a bit outdated, and noise carried quite easily. We could hear activity from both the hallway and the neighbouring room.
