This is a glorious place to stay when in Nairobi. It’s just a tranquil oasis with incredibly friendly staff, amazing food (we’re vegetarians), and astonishingly spacious comfortable rooms. We had a huge balcony which overlooked beautiful trees and were woken up by bird song every morning. The facilities are great - swimming pool, health club, etc. But it is the staff that make us feel so welcome and at home… Samson at reception was especially thoughtful and engaging and I had great conversations with driver David.

The hotel is beautiful and our room was lovely. We had a great king size canopy bed with nice linens and mosquito netting. We also had a living room and balcony overlooking a lush garden. The restaurant is nicely appointed but lacks a bit for lunch and dinner, however the breakfast is quite good with so many fresh fruits and made to order omelets. Very nice and safe location.

This hotel is amazing! Everything from the big, fluffy white towels and crisp, clean white sheets to the wide array of tasty food they served for breakfast, everything was wonderful! The property was beautiful! I forgot I was in the middle of a busy city and felt like I was in a small oasis surrounded by the lush palm trees and vibrant landscaping. Every single staff member we came across was exceedingly kind and went out of their way to help however they could. They all welcomed us each day with a wide smile and a kind word. The amenities such as the pool and the fitness center were well kept and had everything we needed. We were able to utilize the small kitchen and the nearby grocery store to supplement some of our meals during our stay. I highly recommend this place! You won’t be disappointed! Choose Palacina and feel the sweet Kenyan hospitality!

An absolutely amazing hotel in Nairobi. Very good service. You are made to feel welcome and special by the staff. There is an amazing garden with a pool and also an indoor lap pool for swimming in. We are there twice and the food was very high quality. Breakfast chef even cooked us an early breakfast on the day of departure.

It’s listed as a 5 star resort. However, there was used cups with old tea bags still inside placed in the cupboard, the tv barely worked and when it did only had like 10 channels, no room service past 9pm so nothing to have after a long journey and arriving hungry, I had to request simple things like a blow dryer. The shampoo and soaps had been already half used. There were no robes or anything that made it feel like a “5 star” resort. It’s a decent place but not somewhere I would stay again if looking for a luxury getaway.

I did not enjoy my stay. There is no air condition so the windows where left open. While the place is beautiful I didn’t appreciate the mosquitoes bites all over my body. The food was nasty and not prepared fresher and what I contribute to getting me sick. I would not suggest staying at this hotel.

What a wonderful hotel and experience!! The Palacina is located on a quiet street in the Lavington area of Nairobi. The staff was very helpful every time we interacted with them. There was a problem accessing Netflix and Samuel spent some time with us to fix it, including calling the IT person who was off duty. The food was wonderful - a filling breakfast each day with great service by Lydia. Dinner was equally as good. And the suite we had was more than amazing! The bathroom was huge, the king bed so comfortable that we want to buy it for ourselves, the living room felt like home and the balcony truly made it feel that way. This was a wonderful hotel to stay in for our 4 nights. We will certainly return there next time in Nairobi.

Got a fantastic upgrade to the \"apartment suit\" with jacuzzi etc. as our initially booked room was already taken. The highlight of the stay was the indoor swimming pool: heated and 18m length.

Hotel is comfortable with old fashioned interior. Good service at the reception. Restaurant has a nice set up, especially the bar. However the food is disappointment, Not well prepared and not tasty. Good breakfast, but yet again with shortcomings. Cold plate and milk products were clearly warm and not kept in freezer. One morning the staff showed up only when the breakfast time was scheduled to start.

An absolute nightmare. I booked this hotel in the hopes that I would have an unforgettable Christmas. It did turn out to be an unforgettable Christmas but in the worst possible way. Customer service was non existent and the hotel had a dark vibe to it. Oh and did I mention that the customer service was horrible, it really was the worst. I am usually a low maintenance type of guy and can get by with the worst service but this was unbearable. So much so that I had to check out early morning and move to a different hotel. Caveat emptor .. Steer clear.. You have been warned.

An oasis inside an otherwise busy city. The value for dollar is great, the property is beautiful, the service exceptional, the food was great and it was a great property in the city to feel completely away from business and felt very safe. Still it was possible to walk to restaurants and in the day felt safe to do so. The room was generous in size and comfort, and monkeys visited us on our balcony.
