Too bad.... The location, food and staff were great, but our room smelled of cat pee!

They tried to cover it up with air freshners, which had us fooled the first night, but by the time we returned from our day tour the next day, the bathroom in our room smelt so bad, we had to keep the door closed and remove all of our things. We had to brush our teeth in the main room, and hold our breath to use the toilet!

When we complained about this, they did not offer an acceptable resolution or compensate us in any way for the inconvenience. This lack of attention to the client experience, especially given that this is a health concern for anyone staying in these conditions, was unacceptable.

Beautiful yoga shala & great classes. Small pool. Directly on beach but really muddy low tide and not much walkable options. However, good food & nice staff so didn’t need to go far. Outdoor shower was cute but the AC poor, bed was not comfortable, and room didn’t have windows.

Room 78 had AC that was not working properly and the ceiling fan sounded like a truck that was about to lose an engine. The receptionist did not want to move me and the \"engineer\" had to come a fiddle with everything. It was an unnecessary, time consuming, and unfriendly process. But, they decided to move me to room 70 which was perfect. The only hot water in all the rooms is in the shower. The sinks have only tepid cold water. The food is top notch and the beach views are excellent while dining. I don't recommend walking on the beach because there is a lot of broken glass in the sand. Thai people told me that they would not swim in the water. Nice to look at but go to another beach to swim.

Loved the hotel. We had a suite that was on the beach. We were able to sit on the patio and watch the sunrise. One night the hotel did a Thanksgiving dinner. We are from the US so we really enjoyed it. The location is a little off the beaten path (the west coast) but we enjoyed the peace and quiet. They have a very nice pool area that is a step away from the beach.

The hotel was lovely, great pool, friendly and helpful staff. I had a beach front room which was lovely but on arrival the air conditioning wasn’t working and as I arrived in the evening there was no one who could get it working. The staff arranged another room for me and gave me a complimentary Massge but it was disappointing. The beach here is not a swimming beach and it was well away from rawai so not much to do apart from hang out at the pool and use the health spa

This is a nice hotel in Phuket’s south with a beautiful beach view. We enjoyed the delicious complimentary breakfast and the evening live music by the pool. The rooms were extremely spacious and clean. However, there was no WIFI connection in our room, and the amenities were quite dated. The shower was comprised of a shower head sticking out of the wall, our safe didn’t work, the bathroom lighting was very poor, and finally there was a strange stale smell when we first checked in. This hotel was in a relatively quiet pocket of Phuket, however, it was at least a 40 minute drive to reach any notable destination. Which I wish we fully considered before booking.

This property is in a stunning location on the beach just outside Rawai. We did not have transport and that was an issue as the property was on an extremely busy road and miles from anywhere in every direction. After the first night attempting to walk to Rawai unsuccessfully we used taxis throughout, some turned up some didn’t as the place is out of the way a little. With transport I’m sure this would not have been a problem. The pool, beach, bar and staff were great. The standard room that we chose was not so good as described in previous customer reviews. I’ve stayed at remote locations before and there has always been a curtesy bus service to the local town, I think this would go down well if introduced ( just add it to the cost of the room). I’ve given 3 due to the above as we did like the resort overall. I hope the comments are taken in the spirit intended as I think a few tweaks will make significant difference to the overall experience.

We walked in and walked back out, as the property was unclean and potentially unsafe. Dust, stained sheets and stained walls. Nothing like advertised. Spa? Joke.

We contacted Expedia straight away and told them we were leaving and were promised that we would be contacted the next day via email as they were unable to contact the hotel that night. We booked accommodation as a consequence of being told that we should.

We were not emailed and the hotel was not contacted. We went back to check six days later to be told there had been no contact.

We have made a formal complaint with Expedia. We were left without accommodation that night until we found one of the very few hotels (our family had to stay in two different rooms in different blocks with in the hotel for one night before finding a wonderful place called Rawai VIP Villas (staff were great and good value for families with children - would highly recommend). Our children did not eat until midnight and even then all I could find was microwave pizza.

We were so lucky. Instead of losing only one day we could have lost half our holiday (after travelling from Krabi - which again was lovely and good value for money).

