Lovely hotel - would stop here again

Had a bit of trouble finding it, but when I did it was superb.

Room was comfortable and clean, shower was excellent. I ate an evening meal and had breakfast and both were really good.

Parking was good even with a long wheelbase van.

We found the gentlemen behind the desk v unhelpful and unfriendly. The hotel itself is like a white somewhat white bunker in the middle of a field. The atmosphere was v generic. The hotel was somewhat clean. The rooms nicely appointed but you could b anywhere in the world w no personality or feeling of being in Italy. The TV screen was the size of a computer screen. The breakfast was good. The pool was smaller than expected and closed at 7pm which was weird bc sunset was 8:30pm. Parking was great.

When I get there, I was placed in the basement under ground level.

With mosquitoes in the room. Very dark and depressing.

Completely different from what I booked. When question management the have no availabile room on first floor.

MANAGEMENT REFUSED TO CANCELLED MY RESERVATION AFTER CALL EXPEDIA ABOUT SIX TIMES.

COULD NOT EXCESS INTERNET POOR SERVICE.

Had to call my telephone carrier in USA TO ADD ON INTERNATIONAL FEATURES IN ORDER TO USE MY PHONE. Another , unforeseen expense.

The BLONDE LADY VERY COLD PERSON . She MAKES YOU FEEL AS IF YOU DON’T BELONG THERE.

Breakfast was good. Older gentleman in dining area was kind.

Not what we were promised

Not what we were promised. The pictures on line are not what you get at all. This was a complete bait and switch experience. They claim they have AC but it doesn't cool the room at all. They opened the doors to the outside while we were gone. When we returned the room was filled with bugs and we got eaten alive all night long.

The staff and the breakfast was very nice.

Our little oasis

We had a wonderful week at Locanda Dell'Angelo,,it was like our little oasis. We almost had the lovely pool to ourselves most of the time. The staff were all lovely and friendly.
The local town of Sarzana is only 10 minutes drive away where you can find lots of lovely restaurants. Well worth a visit.

Lovely hotel, shame about the loca area

Lovely staff, very helpful and friendly. Hotel was clean and pool was perfect for families. Breakfast was good too. The only downside was the area... unless you have a reason to be in this location, it isn't ideal for families as it was overcrowded in the summer season, we had trouble parking anywhere and there was little to do for little ones.

Good hotel if you get it at a budget price

Hotel is a few km from anything else, so you need a car. Rooms are good, air conditioning works well, staff are very efficient - check-in was instant with no questions or form-filling (as it should be in any hotel when you've booked through hotels.com but rarely is!).

Only two downsides to this hotel are 1) the brutal check-out time of 10am, and 2) they charge you 3 Euros for hot drinks at the (otherwise free and included) breakfast. I don't understand why they do this and I've never seen this is another hotel.

A friendly and relaxing hotel in a quiet location away from the buzz of the nearby beaches. A short walk from local restaurants and convenient for all the regional attractions ( by car). The owner and his wife couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. The hotel was immaculately clean and well maintained and room was spacious with an open view across the inlet to the headland beyond. An early morning swim followed by a relaxed breakfast was a great way to set yourself up for the day. We will definitely return.

Lovely hotel in beautiful location

Get the only negatives out of the way first: not easily accessable via public transport; beach not easy to get to (walk along a busy road with no pavement) and costs to use beach; so supermarket nearby. BUT, the positive to all of the above is that it is in a beautiful, out of the way location. The restaurant on site is expensive (drinks at the bar reasonable), but the manager was so helpful in pointing us in the direction of cheaper places nearby (10 mins walk and 30 mins walk) which also served lovely food.

The pool was quiet and while relatively small was just big enough for a keen swimmer like myself to do a few meaningful laps, and again a beautiful place to relax surrounded by views of fields and mountains.

I cant say enough positive things about the staff: very pleasant, helpful and patient, even helping me with practicing my basic italian.

I definitely intend on returning again, and possibly bringing more people with me who would appreciate a quiet place to stay.

