By far the best hotel we stayed in during our month in Thailand. The individual huts for rooms were so clean and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and something I looked forward to daily. The location was quiet but nearby restaurants were delicious, and beautiful beaches 10 minute walks away. If you are choosing to stay here, plan your transportation from the ferry port with the hotel in advance, we didn’t and then we realized how much cheaper their options were than what we ended up with upon arrival.

We had great experience staying in this hotel. Individual villas are spacious and with open-air shower. Walkable distance to the beach and restaurants. Scooter hire available at the hotel, as well as massage sessions. Generous breakfast, but I'd recommend to bring your own milk and spreads if you avoid dairy. Clean swimming pool with nice area around.My only suggestion would be to add mosquito nets in the rooms because we couldn't keep windows/door open without risk being attacked and had to run the A/C all night.

Overall, this property was beautiful. We liked the outdoor shower/bathroom, but it is not for everyone and the bugs do like to attack at night so it is something one should be aware of. The workers were super helpful throughout our whole stay. They didn’t have a kettle in the room but I was wanting some coffee and they lent me one. The pool was beautiful to relax by. The room was large and cold with the AC on. The wifi wasnt too bad, but we were at the very end of the property, so not sure if that had something to do with it. walking 15 minutes in either direction, youll have food and 7/11 options! Breakfast was satisfactory!

We were upgraded to the room with private pool which is very spacious and lovely with a nature vibe. The grounds are lush and backs up to beach. Its quiet andyet you are on a main street and can walk everywhere on au nang beach. The breakfast had options for everyone

Great smaller style resort. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Great room- loads of space- outdoor open shower . bathroom. House keeping staff do an amazing job. Back from breakfast and our room was already cleaned. If possible, either rent a bike from the hotel of the pier / ferry end of town. Not a lot of local restaurants within walking distance- minimal 500m walk including beach. In saying this- all the local bars / food places are great. Great pool. Also has local well priced restaurant. Would recommend / stay next time!Make sure you include breakfast.

some misleading information on line.

It states in the description that they do pier pick ups, just contact them in advance. They don’t, they offer pier drop off, but that is only if you book your boat trip through them so they don’t either if you already booked the ferry, not a big deal but don’t put it on line you do.
On line they show they have washers and dryers but when asked was told it was $10.00 a load. Crazy and all disappointing. Resort is fine, restaurant staff was sweet, location ok WiFi was poor. Overall a ok.

Really beautiful hotel in Ko Lanta, very quiet and peaceful. Bed are comfy and air conditioning is good. The hotel is a little further away from the town compared to other hotels but there is a lovely hotel restaurant and you can rent Moped’s at the hotel. The staff were friendly and could not do more for us. The hotel booked our elephant sanctuary trip and our ferry for when we left. Would 100% recommend and stay again.

Please note to bring insect repellent and the bungalows have an outside bathroom.

This little hotel was great. The staff were amazing, our room was always cleaned to a really good standard and being a small hotel you get the personal feel. The breakfast was good and we never found it was crowded. The only reason we marked it down was it was quite a long walk to the beach and shops/restaurants. We didn't find this a problem as we hired a motorbike. The hotel does have a shuttle bus but you are then restricted to times.
Another recommendation - due to its tropical green setting make sure you take plenty of mosquito repellant.
Pool area is lovely and quite, never struggled to get a sunbed. All in all its a really great little hotel. Would definitely stay there again..

Stayed for 5 nights with my boyfriend.
We were upgraded at check-in so room was bigger and roomy.
Breakfast was really good. Pancakes, eggs, yogurt, stir fry.
You can rent a scooter from them which we did. You can also get a massage. Pool looked ok - didnt use. Amd they have a small gym.
Walking distance to 2 beaches and 5min ride to long beach.
They offer a shuttle bus to long beach, saladan and 1 other beach.
Theres a few restaurants nearby and more restaurants and massage places on Relax Beach.
We liked the location.
There was a problem with mosquitoes in the room but they sprayed the room for us and that got rid of them.
Staff were helpful and friendly. Lota of nice little features around the hotel that looked nice.
Overall we liked our stay and would consider staying there again.

We really enjoyed the spaciousness of the family room that we stayed in. The staff was super accommodating, friendly and wonderful.

We are not used to warmer climates so the air conditioning was greatly appreciated. I realize that the outdoor aspect of the bathroom was conducive to insects and were often frightened by the cockroaches. In fact, we made the mistake of not zipping up our luggage and took one to our next destination. Would we stay there again, YES!

