We were so excited to get to this property, but we were pretty disappointed with the room that we received. It was super dirty, and the curtains were growing mold. Additionally, the mattresses were terrible to sleep on. (I think they were box springs?) anyway they were two twins pushed together to make a king so it just kept sliding apart. The Q-tips were reused and never replaced in the bathroom when we got there. Room service never cleaned the place. They only replaced our towels. Additionally, the pool was pretty small compared to the photos. Buyer beware! Still looks like one of the nicer places to stay at, do your research and book early!

The beach front villa is a room by the beach not a villa. There is no privacy as those heading to the bar/restaurant have to walk right past. Hit water wasnt working but this was fixed swiftly once reported. The double bed was 2 single beds pushed together with a sheet over the top creating a dip in the middle. Bed was uncomfortable as matress lumpy. A topper would resolve this. Breakfast was mediocre with many items running out early and staff taking a while to replenish.
Overall just an ok stay nothing special.

We really enjoyed our stay. First of all we loved Ko Lanta. This place was beautiful and clean. Lots of things in walking distance or a tuk tuk. They had tuk tuks right outside the hotel so going anywhere was easy. Awesome free breakfast in the mornings. They have on site dining and drink options. Nice pool, beautiful views. Really a lovely stay. One of the best part was they arranged for pick up for us from our ferry. Our ferry was even late and they waited for us. We did have them arrange a ride for us to Krabi when we left. It was super cheap but not sure I would do that again. Extremely cramped ride and very hot. They were late picking us up and even the hotel couldn't get a hold of them. Stressed us out a bit since we had a flight to catch but it ended up being fine. They told us it would be a 3 hour drive when booking it was only about 2 hours. So if for the very cheap price you can handle the cramped ride with every seat full and no space for luggage and the heat go for it, if not maybe find another option.

Best hotel on Long beach, as you have the choice of beach or pool. Only problem, were a lot of guests putting towels out on the sun-loungers at 6am using torches!
Breakfast was OK, with a nice egg station, but there was never any cheese during our stay.
Well located hotel, with tuk-tuks & taxis outside 24/7, so there were no transport issues.
Staff were very friendly, especially the receptionists, who always said, \"Good Morning\".

The hotel location and beach are incredible. There are not a lot of dining options (one great restaurant next door and the hotel restaurant). The hotel restaurant was very good and we were very satisfied. The 7-11 is about a 15 minute walk away. Not that easy, but a taxi can take you. More lounge chairs are needed for the beach and pool. I do not find it acceptable to be at a resort and not be able to find a place to sit. If WiFi is important, do not stay here. Our WiFi kept disconnecting every 5-10 seconds and was inconsistent throughout the resort. It seems as if they do not have one consistent WiFi system and everywhere you move you need to connect to a new router with another password to enter. If you are between routers, it will constantly alternate between them dropping signal each time. The wireless speed when connected was also very slow. Several times I received a message that I could not connect because there were already too many other devices connected. Overall, it was a good hotel for a short stay. It would have been very frustrating for longer than a few days.

Great place to stay on a quick return journey to Koh Lanta. Had been to the hotel many times before, but never to stay as a guest.

Room was a good size, well equipped and clean.

Balcony was very nice and had a great view of the sunset.

Wifi was strong, if that’s your thing.

Staff were very accommodating and friendly.

Overall it’s a lovely hotel and has a great location. Well worth a visit

This hotel was probably great in the ‘70s. It is a little old and tired now. It’s just okay. If you don’t want too much but a bed and a great view of the ocean, it will do fine. If you’re looking for more, look elsewhere. The breakfast isn’t anything to get excited about. The staff is pleasant but I wouldn’t say friendly.
To be honest, we stayed one night then found another place for the rest of our time.

Das Hotel ist im allgemeinen ziemlich alt und in die Jahre gekommen. Das Bad bedarf einer Renovierung und die Liegen am Pool sind wahrscheinlich so alt wie das Hotel und zudem auch noch ziemlich gefährlich für Kinder. Das Frühstück war grotten schlecht. Die Auswahl war sehr mager. Das Personal war jedoch immer sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Auch der Reinigungsservice war immer ziemlich Gründlich.

Beautiful resort. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and will go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The breakfast is great, the room is clean, the shower is hot, the towels are soft and the views from every room, either the garden or the sea is aestheically pleasing. There is also a tuk-tuk outside for whenever you need a lift around the island.

