Reception were generally unfriendly with poor communication and not particularly helpful. Almost no information on the hotel and how to do things. The room was dated and tired withe the 'kitchenette’ barely useable. The fridge didn’t close and had to ask for a kettle. Nothing to wash things up with and the room was barely tidied. We were in a non smoking room but people all around us smoked in their balconies so it was like being in a smoking room. Air con was poor. On the plus side bed was comfortable and the shower worked well. Would not go back

Our stay was nice in the beautiful town of Cascais, Portugal. A couple of things to improve on would be the breakfast buffet. We were there for 3 mornings and not one time were the eggs, potatoes, bacon or sausages hot. On the last morning we were there early cause we were checking out and the eggs were cold!!
Also we didn’t like the barking dogs!! We understand it is an apartment hotel but the dogs were very annoying. Especially while sitting outside by the lovely pool at the bar enjoying a cocktail….other than that our room was comfortable & clean and had a nice view of the sea

The hotel is in a safe, quiet area and enjoys beautiful sea views. Everything seems to run smoothly and our grandchildren really enjoyed the swimming pool. We only ate in the hotel at breakfast time - an enjoyable and plentiful buffet, although a few changes from day to day in the selection would have been nice. Within a 5 minute walk there's an area of restaurants and opposite there's a small supermarket. The walk into central Cascais was a bit longer than I'd expected ( around 50 minutes along the coast road ) but the hotel's reception can order taxis and they arrive within a couple of minutes.

Pestana is good, only thing i did not like about the rooms were the really high bath tub. you had to step up really high to get in and the door didn’t shut all the way so water got all over the floor. the couches in the rooms i was in were stained. other than this the hotel was fine.

There was a major mistake in the booking at the hotel. I did 2 nights, 29/06 - 01/07 with Hotels.com but wanted to add an extra night for 28/06, I was guaranteed the same room with a sea view and wouldn't have to move for the 2nd part of the reservation. When we arrived there at night, there was no room. Reservations had sent an email to confirm so they were obliged to find us something, eventually after much a to do, we got into a room but then had to move out the next morning so it cut into having two full days there.

I would like to give a 'shout out' to Mariane who was on the reception that night and moved 'hell & high water' to help us. She negotiated one night, compliments of the hotel so in the end, thanks to her, all worked out well.

A Deeply Disappointing Stay My experience at this hotel was abysmal from start to finish. The property was visibly neglected, with poor maintenance and a lack of care in both the rooms and common areas. To make matters worse, the staff were exceptionally rude, showing little regard for guests and opting to converse among themselves in Portuguese rather than assisting customers. The overall atmosphere was unwelcoming, and the service was non-existent. Particularly from Bernardo Deca she Latoya Silva. I left within 30mins of arriving. The experience spoilt the beginning of my 10 year wedding anniversary
I would strongly advise against staying here.

Recently stayed 7 nights with the wife for our 34th wedding anniversary. Overall stay 5.5 on 10. Front desk staff were friendly and accomodating, but few positive points after that. No bell hops or persons to help with luggage.
Disappointed with the hotel itself. Outdated rooms with cheap cabinets and no coffee in room, very plain and unwelcoming. Kitchen sink leaked. I asked a maintenance worker to fix it (and take a look at the phone), he said to talk to front desk. Breakfast buffet was good with good service. Evening buffet for 30 euros was very underwhelming.
Phone in the room, didn't work the entire stay. Pool area was from the 90s, many sun chairs were wornout and uncomfortable or were broken.
The indoor pool is advertised as heated, both pools were not heated.
On the web - Hotel description and pictures are deceptive. The entire property needs a big facelift. And the biggest disappointment was a 10 minute detour walk to get to the ocean, when you can get there in 1 minute, but the hotel blocked access to direct route. Would not stay here again for the money I paid.

The staff was wonderful. Full buffet breakfast, with a wide variety of food. On site parking. Walking distance to many sites in Cascais, as well as the train station. Refrigerator and microwave, with basic kitchen utensils. Kettle can be obtained on request. The only negative was a sewer smell, however, we noticed this also when out walking so it may just be a city problem, not a hotel problem.

Most of the pictures online are very old. The rooms looked better before...they are basic, cheap, with badly fitting furniture. Very basic kitchenette with extremely stupid cupboard handles that make the fridge VERY awkward to open. Dining options are basically just a 30 euro buffet every night. There is a lack of attention to detail throughout. COVID notices still around from 3 years ago. Instructions on a safe that made no sense because they were from a previous model. The staff are nice and it is clean BUT the rooms are most definitely not sound proofed

Hotel sited amidst multi-storey blocks in urban situation. Some noise from traffic and building construction. Cheap transport into Lisbon area. Hotel offered free hourly taxi service to local station on weekdays. Large supermkt within short walking distance. View of bay but no local beach. Outstanding staff, good English spoken, helpful, friendly, welcoming, ready to assist on any issue. Nearby National Park worth a tour. Highly recommended for adults, not much to do for children.

Staff are great, especially front desk - always well staffed, professional, efficient, friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Pool perfectly warmed. Outdoor pool also maintained and usable. Easy stroll to Pingo Doce, farmacia, and endless spectacular coast, including the mouth of hell.