The place, like other reviewers have mentioned, is quite run down. I do appreciate the fact that the management is trying to be green and environmentaly friendly, but in order for the resort to look inviting and welcome, something has to give. The landscape along the pathway to our room look dried and withered, the outdoor bathroom looks like it hasn’t been cleaned, the sink is cloaked up. Although, I do like the concept of taking a shower under the star. We rented a motorbike at the hotel and got a flat tire on the second day, luckily for us, there was a hike repair shop near by. We were told by the people at the bike repair shop that the whole tire is so worn out and suggested that we should change a whole new tire instead of just the inner tube. I believe that the hotel should have checked to make sure that the motorbike is safe and well maintained before renting it out. Have we gotten a flat tire while riding away from town, we would have been in serious trouble. Please make sure to inspect the motorbike if you decide to rent from the hotel. I found out that there are any places to rent a motorbike in town and seem to be much nicer. Overall, it was a ok stay for us at this hotel. I think for the amount of money that we spent on this hotel, we could most likely find something a lot nicer

Although I prefer beachfront hotels, the Chaw Ka Cher was a good stop for a week with my husband. Our room was spacious and had an excellent outdoor shower. The pool was a nice place to relax and the grounds have beautiful, lush foliage throughout. The included breakfast offered many choices and was a great start to the day. Staff were very friendly and helpful....they quickly found us a kettle for our room and an additional seat for our patio. We ate at the restaurant a number of times and were happy with the options available. We appreciated the daily shuttle to town. There is a great beach south of the hotel (less than a km walk) named Beautiful Beach that has a small restaurant/bar, great sandy beach, and although there are some rocks, the water is easily accessible even at low tide.

Nice looking resort with gardens.The garden could of been better maintained Room nice and clean but very late in the day to get cleaned.
Open air concept bathroom that is stuck to the other bungalow.Makes doing your business difficult without neighbors hearing everything.Not good laundry service.Washed all the whites with the color and no ironing the clothes.When cleaning the room they kept on forgetting shampoo, towel ,q-tip,emptying the garbage. On our last day , they did not even give us some fresh towel etc....Breakfast was always the same boring food. Friendly staff and helpful . If you want to have a peaceful time at the pool you may want to go to a different hotel because there is a lot of family with small children. Location not on the beach. Did rent a small motor bike to go a round because you are not close to anything. The wifi is also very slow and non-existent sometimes.

Professionalism by all staff but laid back island

An amazing hotel and guest experience from the moment we first walked into the hotel. Very welcoming,friendly and helpful staff. Your own cabin set within the grounds makes you feel like your in the middle of a jungle oasis. An outdoor shower is just awesome... Breakfast isn't spectacular but sets you up for the day and just ask and there is plenty of breakfast for you. It's a quiet idyllic hotel on an idyllic island. Your located about 10mins walk either direction to the nearest restaurants, or even less if you take a tuk tuk.... brilliant coffee shop next door with fresh cakes for a mid afternoon pick you up. Really sad to leave but but waved off with a smile from the staff. Go and book for a couple of nights , you won't regret it.

We showed up, went to our rooms and immediately turned around to leave. The pictures here do not give an accurate representation of the rooms. Shoddy construction - the steps up to my bungalow were rotted through with loads of rusty nails sticking out - the rooms were beyond basic, mattresses that looked like they had bed bugs, bathrooms that may have last been done in the 60s. Just not good enough. Also, the wifi only worked directly in the reception, not in the rooms as promised. When we went to the reception to complain they showed us two further rooms that were no different. Once we decided to leave the hotel staff were rude and not very helpful at all, not impressed, steer clear.

Very Comfortable Stay for 7 of us!

Room is amazingly big & it's really clean. The family suite can actually fit to at least 7 person. The stay was really comfortable. The place is really well maintained, with parking slots just outside the hotel facilities.
And the location is pretty good as it is in the middle of the island. It's about 30 minutes drive to whichever ends of the island from the resort (Khlong Chak Waterfall / Ko Lanta Old Town / Car ferry Pier @ Ko Noi)
On the down side, it has only 1 bathroom. It took us almost 2 hours for everyone to be done bathing for 7 people. Do take note that it is an open air bathroom, it is totally impossible to bathe when it's raining. Also, there are 2 pots of (supposedly to be) mini water fountain, but it wasn't functioning at all, so it was all filled with mosquitoes around which was just outside the doorstep of our resort. We have to ensure that the main door was closed in order not to be fed with mosquitoes.
The Jacuzzi wasn't that amazing though, was seems pretty dirty.
But overall, the place was still comfortable for staying & staffs are extremely friendly. & they even tried to remember our names in order to find us easily & help us with our needs. Kudos!