Very nice place in the countryside

Very nice, well looked after hotel, in the country side but very close to Sarzana (less than 10 minutes by car) 30 km from La Spezia and Cinque Terre. We liked it very much. The manager Stefano is fully attantive to allo the guests needs.

Fantastic classic designed by Magistretti.

Warm welcoming hosts , a beautiful setting amongst basil fields and a calm place to relax by the pool. I was surprised when we arrived to find that the hotel seemed so DESIGNED, then was told that it was designed by Magistretti in the mid seventies, with many original pieces of furniture and lighting remaining (as well as the building itself). It's a 5 or 10 minute drive to most villages, (although one would be a 20 minute walk) so we chose different places to go each day. Lovely beaches, beautiful walking, interesting marble mining and lovely Sarzana if you fancy wandering about a larger town.

Solid choice

The hotel is surrounded by agricultural fields a bit out of town. The manager was very helpful and was there whenever we were around from 9 in the morning at breakfast to seeing him in the dining room at 11 at night when we were returning to the hotel. The room was spacious with a decent shower and plenty of hot water and water pressure along with good towels. The ground floor where the lobby is is actually the second floor (U.S. terms) where the rooms are because the land slopes to the rear. The rooms a floor below are off a corridor the is below ground level and the windows open directly on the back lawn. We didn't feel comfortable there and the manager moved us up a floor immediately. Breakfast was decent and the best of any of the four hotels we stayed in in Italy over the trip. Wi-fi was a little spotty in the room, but we could usually connect.. Never a problem in the lobby. The pool was very nice and they supply special towels for it. Overall it was a very pleasant stay. The staff really tried to please. We'd definitely recommend to friends.

Italian get away

Although the bed was uncomfortable and the building showed some age the staff more than made up for it. The manager spoke excellent English addressed me by first name every time he saw me and offered some great suggestions for activities and dining in the local area. If I could change one thing I would have added more variety on the breakfast buffet. It was limited and after 5 days it got tiring.

Friendly hotel staff w/large rooms and pool

Hotel is located around a 20 min drive to La Spezia where you can catch the train to Cinque Terre to see the 5 towns. Showed up no problem on the GPS. Also, it is only a 10 minute drive to the quarries where the marble that was used in the Statue of David in Florence was mined. The room we stayed in with 2 kids was very large, even for US standards. Only complaint would be the tub and shower, kind of small. Otherwise this hotel was excellent. The staff went out of there way to help us. No matter what time we showed back up at the hotel they met us at the car to help with our kids and bags. We had a large breakfast each morning that included fresh cut fruits (peaches, pineapple, strawberries, and melon), ham, cheese, bread, jams, cereal, milk, juice, pastries, and coffee made on the spot to order. Also offered eggs if we wanted them.

Can not say enough about how friendly the hotel staff was.

If you have a car this is a great place to come back to after a busy day at the cinque terre. A cool drink while swimming in their lovely pool was something we looked forward to. Stayed 3 nights, ate in house on our first night, delicious food, ate in surrounding villages other nights. Everything good with one.

Lovely hotel - very clean and comfortable. Food is incredible, but expensive! Definitely worth a try one night if you can! Staff are fantastic - very friendly and helpful. They know a lot about the area and are good at recommending things. The hotel is surrounded by fields and the mountains in the distance. It's quite close to the beach - 1km or so, but everything else is a little drive away. We drove everywhere, and it was a good base for visiting nearby cities - Lucca, Lerici and the Cinque Terre, Portovenere, Pisa, even Florence - but that's only really manageable if you have a car.

A visit to the Cinqueterre

The hotel is situated 15 minutes away from Lerici and the Cinqueterre area of Italy.
We had awonderful time and a great holiday. The Locanda is a very good hotel.
Our only problem was finding parking in Lerici. It was a bit of a struggle and we started taking taxis. This can add a little to the cost of the Holiday. However it might be difficult and even more expensive to stay in Lerici.

