The hotel is located in central yilan city and close to public transit. Staffs are nice. But the e cleaners is a big concern. There are mold everywhere on floor, ceiling, bathroom and tiles are all covered by mold. Very depressing staining in the room. The facility is old which is fine , but the cleaners need to be improved

The hotel is conveniently located about 5 minutes walk from the Yilan railway station. We were shown to our room by the staff at reception. There was a stale odour in the floor where our room was located. The staff quickly ventilated it and it was okay by the next morning.
The Yilan night market is located right in front of the hotel. You can find all the Yilan food specialties in the market and enjoy a nice evening there at your own pace. We went to the well promoted but touristy Luodong night market in the earlier evening, which we didn’t enjoy at all. Too crowded and food quality poor. The Yilan night market has my vote. But strangely the hotel didn’t promote this plus point.
Breakfast was sufficient, typical Taiwanese breakfast fare. There’s a pot of hot coffee for the coffee drinkers though.
The staff was helpful and offered to look after our luggage as we had a late train to catch. Upon checking out, we were presented with a complimentary pack of Yilan local specialty, the cow tongue biscuit. A nice and thoughtful gesture indeed.

A friendly and welcoming hotel that is trying a little bit too hard to do the French Retro Look. But it has everything you need for a one night stay in this underrated town of Yilan. And the location is ideal, good food choices right on the door step, bicycle friendly and only 10km from the not to be missed Kavalan (King Car) Whisky Distillery.

Directly opposite a small night market. There is a McDonalds and 24hrs supermarket across the road. The hotel is around 400m away from Yilan train station. The kids enjoyed the basement entertainment room!

1. For tourist experience prefer hotel everyday can provide more mineral water for guest. Some tourist may not suitable to drink boiled water.

I had a 2 night stay in Yilan. Grand Boss is in a good location in the city. Close to the Yilan Train Station and the Yilan Transfer Station...10-15 minute walk. It is also across the street from the night market. Jimi Square is across from the train station.
Hotel is small but good. Room and restroom are large. Facilities a little old but in very good condition. My room faced the street but the walls were good so that I never really heard the noise from the outside but only those inside the hotel.

The hotel was very warm and friendly with a pretty nice breakfast surrounding.
The hotel is right across the road to the night market and within 5-8 mins walk to the station, very convenient.
Only down side is the rooms, they just smelt of stale cigarettes and a bit moldy, even though they are all supposed to to be smoke free rooms.

Grand Boss Hotel is very convenient, less than 5 mins walk yo Yilan Train Station. Opposite the hotel, there is the famous night market, supermarket, KFC and MacDonald. Don't be afraid that you will be hungry!

The location of the hotel is very near to Feng Jia night market, about 5 min walk. We stayed there for 3 nights and went to the night market every evening as we find it convenient and it was also very centralized for food and shopping.
