Bungalows were small - I was in one with 2 single beds but they were clean, 2 fans, simple bathroom, quiet - all I needed. Price very reasonable.
Simple continental breakfast if you wanted to eat there with homemade bread. Everything cooked nicely.
Constant refill station for drinking water - saving SO many plastic bottles! Brilliant and necessary 💚
There was a nice vibe around the pool, good for families. I had 2 massages, both good.
Close to the beach, shops variety of places to eat. Bicycle hire etc...
Everyone was welcoming, trustworthy and helpful. I met Oscar, the owner, as I left and was delighted to hear how active he is in regards to eco tourism and sustainability both for the environment and the locals.

The pictures do not do this property justice. The rooms were beautifully situated as individual private bungalows. The owners of the property were very nice and answered any questions regarding excursions, moped rentals, etc. The breakfast was delicious. And the cats and dogs on the property were the cutest. I would definitely stay at Mook Lanta again!

Overall experience was good. Mellisa was a great owner which helped out in many request and information. Location is just 5 mins walk to Rocky beach and 5 mins walk to the main road which has everything from 7-11, restaurant and bars. If you are ridning/driver do beware their first signage is only for \"walk\" in and to park you will need to go through another entrance which has totally no signage but just lookout for \"Lily resort\". A car park signage out there would be perfect for first time customer.

Wonderful place to stay on Koh Lanta

I stayed in a bungalow with AC. The room was very clean and tidy and housekeeping attended daily. The bed was very firm.
The owners and staff were friendly, helpful and made me feel welcome.
The breakfast is incredible, I would stay again just for that. Tea and coffee is available for free throughout the day, and water is available whilst reception is open (7am-7pm).
The bungalows get hot during the day therefore I recommend an AC room. I did find the curtains to be thin, which allowed the sun to heat the bungalow quite a lot. I hung towels at the windows to help cool the room and save some energy by running the AC less.
Location wise, I'd say this place is ideal if you like some quiet. It's close to many restaurants along the main road and about a 30 second walk from the beach. It's near some bars, but it's a few minutes walk away from the more lively areas further up the beach.

Our stay at Mook was great. The staff are super friendly and can’t do enough for your. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Beds are alittle hard for my liking but that’s personal preference. The bungalows are in a great location and situated right at the end of the beach.

Hotel staff was super nice. If you are going to book anything make sure to do it through the hotel. They have a great deals.

The best part of our stay was the hotel’s dogs! We are dog lovers and we loved being able to come back to the resort each day and have a dog there to pet.

Unfortunately, we visited in the off season and there were limited things to do on the island.

The only complaint we had was that the bed was a bit hard and uncomfortable. Other than that it was an excellent place to stay!

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this hotel ! The staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is really good ! We had a cozy fan bungalow for 5 nights and it was perfect, spacious, comfortable bed, clean shower and toilet! Literally 1 min walk from the beach and 2 min from restaurant and convenience store!
A little tip, on the beach, the first restaurant called “marina” is awesome, every kind of food, good price, delicious Thai food, friendly owner !
Will definitely recommend this hotel !

Quaint Cottages, Steps From The Beach!

Enjoyed our stay at Mook Lanta! Staff were very helpful and responsive whenever we had questions, the location is great, and the cabins are pretty good. Experience was absolutely in line with the reviews we read beforehand.

Location: a quick minute walk and you're on the beach, next to some cozy, cheap beach bars and massage huts. 5 minute walk down the road to a 24hr 7-Eleven, with plenty of restaurants in between or beyond. Cheap tuk tuk into Saladan Village. Easy walk to the Lanta Animal Welfare centre (must visit). Lots of helpful recommendations posted in the lobby, too.

Food: Amazing international breakfasts (mook muffins)! Tasty snacks. Thai food was okay, would recommend going elsewhere for that - no shortage nearby.