Although we loved the owner who was helpful and warm, and the pool was gorgeous-the rooms need to be updated from top to bottom. Great place to wind down

The service at this hotel was very good with the owners very attentive to your needs. The hotel looked a little tired in some areas and at the moment would not be the four star rating but that would not stop our returning. It was a wonderful place to relax as it is in a rural setting. You do need a car to get around but the driving is easy. Sitting by the pool with a drink looking out to the white marble mountains was a great way to wind down after a busy day and a dip in the pool refreshing. Breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from and nice fresh coffee made to your requirements from their coffee machine. For a special dinner, the food and service from their restaurant was excellent although a little expensive. As the dining room is very big they would do well considering a casual eating section with lower prices which would probably attract more of their guests. The hotel is about a 40 minute drive from main entry point to the Cinque Terre and their tips on how best to use your time were very useful. Overall the owners take a great pride in their business and do everything they can to try and make your experience memorable and we would return to stay when next in the area

Die Mitarbeiter/innen waren sehr zuvorkommend. Die Unterkunft selbst zeigt leider nicht die Sterne die angegeben sind. Es gibt nur ein Pool, laut Beschreibung soll da noch mehr sein. Leider ist dies nicht der Fall, an sich war es ganz okey, nur bin ich mittlerweile mehr Fan von privaten Anbietern, den die Hotels bieten nicht mehr das an was an Sternen angeboten wird. Die Betten selbst sehen nicht nach Queen Betten aus und für mich war es eher eine heruntergekommenes Zimmer. Für das ich mehr zahlte, als für eine andere Unterkunft (privat) wo ich genauso 2 Tage mit Frühstück ect. War und es eben viel schöner war.

Bra överlag. God städservice och frukost. Det var ca 35 grader när vi va där och air conditionern var näst intill icke existerande, så det var ibland olidligt varmt på rummet. Personalen menade på att det var samma för alla och att de inte kunde göra nåt åt det, tråkigt bemötande. Ligger nära en stor strand och finns gratis parkering. Egen bil rekommenderas då boendet ligger för sig själv.

L’hotel è una locanda e le 4 stelle non corrispondono alle aspettative. Anni 70 in tutti i sensi, compresi arredi con la ruggine, moquette, cavi a vista e chiavi fisiche con serrature lasche, ci sarebbe da fare una grossa manutenzione. In piscina è presente un ‘bar’, ma senza menu, il cameriere non sa cosa è possibile ordinare figuriamoci i prezzi, ma i tavoli sono apparecchiati come da pranzo, con tanto di tovaglia in cotone. Non si può mangiare però, al massimo un toast e bisogna sperare sia possibile. Non una comanda firmata, non un conto. Il giorno della partenza si può rimanere in piscina fino alle 12, non oltre. La colazione fino alle 10 con turnazione. Personale non formato per un hotel a 4 stelle, non disposto all’ascolto e al dialogo. Bellissime le eclissi di Artemide originali 1965, ma non bastano.

Den generelle tilstand af hotellet var dårlig, og man fik fornemmelsen af at de har været hårdt ramt af COVID-19. Personalet var der dog ikke en finger at sætte på, på trods af meget dårlige engelsk kundskaber.

Leuke locatie en hotel. Het hotel doet een beetje aan een B&B denken. Ontvangst was heel goed. Bedden en badkamer prima. Ontbijten was gezien de corona maatregelen wat beperkt maar beter dan bij diverse andere hotels in Italië op dit moment. Een semi open buffet, een medewerkster pakt voor je wat je hebben wilt en espresso of cappuccino kon je maar eenmalig bestellen. Op de laatste dag ging dat mis bij ons met een zeer onvriendelijke dame. Wij hadden onze bestelling doorgeven aan de dame die ook de broodjes e.d. pakte maar na 10 minuten nog niet ontvangen. Nogmaals doorgeven waarop zij het aan haar collega doorgaf. Die bracht echter nog niets. Daar die collega zelf maar om de espresso gevraagd. Zij werd boos omdat we het niet direct aan haar gevraagd hadden. Daarna kwam ze het wel brengen, maar de kopjes werden bijna op tafel gegooid en niet bij ons maar op de rand. Stijlloos. Verder een prima verblijf gehad.