A great place to unwind and detach from reality, and a five minute tuk tuk ride into town for decent street food and amenities. Many restaurants are walking distance. Our teenagers loved it here, as did we.

Hotel is as pictures show. Perfect location for travelling atound the island. Hotel is set back from the road and is very quiet.
Pool is set right on the beach, making it easy to have best of both.
We were b&b. Breackfast had a good choice. All presented well and tasty. Several choices of fruit, cereals, yogurts, salad, waffles/crepes/pancakes and some currys. There is also a egg station. But the view from breakfast is fabulously.

Hotel really needs renovating. Beds are rock hard, air conditioning is unbearably loud and I won’t even talk about the showers!

Pictures must have been taken many years ago.

We checked out after the first night with no sleep and moved to a better hotel up the coast.

Only positive is that the Pool area is nice, and the local area has some nice traditional restaurants

This hotel is good and clean. The beach bar has good fòod and drinks.The pool was very busy with kids so we did not use it but looked. Gòd food within walking distance. Breakfast was good but the egg cooks need to go to cooking class as they would break eggs in to the pan and break the yoke look at you and laugh. Very pòor. Frt staff and manager were great. If you rent acooter from them check lights and the brakes some are i bad shape. Overall stay was good.

The hotel location and set-out was better than I expected. Right at one of the best beaches of Lanta. Nothing fancy, but matched our expectations. Restaurant sevice was not impressive at all, but food was good. Several good restaurants at walking distance filled-in for any gaps.

We decided to stay in a beachfront villa ans the view from our balcony was just perfection. The pool overlooks the stunning beach and the rooms are really spacious and clean. I would highly recommend this hotel. The only thing I felt that could be improved is the breakfast as there wasn’t a lot of choice!

Receptionists not that friendly or helpful at times. The towels were old, worn and not always that clean and the room was a bit shabby. There was nothing really to do in the evenings so we had to walk to other hotels and restaurants for food and entertainment. On the positive side the beach bar and restaurant staff were lovely and the location of the hotel with a lovely book and beach was great and made up for the points mentioned above.

Very poor service - staff at front desk had a very disdainful attitude from check in through checking out. I've not run into this too often, even in living for year in Thailand, and it definitely impacted our stay. The property is beautiful, conveniently located and the pool is right on the sand. Rooms are decent quality = average for Thailand, but clean. Breakfast was above average - but again the service was very bad from front desk, to service staff. Rented motorcycles and they were HORRIBLE quality - should've rented from a private service nearby. After owning motorcycles in Thailand, I was shocked that they would rent in such poor condition and then fight us on a refund when their motorcycle had mechanical failures. Again, I've lived in this country for year previously and am well aware of the realities of quality, etc - but there is NEVER an excuse for front desk staff to be snide, arrogant and disdainful. This happened throughout several days and negatively impacted the quality and comfort of my stay.

The good:
The pool is great - looks right out on the ocean and is large
Right on the beach, which is beautiful and uncrowded
Easy check in, and staff were helpful in arranging transportation to the airport
There’s a beach massage place basically attached to the pool area
The beach bar sells shakes, ice cream, and sodas you can enjoy by the pool
They have many loungers and umbrellas

The mediocre:
The room is simple and plain, but totally serviceable
The shower is ok, but nothing great
The provided shampoo is not very good - it made my hair feel like straw (but I also could have gone out and bought some for myself but was too lazy to do so)
The beds are hard. Which is typical for Thai hotels, especially at this price point
No beach mats provided, which would have been a cheap and nice thing to offer in the room for guests. The sand is hot and sarongs dont really cut it as well for lying out on the beach with friends.

The bad:
The area outside the hotel is pretty isolated. There are a couple restaurants, but no mini-mart/convenience stores for at least a 7 minute walk, which is annoying if you need an atm or want to grab drinks and snacks. This is of course not the fault of the hotel, but it is something to consider before booking. (And in fairness, tuktuks always wait right at the entrance of the hotel)

Overall, the hotel was great, especially for the price. I would stay again. Lots of families and older couples staying.