For the short while we were there we had to get an engineer to check air con due to smell and a towel being wrapped around a joint on it, only to be told that it was a wet moulding towel causing the smell. Doesn't that say it all?

Great stay!! We spent 10 days here and loved every minute of it. The grounds are peaceful and clean. The resort is located right on the beach and there’s plenty of space to find a peaceful spot. The food from the restaurant was great. The breakfast included was almost served fresh and hot. The service is fantastic. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating, they’ll always try their best to help with any of your need.

I liked the smallness of the place and the friendliness of the staff. I didn't like having to ask for coffee and sugar to be replenished on most days for my room.
The location is quiet and by the beach but if you don't wish to rent a vehicle then you are a bit isolated. The local bus service is very erratic. Fortunately there are a few shops local which served my needs and a market across the main road a few times weekly.

Upon arrival we were a bit disappointed as the sea was out and it did not look like the picturesque photos we had seen. This is not a 4 or 5* corporate hotel belonging to the big chains but it had its own distinct feel to it that made it feel like a real holiday paradise. The room was spacious and quirky with the bamboo style ceiling and outdoor shower. The electric shower was in fact the only negative thing as the power was not great but sufficient. The room was clean and comfortable. The quirkiness continued in the outdoor area with the ornate Thai sculptures and pictures. The pool and the view was nice during the day. The table service breakfast made a nice change to buffet’s that seem to be the norm nowadays, although I have to say the portions were on the small side. This hotel seemed to cater for small groups of fitness clients and there was a small gym. The location is not the greatest with the beach offering nothing and a little sore on the feet with the small shells, but it was lovely to stroll on with appropriate foot ware. It’s also a 2 min walk from a busy main road, although you would not know it from inside the hotel. There is nothing of note there except for a couple of bar/restaurants and a convenience store. If you walk up to the main road and turn left, walk about 50m, you’ll come across a delightful street food restaurant. It’s a shame there is no shuttle service to nearby towns as it cost us 300 baht from the port 3km away. Overall it was almost perfect

This resort suited me down to the ground. The accommodation varies. Our 2 bed suite was big with a separate tv lounge one double en suite and a smaller double. There was a separate bathroom. A full kitchen would allow self catering. Two gas rings large fridge freezer microwave and pans. There is also a large 6 seat table in the main area.
The housekeeping was excellent.
Downside room 22 above kitchen so 07.00 start with some noise. On first floor could cause accessibility issue. No balcony.

This is a tropical paradise. Very beautiful! The rooms could have better soundproofing as birds start chirping loud around 4:30am and cats like to jump all over the roofs. I would have enjoyed access to kayaks or paddle boards. The restaurant has good menu at reasonable prices however beverages are over priced, 120 baht for a coconut! Other then that its simply beautiful and the staff are very friendly. Loved it!

Friendship resort did not disappoint. We had a lovely stay there. We loved the small resort feeling and the food at the restaurant was delicious. Comfortable and clean accommodation. Spacious deluxe room with ample toiletries, water & fresh towels etc.
Lovely pool and bar area to relax in . You can swim in the sea when tide is in, and enjoy a walk along when tide is out . Very quiet at night , away from road . Breakfast fresh and plentiful. Staff fine , apart from evening receptionist who wasn't particularly welcoming or helpful . Would recommend staying here though . Nice restaurant nearly opposite entrance called Nang Naan for local food . Hotel restaurant expensive, but lovely view by the sea

The room was lovely and the price couldn't be beat for having beach access! Great views... the restaurant was very expensive and only so-so. Location was decent, but rather far from many of the popular destinations. Hard to communicate with the front desk plus. limited hours. Also, I didn't like the tours they were trying to sell from various vendors.... many of them were part of scam tourist agencies, overpriced and allowed for unethical tourism!! For a resort that is boasting eco-friendly, wellness center it's sad they promote tourism that is bad for Thailand.

Perfect quiet spot for a family holiday

We chose this hotel because of it's location away from the busier parts of Phuket. It was the perfect relaxation spot for us. The room we had was fantastic, it overlooked the pool and restaurant area and out to the beach. The restaurant was outstanding and offered a great selection including healthy options, extensive Thai and Western dishes. I used the gym facilities which were brilliant and had a large range of equipment to chose from. I would definitely stay here again.