We had a lovely stay as a family of 4 at the Pestana Cascais for 4 nights. Friendly and helpful staff, good indoor and outdoor pool and outdoor areas and a decent breakfast with a wide selection. The bedroom suite was very spacious with a big balcony and though basic and a bit tired it was very clean. The kitchenette and fridge were a great addition. Beds could be comfier.
The hotel is a 5 min taxi drive to the main town ( taxi rank 2/3 mins walk from the hotel) and very easy to get a train to Lisbon. The best part was our evenings spent at Casa da Guia - just a 5 min walk from the hotel this area has a lovely selection of restaurants and bars over looking the sea and lovely all lit up at night. Excellent waffle/crepe van too!
A more residential area but a very good bakery/ cafe and small supermarket across the road, and a wonderful Pingo Doce supermarket 5 min walk away (near taxi rank under apartments)

Older property and needs updating for the price per night imo. 20 mins walk to downtown area but there was a small restaurant set around the corner along the cost which was convenient for night time. The pool area is small and again needs updating all around. I found the breakfast buffet was good but the dinning room was tiny and hard to navigate around people. 3 out of 5.

Excellent experience in general. Staff extremely friendly and professional. Overall the hotel is well maintained. Unfortunately the design is a bit out of date. Primarily the blue trim needs to be repainted a neutral color. It does not express a nautical theme. The \"spa\" needs an overhaul. It is not up to the standard of the day. Breakfast buffet was excellent. By the way, making a reservation through your app as a member is difficult. I had to resort to Expedia to make the reservation.

We were greeted warmly by Ricardo who provided an excellent orientation of the property and surroundings. We loved how spacious our room was and the size of the balcony. The breakfast buffet had a very good variety of choices and was quickly replenished. We loved that there was a nice assortment of fresh fruit. The only downside was that our bed was quite hard and the walls were very thin. We could hear everything said in the next room to ours.

Hotel is not new, but everything was in a good condition. The room was clean and bright, adorable and minimalistic.
What I liked about this place?
- Hot tub and indoor pool were very good. I could enjoy and relax after daylight activities.
- The hotel is close to the seaside with a running route. You will definitely love your morning running routine. Places and cliffs near this place are extremely nice.
- Breakfast was tasty. Huge variety of local food, fruits, home-made breads, for any kind of diet.
- Parking spot.
- Green and blossoming territory.

A fitting end to a family holiday.

What a hotel!!

We had originally booked to have two nights in a different property, after night one we decided drastic action was needed and rebooked elsewhere. A read of other feedback convinced me the Pestana Cascais was the place for us. It certainly didn't disappoint.

Location wise, it's a little out of the marina area, but that is reflected in the price. Other than that I can not fault the hotel. The staff are amazingly wa and friendly, the pool area is spacious and welcoming, the gym is ok, WiFi coverage is excellent. The breakfast array and quality is outstanding. Simply a fantastic hotel for a family of four.

We certainly made the right decision in decking to love hotels. So much so I am now looking at coming back to stay here again later in the year.

The room looked fine on the outside. But the beds were sinking in certain spots. They joined 2 twin beds to make a double. The room was renovated but the washroom looks like something out of the 1990’s. Good idea for a small kitchenette because other than some gluten free bread at breakfast, the kitchen couldn’t really accommodate for celiac (gluten free)

Very strange checkin, usually expect eye contact with the clerk means at least, \"How can I help you?\" but this guy wasn't doing the eye contact thing. Loudly saying. \"We have a reservation\" was the necessary poke.

The a,entities are very good, indoor and outdoor pool, the location is good and the free shuttle bus into Cascais Monday to Firiday is very helpful. It is a 20 minute walk but that does not suit everyone. Breakfast is good with a wide choice of food. The fresh fruit was very good. The only disappointment was the lack of choice for dinner, only 4 dishes,.

The staff, pool, outdoor areas and breakfast were very good. This Pestana property is under redevelopment from an old 1980style. The decor is outdated. We had several items that were broken in the room. One was repaired after informing the staff but the second remained broken. We have stayed at several Pestana properties and we are members of the Pestana group. But this hotel does not come close to their other properties. In a year or two once the redevelopment is completed it should be up to their high standards.

Our room was excellent , however the so called kitchen area was a
Disappointment it’s only intention was to force you not to eat in your room. Insufficient dishes and cutlery , however all the staff were very good the hotel was of a high standard the pools were great but please don’t describe this as an apart hotel, leave the fridge in the room and forget the rest , put in a kettle with tea an coffee making facilities

We had a nice stay at the Pestana Cascais. The decor is a little dated but the rooms are nice & the balcony is spacious. The staff were friendly enough.

The local area is nice with an amazing pastry shop over the road & also a little supermarket.

The breakfast really wasn't great & the bar food we ordered also wasn't great (burnt chicken nuggets which were taken off the bill). The cleaner had smashed our shower screen by accident but there was no note to advise us this had happened. When we realised we noticed two little shards of glass in the soap holder which we weren't happy about as we had a 2 year old that could have hurt themselves. We went down to reception & they advised they were aware & were going to swap us when we walked past...but we were at the pool all day. We were then swapped into an ocean view room where there was some champagne & fruit on the table. The person moving us advised they'd put it there for us but the note next to it told a different story, wishing someone a happy birthday.

The indoor & outdoor pools were brilliant & the grassy area next to the pool is also good...especially if you want to catch the sun as long as possible & have a nice view of the sea.

Overall we had a nice stay with some niggly bits. Wouldn't stay again but only because we've done & tried it.

In a quiet side of Cascais, closed to Guia and park, just 5 minutes drive to center, with a beautiful rumble amount the coast, excellent for walk and bicycle. We had a wonderful holidays in our last days of the long trip in Europe. Hotel is clean and pleasant. Staffs are very helpful and nice. The management team is very attentive for the details and needs requested from clients. Excellent breakfast. Good restaurants in walking distance for lunch and dinner. Typical Portugues baker coffee house and supermarket just cross the street. There are swimming pools indoor and outdoor.

Breakfast was very good. Evening Buffett was too expensive. Pool, hot tub and gym close at 8 pm - too early! They didn’t open until 8 am - too late.
Not good hours. Beds not very comfortable.