Cabins: Nice, rustic cabins. Bed and pillows were good. Small safe (not big enough for 13inch laptop). AC was pretty good, although not perfect if you needed to stay in the cabin during a sunny day (i.e. were sick). Blinds are very thin, so be sure to bring an eye mask and earplugs if you are a light sleeper! The surrounding wildlife is loud at night, as is the loudspeaker on the main road. Keep in mind these are simple cabins (i.e. some small spaces in the floorboards) so some bugs could come in, nothing major though. Not a problem for us.

Worth noting that we were a group split into 2 cabins, and despite identical costs, one cabin was definitely better (nicer TV with many more channels, nicer bathroom/shower set up).

Overall, would recommend!

Good location, close to Long Beach, lots of bars and restaurants around. Very nice staff also. We stayed at AC bungalows and then to fan bungalows. Although the AC looks way nicer inside, it gets very hot because there are no mosquito nests on the windows so you can not open them. On the fan bungalows there are smaller windows, but you can live them open all night.
Overall, nice place to stay on a low budget.

Nice place, let down by a horrible mattress

Well managed. Bungalows are pretty clean and the grounds are well kept, the bar and breakfast area is inviting and free of clutter. The bed sheets were of excellent quality however the two inch mattress is rock hard and ruins the whole experience.

A rustic bungalow experience.

Make note that this is a rustic experience. If you are looking for a hotel-quality stay, this is not your place! I had originally booked for two nights but had to leave one day early as my girlfriend and daughter did not like the noises at night. The noises are very loud, but for someone who likes to camp it did not bother me.

The owners are great, and the place is charming. It is a short walk to the beach.

Nice, but not great for the wet season.

Mook Lanta was a lovely bungalow village that caters for lower to higher budgets.
Unfortunately, I was there in the wet season so the roads were muddy and getting in and out of Mook was a bit annoying.
My bungalow was very clean, but my bed was like a big box with springs in it. My back is still sore!!i I left a day early as I couldn't bare another night on the bed.
The owners are an English couple, so if you want the full Thai experience you will be disappointed. They were very nice though.

Less Security Eco Resort

Our first visit to Koh Lanta and attracted to the laid back experience written by the travelers around the world. But there is few advantages and disadvantages staying at this resort and if you think about security, you should spend few hundred Baht to book at nearest place with more security within the hotel compound. We have a scary experience here, we being robbed while sleeping and it made us loosing around 7000 Baht and the owner that met us (which is an Australian lady said to us that the incident had been happened numerous time and the unfortunate thing is, the security at this resort is minimal and reception only open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m (Thai's Time), Disadvantages:

1. the resort consist of units of wooden chalet which terribly hot during day time and also night time.
2. if you take the unit with the fan, the fan is small but you can request for the 2nd fan but the electrical terminal just 1, if you take the air conditioning room, the tropical heat will get you dizzy when you want to get out from the room
3. No in house security with the motto \"book and pray\"
4. reception is open from 7am to 7pm, the rest is on your own
5. only one secure route to the beach, there is another route but you need to play hike and seek with the guard dog
6. close all the window while sleeping in the hot day time and probably you might being robbed because according to the owner for the locals there is less income during the low season
7. mosquito, built on reclaimed beach swamp

Wonderful in every way

A 2 night stay in an AC bungalow. Room was spacious and comfortable, nicely and simply decorated. The bathroom is a little rough (no AC, cement area for shower that is pretty open so some bugs were around) but I didn't mind. The breakfast sandwiches are DELICIOUS. Within walking distance to the beach, many restaurants and places to eat, and a massage place. Nick and Mellisa (they are the owners from UK or Australia? I'm not good at identifying accents) were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again!

My husband and I had a lovely stay at Mook Lanta, the rooms were clean and comfortable (if you're going during the sticky months you really need an air conditioned room), it's a 2 minute walk to the beach. The breakfast is delicious and there is free tea and coffee 24/7. Generally the staff were friendly, very knowledgeable about anything to do with the island and mostly happy to help. Unfortunately our stay had a bit of a sour end when the receptionist made a mistake when booking us in for a tour which we paid for but she insisted that we hadn't. This all came to a head when we were checking out and she got very defensive and rude, refusing to look at me or say goodbye. Apart from that however, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

The hosts with the most!

