The hotel is old and rooms are not in the greatest condition (need serious updating). I had to change mine due to the mattress being in a terrible condition. It’s not close to the city centre (walk close to 40 mins or more). The breakfast is not the greatest with limited options. I do not recommend it.

Despite place has 4 starts it deserves for no more than 2 stars.
Room looked very old with loads of peeling paint and some damaged walls. Night table was damaged. Fuse board not secured. There was absolutely no privacy as windows were looking into terrace with access to other guests. I had to have my curtains closed during the day. Hotel did not respond to my messages and requests. Place is absolutely not worth its money. I WOULD NIT RECOMMEND STAY AT THIS PLACE AT ALL. STAY AWAY!!!

Hotel and room were very clean. Reception was great.

With renovating this would be a great place.

The staff in the lobby and the restaurant on the 7th floor were phenomenal. The cover in the room had a few stains and the bathroom floor wasn't cleaned daily and was dirty when we arrived. Breakfast had a great selection of foods with hot and cold choices. The buffet dinner was very good as well and very reasonably priced. The hotel needs renovating and updating. Especially the bathroom. All this being said we did enjoy our stay.

Good location, tiny rooms

The room was really small, with incredibly hard beds. The bathroom had been modernised, but the bedroom was pretty shabby with chipped paint and a view of the car park. It’s in a pretty good location for exploring Palermo on foot (driving in Palermo is terrifying). The best thing about the hotel is the breakfast room on the 7th floor with a lovely view on the port.

Convenient place to stay in Palermo Port

Our ferry from Genoa was 6 hours late, so we didn’t check in until 0330 in the morning. Despite the time, the gentleman at check-in was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and overlooked the Port. There was alway something to look at, but the room was well soundproofed. Breakfast was on an upper floor and the food good. The centre of Palermo is only a few moments away on food with plenty of interesting restaurants. It is very convenient too if you arrive on a ferry as it is a minutes drive from the port entrance.

Very comfortable place conveniently located right across the street from the ferry terminal. Parking was easy behind the hotel. Behind the hotel is pretty dilapidated, but we were never bothered. Breakfast was very good. Room was comfortable. Good value for what we received.

You get what you pay for.

Bed was hard, the wifi didn't work in the rooms (you could connect but the speed was so unusably slow I turned it off), only in the lobby. Daily housekeeping didn't clean up what were clearly used dishes and empty bottles.

Bar staff at the upstairs terrazza were friendly though.

Location is a bit out of the way from anywhere you'd want to go.

Very disappointing property. Definitely NOT a 4 star- property looks old and tired. Some staff are friendly - Antonella at the front and Giorgio at the bar. I didn’t like the one restaurant- it’s like cafeteria food. Air conditioning is bad. Stingy with toilet paper. Beds are uncomfortable- you have to ask for extra pillows. The good is the location is walkable.

The hotel has a lot of natural light, which, combined with the airy lobby, makes the place quite cheerful. The staff were also cheerful and helpful as well. It was pleasant to look out at the port, and the hotel is located within walking distance to the center of town.
Although the dining room buffet menu was most appealing, dinner was not served until 8 pm. An offer of sandwiches would have done the job for earlier diners or those of us who prefer a lighter meal.
I rated room comfort short of excellent because the bathroom soaps were difficult to squeeze out and no shampoo or conditioner was provided.

Just what it says on the can...........

Hotel advertises itself as a good value hotel and it is.
All the staff are all friendly and helpful.
The hotel is within a 5 minute walk of the centre and there are lots of reasonable eateries around; go for the ones the locals eat in.
The public areas have recently been upgraded but the rooms don't seem to have been done at the same time other than to provided enormous beds and large TVs .
Breakfast is efficient and busy if you arrive at peak times.
If you like watching a commercial harbour it is great fun viewing the large ferries and cruise ships dock.
There is however a large building project happening opposite, again very interesting to watch from above but the building means that the road drops from 3 lanes to 1 nearby which makes driving to and from the hotel only appropriate if you have nerves of steel.

Not as modern as it looks

The hotel seems to be undergoing modernisation and we booked the superior room as the pictures suggested those were modern and clean looking. However we ended up in a very dated room and the sea view is also not as romantic as it sounds as it's a working dock / ferry terminal.
The hotel was a good walk away from the main sites and the little streets between the hotel and the main street were quite deserted after dark.
Breakfast had an enormous and delicious variety of Sicilian sweets and cakes but the hot breakfast offer was disappointing as the scrambled eggs were cold and overcooked.
We have stayed in various Ibis Styles hotels in other countries which have always been incredible but I'm afraid this one did not live up to the quality we've come to expect from Ibis.

Good choice if you rent a car

Reasonable price when it comes to the 4star hotel. Room has a nice view to the port and breakfast area is large enough. Free parking was the reason for my choice. 20 mins work to the city center which is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

Check in was a breeze. Our room was on the 2nd floor with a view of the harbor. It was very clean and comfortable with a King Bed, refrigerator, tv and bathroom. The breakfast is excellent with many choices and great views of the harbor. This is a working harbor and we enjoyed watching the loading and offloading of the vessels. There is a bar upstairs as well that we enjoyed. The neighborhood is a little sketchy. We had to walk through a kind of rough residential neighborhood to get to the city center which is about a 10 minute walk. Wifi worked great throughout hotel.