Kleinschalig hotel, vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Het hotel zelf heeft wel charme maar is aan vernieuwing toe. De kamers zijn netjes en voorzien van alle comfort maar de matrassen zijn niet top. Persoonlijk hadden we tot twee maal toe last van vochtinsijpeling in de badkamer na een hevig onweer. Dit werd wel snel hersteld maar de oorzaak zelf (probleem op bovenliggend terras) werd niet aangepakt.
Goede uitvalsbasis om de streek (o.a. Cinque Terre) te verkennen maar op wandelafstand zijn er geen andere horecazaken of winkels.

Superbe séjour, établissement calme et reposant, personnel agréable, petit déjeuner copieux (machine à pancakes 😜)
proximité idéale avec les cinq terres (35mn la Spezia, 30 mn port de Lerici, la mer a moins de 10 mn).
Nombreux commerces à proximité (en voiture).
Endroit chaleureux et confortable !!!
On y reviendra avec plaisir.

Vu les alentours et le tourisme environnant je m’attendais à quelque chose de beaucoup plus propre et professionnel, la clim ne fonctionne qu’à moitié, elle fait un bruit énorme (je dors toute l’annee Avec une clim revesible, le bruit ne me dérange pas mais là avec les vibrations et les cognements de la clim c’était compliqué, à mon avis gros souci technique car en plus l’air sortant était à température ambiante) après avoir su signalé à la réception car + de 35 degrés dans la chambre et des moustiques gros comme des chauve souris au alentour, la patronne est venu dans la chambre, à regardé le thermostat, là déplacé de 5 degres à 20, et nous a dit que dans 10 minutes ça irait mieux...là clim à commencé à refroidir au milieu de la nuit.
Bruyant car les portes ne sont pas équipés de carte mais de clefs à l’ancienne (a gorge) et les portes clefs tape contre les portes quand les gens ouvre ou ferme, à double tours.
La douche pas pratique.
Le petit déjeuner sympa
Piscine pas eu le temps de l’exploité donc pas d’avis.
Le chat de l’hotel est mignon 😅
Les lits en métal et très grinçant donc si vous bougez une oreille les voisins seront au courant.. pas cool pour les couples.

Sinon rien de particulier, mais clairement 145€ là nuit pour ce type d’hôtel c’est largement sûr payé, pas plus de 80€ avec ça petit déjeuner pour celui ci. Nous avons fait de nombreuses villes et celui ci était le pire niveau rapport qualité prix

OK, men inte 4 stjärnor

Det var länge sedan det här hotellet var 4-stjärnigt. Ganska slitet, stenhårda sängar och tråkiga balkonger. Servicen var OK, men de hade mycket regler om vad och hur man fick göra. Sämst var dock att restaurangen, som drevs av en extern krögare, var svindyr och knappt hade några gäster. Med hänsyn till hotellets läge var man därför tvungen att ta bilen för att äta middag. Poolen var bra och läget är ändå bra för dagsutflykter till t ex stränderna, Cinque Terre och Carraras marmorgruvor.

Établissement propre et agréable à proximité de la côte et de la ville de Sarzana.
Piscine bien exposée et transats en nombre suffisants.
Robinetterie ancienne et clés des chambres archaïques !
Literie confortable et volets bien utiles.
Dommage que le petit déjeuner ne puisse pas être prit sur la terrasse, mais seulement en salle. Vous pouvez commander des expressos ou cappucino si vous le souhaitez.
Notre séjour c'est bien passé.