To keep it short, Nick and Mellissa are excellent hosts and run a great resort. They were welcoming and informative upon our arrival, and were more than happy to answer any questions we had about our stay and finding things to do in the surrounding area. The resort itself is very well-kept, has hard-working staff, and is in close proximity to the beach. Finally, I forgot a pair of shorts that I left hanging to dry and Mellissa was kind enough to mail them back to me!

Had a great stay at Mook Lanta. We were in an Air Con hut (G8) which was located away from the bar/breakfast area so was quiet. A short walk to the southern end of Long Beach where it's rocky bit walk another 2 mins and you'll find a nice sandy beach with a few beach bars. Scooter rental from the resort was easy and walking distance to the main road for more restaurants and a 7-Eleven. Beds are hard but ok for us. Shower had warm water and the setting on stilts is very pretty.

Cheerful Stay in Beautiful Ko Lanta

We had a fabulous four-day stay at Mook Lanta - where we enjoyed the surrounding neighborhood, the friendly and always helpful staff, and a few excursions we booked through the hotel. While we did run into a few snapfu's with our air conditioner when we upgraded to the air-con room, the staff was quick in helping to remedy the situation.

The location of Mook Lanta is second to none, with quick access to Long Beach and Relax bay within walking distance. It is also situated nice and close to the main pier when you leave the ferry from Krabi.

All in all it was a wonderful stay and we enjoyed our time there. The only potential improvement to the comfort of the rooms would have to be the mattresses :) But that's a small thing when you look at the entire experience!

A wonderful place to stay on Koh Lanta

Loved everything about this hotel. We chose it as a chill and relax place near to the beach and good Thai restaurants. We couldn't have chosen better - the room was lovely (air-con bungalow) and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Nick and Mellisa who own and run the hotel are lovely, helpful, and always cheery and welcoming. They know lots about the island and are happy to recommend places if you ask them. We left Mook Lantra feeling relaxed and happy. Thanks to everyone who made our stay so wonderful!

Cozy bungalows by the beach!

I loved my stay here! The room was very clean and the bathroom was pretty large! Also, the staff was friendly and incredibly helpful. Thanks to Melissa, my boyfriend and I were able to make the most of our stay on Koh Lanta. Oh, did I mention that the breakfast was soooooo delicious and that's there is coffee 24/7?!? Haha. Great place to stay, loved the staff!

Unfortunately for my boyfriend and I, we were only here for 3 nights, during the monsoon season, and it rained the entire time, which is very unlikely from what I hear. This place was perfect for it though, with the above ground walk ways you could still get around easily. And we had a perfectly covered balcony where we sat outside and just watched the rain. We rented a scooter from the hotel and someone drove into us and drove off without stopping, and the hotel was very fair with the prices of the repair. And after we told them about the scooter accident they still offered to give us another scooter for the remainder of the 24 hours we rented one for. They also recommended a great travel agent just up the street and to the right, where the agent spoke english and gave us a great price, cheaper than what i found online and cheaper than the brochures I found in Thailand with prices. We went out to the beach at night time with flashlights and saw lots of hermit crabs. I'd love to come back in the high season! Great place to stay, I'd highly recommend it!

Booked one night for my partner and I via wotif, ended up extending for 6more! This place is so awesome, the staff Are extremely friendly and helpful and the beach, shops are within 5min walk. Great Jungle Island Bungalow, live like a local

Overall experience was great! We wanted the real-life feel of living on the island and we got it. It was so fun staying in our spacious air-conditioned bungalow on stilts. We visited in June, during the hot season, so the AC was a must and it worked great. If you want high luxury, this isn't the place, if you want the feel of living on the island and the bungalow experience, then stay here. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, the owners are just as great and are present to help you with anything you need. The hotel offers scooter rental, laundry service, can help with excursion reservations, etc. Plus they have a restaurant (delicious!) and bar (full bar liquor and beer) which is lovely when you don't want to leave and the beach is only a 5 minute walk away. It rained really hard one night (which it is known to do on this island) and we felt like we were living in the jungle with all the sounds of the frogs and insects, lightning and thunder. The room rate is excellent with all the amenities they provide and I wouldn't have chosen a different place if I had the choice.