No comfy chairs in reception also dining chairs were uncomfortable. Pool was lovely and surrounded by lush gardens. Frogs at night in garden were very noisy.

Hotel was not what we were expecting. Check in/lobby was just off the road, the hotel was run down, and the rooms were not as nice as photographed in advertising. Directly behind our outdoor bathroom, was loads of trash, and it didnt smell good. Sheets were stained and power to the room was temperamental. We checked out 20 minutes after arriving.

We spent around 3 weeks in Thailand in various places, and while this was probably the most expensive hotel of the ones we stayed in, it was by far the best value for money.
Rooms are spacious and comfortable, nicely decorated and with all the nice touches that you would find in a top-end resort.
Staff was incredible - full marks to Nok (the hotel manager) who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay.
We were planning to stay for one night and ended up staying 3 nights - we always booked last minute creating some problems to the room planning (as the hotel was fully booked).
I note the hotel is not by the beach, but it is in a island and in an easy locate to access nearby beaches (especially if you have a scooter/car). In any event the common pool area is cool, quiet and relaxed so you might not even miss the beach!
All in all, I will happily recommend this hotel to everyone.

Stay only 2 nights and most of the time was out in the sea or trekking around the island.

Hence, did not use the pool or hang out much here.

Nonetheless, superb service...you can tell then staff are proactive about being helpful! (K. Nok! )

Had dinner there one evening and it was yummy. Breakfast was pretty standard.

The location is a bit out of the way to any restaurant. Nearest 7-11 is perhaps 15mi n walk away. If you have wheels, no issue here.

Rooms were clean and a bit dated. Outdoor toilet a novelty...it rained and I shower with rain too. Else, fully functional.

Lanta Animal shelter is walking distance.

This is a good clean hotel and good value for the money. It is not right on the beach, but it was easy to commute by frequent Tuk Tuk and taxis which are plentiful on the road. The grounds are nice. The rooms are quite even though the resort is right along the road. Currently some construction going on, but the noise did not disturb us in the room. Staff are very attentive, and friendly. Loved the pineapple banana shakes at the restaurant.

An Incredibly Relaxing Stay

Our party of three really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Chaw Ka Cher. The check-in process was smooth & there was plenty of room for the 3 of us in our bungalow. The room was very clean and we loved the outdoor shower. The pool area was fantastic with bath-temperature water in the pool & plenty of spots to find shade. We enjoyed poolside massages as well. The hot items you could order at breakfast allowed for some variety. The banana shakes became an addiction. And what's not to like about the beautiful small beach just minutes away!? The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Disappointing Stay

Was expecting much more given ratings, pictures, other reviews and price. Room was generally OK, however had booked two beds, but was told at check-in the only room available was a king (which to me was really a queen). Outdoor bathroom is interesting, but means dealing with mosquitos (and sort of, the neighbors if they are using their bathroom simultaneously) Hotel is on a very busy highway, but it basically is a thoroughfare without really any restaurants (or shops) nearby. The beach requires walking along and across this highway and is really not that accessible. A bigger issue was all the little things the hotel charges you for: Ice, internet in the room per device - they charged for everything. During my entire stay, the internet (public or the in room which I paid for) never worked. Lots of smiles, but staff not really helpful. Rented a scooter from the hotel, but was walked a long list of the charges and damages I could incur - particularly for tires! All the scooters were generally in poor condition, requiring me to take photos, so as not to be charged. The scooter I ended up with had no suspension and a broken fuel gauge - causing me to refill when already full. Breakfast was very limited in selection and waitstaff lacking and inattentive.

Overall our stay was ok. It is nowhere near anything, you need to get a tuk tuk/taxi anywhere.

Arranged pick up from the harbour but on the way to the hotel, the driver pulled over & told us we had to get out & walk 5mins in the blazing heat with our luggage to change to another car. There was a patrol/security checkpoint along the road we were travelling, so this is what we had to walk past to get to the other car. It was all VERY dodgy, and the driver just thought it was hilarious. We didn't.