We chose this hotel for the last few nights of our holiday around Thailand and am so glad that we did! The hotel is very secluded and whilst we were there, certainly very quiet, not too many people milling around. The room was excellent, cleaned daily and we don't have any complaints about the accommodation at all. You can expect to pay a little bit more here for your drinks and food but it is worth it.

Very pleasant hotel, but the Wotif map was misleading. Rather than about 1.5 kilometers from the Old Town the resort is 13 kilometres away (luckily there are plenty of motor scooters available for hire). Breakfast and pool were fine, though the 'a la carte menu' seriously overpriced.

Our goal was to stay in small, simple, quiet, beach side resort and this definitely checked all the boxes. Great staff & well appointed facility. Pool, beach and food also great. Wellness facility on site offering detox cleanse, yoga, meditation and massage for reasonable cost. We stayed in the beachfront deluxe room with s covered porch overlooking the beach and neighboring islands. Very nice.

Everything was really great until the last day (Sunday) when there was a large group of poorly behaved, unattended children taking over the pool. Throwing balls which led to knocking drinks & things over, yelling, splashing, etc. the parents were nowhere to be found or at least not paying attention to the children if they were close. I don't think of screaming children and a wellness retreat in the same sentence.

The resort was quite a walk from Rawai Beach, but it being right by the beach and with its own restaurant I found it perfect for my stay! The pool area was beautiful, and rooms very big and comfortable. Would highly recommend it!

Absolutely fantastic hotel, literally ON the beach. Very nice staff. Rooms are big and clean, with a outdoor (Bali style) shower. Breakfast is included and is very good with many options, and you have the beautiful ocean view while eating. The hotel itself is beautiful, featuring a cute little Khoi pond and large nice pool with waterfall, and a fitness center. Right next to Kitesurfing center offering lessons and equipment rentals. Will strongly consider coming back to this specific location for my next Thailand vacation.

Relaxed atmosphere, but be prepared to move rooms.

When we arrived we was informed that we had booked for six days rather than the fifteen. This was soon sorted out, but it meant that we had to change rooms three times during our stay to accommodate us for our duration of stay. For this we were given five complimentary massages (one for each of our party), realistically when travelling with children this inconvenience is not what you need, nor are massages.
The rooms are spacious and reasonably equipped and the hotel staff are personal and friendly.
The hotel in general has a nice relaxed atmosphere and is set away from the hustle and bustle of Phuket life.
As this hotel was booked at very short notice due to the insolvency of our previous agent, we were pleasantly surprised with it.
Our experience with the room moving did not seem to be uncommon during our stay because you would see other people moving rooms everyday.
The other thing is. When you order food or drink from the bar, whether you collect it or it is brought to you a 10% service charge is added.
If you order a Taxi from the hotel then the Hotel put a commission on it. There is a local smart phone app called GRAB, which is very similar to uber to order taxi's by and are usually 30% cheaper than ordering from the hotel.

Beach resort for relaxation

Friendship beach is perfect for those who just want to relax. The wellness section offers several types of massages at a reasonable price (starting from 707 baht with tax and service charge for 50min). The restaurant has a wide range of dishes with international foods as well as delicious thai classics, smoothies and healthy options, all reasonably priced (dinner, depending on what you eat, was around 500 baht/person), and big portions. Breakfast selection OK and plenty.
The staff was always very friendly and helpful.
Nice garden with pool and sunbeds. Beach is just one minute from room, though not much to see at low tide.
Gym is quite well equipped.
Despite the low season the weather was OK with a few rainy days only, otherwise nice beach weather (I was there at the end of July - beginning of August). There were quite a lot of families with smaller children.

If you are looking for vivid nightlife and nearby shopping possibilities this is not that hotel, but was perfect for relaxation.

Suitable For A Short-Term Stay, Nothing More

The best way to describe the hotel is 'off the radar'. There's not much to do on the property except swim, eat at the restaurant, exercise or go to the spa. Oh, there is music on Fridays, if that's your thing. The pool is amazing, the restaurant serves good food with happy staff and a lot of options from healthy foods to American favorites. The gym is quite small and has under 10 pieces of equipment - so one can run into the challenge of all the equipment being in use. The spa was disappointing. It's way overpriced for Thailand and condition of the facility. This was a first for me -receiving a spa treatment in a room full of mosquitos!