Wonderful quiet Nice place, but simple and no luxury. Breakfast is minimum, the place seems not well taken CARE of in A long time, but property, rooms, beach and service is great. Pool and beach is Nice. Best would be bungalows by the pool/beach. Massage and places to eat cheap on the beach AS well and more to choose from few minutes Away along the beach. No snorkling at long beach AS far AS we experienced. Cheap food on the main street close by. Low diskrete buildings on the beach.

Right on the beach!

Nice stay here. Pool is great. Close to lots of beach bars and food. Food at the hotel was pretty average.
Reception staff were lovely. We hired a scooter for a few days from the hotel which worked out great.
Bed is quite hard and uncomfortable even for Thai standards!
We really enjoyed our stay here and extended our trip for another 4 nights because we liked it so much!

Good hotel with pool and the beach just a few meters away. We had an enjoyable stay and the Front staff was very friendly.There are lots of restaurants along the beach as well so it was very convenient. We left for the airport very early in the morning and they gave us a takeaway away breakfast box which I thought was a lovely gesture. Overall it was an enjoyable stay.
Cons: The bathrooms need an upgrade.

Great budget hotel on a beach

This is a great resort on a nice beach and it’s budget friendly. It’s clean and pleasing with nice staff. Everything is nearby, including the tour boat pick up right off the beach. Good food at restaurants, breakfast and room service, which is fast. Giving them 4 stars due to really bad WiFi. They have good WiFi in the lobby but you want the comfort of you room to enjoy the WiFi in the evenings.

Needs a good scrub in the bathrooms and pool!

Stayed at the Lanta Casuarina Beach Resort for two nights and was not very impressed with the hotel. Our safe was broken so we were without it for a night - and the air con unit would not turn on. Thanks to the staff for fixing both of these issues quickly, however. The headrest in the bedroom was not big enough - the headrest for one side of the bed was a plug socket! The bed was also rock hard! - As with a lot of hotels in humid countries, there was mould and damp on the walls and tiles in the bathroom. In the hotel complex, the area was noisy at night with people talking and shouting by the pool, so we did struggle to get to sleep. The food was nice in the restaurant but by walking a few hundred metres along the beach, there are a couple of nice bars and restaurants which you may find a little cheaper. Overall, I think the hotel needs a good clean, and the amenities need updating, also the pool has scum around the side which was quite revolting. We would consider going back to this hotel as the main problems we encountered were only cosmetic. Overall, a nice little hotel in a nice quiet location.

Really enjoyed our stay at Lanta Casuarina

First trip to Ko Lanta, booked online with Expedia, just hoped for a descent room for the week. Loved this hotel immediately. Older hotel but with great charm and in good condition. Our room was quite large,with a comfortable king size bed, good aircon and a nice sized balcony. The location is great, being on the southern end of Long beach, not as busy as Saladan, but easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. If we go back to Lanta we would definitely stay there again.

The staff were helpful. The hotel was clean. The location to restaurants was good and is within walking distance. The hotel backed on to the beach and towels were provided. The hotel has a lot of stairs so I would check what floor you are on if you have mobility issues. There is a free pick up from the passenger ferry but you will need to book this. On the way back to the ferry it is 50 bahts each person.

Our oceanfront room was lovely and conveniently located near the pool and outdoor restaurant. It was large, comfortable and clean, and we could hear the waves from bed. It does need some updating, particularly the shades and curtain which were a bit shabby. Also it would have been nice if the door had a screen so you could leave it open. The beach is clean, the pool and surrounding area is nice and they provide a good breakfast.

Worst hotel ever

First I am in Thailand for almost one month with family I am did more than 12 hotels, this is by far the worst hotel ever been in my life, hotel.com should be a shame to rate 3 stars for that one, it's a real scam. I have been travelling all my life, very easy traveller with family not difficult at all we slept in places that a lot of people wouldn't but when you pay over 200 a night you except at lease something dissent. First hotel you arrive no body will take your luggage you need to carry all luggage by your self to the 3 floor no elevator, second don't expect any welcome anything just give your passport and there's the room. The room was so dirty when we arrive my wife had to clean the bathroom before we go in there's was stuff all over the toilet the shower had rest I think last 10 people who visit, the sink was wite but so dirty that we couldn't brush our teeth. My son was sick so during the night he vomit we cleaned with a towel and put it out side of the room on the floor. The towel was still there when we left the last day, did even picked it up. This hotel has no clue what clean is. For breakfast people and us had to buy stuff from 7eleven because they had only bread or some rice not even fruit nothing.