The food in the restaurant of the hotel was terrible. We stayed one night to eat. Ordered the pineapple rice which was so dry and had raw onion. The other noodle dish we ordered was tasteless, so we sent it all back but they still charged us for our accompanying drinks. The staff were all huddled in a corner playing with their phones, so my husband had to actually go to tell them the food was awful, customer service was definitely below par. We were the only ones in there, not surprising really.

The bed was comfy and showering under the stars was quite a nice experience but overall I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

I have been lucky enough to visit Thailand on many occasions, Cha-Ka-Chaw stands out as one of the best places I've had the pleasure of staying at, Da and all the team, from reception down to the chamber maids and not forgetting the gardener are so lovely,smiley and genuinely happy, nothing is too much trouble, they bend over backwards to help you enjoy your stay, the rooms and the grounds are impeccably kept the food and the overall ambience are spot on.......loved the stay at this resort and it absolutely deserves the 5 stars I have rated it!!! well done Cha-Ka-Cher a fab little resort set in lush tropical surrounding, will definitely be back!!!

We had a wonderful 5 nights at Chaw Ka Cher. We stayed in the Tara suite which was brilliant, so much space and the most comfortable day bed EVER. The bathroom was amazing with the shower under the stars (although I can't imagine it's quite as amazing in the rainy season :/). Only a couple of things could be improved on. The bedroom needed a bin other than the one in the bathroom as we didn't know where to put the rubbish we accumulated. Also, the public bathrooms beneath the restaurant didn't have soap at the sink which is a bit unhygienic. Otherwise loved the hotel and grounds, lovely staff and nicely priced drinks even if the food was a bit pricey. It helps to have a scooter to get around as the hotel isn't right next to anything.

This was one of the last places we stayed on our trip to Thailand. The cleanliness and comfort of the hotel were much welcomed at that point in our trip. The hotel is about a 15 minute taxi ride from the pier/town which can be expensive if you want to go to town to eat/shop. The hotel is off of the main road and a 15 minute walk to the nearest beach. The pool here is great, clean. You can also rent scooters at the hotel for about 200 baht/day to tour the island, which is a good price if you're brave enough to do it. The showers here are outdoors and other guests mentioned that they had monkeys in their shower every morning!

Stayed at many different resorts in Thailand and this was one of my favorite designed hotels. The property was kept very clean and well landscaped providing a tropical jungle feel. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great hotel - let down by the wi if situation

Overall this is really good option. Not on the beach but easy eneugh to get to everything, rooms good especially bathroom.however was very disappointed that wi FI is only in reception area, and you have to pay- a lot- to have wi FI cards in room. Considering we stayed at several cheaper places who all offer wi FI throughout, we felt this was a rip off. It shame as this really lets this place down.

Hotel was nice, rooms clean and comfortable, staff friendly. Requires a long walk or transportation to beach, shops, restaurants. Free breakfast was good. Annoying that the free wifi is only in the lobby while the in room wifi costs money.

Tropicana er et ideelt valg for å bo på Koh Lanta! Her får du mye igjen for pengene, til å være på et middels prisnivå. God beliggenhet i forhold til nord og sør, og det er en veldig fin strand kalt Relax Beach ca 10 min gange unna.. det føltes trygt å bo der, veldig bra

Endroit très agréable. Malheureusement le personnel est très désagréable. Ils ne communiquent pas entre eux. Nous devions changer de chambre, ils nous ont d’abord dit que nous pourrions passer d’une chambre à l’autre directement, puis lorsque nous avons rendu la première chambre à 11h, il fallait attendre 14h, 1h plus tard nous pouvions prendre la chambre à 12h30. Lorsque nous sommes revenu à 12h, il fallait de nouveau attendre 14h, puis 13h30 etc …
Sinon les chambre sont très agréables et propres hôtel bien placé.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour au Tropicana Lanta.
Tout était merveilleux. De magnifiques petits bungalows avec de jolies salle de bain extérieures.
Le complexe est très tranquille et zen.
Le personnel est très sympathique et attentionné!
Nous y serions restés plus longtemps!
La chambre et le lit sont très comfortables!
Magnifique endroit.

Peaceful days in Tropicana Lanta

We stayed at this hotel 11 nights. Place itself is great, nice pool and hotel area is peaceful. Main road is in front of hotel but traffic did not bother us. There was few restaurants nearby and lots of more if you take a ride. Also couple of beaches where you can walk.
Room was spacious and outdoor bathroom was nice.
We could come again and recommed this hotel to all.