DESIGN E TRANQUILLITA'

Hotel di design anni 70, progettato addirittura da Vico Magistretti. Ampio, linee essenziali, bella struttura anche se un po' datata, ma in questo sta anche il suo fascino. Situato vicino al dal mare, ma immerso in un verde parco con una vista strepitosa sulle Apuane. Ottima accoglienza e disponibilità del personale, ampia e varia la scelta per la colazione nella luminosissima sala che include anche il ristorante. Camera ampia e luminosa, anch'essa impreziosita con lampade e mobili di design anni '70/80. Parcheggio interno gratuito e piscina.

Die Bilder versprechen mehr als das Hotel halten kann.
4 Sterne sind zu viele Sterne. Es hat keinen Lift und bei der Klimaanlage kann nur die Temperatur und Ein / Aus eingestellt werden. Die stärke der Lüftung kann nicht reguliert werden.
Das Fenster hat nicht richtig geschlossen, der Lärm von Draussen konnte man hören.
Einen Aufenthalt von 1 bis 2 Tage geht in Ordnung. Für längere Aufenthalte ist das Hotel nicht geeignet.

Goed hotel. Fraaie ligging, ongeveer 1 km van zee en diverse bergdorpjes. Vriendelijke bediening. Mooi zwembad. Vanuit zwembad uitzicht op bergen en bergdorpjes. Inrichting is enigszins gedateerd en airco werkt niet zoals je mag verwachten. Ondanks deze laatste mindere beoordeling, is het hotel aan te bevelen.

Save your vacation and stay away!

Stay away from this Hotel!
We did the mistake and gave it the benefit of the doubt after reading the bad reviews.
And it was all true...
It's a rundown and worn hotel with out working AC. The room was worn, dirty and full of mosquito's. And they told us it was there best room. When we asked the front desk about it they offered us a bug spay, wait for the next day to have the room cleaned and that the AC was working perfectly. Worst service I have ever had.
This is a 2 star hotel at best.

Preis Leistung für eine Übernachtung ok

Wir haben zwei Nächte in diesem Hotel übernachtet. Die Nähe zu Carrara, Pisa und Cinque Terre hat uns zu dem Hotel geführt. Das Hotel ist sauber und das Personal war sehr freundlich.
Die Zimmer sind sauber und der Erhaltungszustand ist ok. Die Decke im Frühstücksraum hatte Schimmelflecken, was nicht so appetitlich und gesund aussah. Das Frühstücksbuffet war für ein 4 Sterne Haus enttäuschend. Sowohl das Brot wie auch das Obstangebot war teilweise eher ungenießbar.
Das Hotel ist für den Preis in Ordnung für eine Übernachtung oder zwei wenn man auf einer Durchreise ist. Jedoch würden wir keinen längeren Aufenthalt empfehlen.

Ótimo hotel, mas precisa modernizar as instalações (exemplo trocar as fechaduras das portas, ainda são com chave antigas). Ótimo quarto e banheiro, café da manhã espetacular, o melhor capuccino da Italia, muito bem preparado pelo Maitre.

Hôtel propre et spacieux, personnel super !

Les chambres étaient nettement moins luxueuses que les photos le laissaient penser mais cependant spacieuses et confortables (super literie !). L'hôtel est bien tenu et le personnel, vraiment, très agréable. Par contre, comme souvent, il est perdu au milieu de rien, coincé entre deux routes alors il ne faut pas espérer une vue.

not good at all! do not stay here.

This is the worst hotel experience we have had. we were welcomed in a bad way. They said they didn't have a room for us, it was a leak in the bathroom. they also could not offer us any other room. we also talk to the hotel director, he could not help either. we had to call hotels.com they luckily fixed it! We got the room we originally had booked (zero leakage there ..) so it was obviously a big lie. we went down to eat(its a resturant at det hotel), there were about five pairs eating, it was large and it was a lot of free tables.

\"No, we haven't received any information that was necessary\"
the lady looks up and down at us and shows clearly signs that we weren't pretty enough dressed.
She shows us to a table after she's seen in her big book.
One of the waiters ignores us completely. he just stands there like a statue.
do not stay at this hotel, utterly miserable customer service.
