Room was nice but smelt horribly of bleach. Staff member who greeted us at the office seemed a bit disinterested. We ended up getting up to our room and decided to move to a different hotel due to the permanent residents staying at the motel, One of which was wearing an ankle bracelet and kept asking questions about our trailer. Felt very unsafe.

Walked into the room and couldn’t breathe as I am asthmatic, room is a non smoking room but they allowed smoking outside and the outside is covered so smoke just blew back into the room
Also the curtains looked like they haven’t been washed in years and had rat or ant droppings on the basin
And what looked like a flee in the shower
So had to check straight back out and try and find other accommodation

We got to Christchurch late and checked in to this Motel for 2 nights. When we got there, the front desk gentleman was very nice and gave us our key. When we entered the room i looked around as i usually do and looked in the bed to find bugs in the bed and the room was not very nice looking, definetely not worth 85 each night. We went back to the front and complained in which the front gave us a new room. That room when looked at it, the bed skirt and bedding looked like it hasnt been washed in a really long time. Absolutely disgusting

It was adequate for our requirements and we would recommend it as good reasonably-priced accommodation. However, our unit was upstairs and opposite a unit where the people were smokers. The motel's policy of allowing people to smoke outside their units meant their smoke entered our unit through gaps around the door; normal gaps that would not have been a problem under any other circumstances.

Check in was easy and painless - Even got a early check in which was appreciated - Staff was pleasant - Room was clean and tidy However the shower leaked water through the badly fitting seal - Biggest Problem for me as I have a bad back and hip was the bed was too low - But the access Stairs were dirty with and unclean Used matches and loose litter made this a hazard for me - I am sure the Owner will address this issue when the Review is read - Overall Happy with our stay

A mixed bag

This Motel was very conveniently located for what I needed to do in Christchurch. It was nice and clean except for the pubic hair in the bath. The first night was not good with a party and arguments happening. The second night was better with just an early morning argument in the neighbouring unit (5am). I believe this motel may be being used for emergency housing. Without the noise issues, this Motel would be excellent value.

I don’t know who the owner rents rooms out too but maybe housing Nz because I was in a room under people that were partying all night till about 4am. Constant loud stereo and even decided too vacuum the unit at about 1am. Constantly in and out of room banging doors, couldn’t believe how they were just aloud too get away with it. I knew if I went and told them too be quiet I would either get assaulted or they would just make more noise on purpose. I didn’t get too sleep till just after 4am and was up at 6:30 too leave anyway. Horrible place and it did stink of weed everywhere. I’m going too try too get my money back this afternoon

The room was clean. Wifi though advertised was patchy at best. Free breakfast was never served. Not enough pillows or blankets. Beds were very uncomfortable.

Nice and clean but unfortunately we were on the ground floor with rude abusive people above us with children jumping and banging on the floor till 1 in the morning. I spoke with manager regarding, as loud and kept waking our four year old, at 10 pm and husband went and spoke to them at 11.15 pm each time the noise worsened. We had to be up at 5 am for a 7 am flight. I would suggest to get a top floor unit.

this is the worst hotel I’ve had the bad luck to be in. Cobwebs on the ceiling, people knocking on your door at all hours of the night. Walls paper thin. There was more water coming out the back of the shower head than there was out of the actual shower head. People smoking around your door (room constantly smelled of smoke). Asked to be moved, (there were two other rooms advertised) but management didn’t give a crap. Toaster was actually dangerous (electrical end loose and coming apart from main toaster.). Never again... if your confused about whether management actually cares, look at the other reviews and the managements answer to them...

We got a “free upgrade” to a one bedroom apartment, I would hate to think what the studio apartment was like. Bathroom hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned, someone had balled up wet toilet paper and thrown it up and was stuck on the ceiling - cleaners obviously didn’t look up!

The “queen” bed was your classic two singles pushed together. The only pillows available were ones with the same material as the duvet cover - no plain white ones to sleep on.

Good location and okay for basic accommodation. But sadly for us, some disappointing areas outweighed the positives e.g. a lack of area information like nearby places to eat, the Wi-Fi and cell coverage was hit and miss, noise from the room above (obviously occupant dependant but indication of acoustics between rooms?), no air conditioning - a wall (heater) unit was there but didn't work so unsure if it could have been used for cool air.

Unit we stayed in could use a makeover and a few things fixed and a good clean. Main bed was made but the kids beds they had to make themselves which was kinda weird. When we booked it said Free continental breakfast for 2 (per day) which we never saw for the 3 nights we stayed. Suppose my fault as we didnt remind them. If you want somewhere for a quick stayover then it would be fine .

I did not stay for the second night and did not get a refund. The guy at reception did not seem to care. It was a BIG mistake to stay here- Do not stay here!

Of all the motels I have stayed in over many years this is the worst. The building and grounds have been neglected and the room we stayed in was in a very poor condition. The toilet cistern was stained black by mould, the bathroom window had a crack in it fixed by tape, not recent. The fridge door was rusting at the bottom and the cupboard doors had large chips and water damage, again not recent. The free guest wifi was erratic and would not give more than one bar other than in the office, the person in the office felt that was ok. The only positive from this was the customer service from Wotif in finding us alternative accomodation for the rest of our stay in Christchurch.

booked this thru a 3rd party last minute not realizing I had stayed there before and was not impressed. At least the wifi has improved and now very good speed and didn't drop once, but the tv remote which I reported for the very same room a year ago still doesn't work...water damge in bathroom still there, but if you can get at last minute pricing it is still a reasonable deal...I have stayed in worse (but overseas)

Easy access in Redwood, for our purpose for visit to Christchurch. OK, no frills stay. Great free wifi that worked all the time which was a big bonus. Room quite dated and a little tired and smelt of curry!!. Great powerful shower. No allocated parking spots so you took your chances when arriving back each day how close to the building you would get, which was a pain as it rained most of the 4 day visit

Mostly adequate but room came with continental breakfast. We expected to find some bread, conserves and maybe cereal in the room when we came home at night - nothing there. When we got up in the morning (around 7) contacted the office and was told that breakfast would be delivered after 8, would have been good to know this when we picked up the room key.

The queensize bed was too hard.

I had noted on wotif that the booking was for 1 adult and 1 child (12 years). I had thought the single bed would have been made up for my child.

The queensize bed had been made up for a small person. The sheet and duvet were too far down the bed.

There was inadequate warm bedding on the bed for the time of the year. There is the heater in the room but it was too noisy to leave on all night.