Grand little spot.

Booked in for one night but ended up staying for 3. Nice little resort. Perfectly good 3 star hotel, i.e. it is pretty lo-fi but clean, comfortable, staff are nice. Close to a couple of bars, <5 minutes to a beach (<10 minutes to a nice sandy beach). They also have mopeds to rent on what seemed to me to be pretty reasonable rates. (fyi this was a great way to explore Ko Lanta).

While the staff (mix of Thai and UK) were really nice and friendly, they couple prehaps be a bit more helpful with suggestions, recommendation and tips for exploring Ko Lanta. Even though I asked for advice on what to see I got a kind of unhelpful answer i.e. \"there just so much to do, I couldn't tell you where to begin.\" and then didn't tell me anything. Not a big deal, but the kinda touches that can have a big impact on a stay.

My friend and I stayed here for a few nights in one of the bungalows with AC and absolutely loved it. Very comfortable and clean rooms, warm showers, great location on Long Beach and good dining options within walking distance. The AC also worked very well which, in our experience, we don't always find in Thailand. Staff was great. We would absolutely stay here again!

Friendly hotel with a beach around the corner

What really males this resort stand out is the owners Nik & Melissa, they really put themselves out and can't do enough for you.

From the moment you arrive they make you feel welcome and are very open and friendly people - they have good knowledge of the local area and made very good recommendations on where to eat (try the red snapper, mays kitchen and the frog for a god mix of western and thai food) and are always happy to chat to you when sitting and relaxing in the bar area.

We stayed in one of the air conditioned rooms and these were very homely, the rooms are a nice size and yes the beds are hard but if you read other reviews they will all say this - they are however comfortable and we had no problems sleeping.

The hotel is also about 100 metres away from the beach - the area near the mook lanta is quite rocky but if you keep walking you will find a nice sandy area, after all there is about 3km of beach to walk on.

They also do a fantastic breakfast here, freshly cooked to order - if you're like me and like a full enlglish then this place does a great one, there are of course other options if this doesn't float your boat.

If you're a keen diver Nick & Melissa will also arrange this for you (as well as other trips) taking into consideration your experience and requirements and putting you with the right dive school.

We had a fantastic day and should we go back to koh lanta we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again

Get the better room, I think?

Stayed there for 3 nights, should have gotten the more expensive room with the real windows and AC. Wanted to get the real Thailand experience with the plain Bungalow, and I guess I got it... loud fan that would wake you up at night, but can't leave it off because it's 90 degrees. The mosquito net wasn't big enough to cover the whole bed, and the fan would hit it sometimes. But can't leave the front window open because everyone who walks by 5 feet away can see inside your room. Why are there no curtains? There is a side window with a curtain but it doesn't open, just a glass in a wall. Had to keep the bathroom door open with an outside plastic chair, because it had the only source of air. No mirror in the room, no night stand, no chairs. Wifi didn't work half the time (I don't need to sit on Facebook, I have business emails to check hourly). The bed was stiff as the floor, but that's how it was in all of Thailand. That's why they have all these massage places, can't get a decent night of sleep!

Maybe all of that would be avoided if I paid double for the nicer room with the AC, windows, probably a better bed, etc. The breakfast was good, the owners are very nice and I like the location. I'm reviewing the room specifically which was very disappointing and uncomfortable.

We originally booked one night, and ended up staying for 4 nights. We loved Mook Lanta resort. Our bungalow was a perfect retreat. The owners were so lovely and helpful. They made our stay so enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious. (the best breakfast we had in thailand) We loved the laid back atmosphere of Koh Lanta. It didnt feel as \"touristy\" as some of the other islands we visited. Great restaurants near by. Rent scooters! There is so much to see and do.

Vaikka ranta oli itsessään hotellin kohdilla kivinen, oli se silti todella kaunis ja rauhallinen auringonlaskuineen. Rantaa pitkin ei ole pitkä matka kävellä paremmin uimiseen soveltuvaan kohtaan. Suosittelen lämpimästi.