The room I stayed in was not clean and I was skeptical to sleep on the bedsheets. The bedsheets had stains, the bathroom had hair around the sink and the tables had smudges. I feel the room was nice and spacious, but the negative aspects were the focus during my stay. The check-in/check-out staff can be better, but they are helpful. What was odd to me, they asked me far too many times what time I was going to check out. And when I did check-out (on time), the front desk woman cheered. Seriously.

The hotel is good for a short term stay. I wouldn't stay any longer - there are far better places to stay that's cheaper, have better service and is cleaner in Phuket.

We had a wonderful stay at the Friendship resort, we were upgraded to a suite which was fantastic. The pool area and hotel grounds were very well kept and authentic to Thailand. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was exceptional for both breakfast and lunch/dinner. The only negative was that you had to use taxis to get about as there was no bars or restaurants in the area. The beach was not suitable for sunbathing or swimming.

Nice calm atmosphere. Pool is gorgeous but small. Beach is not kept. Room was clean but the mosquitos were terrible to the point the hotel provides mosquito spray. The showers and sometimes the toilet is outside.
The restaurant is expensive which is shocking because it's Thailand and it's the only restaurant in this small resort.
It's quaint enough. The spa was nice but hard to book as it fills up quickly.

Bliss and serenity at Friendship beach

Friendship Beach resort and atmanjai wellness centre was Ana amazing experience. If you seek peace and serenity at a peaceful beach away from the crazy beach crowds that popular tourist spot Patong beach in Phuket has Friendship beach resort has it. It's right next to the beach and you can feel pamapered by the polite and amazing staff.
The rooms are beautifully furnished and there are lots of space as they are like apartments where there is a kitchenette area for cooking your own meals should you choose to. The rooms may not be as luxurious or modern as those more expensive resorts but they are clean and very comfortable and gives you lots of space especially wardrobe space to put your clothes in.
The Cafe at Friendship beach resort also serves amazing delectable food for those health conscious. They serve normal food or 'raw' healthy food. Delicious dishes like raw zucchini pasta with pesto and cashew cheese sauce to Pad Thai where instead of normal noodles you have strips of papaya in replacement if you're watching your carbs intake.
Next to Friendship beach resort rooms is the Atmanjai wellness resort where you can do their detox programs, participate in their early morning yoga sessions, pamper yourself with their massage or facial cleansing programs or their fitness programs where lovely trained instructors are there to take good care of you.

Overall it's a very reasonable priced resort, I recommend it if you're looking for peace and quiet in Phuket

Relax and learn to be healthy

We stayed 4 nights at the hotel. Service level was good as staff there are friendly and responsive. Other than the location which is some distance from the usual tourists area like Patong, its a good relaxing place. We attended a 3-day eat well program at Atmanjai and that is an interesting experience. Recommended for those who want to learn how to develop a healthy diet and body.

I f you get a deluxe beach front , you will tottaly enjoy the water at your feet , staff , food room all fantastic, i stayed just at the start of low season nothing ever to much trouble, and i wasnt there for de - tox

My 4 week stay.

The hotel was exactly what I wanted.....small, comfortable and friendly......on the beach, with a lovely pool, sometimes busy and at other times peaceful and quiet (a lovely combination).

Hotel on the beach with garden and swimming pool

Very good hotel , nice garden, swimming pool area. Room are spaciuos and clean. We like it very much. Stuff is very helpful and friendly.
Location is a bit far from restaurants and atractions
I definetly recommend this hotel

Beach Front Hotel with good service

The place is located in the beach front but water is not too clean with a little of trashes around the area.
The room is clean, big and the staffs are nice and helpful. The swimming is nice and clean. The hotel is located in a quite area but not too far from Rawai where all the family seafood restaurants, cafe and massage reside.

