I didn't see the pool- I was short on time.
I've stayed in Bowral previously, The Sebel was definitely the best value accomodation that I've experienced.
The room was extremely comfortable and beautifully furnished.
I'll be happy to stay there next time.

It was excellent stay!!! The room was large and clean, with a big bed, table, couch and kitchenette. The location waa convenient and close to the main street, also parking was easy. Filtered was provided from the tap, and excellent amenities. Nothing to complain about, we really enjoyed the stay.

Nice place to stair but the stairs are ridiculus

Room was comfortable. Not having parking at the reception was odd. The number of stairs required to navigate was ridiculous. We were aware there was no lift and were prepared to walk up stairs to the second floor but after we got onto the second floor there was three more sets of stairs for what seemed for no reason.

I suggest a ramp running through the garden to end of building with connections to the various levels would be a better solution than terracing the walkway with stairs.

Not the experience I was hoping for
Be warned: if you’re not given a ground floor room, expect to haul your luggage up two full flights of stairs, plus a few extra sets of steps. There’s no lift, which made arrival a real hassle.

Check-in was frustratingly slow as my Expedia booking didn’t appear in the hotel’s system, and once I finally got into the room, I realised no Wi-Fi code had been provided. Reception closes early, and to make things worse, I had no phone signal and the in-room phone didn’t work, so I was completely cut off.

This was especially distressing as a cyclone was hitting back home in QLD, and I had no way to stay in touch overnight. Not ideal at all.

The whole place felt more like a random apartment complex tucked inside a retirement village than a proper hotel. Very odd atmosphere overall.

Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re prepared for the lack of basic connectivity and support.

5-10 minute walk into Bowral, no need to use car. Also, 1hr walk to nearest winery in case you don't want to do a tour. For eats & drinks, definitely go next door to Berida Hotel, excellent restaurant and top whisky bar.

A lot of money for unhygenic facilities

The Sebel was more expensive than I normally pay. Therefore, I was very disappointed & shocked when I found dirty & unhygenic conditions. A pair of cooking scissors I used to cut my milk carton had most of the blade covered in old baked-on food which took ages to scrub off. Unfortunately I didn't see the baked on food until after I had used the scissors. 2days later I felt ill. The cutlery drawer had food crumbs, the forks were greasy, so I ate with a disposable fork I had. The carpet had several brown stains including one lge one that was half the size of a small plate. Cake or biscuit pieces were on the carpet. The glass doors had very visible smears. Important phone calls dropped out due to no reception. I couldn't turn the light dimmer off so had to sleep with lights on. Back door locks facing a main road were flimsy & I didn't feel secure, kept hearing strange noises, & didn't sleep much. I had difficulty using the key card - tried 4-5 times before it opened. On top of conditions that you would expect to find in a cheap motel, guests had to take out garbage. I am not usually a complainer, but this was worst hotel experience for a very very long time.

Beautiful property, great kitchen and bathrooms, comfy bed, newly renovated. Pool was lovely. Gardens and property wonderfully cared for. Gym was the only let down. Needs some free weights and resistance machines need repair. Would stay again but bring your own weights for a workout.

The room was grubby and the Bathroom Tap leaked. We had an issue whereby the cleaner did not shut the Bathroom and Toilet windows before attempting to wash down the outside shutters over those windows. Everything got wet inside the bathroom and toilet area in front of those windows.

Disappointed & lack of basics

The hotel is at the back of a housing estate of townhouses. I think it’s usually timeshare as the receptionist was surprised to see someone book who wasn’t part of ‘the club.’
The hotel is of poor design with lots of stairs & no lift. The apartments were of a high standard but didn’t contain any of the usual information you’d expect, ie where to find the complex’s pool, this btw closes at 5pm! You need special towels to use it, that weren’t in the room & there’s only a toilet cubicle to change in when you get there. Certainly not the 4.5stars
The hotel around the corner to the right, was great to dine in.

Absolute ripoff! Paid over $500 per night and couldn’t even get towels or coat hangers! The room was like a display home, empty cupboards and literally nothing there. For that price, I would at least expect a mini bar and a full compliment of accessories. Told the manager we had no towels when we checked in and had to shower with hand towels. Apologised and said he’d organise them to be put there and didn’t. For a Sebel property, I’d expect a lot better. Never again.

Our room was a good size but it could get quite noisy..The corridor was just outside the bathroom & near to the bedroom in these rooms & it was very busy & noisy up & down the corridor. Therefore you could get disturbed during the night by people going back & forth to their rooms.
We stayed for 4 nights & due to Covid, there was no servicing or cleaning of the room, which was fine but it was written in the book that if we needed anything replaced, eg towels, coffee, milk etc, we would have to pay for it. On arrival, our fridge temperature was quite warm, the milk inside had a use by date for the following day & it was off.
Also please be aware that the reception in unmanned & locked from 11am to 2pm

For two nights accommodation for two people, only two towels were supplied. With cold conditions and no towel warmer, I found that insufficient.
The Manager was late onsite checking in and the process took 45 mins to get a key. Unacceptable.
Cleaners had left strange things in the room like former guests fridge products. Other people’s hair was found in the bathroom.
It was expensive, which I accept for the current Covid weekend conditions but considering the experience- I wouldn’t return. Disappointing.

We booked last minute for a trip to visit family who live in the area. Hotel was fully booked for to easing COVID restrictions and a long weekend.
We were lucky enough to get the last room .... at a very expensive rate!