The hotel is a basic no frills hotel, but is a good value for the price. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is with in walking distance to the old part of the city and restaurants. The breakfast buffet is good, but go elsewhere for dinner. Rooms are basic and no frills, but they were clean and neat.

The staff was great giving all sorts of great advice. We had a hard time finding their parking so staff came out and stopped traffic so we could \"back up\" on the busy Main Street to the road we were to turn on. Once there....the parking area was very secure.
The neighbourhood was on the \"rough side\" but the sights were walkable except for Monreal...which was easy to get to by bus from the main piazza. The breakfast was very good but there was no A/C which made it very uncomfortable.

The hotel is licated in front of the port. You can enjoy the ferrys view. A little bit noisy.
In a walking distance from major historical places so you don't need a car to explore the city center. Free parking is also an advantage. The rooms are big, really big.

Great location for visiting Palermo

Very clean centrally located hotel. Received an upgrade to a nicer room without requesting one. The staff was very helpful. You are within walking distance to most sights. Breakfast was abundant with a wide variety including delicious fresh fruit of the season. The breakfast/ restaurant is located on 7th floor with a beautiful view of the port. A nice clean respite in a dirty city. The Internet connection was not very good and could not be relied on.

Arrived at the hotel after a VERY long trip. Delayed flight, missed flight, and lost luggage. The receptionist was extremely friendly, and we felt like they were the only ones happy to see us at the end of the day. We were very hungry, the receptionist called up to the rooftop restaurant to make sure that the us stay open for us until we finish eating. Excellent experience, very friendly staff. Highly recommend. It was also a short walk from the main shopping area, and a two minute walk from the port, where we had a ferry to catch the next morning.

The biggest issue was trying to find the hotel at night. Palermo is a very large city. Once we found the hotel it was nice, and the staff was very helpful. They even found some food for us at 10 pm. The wi-fi was great! The bed was comfortable and there was whirlpool and shower.

The hotel is in a very good location, it is clean and staff are friendly. Breakfast is good and served on the 7th floor which gives you an amazing view of the harbour.

The highlight is just behind is the most amazing neighbourhood, one has to experience it to believe it and there is a crepe place, which makes the best crepe and one that must be experienced.

On the negative side, the double bed provided was two single beds which weren't at the same height and kept moving all over the place.

Great Hotel - What to Expect from a Multi-National

Was impressed with the service from the start, we got upgraded for no particular reason. Room was clean, good location, bit of a walk to some destinations in the city, but didn't mind. Breakfast was epic, great choice and good food, views were great over the ships coming into dock. We needed to print off plane tickets, no problem, reception helped us out. Free parking topped off a very good stay in Palermo.

Rooms were clean but in need of a little renovation which I believe they are in the process of doing. Service was exceptional the people on the front desk were always ready to help with a smile. A handy hotel for short stay or if you are waiting for a ferry, the wharf is out the front, no beach. View from top floor dining area is great for a end of day drink. Little bit of a walk to main restaurant area of town but a couple of good ones are near by.

Very good staff, friendly helpful, particularly liked the decor and the facilities, the walk in showers and the airy high ceilings. Great location for the breakfasting, on the seventh floor with a spectacular view of the port. The location while fine, close to the city centre,and noisy with traffic during the day, can feel a bit threatening at night due to the low level of street lighting. However this did not spoil my experience, would return and recommend to friends

Central, modern option

Stayed one night for the Palermo marathon. Located on busy road, but rooms were very quiet, although we stayed at the back. Not sure about the front rooms. We were off-season, so very few guests. Staff were super attentive and friendly. Rooms were equipped with modern furniture, with a futuristic vibe. Decent option for short-stay travellers, although I'm sure there are better options to be found for the price if one is looking for a bit of Sicilian character.

Am oasis in a land of confusion

Palermo is a dirty and crowded city with too many cars for comfort. This hotel is a great escape from the turmoil, well sited to see the tourist attractions and overlooks the busy port. The room is well equipped and very modern with a comfortable double bed, desk, chair, TV and a kettle. There is a well equipped bathroom with a large shower.Breakfast is good and the staff are friendly and helpful.This is a great place to stay in Palermo.

Well worth a stay...

Excellent family owned and run business. Location is very good , some 15 minutes walk onto the main drag in Taormina Corso Umberto, The family are every freindly and very helpful, nothing seems to be too much trouble for them, and they are more happy to offer advice and any assistance they can.Lido service they provide is really good and great value. Drinks at hotel are cheap, breakfast was good, variety of usual continental type fair. Pool was nice and never crowded, view from balcony was lovely. Rooms were very clean. Overall great value for money, certainly exceeded expectation and would be happy to stay again..

Absolutely fantastic room. Located just by the harbour, means sea view for some of the rooms. Room is clean and awesome, especially the jacuzzi. Breakfast is great, plenty of choices, but it`s the same everyday. Would love to stay again.