Enjoyed our stay at friendship

Our villa on the beach was awesome !
Would stay there again .. The breakfast wasnt that exciting but the lunch and dinner meals we had were delisious .. We were able to have friends and family come and visit and use the pool which was very welcomed and appreciated

service was poor tables left with dirty dishes for long times,we were at bar drinking with few other people present at about 10pm we ask for drink told bar closed so we got our own alcohol from room and sat outside noticed others at bar being served . It rained heavily one day and our rooms flooded and dirt from pot plant in outdoor shower was every where, shower broke twice and other issue with breakfast booked for 7 got breakfast for 5 ? . the only shining light was DARLING cant think of thai name been there for years makes it pleasurable when she is there things go smoothly when the cats away the MICE will play open your eyes Star

Nice if you want peace and quiet

It was a nice small hotel and the food was above average. Rawai is away from the main action and beachs so if that what you are after i'd stay in one of the main areas (for me Kata family friendly and still losts of shops and very nice beach) but if you want crazy noise and nightlife the stay at Patong.

Dejligt sted med gode værelser. Vi havde en lejlighed lige ud til poolen.

Stranden er ikke god, så vi brugte poolen. Vi så ikke ret mange bruge stranden.

Omkring hotellet er der ikke noget at lave, men det var let at få en taxi med Bolt app’en og så var man hurtigt på tur.

Lite mysigt hotell i härlig omgivning. Personalen va mycket trevlig arr service minded. Stranden som hotellet låg vid va inte badvänlig pga sumpig botten. Men den va ok att ligga o sola vid. Rummet vi bodde i va fint men det va bara sovrummet som hade ac. Frukost som ingick va kanon, beställdes från menu och utbudet va bra. Poolområdet va lagom för hotellet och det va lugnt o sjönt kring poolen med dennfina utsikten mot havet. Vi tog en bolt varje dag för att åka till Kata beach tog ca 1520 min kostade mellan 220-400 bath beroende oå tillgänglighet och tid. Det fanns inte jätte mycket restauranger nära hotellet utan det va antingen vid rwai pier eller vid kata som hade bäst utbud. Middagen på hotellet va ok, lite smaklös även om man beställde spicy.

Really good resort for the price.

Our room was pretty big and was equipped with everything you could need (big fridge, microwave, water cooker, smart tv, locker). The staff was always very helpful and polite. The pool is amazing, which is nice because you cant really swim in the sea because the water is really shallow for a long distance from the shore. The view from the resort across the sea is also really nice. The restaurant and breakfast were amazing too (free main dish, juice and coffee for breakfast). The only downside of staying here is the distance to Phuket town or other tourist places, but that’s something you know before you book so its not really a problem.

All in all we can only recommend the resort and will definitely come back if we can!

Vorab wir waren dort in der NEBENSAISON (Juli):
Die Anlage ist gut aufgeteilt, sauber und schön. Nachts ist es dort ruhig.
Das Pool ist sehr gepflegt, sauber und schön.
Die Zimmer sind in Ordnung, aber nichts besonderes. Es könnte etwas sauberer sein. Wir hatten keine Fenster in den Schlafzimmern, nur Glasfliesen für das Licht.
Die Lage direkt am Meer ist schön...das Meer ist türkis. Der Strand ist leider nicht besonders gut gepflegt - Scherben lagen herum - unbedingt Schuhe anziehen! Aber sehr schön zum Anschauen 😉 wir haben die meiste Zeit am Pool verbracht.
Das Personal war freundlich und bemüht! Alles in allem eine schöne Anlage!

O resort é incrível e muito bonito. Diria que ideal para tirar uns dias para simples relaxar e não sair dele pois tudo fica um pouco distante, mas a piscina e todo o ambiente em volta trás muita paz e é ideal para quem quer relaxar e recarregar as energias. O staff é bem atencioso e educado, falam inglês e fui muito bem atendida. Não tenho nada que reclamar.

Dejligt lille hyggeligt hotel

Fantastisk lille hyggeligt hotel ud til havet. Dejlig pool, dejlig restaurant og venligt personale. Vi havde 4 overnatninger i december 2024 og kunne sagtens have blevet der i længere tid. Rigtig dejlig dejlig oplevelse for 2 voksne og 2 børn på 2 og 3.

Séjour agréable pour une nuit seulement.
Personnel pas tous très agréable.
Confort moyen et propreté correct. Petit déjeuner moyen et peu de choix et pas de grande qualité.