We arrived at 2pm, with half an hour to get dressed and ready to be collected by private bus and taken, along with other wedding guests, to a wedding. There was a bit of a delay at reception (only one receptionist on), eventually given room keys which was a drive, not a walk away, (about 400 meters from reception). Dashed into our room start ripping open luggage to get our wedding attire out and hubby opened double doors to the bedroom only to find it hadn’t been cleaned since previous guests. Rang reception, they directed us to a different room and offered to meet us there with keys, so we scrambled to get our gear together again and move to a room one floor up. Waited there for 10 mins for new keys to arrive by which time it was now too late for us to join the other wedding guests on the bus (which was scheduled to collect us at 2:30pm), which meant we had to drive ourselves to the wedding venue and ensure one of us stayed sober to drive back to The Sebel (a bit of a fizzer really). The receptionist acted like she could care less that we were given a dirty room, had to move, and as a result miss our transport to the wedding.
When we returned from the wedding we drove back to the car park nearest our apartment only to find there were no spots available, exact same thing happened the second night, so we had to park back up at reception and walk the 400m back to our apartment (not fun in the rain whilst wearing heels, neither of which were The Sebel’s fault). Disappointing!

My husband and I arrived 4 minutes ahead of the designated check in time of 2pm, to find the office closed with a note taped to the door with a phone number to call if left unattended. We gave the manager a couple of minutes to arrive, before ringing the number provided which went through to voicemail. I left a message and then we continued to wait outside a locked office for a further 15 or so minutes before a disheveled and clearly irritated manager appeared. He proceeded to complain to us about the lack of staff available, the work he had to do around the property and made us feel as though we were interrupting the work he was doing (fixing a shower) to check in to our room. He also did not apologize for keeping us waiting.
When we entered the room, we found the decor tired, dirty wine glasses, some mould around the bath tub and hairs on the bed sheets and in the bath tub.
I would not book this hotel again.

A beautiful relaxing stay

Beautifully appointed, spacious one bedroom apartment with a well stocked kitchenette. Modern, stylish, clean room with a very relaxing atmosphere. Loved the gas fireplace in the living room and the generous sized spa bath in the bathroom. It is in a very quiet location with the rooms set back from the main road making it a very peaceful stay.
Super comfy bed and pillows. Easy parking close by to the room.
There is no where to dine in house but this isn’t as problem at the location of the hotel is about a 5-10 minute easy walk into town where there are a multitude of cafes and restaurants. Biota dining and Berthas are conviently across the road too. The reception isnt maned all day, but this wasn’t an issue for us.

The 2 bed apartment we had was lovely. Very comfortable and everything you need within the apartment. But if you’re looking for atmosphere it’s lacking a little just because there is no bar or restaurant on site but is close to town so not too far to get dinner. Great for a family or two couples.

Lovely resort to stay

Spacious room with full facilities for a comfortable and lovely stay at this beautiful town. Furniture are clean and well decor the whole place with manicured garden to enjoy. The only complaints we have are the several steps plus a long corridor to walk to our room which is a bit troublesome as we had many bags and suitcases. There is no restaurant on site but there are plenty in the town so that is not a problem. However, a coffee machine such as Nespresso will make the stay perfect, considering the cost we had to pay.

No hot water and poor state of room

The room we had was located down two sets of stairs (7 each) and with 4 suitcases is not easy to get to. The car park is 50 plus metres away. The air con is noisy & blows on you, it's very uncomfortable. The room needs a thorough cleaning, carpet stains and dirty tiles. The public wifi is useless - so don't bother with it. When we arrived the in room safe didn't work so called reception (who were just about to close at 5pm) and he came to fix it, which he said he did. But it didn't work, so I didn't bother again. We just took our lock up things with us every day. Only three of the four lights in the bathroom worked. The others had not been noticed or replaced. This is an indication of overall sloppiness. There were only 3 coat hangers for the two of us in the wardrobe which also seemed to have in i,t the cleaners mops and bucket. The instructions in the room also ask you to take out the garbage to the car park far far away - really? The last straw was NO HOT WATER on the last morning. I am still to receive any acknowledgement or apology for this unacceptable incident. My advice is to pay someone else for your accommodation in Bowral.

Beautiful hotel

Couldn't rate it high enough. Beautiful room, facilities and staff.
The only minor negative is it was quite a far walk from the car to our room.
Also if the room had a opening door onto the rear lawn instead of just a window this would have been nice however obviously this is just a thought, it really is a beautiful hotel really comfortable and its the first hotel Ive stayed at who provided a small fresh milk for a cup of tea after a long drive, not long life crap! Will definitely be returning!

Stayed in a ground floor disabled ready room

For the price paid we were given a ground floor room. The room was purpose built for wheelchair guests. Shower had no screen water everywhere used three towels to stop water. No bath. No one ever at reception to talk about it.

Comfortable hotel, awesome bed and the best pillow

The only thing i would recommend, we were allicated a disabled room (wasn't requested) the bathroom floor floods when you have a shower. I understand the shower needs to be an open shower to enable wheelchair access, but a glass wall alongside the toilet would still leave plenty of room for wheelchairs. Overall a nice stay.

Beautiful apartment

The apartment was elegant and had everything we needed for our family including a cot and sofa bed. The location was great for us with a short 10 minute walk in to town. I was impressed with the staff and everything went very smoothly. We would stay here again