Chambres très spacieuses et confortables.
Les équipements comme la piscine, salle de sport, machines à laver sont appréciables.
Le personnel est agréable et de bons conseils.
Si jamais vous n'avez pas de mode de transport, l'hôtel propose de faire la navette où vous souhaitez (pour moins cher qu'un tuctuc!).
Il y a aussi une offre de restauration qui peut dépanner, c'est simple et bon (testez le curry Massaman !)

Fantastisk service og flotte forhold

Fantastisk hotell med utrolig bra service. Følte oss som hjemme med en gang! Alle ansatte var serviceinnstilte og hyggelige. Nydelig utendørs bad, men vær obs på at du må dele fasilitetene med kakerlakker, tusenbein og andre småkryp. Litt harde senger og medium frokost, men ellers hadde vi et supert opphold. Bassengområdet var rolig og fint.

Hôtel très agréable et charmant. La chambre avec la salle de bain extérieure (bain de capacité 2 personnes) était vraiment superbe. Le petit déjeuner était également très bon et copieu !!! Il ne manquait absolument rien. Le personnel… GÉNIAL! Ils étaient aux petit soins, fort sympathique, serviable, souriant et de très bons conseils! Certainement notre plus bel hôtel de notre trip en Thaïlande du sud. Je recommande et si un jour je reviens à Koh Lanta, je reviendrai vous voir avec plaisir! Merci pour tout ❤️

Everything was as described but better: did receive a room upgrade, Muay (from reception) was very supportive and friendly supporting all special asks and recommened where to go and explore Koh Lanta. Alt i alt var vi fornøyd

Alt i alt fornøyd med oppholdet. Vi var her vår andre uke på Koh Lanta. Det var hyggelige ansatte, god frokost. Vi tilbragte dagene ved bassenget og var veldig fornøyd med det.

Det som trekker ned er følgende: Beliggenheten, 10 min og gå til stranden og nærmeste butikk (7-eleven). Ikke er det mange restauranter i nærheten heller foruten om den på hotellet.

Insekter. Det kom noen ganger «home gekko» inn på rommet, selv om de ikke er farlige synes jeg det var ubehagelig og det var vanskelig å få de ut.I tillegg kom det biller inn, tror dette skyldes at dørene ikke var tette.

Eine der schönen Unterkünfte auf Koh Lanta, vor allem das außenliegende Bad mit der Regendusche, die schöne grüne Außenanlage und der tolle Poolbereich. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, alles ist sauber. Kleines Manko es sprechen nicht alle englisch.

Literie très décevante, sol pas très propre (poussière, cheveux des fourmis.).
La cuvette des toilettes dans un mauvais état. (Nous étions dans la chambre 128.)
Ayant déjà séjourné dans cet hôtel l'année dernière j'ai constaté que cette chambre était moins bien que celle de l'année passé.
Pourtant c'était mon coup de cœur surtout c'était un bon rapport qualité prix.

Points positifs:
super accueil, bel hôtel, moderne, calme, piscine très bien et jacuzzi au top. Restaurant de l'hôtel très bon mais assez cher, le double environ de ce qu'on peut trouver sur l'île mais dans les environs de l'hôtel il n'y a pas grand choix si vous n'avez pas de scooter. Petit déjeuner très complet.

Points négatifs:
Les toilettes sont à l'extérieur comme la douche et sont vraiment sales, on a aucunement envie de s'assoir sur la cuvette qui semble sortie d'une station service d'un film d'horreur. (pour rentrer dans les détails il restait des traces des precedents clients que nous avons signalé à notre arrivé mais qui ont été nettoyées au bout de deux jours...)
La literie est très vieille et le matelas pourri (gros trou d'un côté)
La chambre est envahie de fourmis
et d'autres insectes qui rentrent par la porte fenêtre.
Nous avons loué un scooter via une compagnie conseillée par l'hôtel, les prix étaient vraiment excessifs pour un scooter au bout de sa vie. Donné sans le plein.
Nous avons aussi fait une excursion d'une compagnie conseillée par l'hôtel et c'était un vrai désastre.
Bref je pense que cet hôtel est bien mais ne vaut pas le prix ni les bonnes notes qu'il a pu avoir ou peut être il y a 5 ou 10 ans.

Kunde rengjort poolen oftare

Poolen va inte fräsch, o man ville heller inte va vid poolen för det va bara massa barnfamiljer även fast det står när man bokar att lägsta incheckningåldern är 16år.
Personalen va super trevliga o frukosten fanns det mycket att välja på.
Men det är inget hotell jag skulle vilja komma tillbaka till.