Very quite initially We arrived and the place seemed very empty, but filled up in the few days. Understandably for 'off season' in your 'on' season, so just brilliant. Bathrooms could do with a little tidy up as there was mould in & around the shower tiles. Many the silicone joints. Air con worked a treat. We needed it, it was still hot for switch a 20deg temp diff from home.
Breakfast was nice , basic but adequate for us. You just ordered with the waiter what kind of eggs you wanted and' hey presto' there were there!
We eat down the beach little way so didn't try the restaurant at night.
Cocktails were fine though around the pool, which was very pleasant. Awesome how it looked out to the beach.

rooms were large and clean. bathrooms as most bathrooms and shower areas in hotels in Thailand need cleaning better. the tiled walls are scummy and not great. all in all... I would probably go back again. access to the beach and the amazing views from the pool... watch the sunset were definitely worth the money paid.
had the sea view room... ok It's not so close to the sea but it was better than our friends garden view room which is still nice .. but I'm happy I paid the extra for the sea view.
rented motorbikes from a lady down the road... much newer and nicer bikes and cheaper than the hotel by a little bit.

welcome drink is a fruit juice which was ok.
food isn't great in the hotel.
there breakfast is Limited and the same.
evening meals or menu meals are not great at all. very basic and overpriced.

walk down the road to.the restaurants for better choices.
stayed out of season and so it was fairly empty at the hotel.

corridors can be noisy in the mornings with staff and others walking.about and talking.

I would still return.

Great place for our son's beach wedding!

My son and his Swedish fiancée decided to get married on this beach. It is halfway for Swedes and Aussies to come. Beautiful view of beach and sunset from our room. Bed is firm but very comfortable. Air conditioning In bedroom. 2 bottles of water provided daily complimentary. Breakfast choices changed daily with eggs cooked however you like them by the staff every day. Staff arrange taxi to town for small fee or motor bikes can be hired there. We ate in their beach restaurant as well as walked along beach to many others - all good. Swim in beach or pool. Only problem was bathroom not very clean. Shower and shower curtain mouldy. Staff very friendly. Great on-site massages, manicures and pedicures for very cheap prices. Granddaughter had hair braided by them also. Very relaxing wedding and holiday

Great find!

We originally booked to stay for one week at the Casuarina but extended to two weeks! It was so good
This is a great hotel on a white sandy beach.
The staff are helpful and friendly.
The rooms are clean and tidy and so are the communal areas.
Breakfast has all that you need to fill up...with egg station and everything else.
We loved this place and would recommend to everyone!

Pleasant Stay

Had a 4 night stay. Larger style resort which we don't normally prefer.Rooms were comfortable,a bit more attention to cleaning the showers is required.
Despite it being full, still felt we had plenty of room and space to relax. Our European friends continue to hog/reserve the sun lounges, despite requests from resort management not to do so. Our group of 8 spent more time in the water than lying in the blazing sun near it:) Breakfast was fine, and the food and drinks from the beachside restaurant were quite good. Would suggest the beach area in front of resort be kept bit cleaner. Would definitely stay at this resort again.

Nice hotel but could use an update

The pool right by the beach is fab. It was very peaceful. Unfortunately we couldn't get any free sun chairs as people would claim them with their towels and disappear, or just lie there for the whole day. The bed was the biggest I've ever seen!! I could lie across it with my arms above my head and not touch the sides, amazing. We wore 100% deet insect repellent during the day and showered before bed. Somehow, even with the aircon on, and never opening the balcony door, I got bitten by mosquitos overnight all over my face and arms (which were not in the bed). Even with antihistamines I'm still itching 2 days later. Pretty disappointing, I have no idea where they were coming from.

Nearly perfect

The hotel is in a perfect location on Lanta. Its really quiet and right on the beach. There is no public beds allowed so the beach is unspoilt. The sea was crystal clear and warm when we visited and we saw fish and eels.

Its only 50 baht per person go the busier side of the Island and if you want to go on trips the companies pick you up outside the hotel on the beach.

The staff are very polite although the restaurant seemed to be run by one poor lad called Ya. Never seen such a hard worker.

Breakfast and food was nice and the cocktails weren't too bad at buy one get one free around sunset.