Eco-resort with great location

I loved to see the eco-friendly features eg refillable water bottle, recycling bins, a bookshelf made from left behind books by guests - meaning the resort really stands for their name: eco-resort! Owners & employees were always happy and ready to help if needed!

If you are a light sleeper, it’s good to have ear plugs with you - I used a pair every night and it worked well.

Location is also amazing: the resort is right next to the long beach which is not packed with many tourists so you might easily have ”own beach” (at least in March). If you are keen to visit Lanta Animal Welfare Center, you can do it even on foot from Mook Eco Resort. Next to LAW is also located supergood restaurant Happy Veggie - check it out! Evening snacks are easy to get from 7eleven with five minutes walk.

Super à tout point de vue !

Super séjour dans cet hôtel. Le personnel est vraiment aux petits soins pour vous et extrêmement sympathique. Nous avons été surclassé pour avoir une chambre climatisée sans rien demander.
Les repas proposés sont vraiment excellent.
Super situation également à deux pas de la plage.

Super Unterkunft. Im Preis-Leistungsverhältnis einfach klasse. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft liegt keine 2 Minuten vom Strand entfernt, genauso weit ist es zur Hauptstrasse, die man aber nicht hört.
Gelunger Urlaub in super Unterkunft. Grüße an Leo :-)

In Ordnung - naturnah und zentral

War gut, aber wir hatten ein Bungalow das nicht unter den Bäumen stand. Etwas schade dass man Tagsüber aussiedeln musste, da es auf dem Balkon und drinnen (ohne Klima) zu heiß war. Ansonsten hat alles gepasst. Sehr naturnah trotzdem zentral.

Bestes Resort auf Koh Lanta

Über eine Internetplattform empfohlen worden und gewählt und alles richtig gemacht. Eine super Anlage, 100 Meter zum Wasser, schöne Bar. lecker Frühstück. Bier in gefrorenen Gläsern. Super schöne Zimmer (Bungalows) mit AC, Wlan, Tresor und Terrasse. Nette Wirtschaft.
Eins steht fest, da geht's nochmal hin.

Caratteristico e tranquillo

Ci siamo teovati benissimo in tutti i sensi!
I bungalow sono molto carini in una zona tranquilla ma non troppo lontana dal porto e dal paese principale e vicinissimo ad una spiaggetta molto carina e tranquilla con un baretto che fa cocktail buonissimi! Inoltre il personale disponibilissimo si è offerto di andare in farmacia a prendere dei medicinali per la mia compagna che stava poco bene.

Sehr schöner und erholsamer Urlaub

Eine sehr schöne und ruhige Anlage. Einfache aber sehr saubere Hüttchen. Wir verbrachten einen sehr schönen und erholsamen Urlaub. (Leider sind die Matratzen in den Einzelbetten sehr hart)
Die Eigentümer und das Personal waren sehr freundlich und hillfsbereit.
Steiniger Strand in unmittelbarer Nähe. Der schönere Sandstrand ist in ca. 10 Min. Fussweg zu erreichen.

Würden sofort wieder diese Anlage buchen.

Eko ystävällinen kiva hotelli

Tilavat huoneistot ja hyvin hoidettu ja siisti paikka, mukava palvelu.Sänky aika kova, WC/Suihku vois olla parempi. Nyt ok tasoa, mutta Iso plussa on eko ajattelu. Sijainti ok jos ei välttämättä halua asua rannalla.

Schöner familiärer Aufenthalt

Der Aufenthalt im Mook Lanta war sehr angenehm und die Besitzer waren sehr bemüht einem mit Rat und Tat zur Seite zu stehen. Man hat sich wie zu Hause gefühlt. Die Resort Anlage war gepflegt und es gab einen schön angelegten Garten. Das einzigste was ich etwas bemängeln würde, wäre das super harte Bett und der Wasserdruck war morgens zu bestimmten Zeiten fast nicht vorhanden, was aber innerhalb von ein paar Minuten vorbei war. Die Bungalows sind hübsch eingerichtet und man hat ausreichend Platz.