The main criticism we had were that the room was very dated. The shower was pathetically small and powerless and the decor was worn.

The pool was very nice and well kept. We would definitely return in a heartbeat. Perfect for a romantic holiday. I don't think I've been to a more picturesque place.

Amazing hotel at beach for a stree-free holiday

Best location for a lazy beach holiday and rest: hotel and pool right on Long Beach, with amazing sunset everyday. The hotel is about 10-15min walk to the closest shop (Seven Eleven) and hospital if needed.
Wifi is rather slow and unstable, forcing you to disconnect :) Nice hotel bar at the beach. Room comfort is ok. Hotel can help you can there by car for a little fee if needed. Hotel close to Tiwlay Restaurant, a simple yet nice little restaurant at the beach, 5min walk from the hotel with great fish and view.

Special thanks to hotel staff Ya Watter, the nicest and most positive young hotel staff, always happy to help with a great positive attitude :)

Very Basic Hotel

The hotel is right on the beach and has a great view. The problem is that the hotel is dated. My husband and I had a villa but it had a very old smell and the bathroom shower did not have hot water. To be fair, the hotel did send maintenance over the next day but hot water is a basic necessity. The bathroom also had a bad smell coming from it. The hotel staff were fine but (it may have been a language barrier) but they told me they don't have a first aid kit or any sort of ice pack. They also could not give me ice since the restaurant was closed and they don't have an ice machine for guests. This was pretty inconvenient as well. I wouldn't recommend this place to a friend because there wasn't a lot impressive about it.

Stay here!

Wonderful hotel and resort in Ko Lanta, would love to stay here again. Great location right on the beach- there's a lovely beach bar a few steps to the north. Close to the village, maybe a 5 minute walk. Breakfast was fantastic, room was large and had everything you needed. Nice bar in the hotel grounds, free pick up from the ferry pier.

Only negative was that the wifi dropped out a few times. Temperamental, but when it worked it was very quick.

Comfortable great location

We had a bad experience with our first hotel in Lanta and did some quick research to find a nice place on the beach. The Casuarina was a big score for us. There were many friendly tourists from Russia and Finland at the hotel on tour packages.

We stayed in one of the beach front villas at the beginning of the season so they were still doing landscaping and other improvements. The rooms were quite clean. As is typical in many Thai hotels, there were odd oversights like they don't wash your coffee cups or replace used toiletry items.

The air conditioner worked well, the staff were friendly, the long beautiful beach was on our doorstep, the pool was clean and cool, the breakfast was healthy and adequate, the fruit shakes were awesome and the panang curry at the beach side bar was the best we had in town!

Pretty pretty pretty good!

Great value resort before high season hits. We played ping pong by the big pool and they had a pool table there as well. Rooms are in good shape and spacious. They would not accomdate an early checkin (arrived around noon) but they did store my bag for 2 days while I went to the similans. And they recommended a nice close affordable alternative hotel when I got back, which I appreciate.
The resort is tucked back and quiet enough minus the kids at the pool and is more in the middle of the main strip close enough to everything.

Pool and beach are nice. The room was ok, but a bit dated. Service at the front desk was decent and helped me book transportation, although I asked for a 1 hour late check out, and they didn't even attempt to accommodate. The resturant was not very good, and it's not close to too many other places to eat, so that would be a consideration of staying more than a couple days. If I could do it again, I'd probably pay a bit more and stay elsewhere.

highly recommend

The resort is absolutely amazing. It's located in a good distance from the main town centre so it's not loud or crowded around. The heart of the town it's however only 10 min away (by tuk tuk) so it's easy to get there.
Swimming pool area is just by the beach what makes it absolutely perfect.
Beds were spacious and comfortable.
The only negative I cam think of is hotel's bar. Staff did not always understood what we wanted and brought us wrong drinks. Food wasn't really good there either (bar, not restaurant as the latter was pretty good) so I'd recommend eating outside.
Next time I'm in Koh Lanta I'll definitely be staying at the Casuarina Beach Resort again!

We stayed at this hotel in mid May are were so pleased with the place, we extended our stay for 3 more nights. Although it was out of season for the resort, the staff were great and the hotel was in great condition. The pool was lovely and I would highly recommend the place.

Room 3208 clean but stong smell of mould in the toilet/shower and strange smell of urine in the room (better when AC is fereezing cold). Breakfast and staff good!
